All silliness aside, sorry this took longer than it should have, we recorded this a week and a bit ago but this past week, actually let's be honest, the past month has been stupid and constantly busy!

However as an episode, this was pretty nice and relaxed, we kept going over Edlraine cards and seeing what jumped out to us. We cracked one of the packs the WotC sent me after the Streamer event. Oh and we even went over the new sets that were announced shortly before we recorded. We might have been a tiny bit salty about another year of mostly rehashing old planes but at least it will be nice to see Zendikar now that it's....un-eldrazied? Since their whole culture was kind of built on the fact that the eldrazi effed up the plane's mana while they were locked away. Heck I guess that does sort of make Zendikar a whole new plane, maybe I'm just salty because I really like the eldrazi as a race.

Either way, we also talked a bit about the un-set, un product? the un thing thats coming up because Miriam and I are both easily swayed by dumb silver borders, which reminds me we also went over those My Little Pony cards, which as a reminder are still for sale. and before anyone gets on me for "but they're $50 for three cards" Yeah, they're utterly unique silver bordered silliness and $30 of the $50 is going to Extra Life and benefiting Seattle Children's Hospital. Also there are some really nice playmats with the My Little Pony Art they're selling for $100 for the set of three where $80 goes to the same charity. Yes, Really.

Sort of out of nowhere both Miriam and I decided we were so hype for ELdraine we'd give that whole, we run a podcast thing a shot again. And It went.....actually yeah that, it went.

We briefly covered our long absence, basically we both got busy and the whole ravnica thing turned out exactly how we were afraid it would cough Niv-Mizzet died of screen and we only found out in the final set, you know the one where stuff happens, because he found a way to cheat cough. Soooo Yeah, we were gone for basically a year between that and just Core Sets have never buttered our biscuits to use a colloquialism that isn't local to any of the people on this cast.

But we did get to go a bit gaga over some beautiful art and flavor.....what's the opposite of a flavor fail? Flavor success just doesn't have the same flair. So please join us as we look over a smattering of the Throne of Eldraine cards and stair at their pretty art and focus WAY too much on what fairy tales and stories they're evoking.

This, is the first session of our Ravnica D&D campaign for folks at the Conductor tier, its also the only one I'll be posting publicly, all the rest will be available as well as the engine room segments from before and after the sessions, to folks at the $5 tier and up.

Before this starts I'd like to say that several sessions later I realized just how bloody stupid it is that I set this in the 10th district and I did eventually retcon that. But to begin, our brave adventurers join together for some drinks around a table in a poorly named bar.

Here we'll introduce you to Asterios, the most friendly Gruul minotaur you'll ever meet, whose just a bit too willing to put anyone and anything through a table. He's basically trying to start an independent wrestling organization without realizing that's what he's doing.

Up next is Eddie, a half-elven fire dancer from among the Rakdos, basically read as teams mouth piece despite relatively low charisma, but still high compared to everyone else.

And of course the closest thing the team has to a healer Mayjah, a Loxodon Cleric of the Selesnya Conclave.

And their Contact on this job Sardk. So now join our grand adventurers as they solve a heist and maybe a murder mystery, or just accidentally stumble into solutions. First of all, yes, that is a robot dragon from Chrono Trigger in the thumbnail. Look, there may or may not be a robot dragon in this episode and there may or may not be any good sources for a clockwork dragon as doofy as the one Stark described, so we decided this is probably the best example for a hypothetical maybe monster that was not been confirmed to be in this adventure or not.

Ok rambling about dragons aside, this was a wonderful end to Stark's Adventure. We continued on as we began last time, with the silliness ratcheted up to 11. Anything more than that, well, it just feels like a spoiler.

