On the Practical Magic Podcast the floor is open to Jade Sullivan. Jade is a mama of twins plus one and wife, a Black Activist & writer and creative entrepreneur.
Jade wrote an incredibly powerful article recently for Mother Pukka on the silence of white people on social media in the wake of the George Floyd murder, calling out how deafening it has been to have white voices stay silent when the Black community have been shouting about systemic racism for so long.
In the show today, Jade is here to share more about to talk more in depth about the post she shared. She covers a wide range of topics from:
Her own experiences with systemic racism
The stereotype of the Angry Black Woman, and how that affects the voices of so many Black women to be surpressed
How the silence of white influencers was deafening in the wake of George Floyd's death, and how we all have the position and collateral to do better
How the Black women are 5 x more likely to die in childbirth due to racism
How Black people are 4 x more likely to die from COVID-19 than white people
Why the education system needs to teach about a more diverse range of cultures and heritage of all nations
How the world's map is skewed
I am so incredibly grateful to Jade for coming onto the show to share her voice on the show.

I am beyond delighted to welcome back onto the Practical Magic Podcast my coach and mentor Suzy Ashworth.
Suzy is a mother of three, a Hay House author, TEDx speaker and a mindset and business coach, who has been leaping into the wild beyonds of creating in the quantum field.
I am down with the expansive power of energy and creating beyond our limitations, and I see just what’s possible when we step into that limitless space, so I invited Suzy on to share more more more.
In this empowering and fascinating topic we discuss:
What are you putting up with in your life right now that is causing you discomfort and dissatisfaction?
Taking the lead for being open to more comfort in my life as we come out of lockdown, I ordered the ultimate comfort support - a non-wired bra. Game changer, or so I thought. Yes life without unnecessary wires is something to be cherished, but what I quickly noticed was that discomfort had been replaced by some bad design detailing on the bra that left me OBSESSING about it for days.
This got me to thinking about the levels of dissatisfaction we're putting up with, that lockdown is highlighting to us - the itches that need scratching - and making sure we do something about them now, before the doors re-open and we use the busyness of life to distract us.
On the show today, I'm sharing how you can turn your discomfort into a strength. One that you can learn from and do something about, before that seemingly small discomfort turns into an overwhelming burden.
You can also learn more about what you are going to be taking as learning from lockdown with my FREE ONLINE MASTERCLASS taking place next Wednesday 27 May.

In this episode i talk with the Gorgeous, Effervescent Donna Easton, the founder of LifeShine, which enables people of all ages to find a way to access parts of themselves that were locked away.
In early 2019 Donna attended a dance and drama class with her then 3 year old daughter, she was struck by the rigidness of the lesson with little outlet for self-expression. Where was the freedom to be who you want to be, to dream, to play, to laugh? It was completely absent.
With first hand childhood experience of how confidence, resilience, mindfulness and an overarching healthy sense of self-worth result from play without an agenda, Donna got to work on writing the LifeShine programme to reinforce the value of play-not just for children but for the adults who care for them;
Donna's mission is to help people recognise their worth, be confident in who they are, to have a few tools in their emotional toolkit to prevent mental health issues and enable them to have the time of their lives whilst doing it.
We discuss:
Let's all make a conscious effort to access our inner child and start getting down with the essence of who we are!

How do you start your mornings? Are you a pre-wee scroller heading over to Insta or Facebook to check in on what you might have missed over night? Do you dive headfirst into your emails before you've had chance to properly work out who you even are today? Maybe you catch up on the news before you've stepped foot out of bed.
How we start the day sets the tone for each and every day. The space we have each morning as we open our eyes is the most pliable time which creates the emotional and energetic preset for your day ahead.
Waking up to something that's going to kick your fight or flight reactors into play is creating a day that starts with cortisol and adrenaline firing through your system, and builds up from that point on.
Especially in these times of Coronavirus and lockdown, we are more susceptible to fear triggers from everywhere around us, and the more our fear triggers are activated, the more accumulate throughout the day and into your sleep. This causes something called allostatic load, which if left too long to build up causes wear and tear on the body and mind.
Having morning practices which allow you to create your day ahead from a place of breath and centre, is an incredible resource to help you feel calm, empowered and able to set the day in the way you need.
On the show I'm sharing some simple ways you can create a magical morning routine which will leave you feeling both EXPANSIVE and EMPOWERED and is good for your mental, emotional, spiritual, creative and physical health.
Enjoy creating space for yourself each day.
Creating a magical morning routine is taken from the EXPANSIVE EMPOWERMENT SESSIONS. These are seven powerful online mini courses to bring you calm in chaos. Dial up your confidence, fire up your energy and feel back in control.

