Today Wednesday, Sept. 12 we will have a very special guest on the Lid Radio Show, Brigitte Gabriel, Founder and Chairman of ACT for America, one of the leading terrorism experts in the world. Ms. Gabriel regularly provides information and analysis on the rise of global Islamic terrorism. She lectures nationally and internationally about terrorism and current affairs. Her expertise is sought after by world and business leaders and Ms. Gabriel has been named one of the top 50 most prominent speakers in America (note I wasn’t on that list so I must be #51).
Ms. Gabriel and I will be discussing her great new book, RISE, In Defense of Judeo Christian Values which was officially published yesterday on 9/11 appropriately on the anniversary of America’s worst attack of terrorism. The book is available now at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com and other great bookstores.
RISE is a great is a great book that unlike other books by national security scholars doesn’t speak down to the average American. It is filled with real data and compelling facts that will both anger and frighten you about how the dangers facing the Judeo-Christian values that built the U.S. to be the greatest country in the world. RISE explains how a coalition of liberals and Islamists are using political correctness and the biased media are preventing Americans from learning the truth about those dangers. While we might feel warm, cozy, and protected, we are not protected. That same political correctness combines with government incompetence leave the average American vulnerable to terrorism

Facebook has become an extraordinarily powerful gatekeeper of information and a severely irresponsible one, relentlessly censoring conservatives and voices of freedom, and running interference for the left and Islamic supremacists, and now it seems they are getting involved with the Democratic Party’s Russian conspiracy theory. And now we learn they are selling our personal data to the highest bidder.
With all this going on, it’s time for a Facebook expert, Thankfully we know one…today’s Lid Radio Show special guest is my friend and colleague Joe Newby, who has a cutting-edge blog, Conservative Firing Line, which covers the latest political news of the day, and who, along with co-author Adina Kutnicki, penned the book, “BANNED: How Facebook Enables Militant Islamic Jihad”
This week’s Lid Radio Show is a special one, our guest is Victoria Coates, Special Assistant to the President, Senior Director for International Negotiations, and member of the National Security Council for the Trump Administration.
Coates joined the Trump administration earlier this year after working for three years as a foreign policy adviser to Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX). Prior to that, she was an adviser to former Texas governor Rick Perry during his 2012 presidential campaign.
Victoria Coates has an incredible background story, she received her Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Pennsylvania in 1998. While teaching at UPenn she began to blog under the pseudonym “AcademicElephant” for RedState, where her writing covered mostly defense, foreign policy, national security. Aides to Donald Rumsfeld would sometimes slip one of her columns in his folder of daily reading, and he quickly became a fan. The former Defense Secretary got in touch with the site, telling him that he wanted to meet “that military guy,” only to find out that “she” wasn’t a guy and wasn’t military, but a brilliant historian and strategic thinker. Coates soon left academia to work with Rumsfeld on her autobiography.
In between her work with Rumsfeld and becoming Senator Cruz’s foreign policy advisor, Victoria Coates worked for the Commonwealth Foundation and the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.
Dr. Coates is possibly the most interesting guest ever to appear on the show. We had a far-ranging discussion where she explained exactly what the National Security Council does, and she explained the latest news about some of the hottest of foreign policy hotspots including North Korea and Iran. We also spent some time on her book published last year, David’s Sling: A History of Democracy in Ten Works of Art. (which sounded so interesting I just ordered it from Amazon).
To be honest, Victoria Coates was so interesting I wanted to speak to her much longer, but alas she has a country to protect, but hopefully, I will have the opportunity to speak to her again.