And please remember that after the first Ravnica Episode these will be moving over to Patron Only, so if you’re enjoying these please consider backing our Patreon

First of all, no I did not make up that name. I asked Stark and he told me that was the name of the Dungeon we ran through. Second, welcome to the first of three of these audio files I'll be putting up publicly, both here, on the website https://www.patreon.com/lairoflore

This is the first episode we recorded of our Conductor RPGS.
(this is only kind of a lie as our Ixalan Campaign was recorded and not all the episodes went up but they're pretty universally not great recordings, I deleted the source files so the stuff that I still have is real low quality)

But this special little madness is an adventure that Stark found and suited him so well he decided it would be the perfect thing to try on his first DMing expedition, and I freaking agree. This adventure was amazing and really let Stark lean into some cartoony silliness. So please enjoy and come on back in a few days for episode 2 and the first episode of the new campaign a few days after that.

I'm only like a week behind posting this instead of two so this is an improvement right? This was recorded something like 2 days before the full Ravnica Spoiler was dropped on us so Miriam and I just sort of decided screw it, let's looks through the cards and see if anything really jumps out at us.

We mostly focused on the Multicolored cards, look its Ravnica that's what we're all here for, and being us we ended up having a whole tangent discussion focussed on the weird design changes that seem to happen to vraska in every set she appears in.

Apparently I'm a fool and never finished rendering this episode. Miriam and I recorded this about a week and change before PAX west so we had no spoilers or anything like that to cover so instead we decided to do something we've been threatening to do for a while, an artist episode. We each picked an artist, forgot to tell eachother who we picked and then discussed why we picked those artists.

Miriam chose Matt Stewart and I picked Chippy. I'd rather not spoil our discussions too much both of them are amazing artists, though Chippy has largely move away from MTG, we found a single source saying he now worked for Valve, but we couldn't really corroborate it. Below you can find both men's personal sites as well as some of their best, or at least our favorite work.

So this episode starts out a bit rough and on sort of a negative topic, I'm sorry for that but it should be discussed. It recently came out that Wizards hired a new person as the Senior Franchise Narrative Designer, and it came up that said person had some troubling stuff in their past. We're mostly trying to set the record straight here though, we don't know when he was hired and has been in his position long enough to deal with the dominaria story issues.

Second while his book "Girls" is not currently in publication, as it was published fifteen years ago and was a version of his Master's Thesis for Brown University, the bits that rise to the surface quickly are uncomfortable at best, "narrated by a composite of middle-aged male voices - all wealthy and powerful - who have one thing in common: a desire for pubescent girls." From the Interview with Nic Kelman by Jill Adams. Nic has since been quoted as saying that he wrote the book to avoid becoming like the men in it, but I don't know if that really makes it better.

It's best to remember that this was 15 years ago, and he has certainly had time to mature and change, it however made us really look into his credentials to supervise a massive franchise narrative, which is where we found our real issues. We mostly referred to his interview with Gathering Magic where he makes it quite clear that what is important in his creative department is that a story is told and that it's done by either larger authors who can bring an audience with them, or by new authors who will have to come to Magic to build an audience. To facilitate this he sees the characters as at best archetypes, a piece of the story that new writers can use as they see fit, not as a character. Essentially it highlights exactly our concerns with Magic story. Nic has taken the wrong lesson from superhero comics, thinking that the audience wants to see the spiderman origin story again every time a new author takes over. No there's a reason MCU spider man needed no introduction, you can find a five year old who know the story of uncle Ben. What we need is author's to respect what came before, or in the case of Dominaria, actually be told what came before, and then take a character.

With that rant over, I promise it's a much shorter part of the show than the paragraphs make it seem, we move on to Commander 2018 cards. We made it one card in before we ended up on a tangent examining the art for Aminatou, and then getting even more focused onto the artist themselves. Turns out Seb McKinnon does some of our favorite art we forget about too easily. Plus we're three days to late to plug his very successful Kickstarter to run play mat printings of several card arts.

Holy Hell Miriam and I finally had a kind of short Episode! And by kind of I mean less than 40 minutes! We recorded this on Monday morning so most of the cards had not been spoiled, so we had 5 cards. 5. But we covered them as well as the Guildmaster to Ravnica thing which is absolutely glorious!