In lockdown life we have become aware of the duality of how we as humans give or take in nature and win our societies:
Hoarding vs. sharing
Going out vs. staying in
Not distancing vs. distancing
Self vs. society
How we show up in our humanness at this time is a reflection of our relationship to the world.
In time of lockdown nature is righting herself.
With no planes in the sky, less heavy industrial activity and not so many cars on the road, she is coming back to homeostasis.
It is shining light on some really truly uncomfortable truths that were always there, but that in light of COVID we can no longer ignore.
Being a human in society and the spiritual balance of receiving and sharing so in this special Practical Magic & Soul Pod Party Podcast collaboration with me and Karmic Alchemist Matt Taylor we discuss:
How to live inharmony and balance we must go beyond our nature and strike more than taking from our natural resource well.
How to live within the Law of Nature
Why the natural state of abundance if so surrender and trust; to give more and share more
Living society in its highest potential and how this restores balance in the cosmic system
Matt shares more about the Law of Development, and how this current time is here to remove negativity and restore rebalance
How we can share more from a place of non-attachment and no need for recognition.
You can join Matt and I for our online workshop ‘Making a Space for a Miracle’ on Thursday 14 May at 7:30pm BST / 8:30pm CET

At the beginning of lockdown I was hosting some free online sessions where I would pull a Practical Magic card for the gathered group, and the same card kept coming up again and again; it was the SPACE card.
It's funny because at first people didn't trust what they saw 'It's just a blank card, there's nothing on it, are you sure that's supposed to be in the deck? ' When I asked them to feel into what the space card may be bringing up for them the words tumbled out:
I need space
I crave space
This is what I've been asking for for so long
I've been getting really curious about the lessons from lockdown and what we will be taking from them before the restrictions are lifted, and the resounding feedback, is that you don't want to lose the space this time has given you to pause, to reflect, to be rather than to do.
In this week's Practical Magic podcast episode I am sharing the importance of space, and how we can harness it, what we can learn about it in lockdown. Also, how it gives us the opportunity to connect to a life on our terms, and how we want to create a better world as a result of having this time for reflection.
It's also the most ideal time to get EXPANSIVE within space, as space has no limitations.

We're going on an exploration of the energy centres, otherwise known as chakras, in the Practical Magic Podcast today. At this time when we've been feeling overwhelmed and disconnected, it's time to connect back into the wisdom of our body to tune into what's not feeling good from an emotional, physical, mental and spiritual point of view.
Chakras are energy wheels that run through the body, and connect to what's going on in our body's, in our lives, and all around us. When they are out of whack, we are out of whack.
So on the show I take you through each of the seven main chakras in the body, what they relate to, how you can tell if you're off in each of the chakras.
Understanding what's going on from an energetic point of view has been the thing which has brought me home to my life, my body and my BIG, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL self again and again and again, so I am honoured to share this information with you.
I am also over the moon to be sharing a new online offering with you; the EXPANSIVE EMPOWERMENT SESSIONS are seven online courses taking you through each of the chakras to help you relight your energy, your motivation and your confidence.
You can find out more, and buy any of the seven courses individually, or the full programme here.
How are you managing yourself through this huge period of change which we have had thrust upon us with COVID-19? Likelihood is that you’re navigating your way through each day, and trying to find a way to create some ‘new normal’
Even though we are all in this, each one of us has a different way of responding and reacting to this new normal whilst collectively grieving for our old daily lives, our previous sense of identity, and the plans we had made before this all happened.
So on the show today, I’m sharing how we navigate our way through change, and how we can use the 'Kübler Ross Change Curve' to see where we’re at, and where we might jump around on, to get some sense of awareness and grounding as we move forward. On the show I discuss the stages, and what might be showing up for you in each, and how you can move your way through them.
What I do know is that our lives will never be the same again, but we will come out of this period of time, and we will adapt to change, so let's keep our energy expansive and keep creating to empower our BIG,BOLD,BEAUTIFUL lives.
Throughout this time I am offering some online workshops, Qoya classes and creating content to help you as we move forwards, so make sure you’re signed up to my mailing list so that you can receive information and dates directly to your inbox.

“Today I have a lighter experience of suffering which only exists moment to moment. Generally my default state is one of peace which brings a sense of freedom, connection and endless possibilities within my life.”
Meet Life Mentor and writer, Nicole Barton, something of a unicorn within the self-help industry for her candid notion that nobody needs self-help. Committed to supporting people in finding freedom from whatever their particular form of suffering is, she is a breath of fresh air in her admission that while meditation, yoga and anything that leads us into soul-led expression can be useful to drop us out of our heads and into our hearts, none of these practices are prerequisites to peace. Profound, in that Nicole’s life thus far has not been devoid of challenge or trauma.
Nicole shares her early experiences with Trauma and her thinking around her belief that people are born with an innate wellbeing and resilience and do not require ‘fixing’.

Living the BOLD in a BIG, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL life can often be the thing we struggle with the most. Becoming visible and stepping up to share our voice can lead to all kinds of fears rearing their heads around being judged, not being good enough, or the good old imposter creeping in to try and keep us back behind the curtain. But, you are needed. Your voice needs to be heard.
And thankfully, on the Practical Magic Podcast this week, I am speaking with Jessica Huie MBE, who’s here to help you do just that. She’s on the show sharing her work on Transformational Visibility.
Jessica enjoyed a glittering career as a publicist and has worked with some of the world’s biggest stars, including Samuel L. Jackson and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle. Her book PURPOSE, published by Hay House in 2018, has been instrumental in helping us connect in with our mission to show up and live life from a place of being guided from within - and now Transformational Visibility is about helping us to show up and share our voice.
Jessica is joining The Awakening to host a wellbeing workshop, and she shares all about this and more on the show today, as well as:
▪How Transformational Visibility allows us to be more of who we are
▪How we can shine our light be stepping out of the shadows and sharing our voice
▪Why your message is more about who you are here to help
▪How to get more comfortable with public speaking and sharing your message
▪Why getting visible can be as much about talking to 1 person as much as it can
be about talking to 1 million people
▪The power of connection and community to support you as you become visible.

