Crystal Renaud is the Founder and Executive Director of Dirty Girls Ministries.
In February of 2009, she launched Dirty Girls Ministries out of the experience of her own journey of becoming whole after an 8-year pornography and sexual addiction as a teenager. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Liberty University and four certifications including Professional Life Coaching from the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and is a member of the AACC in good standing. In her book Dirty Girls Come Clean (Moody Publishers), Crystal shares her story of freedom from pornography use and is being used to bring other women out of bondage as well.
Crystalâs work has been featured in the New York Times, ABC News, Christianity Today, 700 Club, Outreach Magazine and more. She also speaks to church services, college groups, youth groups, womenâs groups and virtually any other group or conference on womenâs pornography and sexual addiction as well as on a variety of other topics. Speaking topics include Living Single on Purpose as Christian Women, Pursuing and Keeping Healthy Friendships/Relationships, Faith Dilemmas/Distorted View of God, Womenâs Emotional Health (emphasis on Depression/Anxiety), Support Group Facilitator Trainings, Church Communications and more.

He was one of four finalists during the 2008 season of American Idol, then the singerâs rendition of âHallelujahâ went to the number one spot on the iTunes singles chart.
But since his late teens he had been harboring an âawkwardâ secret: âI hate to say this. Itâs embarrassing, but I was addicted to pornography,â Jason Castro declared on an âI Am Secondâ video. Jason put safeguards in place to prevent any further problems. âI thought I was good with accountability software and thought I was safe. But after their marriage he slipped once again. âI discovered some loopholes. I had a smart phone and it was easier than ever. Now it was in my pocket anytime and anywhere I wanted it.â
The addictive pattern returned with a vengeance. âI would wake up every morning and my heart would start racing and I would want to go look at porn and start the day and pretend to be the happy good husband,â he said. He couldnât tell his wife due to the threat of divorce. The problem continued to create an emotional wedge between the two of them. âIt made us grow separate She didnât know what it was. She thought it was her.â
âI was a coward and didnât want to tell her.â
After eight months of marriage, the Castros were invited to a 12-Step support group in their church. âMy wife wasnât expecting that,â Jason said. âShe started crying. She never pictured her life like this.â
In listening to other peopleâs burdens, Jason found a small measure of hope. âIt was weird, but in people sharing their struggles, God used it to reveal to me and everybody else this is how it works.â
They kept attending, but Jason still hadnât told his wife about the return of his porn habit. âAfter a couple months I confessed to her in front of the group and asked for forgiveness. It was a really tough night. This was the darkest time, with my wife wanting a divorce, fighting all the time, breaking stuff, just embarrassing things,â he confessed.
âThatâs when everything started to change because I started feeling more free.â

Kids these days can access a world full of knowledge at the click of a button, so we need to be more diligent than ever in helping them navigate through this wide open cyber-world which can easily lead them down the wrong path. We need to stand alert and protect them from the many dangers they can be exposed to in life, but especially online.

Today we are discussing a few public figures that have been affected by sexual addictions. Living in the public spotlight cannot be easy for anyone, but it's especially difficult for those who are struggling with addictions. In this modern day of technology where information is so easily and readily available at any moment, it is increasingly difficult for people to hide what they do in their secret private lives. For example, one once prominent and influential congressman, Anthony Weiner, has literally ruined his life from his online sexual exploits. This is a great example of just how powerful sexual addictions can be. To this day, Weiner has not come to terms with his addictions and unfortunately it has cost him everything. This is what Unashamed By Grace is all about- bringing to light the life consuming dangers of sexual addictions. In other words, not being afraid or ashamed to discuss any aspect of addiction, and also give people the God given tools to gain control over addiction, and thus, their own lives. On a positive side, Terry Crews is one public figure that has actually taken his past struggles with sexual addictions and overcame them. He is not afraid to make his past public, in hopes of helping others struggling with the same issues. Crews uses many of the same techniques and teachings that Unashamed By Grace utilizes. Obviously, there is help out there for anyone struggling with sexual addictions. The most important thing for everyone that is struggling with addiction to know is that they are NOT alone, and that there IS help available.

We want to teach people to not regret what has happened in their past but interpret it properly and maximize it to help other people in the future.
