Does it keeps us waiting for the new drob or the next trip? Is it an accessory, tech or place we take apic of and show off on the gram? Here's my sentiments about the polarizing public figure. X was a troubled, creative who was turning the corner when his life was cut short. There's tons o takeaways form his life and legacy: authenticity, being lost, vulnerability, accountability, value, connection, redemption, courage, being unique, using adversity to your advantage, darkness, mental health, abuse, fear, encouragement, speaking things into existence. I could go on and on.

Not as bad a s Love is Blind but the sister show featuring Nick Lashay again follows similar sentiments of love, 'real' relationships and the tantalizing topic of "When is the Right Time?" Unedit yourself is a real take on what it's been like to be a content creator. When I make youtube videos, I probably spend 2 hours editing for every 1/2 hour of filming. This is so similar to what we all do in our lives. We may have an encounter with someone, be looking forward to something or hoping to get somewhere in life and get super critical when things don't go our way. Sometimes we even give ourselves a hard time even when things are going well. I'll admit, I've spent endless hours and days getting in my head about content I've created or a conversation I've had off camera. Once you practice kindness towards yourself and reduce editing your self literally or figuratiley you like will get better, things will flow more. When we censor our character to appease others we rob outselves of self expression and the true experience of life.

Believing is not enough is a reminder to everyone that everything in life that yo u want to experience is more than a "manifestation" away. Belief is one step out of many whether you want to be successful in your career, in a loving committed relationship or exploring exotic countries. You also have to execute. Action, perseverance, the art of pivoting. are all required along the way. What more is introspection. You need to have the skill to look inwards and align your beliefs with a healthy dose of realism. I look at belief the same way I do seasoning, It's better to have it while cooking, it ads season and flavour complexities but if the food you're preparing ins't fresh, good quality then it doesn't matter how much of it you put the meal won't turn out the way you want it to.

Today's episode is an open ended discussion about multitasking and compartmentalizing. Two things al lot of people want us to do but should we? I used to think multi tasking was a sign of intelligence - prioritizing things and simultaneous knowing off things on you tot do list, at work, at home etc. Much like compartmentalizing how good are these things for our mental health?
Data Entry like the name says is about collecting data, constantly. Anytime we communicate, verbally , non verbally our brains are sorting and storing info on the world around us. That goes for the people we interact with too. Be aware of how people respond to you - or don't Watch and learn quickly about what you're putting out from what people show you. It could be that judgmental aunt who criticizes your weight and tells you to eat her unhealthy food at the same time or maybe your friend that bails every time you plan and wants to catch up only on a last minute basis. Maybe it's your girlfriend who emasculates you in front of her friends. Or your manager who makes snide comments about your outfits. However tall or small the communication you decide what value you want to give it
My iPhone broke and it sparked the thought of using a break down to build up. There will be times in your life where you think you'll be ok, or at the time you think something is good but as life happens it urns out not to be and vice versa. Since my dad passed away five weeks ago I've been experiencing a different kind of breakdown - one that is as much as sorrow as an epiphany. It wasn't until he was gone that I realized the way I was thinking and perceiving life wasn't working for me. Missed opportunities no regrets because it took passing through that moment to get on this path. I wanted to share this thought with any of you who went through a loss this year. Whether it be a person, sense of self, ideal about life, job, plans to pivot your perspective add build up from yere.
Nights like these I have no real lesson to share, just some emotions four weeks after. We all deal with loss, it's how we begin to process them that defines and shapes what will come from it.
I once read that hatred is like acid it burns the container more that the person it's spilt on ... let that sink in
Have you ever seen a three legged dog? If you have, you already know where this episode is going....
To times 2 is a sequel and an explanation. I didn't get to finish pod-tober, my father passed away. I'm back today to revisit the topic form last week the day before he passed because I think it's more importunate than even to CHOOSE how you're going to use the things you can not control to propel you forward as you progress through this process called life.
TAle of two minds is about perspective and deciding how you views things for your benefit.
Be full of yourself. Take note from the insta baddies. Get full of yourself. Take it another level and fill your heart, mind and soul. Treat yourself like a content creator that is assured in their talents (or looks) and use it to get to the next level o fyour personal development/ self love journey.
Time to take my own advice form the Sacrifice and Burnout episodes. A rest day is a whole day per se but a mindset to give yourself the space to breath and be.
This is for all of the people who feel stuck... Are you looking fo freedom from your past or freedom to pursue your future? Either way as we've discussed in earlier episodes this week, you have all the power to create the life you want by deciding today. do you want freedom from the stories you've told yourself, the narratives you've been told or the live you lived and the thing s you held you back? Or are you desiring freedom to be yourself, live your best life or just be you? You choose.