When making changes towards a BIG, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL Life we can rationally tell ourselves we know it’s going to take time, and that we’re in it for the journey, not just the destination, yet we still demand huge shifts and instant results straight away. Today on the Practical Magic Podcast I’m sharing with you a super-simple, yet effective strategy that will make a huge difference - the one percent shift.
The one percent shift is about taking simple micro changes each and every day, that when added up over the course of a week, a month, a year, builds up to some serious BIG, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL
transformation.
So, if one thing you can do today is to listen to this podcast episode, then let that be a step on your BIG,
BOLD, BEAUTIFUL journey.
Meet Joanna Forest, the UK’s number official number one selling classical soprano. Joanna she to fame in 2017 when she became the first independent artist to shoot straight to Number 1 in the Official Classical Album Charts with her debut album ‘Stars are Rising’.
Whilst at Stage School Joanna was one of the youngest women to be diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of just 21.
On the show today, Joanna talks about the impact this had on her life, and her career, and how it has helped shaped her musical journey. We also talk about Joanna has forged her career as an independent artist who has won much critical acclaim, including breaking records for going straight to number 1 with her debut album, her second alum ‘Rising Stars’ shooting straight to the top of the classical charts last year, creating her own show in the West End, her first public performance singing with Britain’s Got Talent star Paul Potts, and the song she sang ‘By My Side’ recorded to celebrate 60 years of Cruse making no. 1 in the Classical Singles Charts in 2019.
Joanna shares how she’s navigated the steep learning curve of being an independent artist, the magical power of classical music to benefit mental health, and how her new album ‘Rhythm of Life’ is a musical journey for the whole family, and how music is a connection to imagination and creativity in an over-stimulated world.

Just how much do you find yourself in the shadows?
Today on the show I'm sharing why it's time to step out of the shadows of your life and into the light of what a BIG BOLD BEAUTIFUL version looks like feels like, sounds like and feels like. For you, and only you, because when you do so it creates so much more for you and the world around you.
This does require you to step into the expansiveness of this and just what is available to you, because most of us are operating at 25% of our energetic potential keeping 75% hidden from the world, and that’s just freaking sad.
25% is the doing OK. It’s operating at a level that is just about keep your head above water. And don’t get me wrong, there is no judgement that. We’re all doing the best we can can with what we have, and the tools that we have available to us right now.
But 75%.
75% if you is hiding in the shadows, and that means hiding through holding yourself back because fear of shouting louder, and you’re not giving yourself space to listen to expense of truth and intuition about just what is possible.
75% of you is keeping yourself in a constant state of overwhelm, and being busy, and being all the things to all the people and giving it all away to everyone other than you.
75% of you is hidden because you’re not connected to your vision, your values, or your purpose, and how you were here to show up, and be of service and create in the world.
75% of you is hidden away because you’re stuck in a negative super-loop of lack thinking that you don’t have enough so how can you have anything else it feels completely out of reach.
And then 75% of you is hidden away because that fear of judgement what will other people think an old stories and narratives are holding you back.
Well I wanna call time on this it really is time to step out of the shadows it really is time particularly now to step into the BIGGEST, BOLDEST, most BEAUTIFUL version of your life. This is about showing up. This is about creating. This is about calling it out and getting really clear on what it is, and having a creative and healthy support system and belief system is going to help you to get there.

A #BigBoldBeautiful life requires a step up and into a transformative experience to get you out of stuck behaviours, of old holding patterns, and repetitive ways of acting which mean you go round in circles chasing your tail. On the show today, I'm talking about the idea of transformation and radical change.
Transformation is radical change. And whilst the idea of radical change can be daunting, it can also be incredible exciting; an evolution, and evolving through transformative ways of living.
Transformation to living a BIG life, where you no longer hold yourself back, or play small.
Transformation to a BOLD life, one where you show up for ALL of it
Transformation to BEAUTIFUL Life, one of your creation, purpose and passion.
Transformation to make a POSITIVE IMPACT on the world.
Most people will wait for transformation to come to them
Most people will operate at 25% of what is available to them.
Transformation requires you to step up, and step into what’s possible
It requires you to go deep.
It requires you to be brave.
It requires you to get on board with the idea of radical change.
I want to talk to YOU about you saying YES to your BIG, BOLD BEAUTIFUL Life.

