Loose Records
Italian label Loose Records was established by Mario Manganelli and Rino Cerrone (who also run Rilis and Unrilis) in 2006 as an outlet for inventive, underground techno with a fresh perspective. Rino himself has long been a bastion of the Neapolitan techno scene, whilst Mario, too, has been promoting nights, running clubs and unearthing techno talents ever since the 1990s. Together the pair has a great understanding and has managed to mix up established talents with bright new comers, making the label a go to place for fans of proper techno. Releasing both club ready EPs and full length artist albums in vinyl and digital format, Loose Records has worked with the likes of Luigi Madonna, Tom Tades and Uto Karem amongst other great artists and is very much known around the world for its quality output.

“Hold Me Down” - Bumping an earth-shaker of a bass game, the script gets flipped with some high-pitched robotic vocals that bring a playful duality to this track, all while maintaining a serious approach to timing and structure to provide a masterclass of what this genre is capable of doing.
“Mood” - Tinny drum machines at a sprint set the pace well before a wash of bass-infused tech effects kick up a retro ride that is sure to please fans and newcomers to pure techno alike. Viciously danceable and full of surprises at every turn, the spirit of this track certainly has variety, and promises to bring elements that anyone can enjoy.
“Palindrome” - Throbbing like a warehouse-sized heart, the intro paints a picture that envelops listeners in classic underground vibes, playing on proven staples while throwing in some wonderfully playful synth effects that keep the game inventive and fresh. One can’t help but move to beats like this, and DJs will not be disappointed spinning this banger to any crowd.

Dialer - Boasting a rhythm that is sure all but flatten listeners everywhere, this track carries a rhythm that can only be described as enormous, beating from what can only be a gargantuan reservoir of energy that loses neither traction or power from beginning to end.
Twenty Seconds - The title track blasts into high gear out of the gate, speedily taking flight through a range of effects that include the alien and the classic. Analog - Throwing in some Christmas-esque bells to stir up the pot at the intro, the twists on this track can’t be predicted or ignored as the mastery behind the decks shines into new depths of creativity. Classic warbling techno play enters the scene soon after, and it’s all listeners can do to hold on and see where this song will go next.
Mountain - Epic echoes and a resounding tech-heavy rhythm open like a cavern around the beat here, making for a hypnotic style that begs to be replayed again and again. Backed up by vocals blending a subtle mysteriousness and sex appeal, there’s more than plenty to love on this track for anyone.
Grey and White - Keeping the minimalist game high, an eerie spirit permeates this track like a ghost in the best house party imaginable. Frenzied drums, heart-thumping clap effects, and synths on steroids all get plenty of action here, delivering a beast of a song tech heads and festival goers alike can celebrate.
Neutron - Taking a machine-gun staccato approach to the classic techno drum line, listeners are soon lifted up on a volley of trance-enthused synths, coupled perfectly with dungeon-esque vocals that complete a dark but thoroughly catchy picture. Staying danceable and eerie is no easy task, and the challenge is met to great success on this track.
Bass 7 - Cracking high-hats set the bar at the ceiling before tearing the roof off with a journey that includes euphoric synthesizers, wailing bass, and vocals that bounce between haunting and suggestive. A truly explorative endeavor, the artist brings plenty of A-game inventiveness for everyone to enjoy here.
Ortin Cam, “Trim” - Pure joy bounces out of the intro here in a way that is almost cartoonish as the claps join in, chiming along with the same mirthful beats before being joined by even more upbeat notes that push the tempo to new heights. As fun as it is, this track is a complex one, dropping listeners at the halfway point then hoisting them up again into some serious hit territory. Whether blowing out the club or pulling the curtain on some smaller scale good times, no DJ could go wrong spinning this one for whoever’s up for quality electronic music.
Loose Records’ newest Guest Mix is provided by DJs Microvibez and Roel Salemink. The Fantastic duo only recently released on our label an interesting Single titled "Bell Bottom". Their partnership melds Salemink’s mastery of tech and house music beautifully with Microvibez’s skills as both a techno producer and well-recognized live performer. The collective work of two proven masters is only bolstered by the inclusion of a remix of the title track by Tomy DeClerque, who has seen his generation of local Slovenian DJs earn global recognition since setting out on his own career. His vision and abilities have taken him to the forefront of his musical territory, making this EP a surefire snapshot of electronic musicians at the top of their game.