Yup we are back. Sorry about the massive delay between episodes. Miriam was moving for the first two weeks and last week I slept in. Well here we are to talk about the m19 previews as well as why we think we'll be switching up the way we do our story episodes. It was a weird episode I'll be honest, we were both kind of sleepy and loopy.

This was a relatively simple episode, which of course means that despite essentially just covering the Battlebond preview cards, spoilers we're pretty hype on them. Turns out that we are suckers for multiplayer sets, and especially ones with a stupidly high power level. Plus, the world looks awesome and is basically just an entire plane focused on tag team wrestling.

I'm Amazed this episode didn't go longer. We managed to whirlwind through two magic systems, even if one of them is only complex in its implications, an not in its practice. We are once again running through magic systems used in Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn Serieses. Last time we covered Allowmancy, a magic of preservation where power is drawn from outside one's self and exchanged for something physical in a one-to-one trade.

In This episode we are looking at Feruchemy, a magic that requires temporary exchange one a piece of one's self in order to draw on that piece in more controlled bursts in the future, and Hemalurgy, a vicious bloody magic build around laws of decay and the transfer of intangible abilities.

Yeah We had fun with this one.

Somehow we figured we were going to talk about the Story Spotlight cards from Dominaria and their implications, then move on to a non magic related topic, and record two short episodes and be good. instead we managed to make the Story Spotlight cards and half of our original topic into an hour and a half long episode, we are bad at this game. We are back again, almost like we have a regular schedule or something. Well not too much to cover in the show notes since we're basically just covering the previews that were available yesterday.

We opened up talking about the Card Chewie and The ManaPool previewed about 13 hours before we started recording, Evra, Halcyon Witness, and then fell down a lore hole to get the old school references. http://themanapool.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/TMP-DOM-card.png

Eventually we moved on to the rest of the cards with a special focus on Legendary cards because there are so many and most seem quite awesome. https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/card-image-gallery/dominaria

This Episode was recorded on Monday April 02 so we did not have access to even most of the spoiler when we recorded. However, we are still attempting to pursuit our usual strategy, for those who don't know we have not and will not be reading any of the official story until we have seen most of the set if not the full spoiler. Miriam and I both hope that we can at least figure out some of the story from the cards because lets be honest here folks, a lot of people aren't going to real the magic story or even those little info snippets that have been shown about all the legendaries.

So far I don't think the story was coming through too strong but we had almost no cards so that's fine. What we did have was the mechanics article and the a whole bunch of Sagas. This episode pretty quickly devolved into trying to figure out what any given saga was the story of and I will say, we both loved them.

And here are link to everything we used/talked about in the episode.

Well, Last week we for some reason legitimately believed that we could get through the story of Ixalan and Rivals of Ixalan in one episode, and boy were we wrong. So I would give you some nice indepth show notes, but if I did that I'd basically just give away what we talk about so not going to happen. I will warn you that I personally had a LOT of anger about the final paragraph thing, so be prepared.

We were apparently too ambitious here, somehow we thought we were going to be able to make it through covering both the Full Ixalan Story and the Rivals Story. We ended up giving in and just doing the Original Ixalan Story and leaving Rivals for next week. And of course we go massively off topic and dive into random silly side topics. Anyway there are a few swears dropped by miriam, however since we haven't put out a real episode in a long time and editing them out would delay this even more I've left them in.

If we are being technical this might actually be episode 30 something but honestly, we recorded, and live streamed, episodes during Amonkhet, Hour of Devestation, and the kaladesh blocks, but some of them just never went out to youtube, our site, or mtg cast, and they are too far gone to really waste everyone's time with them, so here we are.

So here we are now, back to recording these and putting them out in the old format, albeit with video versions as well. So lets go on in and start talking about Ixalan because Miriam and I are HYPED! Miriam loves pirates, and we both love making fun of Jace, and I Love dinosaurs. Basically we are both going to be building some awful tribal decks in edh once the second set comes out.