Happy 2020, I am so looking forward to sharing more Practical Magic goodness with you over the airwaves this year. January is all about creating your BIG, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL year ahead, but before we go rushing full steam into it like excited puppies, we are going to take some space for a little pause to review and reflect on the year that's been.
As humans we tend to bunch information up, and give a generalised view of one year to the next, because if we tried to process 365 days all at the same time, we would fall over. Often we use a 'catch-all' term for a year that's been, whether it was 'good', or 'bad', 'great' or an 'annus horribilis'.
On the show today, I'm talking about what you may have deleted, distorted or generalised from you year in 2019 and why it's important to get into some of the detail, so that you get more of what you want, and less of what you don't want for 2020.
There's still time to sign up for the FREE 5 day mini course to activate your BIG BOLD BEAUTIFUL 2020.
How often do you take the time to celebrate outside of birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, New Year, or any other key points in the year? When I work with clients, one of the fundamental parts of our work is to celebrate every time they take action.
As we are just a few days away from New Years, and the dawn of a new decade, I'm sharing why celebration isn't just for new years, and why celebrating is so important for wellbeing, productivity, confidence, resilience and motivation.
So, here's to celebrating the highlights and show reel of 2019, to kick off 2020 is BIG, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL style.
Join me for creating more moments to celebrate in 2020 and beyond with my FREE mini course to Activate a BIG, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL year ahead.

Two months ago I was spending my birthday at a beautiful spa creating my intentions for my year ahead. As part of that I called in the kind of energy; the people, the vibrancy, the kind of clients and work I wanted to be doing in 2020, and the environments I wanted to be creating these in, including the one I was in that day.
Fast forward two months and I was there again working with a VIP client in that space that I had created all those vibes. It was like a magic manifestation of everything that I desired.
In the show today I'm taking about the power of creating magnetic energy on a physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and creative energy, and what you're calling in for 2020. This also includes the people, the money, the clients, the opportunities and so much more.
So, let's call it in for a BIG, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL year.
Join me to call it all on with my free mini course starting 6th Jan 2020 to kickstart an incredible year ahead.

On the show today, I'm talking about how the language we use creates our reality. From the verbal language we use, to the non-verbal, the 'language' we use to speak to ourselves, about ourselves, makes a difference to our levels of ability, confidence and sense of self. And ultimately; creates our reality.
As a Master NLP Practitioner, I'm fascinated by the way linguistics and language creates both positive and negative effects on us. I noticed it recently when a friend was telling me about her flourishing new business, and described it as her 'little' business. I hear it a lot, and it's predominantly language that women use; the 'little's, the 'just's; we don't own our contribution to something incredible.

What resistance are you feeling right now about a situation, which could be the thingyou've been looking for, which will help you change up in your BIG, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL Life?
On the show today, I'm talking about the idea of resistance, and how it can actually be the thing which unlocks the key to knowledge and wisdom. And how, on the other side of this resistance is freedom and growth.
Grab a pen and a journal as we explore resistance through the lens of the energy centres of our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual.
Let's learn from it, and bust it through!
On the show today, I'm sharing with you the three stories you're telling yourself which are keeping you stuck.
In this mini series of episodes which are airing as we hit the end of the year, and knee slide into a new decade, I'm diving into more delicious detail as to how we can get towards a BIG, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL Life. Or, namely the thing that stops us from getting there.
In this episode we explore the narratives of:
The 'I don't haves' and how what we are telling ourselves about the things we think we don't have is holding us back, is not the actual truth, and how this lack mentality is at play.
The 'When I's' that are keeping you stuck in the fallacy of waiting until everything is perfect before you can start living your life in the way you want to be living.
The 'I'm worried thats', oh yes, this old chestnut. How we are pre-disposed to head towards catastrophising and sending ourselves off a big cliff of doom of what could go wrong before we've even made a start.
This one is for you, once you have awareness you can start working through it.

Often ideas towards living a BIG BOLD BEAUTIFUL come from a lightbulb moment, or divinely guided inspiration towards how we can meet someone else’s needs. The idea can seem so beautifully simple, yet obvious. Why hasn’t someone else thought if it before? Surely they must have done? No, wow, OK, let’s make it happen.
So, you make a start, and then quickly start getting over-excited about all the possibilities of what you could do. You start adding idea to idea to idea to idea. And then before too long, that beautifully simple idea begins to get completely overwhelming.
Today on the show, I'm talking about why we overcomplicate things on the show today, and why it might be the perfectionist at play, and your ego trying to keep you in a comfort zone.
I’m going to be sharing ways in which you can take your BIG BOLD BEAUTIFUL Life idea to the next level without drawing yourself in overwhelm in my FREE Masterclass happening on Thursday 28 November