Ortin Cam, “Trim” Flavio Diaz Remix - High hats skip over a floor-shaking bass in Diaz’s remix, playing with the sweet simplicity that makes the original shine so brightly. Inventive and surprising, listeners are treated to strange but effective experiments here, as what sounds like splitting fruit heralds crackling synth percussions, then an almost 90s-feeling tropical influence that is dramatic, fun, and definitely too interesting to listen to only once.
Ortin Cam, “Take Over” - Sprinting out of the gate with another thoroughly catchy beat, robotic warbling and hissing effects slither out from under instrumentals that climb to mind-blowing highs. All of this would be enough, but the track blows it all out of the water halfway in with an absolute blast of a beat, throwing listeners into an all-out frenzy that won’t leave anyone standing still or able to forget this hit anytime soon.

Microvibez and Roel Salemink “Pure Analogue” - The title promises a return to basics, and delivers on this promise a uniquely underground feel. Subterranean beats slowly escalate to the clapping techniques of decades gone by, but the sound is still infused with new energy that seizes on a climb that is truly stunning within the first third of the song. Strange voices, frog-sounding vibrations, and jungle-inspired instrumentals chime in to make this fly music, all working together to make this a brave and hit-worthy track.
Microvibez and Roel Salemink “Bell Bottom” - Slamming the beats to ground without a moment to spare, rhythmic underlays demonstrate the complexity of the expertise on this track. Upbeat, whisking effects coupled with high hats lead a safari through all kinds of wildness here, bringing the thrum of great dance mixes with an ambient flavor that show listeners both artistic maturity and good times to be had.

Listen LOUD and enjoy Guest Mix #032 by Tony Dee...Based in the south of Italy, He starts really young his dj career developing his technique and experience in the clubs of his own city. In 2008, at the age of 21, he approach the electronic music production and in 2009 he release the EP ''Naranja Juice'' (Underscore). The italian master "dj Simi" become his first supporter introducing Tony to the ''Angels of Love'' crew where he plays alongside Erick Morillo, Locodice, Steve Bug, Livio&Roby, Jeff Mills, Carl Craig, Francois Kevorkian… In 2010 the international debut in London as special guest at “Ministry Of Sound”. His technique and sound got the attention of the king Carl Cox who invited him to play on his radio show “Global Radio”. On march 2013 Tony goes to Miami for the annual WMC with a busy schedule: Space with Stereo Production, Clevelander, Delano, Tantra, The Station and guest dj to Miami's top radio Coco.FM with Hollen. After that Tony starts to play often and often outside his country being involved in all the music conferences around. His dj set at El Row in Barcelona during the Sonar 2013 is something really hard to forget. The Rares “Pressure” - A tremendously effective interplay of deep beats bounce across tittering instrumentals on this track, splicing crispness with beats that keep listeners on their toes from the get-go. As high-stepping as the tempo gets here, there’s room for all kinds of fun effects, from the echoing slosh of long metallic rhythms to slicing synthesizers, each taking their turn to bring plenty of good times to this track.
Alex Smott, Kostha, Elio Kenza “The Naos” - This highly danceable, upbeat track shows genuine complexity quickly, haunted as it is by a multi-faceted approach the DJ duo brings to the table. Darker rhythms get churned up as the track escalates to the bridge, creating winding tornados of sound that wind across the track, but only add strength to the tempo at work here.
Juan Ddd, Smilk “Hills” - A snapping party of tinny cymbals and claps rushes out from the intro here, right before in trance influences and some fun drumming interludes bring a varied sound to the track. Echoing vocals play well with the heavy presence of drums along this particular journey, making for an arrangement that takes percussion on a new ride under the expert guidance of the track’s duo.
George Adi “Rakette” - High hats get tapped with vigor at the intro here, playing well with the underlay of gentler sounds that lift the listener with an expertly executed subtlety. This approach makes for a beginning that is incredibly inviting with its gentle technique, which then delivers on the promise of bringing more to the base it builds from the start. The momentum is kept up with lots of echo effects, tinny chattering, and a consistent tone that draws an enjoyable ride from the beginning to the end.
The Rares “Brick Wall” - Never settling for the usual ride, this track kicks itself up by showing what an artist can do with ambience effects in an upbeat context. After establishing a steady rhythm, the halfway mark here surges into exciting new territory for this genre, showing how healthy experimentation can bring some true audible treats with it.
Tubeck “Escalate” - A deep beat pounds out of the intro here, hitting hard as the song is pushed forward by vocal pieces that vary from ghostly to declarative. The popping undertones on high hat drums scale upwards on a whirlwind that leads into almost complete stillness, right before dropping back into more old school-inspired techno samples. The track then rockets off again into rhythms that could find a comfortable home on any playlist, from the jungle-inspired to straight-up techno parties.
Pitt Larsen, INDR3N “Wow” - “This music made me feel free” stands out as the best lyric on this track, a sentiment that reflects the lively, energy-packed spirit at work during the entire song. Effects ranging from squishing, rubberized beats to cavernous bass drums rebound across each other before vocals, played through mechanical filters that bring a robotic tone to them, completing the picture of liberating escapism that the DJs revel in here.
On this issue of our Guest Mix we are proud to host our brother Hollen...a returns to the Loose Records family with his newest EP Quantize. His last released track with us, “Clips,” was appreciated by artists such as Joseph Capriati and Uto Karem. He released the Condenser EP, which gained interest and was well-received by Ken Ishii, Dubfire, Sam Paganini, Technasia, and Karotte.

