In this episode, we delve into the power of brutal honesty with oneself and its vital role in personal growth and success. We explore how 'being on track' is a deeply personal and subjective experience, and how self-assessment is key to identifying what's working well for you, and where improvement is needed.

Through a conversation that primes your brain for positivity, we encourage you to be open to the idea that growth and success aren't linear processes, and it's okay not to be 'on track'. We also stress the importance of being adaptable and flexible, especially when faced with unexpected obstacles.

We then move into a three-phase approach to personal growth: assessing your progress, making necessary adjustments, and accelerating your efforts. We outline strategies that can supercharge your progress, from prioritizing high-impact tasks, streamlining processes, to leveraging your network.

Real-life scenarios are shared to give a better understanding of these strategies. For instance, maintaining a consistent workout routine, improving your grocery shopping process, or seeking continuous learning or mentorship.

Whether you are looking to achieve professional or personal goals, this episode is packed with insights and practical tips. Get ready to embrace a new mindset where adjustments are seen as opportunities for growth, and failure is reframed as a learning experience. Join us for a journey towards authentic success.

Today we talk about the drinking spiral that we are in often more than we know before my life was always about having a drink and now I do not have that need anymore. What does this drinking spiral actually do with us? I discuss this today with Kay Allison, she was a Senior Vice President at a global ad agency and a single mom as her drinking escalated to the point that she went alcohol-free. Kay has helped hundreds of women stop the drinking spiral and live wildly successful and satisfying lives substance-free using her Juicy AF program.

She’s the author of two books, including Juicy AF (alcohol-free): Stop the Drinking Spiral. Unleash Your Future, which will be published in January 2023. A year after going alcohol-free, she launched her first company, The Energy Infuser, an agency that helped Fortune 200 companies create new $100 million products and businesses. Together, those clients generated $2 billion in annual revenue. She went on to create The Energy Annex, a modern focus group facility that won World's Best Facility 17 years running. She co-founded Farm&Oven Snacks, a natural food company, and sold it 4 years later. She lives in a pine forest, meditates by a waterfall every morning, and loves her family. Technology! What does it actually do to us? What is important and how can you ground yourself with all the technology around us what is not good for our health.

Today we talk with Justin Frandson, he is an Athleticism Performance Coach that has worked with amateur and professional athletes for over the past two decades. He saw his athlete breaking down from the excessive levels of EMF from their SMART watches, wireless earbuds, and electric cars. He has tested hundreds of homes and clients. The Grounding Bags are hand-mined crystals with moisture and magnetic properties to ground and repel EMF, all for a deeper night's sleep. This is Mother Nature's way of protecting us from the excess rollout of man-made radiation, not a man-made device attempting to keep up with the other man-made levels.

Today we have the youngest guest I have ever had on the show, my sweet baby girl ❤️ and she made sure to give you a warm welcome!

Today is my birthday!

That makes me reflect on another fantastic year, and this year was even more special because of the birth of my baby girl, who is 6 months now.

In this episode, I discuss what is happening right now and what I experience being a new mom. I talk about the mom's guilt and how we learn from our baby and should reflect on what we feel and experience as a mom. It has taught me that I can only show up for my baby girl if I show up for myself. We cannot show up for anyone else if you don´t show up yourself.

Make yourself a priority even when you have a business, baby, or husband. Find harmony with everyone and make yourself a priority because if you don´t, the things around you will notice that ¨wrong¨ energy.

Last week Brittny shared about how to overcome feelings of hopelessness and despair and this week she’s piggybacking on that to discuss freedom and gratitude for the opportunities and daily things she’s afforded in her life. It’s so easy to get caught up in the negative, especially when that can make up the majority of what we see on social media, but there is still so much to be grateful for and we give our power away when we don’t believe that we can be apart of the change or that change isn’t possible. Brittny discusses her everyday freedoms that she’s thankful for, how she stays in her power when it feels like it’s being ripped away, and a practice you can do to show appreciation for your own freedoms and get back into a positive mindset!