So Let's go in and cover some of the cards we've seen thus far.

Also, I meant it, if there is a legitimate Dinosaur deck in standard, I will build it and take it to some kind of Tournament. You can find everything else we do over at

We are back this week and instead of talking about the just landslide of random new cards from amonkhet we haven't covered yet we decided we would instead return to our favorite segment, planeshift. We are here to come up with some rough outlines for player character races if you were to play D&D on Kamigawa. This is a thing wizards has been doing with the new sets but we like to go back and do it with older sets. Apologies, there is a bit of a jump at one point where I have to edit out a swear, and we up until the very end forgot about the orochi, but we remembered eventually. Sorry we missed out on last week, but we are back and mostly survived our live episode this week. We mostly just focused on the previews from Amonkhet, some how we keep managing to only get one episode in each set looking at new cards, not sure how we manage that but it could probably be worse. We also briefly touch on some of the story that has been developing for the set but we think we'll be focusing a bit more on that next episode, or simply recommending you go listen to Unspoken Realms, just remember production time is a thing so they're usually a few weeks behind.

This is the very first in our Patreon only Series, the One True Host Runs...., in this case, the Curse of Strahd. However seeing as this is the first episode ever, we decided to make it available to everyone, all substituent episodes will be available on our patreon. All following episodes will also have a video component but don't worry, the big focus really is on the game play, which is all audio, we don't use miniatures or anything.  Well, I would now like to let past me introduce this and our players, enjoy. Well before absolutely anything else, we both feel the whole controversy about the invocations is dumb, if you don't want them please feel free to send them to us. Also There is an issue with my audio in the beginning of the show and we fix it about half way through, sorry it was so quiet. Lastly, My opinions on Announcement day being dumb and it failing this year are my own and not the Lair of Lore's over all, but if you want to get the full fury behind those opinions they will be in the extra bits.  Now then unto the topic at hand, our Shadowmoor planeshift. We did a run through of all the races from Shadowmoor we feel like deserve to be a playable character race in our hypothetical multiverse wide D&D game.As with Lorwynn we decided that the giants, treefolk, and Faeries were either to small, large, or significant to be player characters, However Shadowmoor brought out some new races. Namely the Duregar, the Hobgoblins, selkies, noggles, and pucas. We ended up deciding that the duregar and the hobgoblins were significant enough to warrant races but not the other two, sorry but donkey people are more of a gag than I would personally like to try DMing. Otherwise we covered and included the remaining races from Lorwynn, the cinders, formerly flamekin, the elves, boggarts, kithkin, and the merrow. As with episode 20, sorry this is so delayed, I had a bad couple of weeks, one I fell off the wagon for posting VODS and such and the next was spent feverishly trying to catch back up, but just a reminder that we will be going live with episode #22 tonight, around 6 pm mountain time at https://www.twitch.tv/lairoflore For Planeshift Shadowmoor, so please come and join us. As for the episode, there is not a ton to say. Once again we manage to be done in a pretty reasonable amount of time and cover all the important races of Lorwynn for our purposes. Quick aside in case you haven't heard or seen any of our previous episodes. we have a semi running series called planeshifts. In these episodes we look at different planes in Magic: The Gathering and try to figure out which sentient races, usually ones capable of receiving a planeswalker spark, would make a good player character race in Dungeons and Dragons. We then do some very rough design work trying to figure out what the racial bonuses will be, and I do mean rough. Fair warning, we skipped treefolk entirely, because of their long lives and weird view on more traditional mortals, and well their size, we felt they just might not work for a player character in D&D. Basicaly the same story for Giants, just too big and on Lorwynn they do some things angels are responsible for else where, being judges and arbitrators at least partially because of their size and lifespans. On the other hand we skipped out on Changelings because they are not fully sentient and faeries because we are not sure they can even have a planeswalker spark since Oona sort of creates them from nothing to serve her purposes. First of all, sorry this is so extremely delayed, its been a rough couple of weeks for me. So this is one of our weirder episodes, we're mostly just hear to cover any and all new art from Modern Masters 2017. So without further adue, sorry I know the podcast is coming out a week late but it was live and recorded on time, it just got lost in the bustle. Sorry this episode got a bit delayed behind all the Overwatch stuff that has been happening just before and since its live recording. The long and short of this whole episode was basically, we Finally did a kind of short episode. We very quickly and briefly covered all the promotional info that had been available about Modern Masters 2017, head ups not really our thing aside from any new art we get but there wasn't a ton of that at the time, and still isn't really.