Raw - Variety is the name of the game here on this track: thumping and skipping, deep basses and chopping effects all played over rising snaps and sudden windfalls of ethereal waves. Intense climbs find peaks on high pitches, all while making use of watery-sounding echoes mixed with ghostly vocals. The chaos is balanced and thoroughly danceable here, reflecting a professional who knows exactly what to do with so many different colors on his palette.
Runaway - Starting out with a blend of fast-footed rhythms, tinny high hats, and bass is great on its own, but the intro on this track is only a hint of epic twists to come. A rising anthem sneaks up from the background here, escalating into a fantastic, adventurous side of uplifting trance while never leaving the deeper roots at its heart. Hands are guaranteed to go up when this club-buster of a track is given free rein to captivate crowds everywhere.
Raw Etai Tarazi Remix - Deconstruction only leads to new highs on this remix. Etai muffles the original and breaks it up with slow hammering beats, all behind a rising tension of static that proceeds to take off into another direction with energetic high hats. The dance-worthy rhythm here is underlaid masterfully with interesting experiments in rattling drums and jungle-inspired percussions, all working together in a celebration of percussive experiments and bass lines that are sure to please listeners of every kind.
Quantize (Kalden Bess Remix) - Recognizing the remix potential of it’s original, the Kalden Bess remix of “Quantize” utilizes a power chord progression nostalgic to that of old school metal bands. The signal-feel is amplified in a more aggressive track providing a variety of uses. It’s not only a treat to those who have a background in music history but would be an ideal track for clubs or in between sets at rock shows to keep the crowd revved up and enthused.
Scientifically speaking, “The Seventh Sense” refers to the sense associated with dreaming and the subconscious. Audiomatiques draws upon this theory in his track. Using low but melodic tones, there’s something unusually and simultaneously calming and exhilarating. The blend of low and high tones as the song progresses makes this track versatile and ideal for any DJ or casual listener’s purpose.
“ECAI” is a fun and mellow track. Building off of the previous track, it relaxes the listener in a grooving style. The chord progression is enticing, subtly paying tribute to some of the phrasing jazz musicians might use. With the mellowness of the piece, “ECAI” would be ideal for a lounge setting or to give a breather to those at a festival.
Cohesive with the first track, “Fusion” takes the pace set up from “Next Stop.” The drum track faintly rattles and echoes, much like riding a train, before the melody builds up. Fusing with the synthesizers, the melody, pitch, and pace increases at the halfway mark using elements of traditional pop instrumentals to create a memorable track that would be very suitable to festivals.
The title track “Next Stop” begins with a very attractive drum beat and throbbing bass, giving the impression of transportation in the city. The beat is pleasing, building up its melody around the timpani. As the song progresses, the drum is periodically muted by synthesizers as if one is traveling through a tunnel to the next stop. This is a very pleasing anthem that would be ideal for a club or radio.
Finishing the mini-album is “Rainbow” Utilizing the bass to create an enticing melody as it’s brought through a synthesizer (and only then is joined by the drum track) hooks the listener. A distorted male vocal can be heard through the remixer, fading in and out, becoming part of the orchestration and pushing the piece to its climax. The piece ends on a satisfying note, much like it begins, rounding out the Next Stop mini-album. This track would be a terrific anthem with its versatile and very memorable beat.