Do you have friends that make you feel like everyday is judgement day? They always have something to say about what you're going through or they know how to make your life easier if only you'd do this one thing or you'd stop being stubborn. the best things about seeing things from outside the the box is your not in it. You're not going through it you're not living it day in and day and it's always so so simple for outsiders to tell you how to live your life. Like I said in last night's episode. No one knows how to do you better than you.
All you need is one. One person you can trust. One person you can confide in. One person you can relate and resonate with. Dwayna, my cousin from Georgia inspired the message in today's pod. When we spoke yesterday, she ended the call saying I appreciate you and I'm so happy we are able to relate and resonate. That reminded me of some of you who have DM'ed me about your insecurities, your life, and your struggles with sight loss you've said to me that you are happy we can relate. To enjoy your life, to be secure and comfortable with the discomfort that is everyday sturggle you need that one who will grind for you, or at the least remind you when you've forgotten how boss you are.
Success doesn't come without sacrifices. So why don't these gurus and moderators talk about the sacrifices you'll have to make in order to be successful. This podcast accompanies the Patreon pod, a private conversation about perseverance.
Time waster is an honest conversation about the cost of your time. When you spend it with others, on yourself or for work or school how much does your time mean to you? It's the only resource we have in this life that's not renewable. You can't get it back.So why don't we honour it like that?
Ask? Why? or Ask Why? Because too often we are looking for answers we can't find without asking the right questions. Ask yourself why, ask why others treat you how they do, ask why you waste time on social when you cold be putting that energy into yourself. Ask why until you get to the root of your triggers and troubles. When you ask why or any of the four W's you simply your life. It's like creating a virtual page in your mind where you come to an understanding about the reality you've created. So much of life is on coast mode we ned to shift it to a more conscious gear in order to redirect ourselves to the path we will feel truly inspired, loved, fulfilled in.
Played is a reminder that life is a game. Literally. whether it's chess and you're using logic and reason to decide your next step and make your move. Or, poker and you're using decrement to decipher what people really intend to do. OR maybe even LIFE, meandering through paths and choosing who and what you'll take in that plastic car along the way. This episode gets into the gritty topic of being 'played' in relationships, friendships anywhere people are involved and what you can learn to live more authentically.
My friends and I have noticed more and more often that everyone seems to ben an expert at everything. But how can that be? How is everyone iwth a throat to speak talking about consistency is key? I find no matter what industry you're in you've probably heard about the same three things be shared whenever someone speaks on their success story: consistency, good quality and authenticity. How ironic!!! Well on this episode we're getting authentically deep on these only too obivious tips people share as well discuss the privileged people have whether it's financial, emotional or opportunities/resources that most don't have access too. What are you throughs on these not-so rags to riches stories?
Love as much is a diffenrt approach to the "love yourself" trope. Learn a lesson from my mistakes in giving others more love than I've evEr given myself. We've all done that, showed more love, compassion, attention, respect or admiration for others that we have for ourselves. Hope this episode is a message to you to remind you to always love yourself first. xx
There's a IG quote, "IT's your story feel free to hit 'em with a plot twist at any time. That's the inspo for todays episode. Don't be afraid to redefine and change yourself. It's your prerogative your self discovery journey
Pain Into Purpose is about choosing to use the things that challenge you. hurt your are make you feel left behind as fuel to become better or to do better. Re-purpose the times you've been let down, the situation you can't believe you've been in to make you feel more complete and sound with yourself.
Keeping boundaries is a reminder for anyone who haas people in their lives that prosper off of them not having boundaries. THis is for all the people who feel disadvantaged at work, disrespected at home or not feeling as fulfilled, loved, happy as they deserved to be. Remember it always starts with you.
'Cultivate gratitude through times of transition' is what the yogi said this morning. It stuck with me all day - to have an attitude of gratitude when things don't go your way. When your city locks down again or you lose your job or postpone your wedding. You can handle. It's always easy to be appreciative when things are going well but when you're feeling tried and tested that's when the truth comes out. If your in it practice gratitude right now. Look for one thing no matter how tiny that you are grateful for. Happy Thanksgiving weekend!
Are you an Introvert or Extravert? This episode talks about the preconceived notions and the positives in being a mix of both. Also, what can you learn from those different from you? Who do you give your energy to?
What do you do when you feel a lot of the same? Or if something has happened to you again and again what will you do to make it different? How will you use the situation to shift your sense of self.
It's been said the only difference between a setback and a comeback is the choices you make. Gert up, forward, step back. let go, try harder. Do what you need to do just don't stay still
Am I stereotype is not just about the stupid comments like 'your pretty for a black girl' or 'you don't look blind' it's about how the perceptions we have about someone and how they're supposed to be impacts both them and us. When we hold a stereotype, we hold ourselves back form discovering a new idea, a new phase or even ourselves. Whether we are the one placing limitations through stereotypes on others, or we hare the target of a stereotype, we block our ability to expand and explore our interactions more.