She dives into why you can’t mourn your old self until you’re actually in the experience of change, allowing herself to feel both the pride in parenting and the guilt that comes up when missing having an hour to herself in the morning, grief and loss in forms other than death and how to honor that grief, matresence, the physical and emotional healing of parenthood and mourning your past self, choosing courage over comfort, and so much more!

From learning to manage depression and anxiety at the age of 13 she made personal development a non-negotiable. • The consequences of unprocessed emotions
  • Her personal experience with suicidal ideation and depression

After building a successful early career, Angelee realized she was living her life on autopilot. She had career success yet was completely burnt out, anxious, and unfulfilled (#relatable). After experiencing a period of serious depression, she decided to begin therapy which was when life changed for her. Therapy was the catalyst for her self-healing journey and led her to dive deep into practicing gratitude, yoga, and meditation. She was improving her wellbeing, but most importantly these practices led her back home to herself. Brittny and Angelee discuss the birthing of Manifest House and it’s incredible offerings, why Angelee began to journal and how that practice has helped her immensely, why she continues to journal, starting small and finding consistency, why you don’t have to make “all in” leaps to make progress in your goals, journal prompts, and so much more.

Brittny is back with guests and kicking it off with a discussion around human design and energy management with Victoria Jane. After a decade in Silicon Valley achieving everything she thought she was supposed to - a coveted career, great salary, and office stocked with organic avocados and espresso, Victoria was earthquaked into the harsh reality: she was exhausted, burnt out, and in danger of doing irreparable damage to her health. As she searched for how to heal both her body and her spirit, she discovered Human Design.

Brittny and Victoria discuss:

  • Human Design: what it is, how it works, and how it ties in with energy management
  • The five different types in HD and the seven different authorities in HD
  • Different variations (like thousands) in human design
  • Why success or finding purpose sometimes does require a waiting period and patience
  • How to know when something isn’t aligned or when you may be disconnected from your body
  • How to get more in tune with your body and intuition
  • Understanding your human design type and where to start

Learning her own unique design changed Victoria’s life. It reconnected her back to living in alignment with her energy and intuition, gave her permission to let go of the “shoulds”, and ultimately allowed her to come home to herself and begin living life on her own terms. Today, she guides growth-oriented, professional women to use Human Design to thrive with less hustle and more flow!

In this episode Brittny is sharing the importance of letting go of expectations in relationships and how emotional maturity lends a hand. Most of us carry around an invisible life manual and expect our friends, family, coworkers, partners, and anyone else in our life to follow said manual even if they don't know it exists and this is giving your power away. But, when we recognize our manual and take the necessary steps to letting go of it, our relationships can thrive. In this episode, Patrick shares:

Fabi is an International Corporate Lawyer turned self-love expert, public speaker, life coach and writer. But not without plenty of hurdles and missteps along the way. If not, start over. Make this a daily practice and commit to starting with 30 days.

CBD aka cannabidiol. If I had to guess, I’d say this isn’t the first time you’ve heard of CBD. Because it’s like super trendy right now. But to me (and my dog, Benji) it’s way more than just a trend. In this episode I talk to a good friend of mine Dawn Birch who is the CEO and Founder of Urbal Active, a high-performance brand of CBD-infused products specifically developed for those striving to live an active and healthy lifestyle.

Dawn gives us all the facts surrounding CBD products, benefits of CBD (for us and our four legged friends), debunks myths around CBD, and shows us exactly why she’s a powerhouse when it comes to her product-based business and lifestyle brand.

We discuss:

  • What CBD is (and isn’t)
  • CBD vs. THC
  • Urbal Activ’s unique approach to CBD and providing an all natural product to their customers
  • The benefits of CBD (hello, mood elevation!)
  • The legalities of CBD and THC products and how you could potentially get burned if you aren’t doing your research
  • Why CBD should be apart of your preventative health routine
  • Simple strategies that Urbal Activ helps customers with aside from CBD to give you the full package vs. the sale of a single product
  • CBD for your four legged friends
  • And so much more!