2020 is going to be a year of living in our full potential, a year of activation and a year of possibility, and I'm inviting you along for the ride, as we up-level to live a BIG, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL LIFE.
But, wait a minute, what if you want to harness to power of possibility, but you are hit with all the worries and doubts about, why me? How me? I don't know where to start? I'm just not ready yet?
Well, lovely Practical Magic Podcast listener, I am here on the show today to share with you just why you are ready NOW, and why there really is no better time to start planning, living and rocking that BIG, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL life right NOW.
No more waiting until the 'perfect' moment exists, or all the things are in place. Our energy is about making it happen, regardless of whether you think you're ready or not (sidenote, none of us are ready, there is no perfect time, in fact, the most perfect of time is non-other than right now!)
Enjoy listening, and do sign up to be the first to hear about the BIG, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL Masterclass taking place at the end of November.
Would you describe yourself as a multi-hyphenate, multipotentialite, or in my case the proverbial 'slashie', meaning that I have so many strings to my bow, and things that I love to do in my work, that I find it difficult to encapsulate it all into one job title.
Being a multipotentialite or multi-hyphenate doesn't always have to relate to our work, it can relate to all of the things that we do in work, in careers, at home, in our interests; in live overall. Having so many things on the go at the same time can lead to overwhelm if we're trying to do them all at the same time, and feeling as though we not giving all the attention to all things at all times. Enter then the concept of the Carousel, devised by my lovely client - and multipotentialite - Sarah Weiler, who honours that having variety in life and career doesn't have to mean doing all the things at the same time, and that variety can also mean focus. Not one or the other.
Sarah has spent the last 12 years teaching, facilitating and coaching all over the world and working hard to build a life full of activities that make her feel alive. These include: Power of Uke (using the ukulele to access Growth Mindset and Creativity in corporate organisations like Google and PWC), Rye Laughs Comedy night, DJing, stand-up comedy, career and life coaching, teaching money mindset, becoming a TEDx speaker around the topic of Quitting and most recently creating The Carousel. Her claim to fame is her GDPR comedy song, which went viral.
So listen in to this fascinating conversation, as we celebrate our lives of having lots of different creative ideas and projects on the go.

How often do you find yourself saying 'yes' to things through gritted teeth? Yes is a word in our lives that is lived with excitement, possibility and adventure, but so often we're held back, because we are saying yes to the things which aren't serving us. So on the show today, I'm flying solo to share with you the power of NO, in order to get to the big, bright, juicy, expansive YES!
On the show, I'm sharing ways which will help you get OK with saying NO, and what you need to do to hold the stare when the guild kicks in, or you worry about relinquishing the controls over to someone else (yes, love, I know it's hard!)
Listen in, this is a goodie. And I'm here to help if you you want to get to that big, bold, juicy, unapologetic YES. This is my super-strength as a coach.

This week's show I'm flying solo to talk about lack mentality and how we can break up with it, and tell it stay the hell out of our lives... for good.
The show is a rally cry, and it's one based on some rather painful untruths I had been experiencing, which came to a head last week around how I didn't feel enough, or that I wasn't able to show up for my work, and therefore nobody liked me, and everything was going to go horribly wrong, I mean boo hoo, big time.
And I know I'm not alone in this. We all suffer with this idea that we're not good enough to get the job, the relationship, the clients, the life we want. Or we believe that there's just not enough resources to go around, such as time, money, capabilities, opportunities. This is lack mentality, and it sucks. So on the show today, I am sharing ways in which we can switch from the detrimental toxic relationship with lack mentality, to build an empowering, uplifting, and supportive love relationship with an abundant mindset, and abundant life.
On the show I share:
I'm ready to work with YOU, I am so ready to dial this up, and I am here to help you do the same in your life, so let's make it happen.

When thinking about the topic for this week's Practical Magic Podcast I consulted the Practical Magic Activation Deck and pulled the dance card... twice.
So, I followed the call of the disco ball and dance with what I was going to share with you on the show today, and what I got was the kind of magic that only happens when you move and groove to get out of your stuck head and back in connection with the wisdom of your body, and your intuition.

The original Blackwing Pencil has penned some of the most iconic and famous poems, songs, movies and books of our time, and it's slogan 'half the pressure, twice the speed', has turned into an interesting philosophy of how it would be to live life with 'half the pressure, twice the flow.'
In a world of side-gigs, hustle, multi-hyphenate careers and living our best lives, where are we putting too much pressure on ourselves? In this week's Practical Magic Podcast I'm exploring how we can reduce the pressure in order to allow creativity, flow and intuition to do their magic.
I will be sharing more about this as part of my Activate Your Magic Workshop at The Awakening, a festival of wellbeing and self care, taking place on the Isle of Wight 8 & 9 June 2019.

Welcome to this week's show. I'm flying solo today to talk about miracles, wonderful miracles. Not the turning water into wine miracles, but the everyday miracles that are happening all around us.
Quite often, we can be so transfixed on what we are shooting for, or what we want to achieve, and the frustration kicks in when it's not happening on the timeline we expected it to, or in the way we imagined it would. But it is happening, all you need to do is take a look around and notice all the little nods, which let you know it is.
This is super-charged magic making. Hope you enjoy the show :)
We hear a lot about the term burnout, and how linked it is to stress and overwhelm, but are you actually aware of exactly what it is, and whether you are suffering a burn out?
In the show today, I'm flying solo to talk about my own struggles with overwhelm and burn out, what the symptoms are, and how you can tell when you are burning out yourself.
I'm sharing 20 telltale signs you might be in the midst of burn out, and some powerful self care tools to help you turn things around.

“I live to enjoy life by the littlest things, feeling the grass between my toes, breathing fresh air, watching the wind sway the trees, enjoying the company of loved ones, a deep conversation, getting lost in a good book, going for a walk in nature, watching my kids grow up. When Siobhan Curham decided to write a book about happiness, there was one problem—she wasn’t truly happy. In her latest book Something More … a Spiritual Misfit’s Search for Meaning Siobhan shares her seven year journey to find meaning. In the show today Siobhan shares more about that journey, and her latest book. And we discuss how that something more in life can be found within ourselves, and through our connection to ourselves and love.
As Siobhan says:
“The book took me seven years to live and write; seven years that transformed my life for the better, leaving me happier and stronger and more at peace than I’ve ever been and I’m very excited to be able to share all I’ve learned with you.
This book is for spiritual misfits like me. People who have had enough of the doctrine of separation and fear. People who look around at the world today – at the politics of division and the hashtags of hate and the spiralling mental health crisis – and say, surely there has to be a better way.”

