...After a hiatus for personal issues, Terri and Randy are back to share their input with guidance from the Closer devotional book.
In this episode Terri and Randy talk about the power of faith! God is amazing! We are hoping this study reaches you like it did us! We reminisce about how David came to slay Goliath and how this relates to our own "Goliath" sized issues.
We encourage you to listen along with us and then take a little time to share the "Faith Conversations" and complete the "Step Closer" exercise on your own. It is, as always, our hope that our willingness to share our thoughts and feelings will motivate you to do the same - resulting in a closer walk with God and a more meaningful relationship with each other.
With guidance from the Closer devotional book, Terri and Randy talk about the benefits of a positive attitude, meaningful communication and intentionality. Next, they walk through 3 questions together that stimulate thier discussion - as an example of how it will , hopefully stimulate yours. Lastly, Randy encourages listeners to follow through with an assignment together that will create stronger attitudes AND a habit that can carry forward for your own happiness.
Terri leads with guidance from the Closer devotional book. She and Randy address 3 questions: 1) Do I like the person I am becoming? 2) Is my heart for God shrinking or growing? 3) Am I giving my spouse and children only my emotional scraps? ...We hope our answers serve as an example as well as kindling to get your own conversations started.
Terri and Randy talk about the combining of family cultures when creating a new marriage...and a new family. The idea of providing the comfort and guidance of an ambassador to your spouse is one we think can help a relationship grow - not only between the couple, but with the rest of their family as well. ...They even dream up a little counceling concept that could go a long way to get a relationship started on the right path.
Terri and Randy introduce the subject of TRUST - inspired by another book they are studying together (Stay Married: A Couples Devotional by Michelle Peterson). ...The discuss the five characteristics of trust: Integrity, Honesty, Consistency, Intent and Transparency. Next they go off script a bit and talk about nature vs. nurture and it applies to whether one is trusting of others or not. ...Randy and Terri found the discussion so insightful to them that they felt it was worth jumping into a new resource to bring it to you.
Randy and Terri talk about how the three loving traits; affection, warmth and encouragement are building blocks towards a long lasting, loving marriage.
