We want to create a space to tell the stories of the city of Indianapolis and share the creative work of its people. Every new episode will bring you storytelling, performances, and interviews that shine a light on the cool things happening in Indy.
Joshua Powell and his band The Great Train Robbery (Adam Shuntich, Ryan Corlew, and Jason Boucouras) sat down in my living room to record an epic podcast episode. We talked about their inspiration and motivation as musicians, the heart behind the music they've created, and their desire to be a band centered on Central Indiana. We also talked about Korean revenge films and historic adult film theaters in Indy, so it goes without saying that this is a NSFW-ish podcast.

In this episode I sat down with Steven Shattuck, chief engagement officer at Bloomerang and most recently executive director of Launch Cause. This new co-working space at Bloomerang's offices at Fort Ben was created with non-profit organizations and the people who create them in mind.
Steven and I talked about innovation in the non-profit sector, how non-profits and the start-up economy connect, and how the benefits of a co-working space allow non-profit organizations and their creators to grow and become successful.
In this episode I sat down with Anita Johnson, the proprietor of Great Fermentations, a retailer that sells craft home-brewing supplies and gives expertise to those interested in making their own beer and wine. Anita is a true beer-lover and has been for decades. We had an excellent conversation in which we talked about the history of Great Fermentations, craft beer and home-brewing in Indy, and what beer culture means to the city.

I sat down in the studio to talk to Graham Brown, creator and owner of United State of Indiana, who's USI flag t-shirts and stickers can be seen all over Indiana. We talked about the inspiration and development of USI, what has changed about his company and his life since then, and what it means to live in Indiana.
And from there, our conversation went deeper, talking about the nature of political art, cultural disparity in Indianapolis, and Graham's desire to create something that challenges that disparity, even if it makes people uncomfortable. It was a fascinating conversation.