"We need to celebrate all the incredible little things we do every single day and who we are, right now. I call it self celebration. Being your own inner cheerleader and reminding yourself, you’re doing your best." Sarah Powell
This week I'm joined once more on the Practical Magic Podcast sofa by friend of the show, and friend indeed, Sarah Powell. Sarah was on the show in June 2018 talking about making the space to find purpose, which she well and truly has, and it's BIG.
I've invited Sarah back onto the podcast to talk about her work with Self Celebration, what it means and why it's so important that we learn to celebrate the tiny wins we achieve on a daily basis. Sarah shares her journey to get her to this work, and ways in which we can bring practical and pragmatic action into each and every day.
As Sarah says:

How often do you feel that you're living your life with the volume turned down to that annoying volume where you can hear it, but not loud enough to make out what's going on? Or like you're watching your favourite film with a filter over the screen so you can just make out the moving parts, not the detail?
This is what it can feel like when we're living a life outside of our own, or we're living in a way that we feel we 'should' be, rather than living in, and on our own way.
If you long to a life where you're dancing to the beat of your own drum, and doing that in high-vibe disco ball technicolour shine, then today's show is for you.
On today's Practical Magic Podcast I'm talking about why it's important for us to do it in our own way, and sharing 10 ways in which you can become a soulful rebel in a sea of normality.

We're a sum of our experiences, aren't we? Or are we? How often do you find yourself stuck in fear or procrastination because you think it's all going to go epic-scale disaster movie based on one thing that might have not worked out in the way you thought it was way back when? Or you have the voice of other people in your mind on repeat telling you all the reasons why X = Y, and that never ends well?
Well, one thing I've learnt as an NLP practitioner, and liver of life, is that shit goes down, but it's never quite as monumental as we think it is. And what, just what would happen if we could use a simple pre-supposition which could change the emotional and mental chatter that tells us we're crap, and everything we touch turns to shit?
On the show I'm sharing one of the simplest NLP techniques... ever, which when you adopt it into your every day, can change the way you perceive the idea of failing.
I'm also sharing launch news of The Awakening, a new festival of self care and wellness taking place on Isle of Wight on 8&9 June 2019.

This show is dedicated to a sense of wholeness, and how we can bring in more of the principles of the divine feminine, or feminine wisdom, into this crazy, mixed-up world we live in. And my oh my, do we need it now more than ever.
Where we've disconnected from ourselves, our communities and nature, it's time to turn the tide, and bring in the aspects of the feminine which work to bind our connections to each other, along with our emotional and physical worlds.
I'm sharing wisdom from some incredible women, including Mary Portas, with an extract from her recent book 'Work Like a Woman, A Manifesto for Change', as well as quotes from Clarissa Pinkola Estes' seminal work 'Women who Run with the Wolves', as well as a few words from book 'Qoya, A Compass for Navigating and Embodied Life that is Wise', Wild & Free, by the founder of Qoya, Rochelle Schieck.
I also share the pillars of feminine wisdom that I live and work with through the strands of life, and invite you to identify how they can be interwoven into your life too.

This week I'm in conversation with Jade Shaw about the fascinating subject of out of body experience (OBE), otherwise known as Astral Projection.
Many people have heard of near death experience, where people witness seeing themselves in the environment they're in at time of near death, or talk about floating towards a white light, but out of body experience is something which we can consciously choose to do to help us shift out of our perceived reality to gain more spiritual awareness to bring into the everyday.
On the show
Jade shares here own story of how OBE has been in her life since she was a child, and how her experiences with OBE as an adult have helped shaped her path in life
The difference with OBE and near death experience
How we are more than just our human, physical bodies and experiences
How working on different levels and layers of consciousness bring more possibilities to our worlds
Ways to share your truth without feeling judged
And how Jade's work processes enable her to create and share her work with the world in creative ways.

Join me for the most delicious conversation as we round up the Practical Magic podcast interviews for 2018. I'm in conversation with founder of Sister Stories and documentary maker, Gemma Brady.
She has dedicated her life to creating spaces for people to tell important stories, be it on film, in writing or in their community. She believes in the healing power of storytelling and the power of the generous acts of both speaking and offering deep listening.
Gemma created Sister Stories as a means of offering women an opportunity to come together to be seen and heard, experiencing the transformative power of simply being given to the space to be truly witnessed. Grounded in the primal and magical traditional of storytelling, Sister Stories events invite women to depend their sense of connection to the self and one another, experiencing the simple joy of knowing we are all in it together. What started as a simple women's circle gathering in London has grown to a thriving, supportive movement with 15 women leading Sister Stories gatherings in their local communities.
We talk about the importance of sitting with others in conversation, and why sharing stories is so intrinsic to be human. It really is the most gorgeous podcast, and I could sit and listen to Gemma talk for hours, so do enjoy.