The meat of the show was about all the pretty, and in some cases slightly dumb art we have now seen for Amonkhet. We dove through a plethora of what appear to the Plane's gods as well as some gorgeous full art lands; beautiful Raymond Swanland art on the Archenemy deck box, and some planeswalker art varying between stunning and a bit derpy.

You can see what we are talking about right here.

So, our prediction kind of came true. Part of the reason we did our extremely rough planeshift a few weeks ago, is that we were hoping it would make the universe try and course correct and create a true planeshift, and hey it did. And it was even on the wizards website instead of some other awkward place it could have been. So we are here to spend basically this whole episode talking about running a campaign on Kaldesh. Spoilers, we really liked this planeshift, not only did they do some fluff stuff to address how all the classes and backgrounds would work; they did race break downs for every sentient race on Kaladesh, not just the varieties of humans. We get humans, dwarves, with some unique racial stuff since they're sort of mechanics on kaladesh, elves in two varieties, and even the aetherborn. Up next we got a fair few creatures, again as usual, most are just how to reskin existing creatures to fit, but we did get some legitimate new ones, like the sky leviathans and gremlins!!! Which I'm way too happy about. Long story short, we really liked this one, and suggest you all go check it out if you like D&D or Magic at all. http://media.wizards.com/2017/downloads/magic/Plane-Shift_Kaladesh.pdf also, if you'd like to help play test the artificer class you can check that out here too, not legal for the adventurer's league, but it is pretty interesting, sort of a healer mixed with some heavy damage, but it does feel a bit week compared to other classes until they start getting lots of magic items. http://media.wizards.com/2016/dnd/downloads/1_UA_Artificer_20170109.pdf You can find everything else we do over at  http://lairoflore.com/ or if you want to support our show and everything else we do you can do that at https://www.patreon.com/lairoflore Where even a dollar a month gets you the derpy puppy feed. This week we are talking about some of the classic characters from the Kamigawa block. These are probably going to be a semi regular episode where we talk about old stories and old blocks. This unearthed focuses mostly on Konda, the villain of Kamigawa block, or more accurately the inciter of the story. While he had good intentions Konda started the Kami war, leading to mortals across the plane being butchered by the spirits they worshiped. However, his daughter, whose birth was the catalyst Konda used to start everything rolling, ended the war and pretty effectively returned peace to the plane. We talk a bit about both Kondas, a few of the Nezummi as well as a good few of the other Legendary Creatures in Kamigawa, and a bit about the strangeness of its design and why despite having significant effort put into lore the card design is notably weaker than most sets before or after it. One other warning we give a few times in the episode, next weeks episode will be recorded live on Thursday instead of Wednesday, so it will be delayed coming out by one day on what ever platform you listen or watch it on. So this week, we realized that there was no Planeshift for Kaladesh, so we decided to do a bit of one ourselves. We talked a bit about the past version of the Artificer, a class that currently does not exist in 5th edition dungeons and dragons, as well as how we'd prefer to see it work. We also did some very broad-strokes designing of how an aether born would work as a playable race, with out biggest focus being on their short lives, ability to take outside life into themselves to prolong their lives, and the emphatic abilities their creation gives them. Oh and we briefly covered the close of the Kaladesh story line, which we agree sort of felt decent but also like they just wanted to get Ajani into the gatewatch sooner rather than later. We also discussed how the entire point of having Ajani is to have a wiser and cooler head, which the other 5 immediately decided to ignore. We love you kitty man, sorry. This week we decided to try and check out artificers from magic's past and try to figure out how all the different planes of the multiverse see these masters of technology. Hello all, we are alive and in fact have been attempting to produce podcasts the entire time we've been gone since July. However we kept trying to use Skype and mp3 skype recorder, both of which decided that they did not wish to be part of these endeavors any more. So, several months, a depressing election and some horrible personal shit later, we are back. We are recording successfully using discord, mostly, the first part of this is recorded with google hang outs which craps itself a lot near the midpoint, sorry for any swearing and just general anger. But We're jumping into Aether Revolt, just a bit late, to talk about the mechanics, the five "story cards" though