After a terrible Illini game at Wisconsin and an awful Bears game against the Rams, I needed to watch something comforting. Thankfully the good people at NFL Throwback came through in the clutch with highlights of Bears vs. Rams from week 14 of the 2006 season. The video is titled "The Night Devin Hester Became a Star!" You can tell it's a throwback because it's a football game in St. Louis that doesn't feature the BattleHawks. Ka Kaw!

"Go crazy, folks! Go crazy!"

"Swing and a long one into left field! Adios, goodbye and maybe that's a winner!"

For a team that didn't hit a lot of homeruns, the 1985 Cardinals came through with a couple big ones when it counted 35 years ago. (Man, I'm old.) Let's relive two of 6-year old Chris' favorite moments and pretend the 1985 baseball season ended once the NLCS was over.

Way back when, ESPN's "College Gameday" was just a regular studio show broadcast from Bristol, CT. But when #1 Florida State was playing at #2 Notre Dame on November 13, 1993, a tradition was born - taking "College Gameday" on the road. It looks and sounds a little different from the version of the show we know and love today, but there's still Coach Corso putting something on his head to signify which team he's predicting to win. Fire up the VCR for a mini-episode of "Past Balls."

Yeah, I know this is supposed to be the podcast that reviews old games. But every game needs a pregame show. So, before we review the games, we should probably review a pregame show. Fire up the VCR for the first-ever regular season edition of FOX NFL Sunday from September 4th, 1994.

Welcome to this preview episode of "Past Balls." I've had the idea to watch old sporting events and review them on a podcast for like six years, but I've never gotten around to it until now. I probably should've started this back in March when there were no live sporting events, but again, it's taken me six years to get this far, what's six more months?