Thanks to Fhazee for delivering is Guest Mix...Gionata Di Manno, aka Fhazee, born in Latina on 11.11.1979 approaches in the music world in the late 90s he, looking out the electronic music during his stay in Australia and Scotland where he performed in clubs. On his return, is greater interest in the production, he graduated from the Saint Louis College Course of Electronic Music and later attended training courses at various recording studios. His style is initially minimal where it reaches sometimes places in the standings on the Beatport Top 100, soon decided to move to Techno and Tech-house style. He continues to produce and perform in some places of the local area, also teaches courses in electronic music at the study “Stazione Musica” in Terracina.

On this fresh new Guest Mix Loose Records is proud to host on Japanese Duo DRUNKEN KONG...the project of D. Singh and DJ Kyoko. In 2010, the two started their project when one day, they suddenly decided to make a track together. Since then Drunken Kong focuses on experimenting with different styles of techno. Both members, coming from different musical backgrounds, have put their minds and energy in creating uplifting music.
Since the first gig of Drunken Kong at the end of 2011, they have been constantly active in the Tokyo techno scene, playing in major Tokyo clubs such as Womb, Ageha, and Air. From then on, they have also been expanding their gigs to other regions of Japan and Asia.
In early 2012, they successfully released their first EP on Rome based label Beenoise records. From then, they have also released on labels such as London based Twisted Beats and Berlin based, Parlez Music. The duo have also been active with the domestic labels as well, releasing an EP from Shin Nishimuras Plus Records and various tracks from Session Trax of Womb. Their recent release from Unity Record has gained support from very successful artist such as Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Bart Skils and more. Their release, "Beat It" has also been played by Adam Beyer in his famous Drumcode Radio #207.
D.Singh is a unique mix of Indian and Japanese. Studying in an audio engineering school in Los Angeles, he has primarily focused on making up- tempo music and started his DJ career when he moved back to Japan in 2008. Being influenced by the music culture of Japan, D. Singh created his solo project in 2009 named Noncitizen. Since then he had been playing at various parties in Tokyo and other parts of Japan. He successfully released his first track from D-Formations Beatfreak Recordings.
DJ Kyoko started her DJ career in 1995 playing reggae and then moved onto playing progressive house and techno. In 2001, she moved her career to becoming a trance DJ, which lead her successfully in the international scene, playing in various countries (US, Israel, China, Korea etc) and also giving her the opportunity to play in the Love Parade as the first female DJ.
The two have also played alongside internationally top techno artists such as Mauro Picotto, Speedy J, Gabriel Ananda, Gary Beck and recently with Axel Karakasis and D-Unity. While constantly loving and being inspired by the music, Drunken Kong constantly expands their possibilities while maintaining their quality work. With their powerful DJ styles and charisma, the two are able to constantly amuse the audience and keep the dance floor going while expanding their ideas and skills to the next level.

We can catch “Ultracurve” in another wave, remixed by Krenzlin, German Artist, resident at Tresor, who’s delivering a deeper underground version, with a cool energetic Detroit Techno Style. Fat kick and greatful old drum elements fused with a glorius synth pattern.
Raul Mezcolanza remixes "Rhombus", making a nice funk version. It' s a very articulate track made by an elastic Groove and very strong drum elements, of course a straight Techno stuff.