one makes no sense to me personally, and just some silly cards we really enjoyed. By our standards it is a down right short and simple episode, but we are back in the swing of things and we are even doing the show live every Wednesday night. You can check out all of our contact information, like twitter, facebook, patreon, our email and youtube accounts, and finally our twitch Chanel. Please come and join us, the Lair of Lore is doing a 365 day streaming challenge, with something happening every single day of the week including a live D&D campaign, the podcast recordings, Mass Effect Mondays and Sunday Night Blood Bowl. Nothing extremely amazing this week, we are talking about all of the Official Magic Stories for Eldritch Moon, or at least all of them save for the last one that came out on the 27th. We don't have anything particularly nice or mean to say about the stories but I am rather concerned about how much stuff they need to wrap up in this last story we haven't covered. Otherwise the stories have all significantly improved since the boring tripe of I Am Emrakul. We do spend a fair amount of time just sort of rambling about stuff and I complain about not being able to go to a pre-release. Thanks for listening and sorry about the missed week. We have finally reached the end of the Eldritch Moon Spoilers, thankfully we've already gone over most of the big important cards, save for Imprison in the Moon which we covered pretty quick. After that we're honestly mostly talking about cards that we find cool, so moslty me gushing about awesome art and the drone pack and Miriam digging out some stranger cards. Oh and of course we had a dumb flavor text reading competition where we make fun of all of Chandra's text's and boy does she have some doozies. But hey go check out the actual spoilers yourself. The second piece of our show we are covering the Planeshift: Innistrad module. We don't love it as much as Planeshift: Zendikar. Our biggest problems being that the writer only did stat-ing for humans and didn't go into enough detail for all the specific things for Innistrad, like stichers and ghoulcallers and such and how to make them work. More than anything it feels like a fluff module, in-fact the final eight or so pages are how to convert the Curse of Strahd Module into an Innistrad setting. If you want to hear us try and do a more in depth version of this making most sentient races playable and trying to grock some of the weirder classes on Innistrad, try checking out Labyrinth of Lore #8 Vampires and Stichers? Yup, we've got yet more spoilers to cover. Yes, we still don't love the story that got us here but we are finding plenty of cards we love. Oh and we're correcting a mistake we made last episode about meld cards and Ken Nagle's long con to implement them. Sadly not a ton to really talk about in terms of new stuff, I Mean we talked about Stardew Valley because Hailey was playing it in the background. We had some interesting discussions about Mirrorwing Dragon because it does some nephilim style stuff. We talked about my love of the drone pack and other silly dumb cards. More importantly My loving Significant Other Hailey has begun producing some magic themed art for sale. The Selesnya and Simic Guild symbols are for sale at DallasinDenverCrafts on Etsy and if you like her art or her style she does also take commissions, Everything bellow was made by her. We are talking today almost exclusively about the Edlritch Moon Spoilers. Yes, we still don't like the story progression here, but the cards, well the cards are freaking sweet and we've yet to see any we didn't like. We're mostly going over cards we particularly like for what ever reason, and where available we tried to talk about the cards the corrupted creatures are referencing, such as one of my pet werewolves being implied to be the flame heart werewolf from the last set. We ran through the mechanic's article, talking about the three returning mechanics very briefly and then going over all the new ones more indepth. We did not talk about clues and investigate being gone, but seriously, the new clues would be, "you look up at the sky and realize the mystery." After that almost everything came from mythic spoiler as the wizards site still has that fun thing where cards don't show up in the card image gallery until the day after they're spoiled at the earliest. We did also have a brief conversation about the Elder Dragon Durdle podcast run by an old friend of mine. Mostly because of his photoshop of the flying spaghetti monster over Emrakul and how it made sense. So go check them out here too. We are back after a short hiatus due to the weird beginnings of summer. And of course we are back right after they announced the set symbol for Eldritch Moon and it confirmed our suspicions! Of course they also showed us a trailer, and Emrakul the Promised end, as well as a few other cards we'll talk about. Ok to be honest I was calling Emrakul's return but I was not hoping for ANOTHER EPIC PLANE WIDE BATTLE! Ok with that out of me seriously I was hoping that Emrakul