Stir The Soul is a program that is designed to encourage and challenge your faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
As we continue our study of Luke 24:13 - 32, we come to the rebukes that Christ gave to the despondent disciples. It may seem counter intuitive, but it leads to the chief reason why the disciples hearts were burning within them, namely the explanation of Christ in the Old Testament. We are continuing the lead up of the Podcast's theme, verse 32, but it is vitally important we address the content of what Christ spoke to the disciples, the purpose of the rebuke, and why it was done while the disciples' eyes were prevented from recognizing Christ.
This episode is dedicated to discussing the resurrection the disciples on the road to Emmaus were expecting Christ to produce, namely a kingdom redemption and not a soul redemption. Daniel Tyler also discusses how current generational christians can have false expectations of how Christ handles His disciples, and our Savior's focus on understand theology properly in order for us to have a right understanding of what is occuring in our world. During this section of the passage, we get to hear the heart and motives of the disciples who were downcasted and looking sad after the risen Christ asked them merely two questions which seem to cut them to the core. It is here that we hear their reasoning and justification for why they were upset, we get to see their hard hearted nature and refusal to trust Christ's Word and refusal to properly understand the Old Testament text that said the suffering servant had to die for the payment of sins.