Everyday is a test run. If you take life seriously like me, this will make it easier. Anytime you make a mistake or feel regret setting in,, remind yourself this is all practice. "You never get it wrong and you never get it done" Life is a process. Go authentically and fearlessly.
No substance is about more than what's going on with Sukiyana, it's about how we all use social media and feed into the machine. In this episode, we discuss how paying attention to things that are not for us or don't fuel us affects us. Whether it's these celebrities looking for coins during the pandemic through outrage marketing or someone in uyour real life. we all need to choose where we put our attention.
Who do you think you need to be in in order to be happy, healthy, in love or successful. Is it realistic? Is it authentic to you? This episode is a chit chat on the idea of who we are and who we think we need to be. So often we tell ourselves in order to live and enjoy life's pleasures we must be a different person. Or, we see people living the lives we ant to have and we need to be more like them. What if, we are exactly who we are in this moment for a reason? Not to say self improvement isn't a daily constant but instead of aspiring to be a future self why not work on yourself today to get from here to there? Let me know what you think on social.
Compromising yourself is a mistake most of us have made at the benefit of another and the detriment to ourselves. Anytime you do it you know, you feel it. How can you put in to practice doing better for yourself? Do you feel drained or annoyed when you consider other people feelings or desires over your own? Who is benefiting from your consideration? Each authentic journey is different. We all have different lessons to lear and different times to be challenged. People are brought into our lives to show us something. Are you ready to write a new script in yoru family dynamics, friendships, relationships or work experiences?
Break before burnout is a conversation about the choice we make when we are pushing our edge. Do you feel overwhelmed sometimes to the point where you're tired? I know I have. Especially in this times we're in where you may be getting back to 'life as normal'. Remember like Nipsey said it's a marathon. Pace yourself so you can find your place in whatever your hoping to achieve.
In this episode we talk about teethe-ring the line of being strong and deciding when it's ok to be 'weak' We'll discuss if it's possible to be weak without be strong and vice versa and I'll share how I've been tested and showed this lesson this week. It's a longer pod than usual, had alot to share on the matter and definitely want to hear from you. Let me know how you feel on social!
With the change of the season it's time to tend to your friendship garden again. Is there anyone that needs extra care are you feeding weeds that are messing with the vibe you want for your life? In this episode, I share a personal story of letting go and rearranging my flowers and shrubs to better suit the season ahead. With another season around the corner we can take note form Fall and make like the trees and let the dead things go. Whether you're looking back on your life on lockdown with remorse or regret for what you did or didn't do, shift your energy to where you are now and how will you use your regrets to get you closer to the life you want to lead.
Introductions are annoying straight up. I share how I've bombed some and what my cousin shared that will help you and I get better at saying less but saying your truth. Challenge! Try describing yourself without saying what your job is. It's so freeing to me to be able to detach myself form what I do (especially because I don't particularly like it) and instead share a part of myself that informs people on the content of my character.
My three words are: Storyteller. Creative. Uplifter.
Yours?
Brandy vs Monica was a mess but it reminded me of my own situtation. What happens when the vibe isn't right? Do you pretend and continue or cut ties? Is it better to fake it til you make it or break the facade and be yourself. This is the authentic pod so you already know the answer but how do you deal with life's real situations that catch you out of your element?
Let's talk pop culture. Megan the Stallion opened up about the altercation in mid July and we're going to get authentic with it. Have you seen the commentary? or the Memes? It's savage out there no pun intended. In this episode we'l'll talk about how society disrespects black women, cancel culture and how this all applies ot each of our lives.
Did you ask for clarity this year? Or maybe you felt like its the year of seeing clearly since it's 2020. What if that's still true? Just not in the way you expected?
In a nearly post quarantine world where most things are going back to 'normal' as it was what do you NOT want to go back to? Who or what was draining you before? Have you hit the pause button or fast forward with your friends and family? It you want your life to be better tahn what it was this episode is for you. It all starts with what you put your energy into.
Law of attraction or foolishness? Pick a side. I tell you how I feel about manifesting in this episode and the pros and cons of 'creating your won reality'
Expectation vs Reality. We have all lived those moment where you thought something was going to go one way and it went left. Whether it's a small situation or Life's Big Moments, it can be annoying, eye opening, stressful and sometimes funny. What can we take away from having expectations that are off from reality? What are your thoughts on this 'new normal' (strongly dislike that term) we're living in? We're in a time of strange transition.
We all do it so let's talk about it, procrastination. Funny, I procrastinated on this podcast from January but here we are in July and Authentic is finally lie!