would keep subtly corrupting things, even just hover over the plane away from everything, not just arrive and go, hmm this town on the coast looks delicious I'll eat that and turn half its populace into slavering monsters. Frankly this set is starting off feeling like the new hearthstone expansion that has a bunch of "corrupted version" of existing cards, but then I might just be bitter. Any way we talk about the new cards that had been revealed so far, Emrakul, the Promised End, and the actually sort of annoying story that talked about her summoning, Coax from the Blind Eternities, the Eldrazi Wish card that unlike Spawnsire of Ulamog is reasonable, and the weird half of a transform card, Hanweir, the Writhing Township, that's enough said about that. Lastly we talk about Ulrich, and I'm calling him that because I can't stop thinking of him like the failed stormcloak wannabe king. Yes, Ulrich of the Krallenhorde is our first Legendary werewolf, and I tend to agree with many other people he is sort of underwhelming compared to some werewolves we've seen before, but beggars can't be choosers You can find everything else we do over at http://niian.net/ or if you want to support our show and everything else we do you can do that at https://www.patreon.com/lairoflore Where even a dollar a month gets you the derpy puppy feed. The one good thing about our recording being delayed is that we get to talk about an extra OFFICIAL MAGIC STORY! Yup, its another magic story recap episode, but with some extra fun stuff included. We open up with a discussion of Promises Old and New A story focusing on Sorin Markov and Olivia Voldaren. We do an extremely quick review of the story, but the basic idea, Sorin needs help, specifically in the form of an army, and Olivia is one of the last vampires capable of assembling her entire house together. We do also get some flash backs to Sorin Creating Avacyn and the Helvault. Up next is Liliana's Indignation, the long and short of which is, Jace is rather dumb and kind of an ass. He tries to mind read Lili, and accuses her of making the cryptolyths, frankly we're not sure why Lili didn't just kill the bugger. The Lunarch Inquisition is a story establishing the founding events of the Order of Saint Traft, with some seriously amazing story stuff happening here. We also get a better look at just how screwed up the Lunarch council is, with at least one of the top members possibly being the leader of the Skirsdag. We also get to see Odric and Thalia begin taking a stand against the atrocities of the council. Stories and Endings is actually sort of a catch all, it does a bit of perspective jumping, and we get a few cool stories from different planes, and a few short stories that feel more like Kamigawa proverbs, but its fun and advances the Shadows story pretty well, and it the first real introduction of Tammiyo. The final story before Our big shindig is I Am Avacyn. Most of this is written from a First person perspective from Avacyn. We see the strange warping she's seeing in the world, Jace's words appear as snaking horrible worms to her, Sorin's Blood is made of blood sucking lampreys, its some messed up stuff. And it concludes with Avacyn's Unmaking and the note that we'll have no more stories directly in the Shadows over Innistrad story line until June 8th. After this we have a brief discussion about Announcement day and we talk about the new set, Kaladesh, set on Chandar's home Plane, The new Planes Walker decks that will be replacing Intro packs for future sets. And we talk about The new Four Color Commander Decks that will release near the end of 2016. Finally, our Big thing for this episode, Games, This is a series of letter written back and forth between the Necrowarfare specialist siblings, Gisa and Geralf. You'll just have to listen to find out how much we're doing for this. Welcome to Episode 2 of my Sci Fi movie review. This week's episode, The Matrix. I am planning on doing one of these for each movie in the series, so make sure to look out for it. The Matrix came out in 1999, and was directed by the Wachowski Sisters, and it was one really cool film! I especially enjoyed the cinematography, which I go in to depth about in the podcast. A basic outline of the plot: The film starts with software engineer/hacker named Neo searching for the an answer about what the Matrix is. Trinity puts him in touch with Morpheus who offer Neo a chance to find truth. Neo takes it and is thrust into a reality different than the one he thought he knew. Humanity has been over taken by the Matrix and serves as nothing more than batteries to fuel the AI reality system. As Neo is adjusting to the reality that he now knows is worse than any he imagines, he is told by Morpheus that he might be "The One" a messiah, who will save humanity from the machines and save the world. Hello and welcome to a new podcast on the site! I figured my knowledge of Sci-Fi films was severely lacking, so in an attempt to fix that I will be watching and reviewing 50 classic films, and doing a quick podcast of what I think of them.