This week I'm in conversation with a dear friend Lorna Harris, who's recent photo she posted on Twitter of her dad's attempt at baking her a birthday cake after her mum died went viral.
It was his act of genuine warmth and kindness in the most difficult times of grieving that led to big, open-hearted conversations about loss and love around the world.
Join us for this very special episode dedicated to changing the conversation around grief, and how, yes, it's hard -- one of the hardest things you'll ever do, but it can also be utterly beautiful too. So, let's ditch the stigma and start talking.
Do reach out to both Lorna and myself on social media if you wish to talk more, and find out about Lorna's incredibly important work for the Childrens Society too:

I'm flying solo on this week's Practical Magic Podcast to talk in more depth about self love following on from my conversation with Gozen Girls and Wild Woman founder Donna Hay last week.
On the show I'm covering what I consider seven pillar which are fundamental to support our self love, and how we show up fully formed, and fully human in the world -- unapologetically so.
Take a dive in and enjoy the self love ride.
Have you met Donna Hay yet? She's an absolute breath of fresh air. She's the founder of online book club Gozen Girls, and the founder of the UK's first non-fiction book subscription box for women WILDWOMAN. As someone who's been suffered with mental health challenges a sustained period of grief, she found book to be the cure for her.
This week on the show, Donna and I are in conversation about Self Love, which is the theme for November's WILDWOMAN box. We talk about why it's so much more than bubble baths and spa days. More so, that it's the ultimate act of living unapologetically and in the fullest expression of ourselves to live a fulfilled life for ourselves, and to be of service to others.
The show is packed full of useful information and tips on how to bring self love and self care into the everyday.

I'm flying solo this week with one hell of a pep talk for you, because it's time to move beyond those limitations and fears which may be holding you back.
I'm pulling out the big guns to find out why we can do extraordinary things and pull through feats of adversity, and yet when it comes to living a life on our own terms, we so often hold ourselves back.
On the show I share with you:
This week, I have the pleasure of speaking with author, visibility strategist, serial entrepreneur, and more importantly mum of three Suzy Ashworth on just how we can live a limitless live.
In this vibrant show we talk shifting our perspective and mindset to up-level our inner game, giving ourselves permission to set clear and limitless intentions and accepting our quirks and imperfections. Hell yes to that!
Suzy also shares her big, audacious mission to impact 1 million female entrepreneurs helping them to achieve economic freedom in their businesses so can do do good shit in the world AND live a life of limitless experiences.

I'm flying solo this week to talk about learning about our own rhythms and flows.
We live in a really odd world where outdated models of the '9-5', working longer hours, being in push, and working like machines and looking outside of ourselves for validation has been celebrated... until now. But, we're not machines, we're human beings made up of bio-electricity, and like nature around us, we can't be forced or contained to work in a certain way. It just doesn't work.
So, what would life be like if we are tuned into our own natural rhythms and cycles, you know, like nature? What could we learn about ourselves which helps us live in a much more aligned way?
On the show this week I'm talking about the natural rhythms and flows that go on around us, and within us all the time - seasonal, menstrual, lunar, circadium and ultradian, and many more besides. And how when we're tuned in, we have better mind, physical, emotional and spiritual health, as well as being much more creative and productive.
This week I'm joined in conversation by guest Katie Brockhurst, author and social media expert. She's been using social media in her work since she saw the power of channels such as MySpace to disrupt conventional marketing rules to engage with people on a more personal level, and how channels such as Facebook and Instagram have become a source for us to communicate who we are, and how we connect.
On the show we talk through some of the subjects in Katie's new book 'Social Media for a New Age', and just what it means to create and communicate in ways which are personal, subjective and unique, not matter what size your audience.
So, whether you're running a creative business, and you want to learn more about how to use social media effectively, whether you're interested in the deeper conversations about our relationship with social media and the impacts on sense of self, or you're looking for ways to become more authentically visible -- there's something in this show for everyone.

On World Mental Health Day, I'm flying solo to talk about the important subject of being aware of the impacts that stress has on our emotional, physical and mental health.
I'm sharing some of the ways that long-term stress affects wear & tear on our bodies, and our lives, and ways in which you can start to take notice of just how it might be affecting you, without you even being aware.
This is my rally cry for you to take care of yourselves. It is my wish that all of us become more aware of what's going on, so we can take better care of ourselves and our health, or to look out for other people who may be struggling too.
If you need to get in touch, you can email me on kate@katetaylor.co
In this frenetic world where our to-do lists are off the page, and there's constant distractions vying for our attention; it's not surprising we feel overwhelmed. With stress, anxiety and depression in the increase maybe it's time to get back to basics to help us all to get a little more balanced, and basically learn how to chill the f out.
On this week's show, I'm in conversation with the one and only Tamara Driessen AKA Wolf Sister, who's here to help us bring the ancient technologies of crystals, tarot, reiki and Shamanism (earth magic) into the everyday.
We talk:

