- He cares for us beyond our present needs

- The fact of his resurrection is an earthquake in our souls
- The truth of the resurrection changes us in lightening speed
- The life of his resurrection washes us white as snow
- We need to reject a self centered type of faith
- Jesus did not come to set up an earthly kingdom
- There was no triumphal entry, but there was a triumphal exit 7 days later.
- Putting lipstick on a pig, doesn’t make a pretty swine
- It is blindness to ignore our real defilement
- God always starts on the inside and works out
- To counter the narrative of this world is threatening to them
- Rationalization that violates scripture is always wrong
- To be real, worship must go to the heart not just the lips
After Jesus walks away from Nazareth, turns his back on Herod, and dismisses the multitudes he fed, he proceeds to reveal his true kingdom to his small group of followers.
- He does not ask for what we do not have, but he does ask for what we do
- He directs ministry through us
- We always end up with more than what we had when we started when we put it in his hands
- They knew Him too well
- They refused to take the leap of faith
- They limited His work through unbelief
- We will not change the realities of the Kingdom
- Themes of sin and God will run side by side
- Those who advance will draw fruit from the root
- The Father is the one who searches for us
- We are the one who has wounded Christ
- He is the one who has covered us with His beauty
- A kingdom of Christ followers is His treasure
- He is filled with joy seeing the end
- He has purchased the entire field
Matthew 13
- Jesus anticipated church history
- Jesus is engaging us in the historic struggle of the kingdom
- The truth triumphs in the end
- You are good where you are
- The world continues to be influenced by His kingdom
- The Imitation Game is coming to an end
- Parables shade the light so it can be seen
- Parables draw us into truth that we would otherwise reject
- Parables are hard to forget
- Striving for morality can blind our eyes to a Savior that simply wants a relationship.
- A relationship with Jesus Christ fills the empty place in our life.
- Christianity is believing that the will of God is accomplished through a relationship with Christ.
- It is evil to seek Christ for the spectacular
- The great sign is His death in our place
- The wisdom that pours out of the redemption is beyond fathomable
- There is a miraculous transformation that takes place when we surrender our hearts to Christ.
- There should evidence of our transformation in the way live every day.
- We have been transformed for a purpose.

- Our sabbath rest is not in a day, it’s in Jesus

Jesus reassures his followers that they are in an eternal relationship with both he and the Father. Our reward for serving 'little ones' is eternal.
- We are all one family
- We receive one another because of Christ
- Our reward for kindness to others is never lost
In Matthew 10:34–36, Jesus said He came to bring a sword, an instrument which divides. His mission is the cut us off from this present world. In doing this He would set children against parents and vice versa. The love of family should not be greater than our love for Jesus Christ. A true disciple takes his cross and follows Jesus (Matthew 16:24). He must be willing to face family hatred and even death. What we find when we follow Him, is the peace Jesus intended for us.
Three Thoughts
- He has severed us from the world
- We live in hostile territory
- He must be our supreme relationship and love
Christians are identified with Jesus Christ and based on that identification, we make a great confession to this world. The Bible paints a picture that humanity needs to be redeemed by the gospel. Those that follow Jesus and have rejected this world are servants to the Master.
- Jesus was scandalized, misrepresented, misunderstood and accused of being a devil.
- Continue to proclaim Truth, no matter the cost
- Our Confession is our union with Christ
Jesus sends us out as sheep among wolves. We are to be fearless knowing the Good Shepard watches over us. We are victorious through Him who lives in us.
Matthew 10
As Christians, our time, talents and treasure are gifts from God. We should minster to one another in an unselfish manner and cheerfully give without expectation.
Jesus calls men in the flow of their ordinary lives to reflect the extraordinary eternal message of the gospel.
In Old Testament times, God was very specific about worship. The Jewish yearly calendar included seven feasts or festivals to commemorate their deliverance from the Egyptians. We will briefly cover the seven festivals and then dive deeply into the one called Pentecost or Shavu'ot.
Interruptions at work can be maddening. Researchers at the University of California, Irvine, found that the typical office worker is interrupted about every 3 minutes. How did Jesus handle interruptions? In Matthew 9, we'll see how He makes time for people just like you and me.
Matthew 9:14 speaks to the inflexibility of the religious. Jesus is teaching us that HIs grace will not fit into old wineskins. This new wine is His life and it is for every believer.

The bible is not given to us as a proof for the existance of God. It is a revelation of God. We will use the ontological, cosmological, teleological and the moral law arguments to prove the existence of God.