This is where I got my list, and I will be adjusting it as I go, taking things off that I have seen and adding others that sound cool.

So we've been talking for a while about making decks with a flavor backing, so we decided t try and brew up a very bare-bones skeleton of an Avacynian Inquisition Commander Deck. The link to the tapped out page is bellow so you can see our full list. We did 35 of the possible 100 for an edh deck and tried to mostly stay away from lands or color fixing. The big themes we focused on were humans, angels, equipment, and a minor transform sub-theme. We did try to keep this tied to the two Innistrad blocks, so there are a ton of cards that we could have used but did not fit as well as we would have liked. I think the only non-Innistrad block card we included was the original Odric, which I feel still fits. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/on-air-flavor-deck/ You can find everything else we do over at http://niian.net/ or if you want to support our show and everything else we do you can do that at https://www.patreon.com/lairoflore Where even a dollar a month gets you the derpy puppy feed. Once again, the day after we recorded episode 4 Wizards put out a cool new thing that was right up our alley. So lets talk about playing D&D on Zendikar. There is a ton of stuff to talk about here, they've built out some nice characteristics for all the big races, though humans are still rather boring, but they usually are in D&D. We do a "quick" rundown of what each race does and then we talk about how all of the different classes would work on Zendikar. Hope you enjoy it. JEEZ! This was going to be a short episode because we did not have a ton to talk about, The flavor decks have been delayed because, well the same reason we missed an episode last week, I had to go out of town for a thing that turned into more of an Omni-shambles (Nicer way of saying Cluster-F$%!) And Miriam was just extremely busy. We are still expecting to put them together and beat them against each other. This episode we decided to talk about beginnings with magic, turns out Mirriam started way before me but left for a long time until I came in. Miriam talks a bit about some of her early cards and the ones from when she came back to magic in late original Innistrd block, while I ramble all about Scars block, yes seriously I abso-freaking-lutly LOVED Scars block, I am an infect player, and I'm sorry, but I'm not sorry. This might actually be our shortest episode. We cover the most recent official magic story, at the time, and complain a bit about it mostly because well Jace. But after that we cover our basic plans for next week, some flavor based decks we'll play against each other. And finally we make it to our main topic, talking about the flavor of the mechanics in innistrad. We mostly focus on how flavorful and well set up Madness and delirium work with established ideas like discarding being the removal of pieces of a person's mind and how it leads to delirium very nicely. Eventually we finish up and start rambling. Hope you enjoy. Its hard to really go in depth with what we talked about without just giving it away, so hey give it a listen and you'll get a rough outline of all The Magic Stories so far for Shadows over Innistrad. I would mostly suggest just reading them yourselves but if not, we'll give you a simple break down of all of them. Enjoy.