As women, each of us is affected by our energy month in and out dependant on our menstrual cycle, and this week I'm talking with women's coach Claire Baker on how we can get in flow with our cycles to be more in tune with all aspects of our lives.
Your monthly, Aunt Flow, the curse, your bleed. Period. Whatever you call your menstrual cycle, fact is it holds such infinite wisdom and power. And yet, it’s still such a taboo topic. I’m so honoured to have womens coach Claire Baker On this week’s #practicalmagicpodcast to help bust some myths around our cycles, and how we can actually work much more in align with our flow to live a more creative and empowered life.
Believe me when I say, you don’t want to miss this one. Claire shares the seasons of our cycles and what we have to understand about our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs in each phase.
Sometimes searching for purpose can feel like the pot of gold at the elusive end of the rainbow, but what if we come back to centre to realise that we are living purpose each and every day?
This week, I'm flying solo to talk about simple and effective ways in which we can find purpose in our lives through our values, being of service, our passions and our why.
We all desire to live a life of meaning -- to know that what we create in our lives an leave a lasting tribute to everything we've stood for. Living a life on and with purpose. Quite often living with purpose can seem too big, too out of reach, just... too much.
But what if living on purpose is something which can be done each and every day by being of service, redefining our narrative, and choosing our perspective?
Well, it's this and more which I am conversation about with author and entrepreneur Jessica Huie MBE.
Join us for this engaging and rich episode in which Jessica shares her journey, how we can live a life on purpose and the permission to embrace our true calling.

Following on from my chat with Pandora from Rooted London last wee on the body / intuition connection, I'm sharing simple and effective ways in which you can develop your intuition. And why intuition never goes away — more like it gets drowned out by that attention-seeking sibling the ego.
On this week's show, I'm in conversation with Holistic Nutritionist and Life Coach Pandora Paloma from Rooted London on the importance of connecting into the body for emotional and physical health, as well as intuitive life guidance.
In our conversation we talk about:
How often do you find yourself frozen in fear? The abject fear of getting things so spectacularly wrong, that you don't even start - procrastination hits and your motivation nose-dives.
This week, I'm flying solo to talk about what's really going on behind the fear of failure AKA FOFU (fear of fucking up); how it fundamentally ties into our root identity through a real fear of shame; how you can identify if you're being held back by fear of failure; and useful ways to help overcome it.
Failure is something which has been part of writer Siobhan Curham's narrative over the years -- from a writing apology letters for finding cockroaches in food through to being dropped by her first publisher, and spectacularly burning a baked chocolate cake the very same day.
On the show Siobhan shares her story with failure, and how she's taken it as a creative approach to doing some of her best work. Siobhan also shares her brilliant process for overcoming failure.

...Sorry about that!
How often do you feeling like being busy is just something that is part of your life? Do you feel guilty when you sit down to relax - making a mental run through of your to-do list, and the things you've not yet done?
In this world of being 'on', we're overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected and have little room to breathe, let alone room for creativity. Well, I want to put an end to that, so this week I'm advocated for the power of doing nothing - of white space - of being bored as a way of sparking your imagination and creativity.
So sit back, plug in and enjoy 10 minutes of space just for you this week.
I have the pleasure of being in conversation with singer and artist Starling, as we dive into the most divine and rich discourse around creativity and crafting a handmade life.

Let's explore the mind-body connection. Let's go on a journey of discovery into our inner space; this incredible vessel we have attached to our heads.
On this week's show I'm flying solo to talk about having connection and communication with the body, and how it will tell you more about the direction in your life than a library full of self-help books.
On this week's show I'm talking with author and blogger Alice Judge-Talbot, who's new book 'The Back-Up Plan' helps to look at what to do when your idea of the Happily Ever After doesn't go the way you're expecting it to AKA LIFE!
On the show we discuss:

This week on the show, I'm talking about the elusive work life balance, and why in fact I think it's yet another thing that exists for us to give ourselves hard time. And that in fact, life is best life from a place of wholeness, rather than waiting for those spinning plates to come crashing down.
It's said that we take in up to 34GB of information through all our senses each day. I'm fascinated by this, and the impact it has on our thoughts and motivations, which is why I'm talking about it on the show this week. I share how I became aware of the impact of unconscious messaging on my energy levels and burning out by something as simple as looking at a piece of artwork each day.
On this week’s show I speak with creative coach, writer, podcaster, and the founder of One Girl Band, Lola Hoad. We have a great conversation about community over competition - how our businesses and creativity do better when other people are involved. You can also look forward to great tips for practicing self-care, taking care of your mental health, and setting better boundaries.

On this week’s show I’m talking about resistance, i.e what happens when we get stopped in our tracks by that impending sense of doom, or creeping niggles to not get ourselves out of a comfort. I talk about ways in which we can lean into resistance, and how it can actually help us grow. And why getting underneath the resistance to find out what it’s got to say and what we’ve got to learn from it, and where these might be old stories and old patterns of behaviour to break down the through the wall to get to the other side.

We've all had those times when we secretly wish our bestie's life wasn’t so damn perfect. And, yeah those times when there's been a hidden desire to wish ill fate on everyone who’s doing so much better at this thing called life than you might be. These thoughts are malicious to say the least and can leave us feel like the world’s biggest loser. Yes, your inner critic is turning you into a bitch, so let's talk about it.