Urbal Activ has a store front location in Tempe, Arizona and also offers all their products online at https://urbalactiv.com/ and for 20% ordering all Urbal Activ products, use code BEKIND20!

Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back. I know it’s only been a few weeks but if you’re anything like me, I love routine and I’ve been slightly off of mine for the past couple weeks while I’ve been in transition mode between podcast seasons! SO, first off I want to start by saying THANK YOU. Whether you’re a long time listener or this is your first episode, thank you. This is the most consistent piece of content I’ve created since starting my business and it wouldn’t be possible without you!

Now, if you have been around, you probably received my last email. The one where I was called a moron. And if you read that email, you know that it was quite the gut punch. But it was also the source of inspiration that I needed and the inspiration behind this episode on how to take your power back. Back from words, back from ideas, back from negative thoughts.

In this episode I break down:

  • How to take your power back when you feel powerless
  • The power of healing through feeling
  • Working through a negative thought or story you’ve told yourself
  • How reflection allows us to work through our feelings
  • Taking responsibility for our actions versus triggers
  • And so much more!

“It’s about waking up and paying attention”

“Pick a mantra for life”

”You feel like you want to puke? Great! That’s a sign that you’re going in the right direction”

“I just decided to declare war on my own comfort zone”

“Figure out how you can not be one-dimensional, even if you’re happy in your current state”

“Everything that I do falls back to the three C’s - Culture, Community, and Connection”

These are just a few tidbits of a COPIOUS amount of wisdom that was shared on The Positively Real Podcast in its first season of life. If you listened to one episode, all 30, or somewhere in between I am so grateful for you, my friend.

In this season one recap I share clips from several episodes that I thought were profound and wrapped them all up in a neat little bow just for you. I hope it can serve as a bit of inspiration or motivation whenever and wherever you’re listening.

From self-love (in its many different forms), to sustainability, to goal setting, to habits, and far beyond, thank you to listening and loving. And to all my amazing and incredible guests that joined me and shared their wisdom, this podcast wouldn’t be the same without you!

Season 2 is just around the corner but until then, love yourself, own your happiness, and let your light shine because...you my friend, are so worthy of it ;)

“Everything is fine!”, “focus on the positive!”, “Hey, it could always be worse!”

How many times has someone said these phrases to you?! Better yet, how often are you using these little phrases - with others or yourself??

Putting rose colored lenses on during a tough time (i.e. a global pandemic, a cancelled wedding, the death of a loved one, the death of a job, etc) can be detrimental to our processing of emotions. But our emotions are incredibly informative! Which is why it’s important to recognize our participation in toxic positivity and take the steps to balancing when positivity is necessary and when it’s necessary to just sit in our feelings.

If you’re guilty of participating in toxic positivity, it’s okay my friend. I know I've been guilty of it many times in my life and like many other things, it’s a daily practice! The important thing is that we work on it.

In this episode I talk about:

  • What toxic positivity is
  • The tell-tale signs of toxic positivity
  • Falling victim to your own toxic positivity
  • Steps we can take so we don’t fall down the rabbit hole of toxic positivity
  • Toxic positivity and its role in spiritual bypassing
  • And so much more!

Is it just me or with all the current unknowns in our lives does it feel like we’re more doubtful than ever and questioning everything? Today I want to discuss how and why doubt is necessary and can be a good thing. Oftentimes we believe self-doubt is an indicator that you’re not supposed to be doing what you want to do but I want to challenge that notion. Doubt is necessary because chances are you haven’t experienced any meaningful growth without experiencing self-doubt.

The problem with self-doubt is that it undermines your goals, dreams and aspirations but we can actually use self-doubt as a form of fuel for those same exact goals, dreams and aspirations.

In this episode I discuss:

  • Breaking through our inner battles
  • Self-doubt as an indicator of aspiration
  • Self-doubt as a reflection of love and desire
  • Tangible steps you can use to cultivate a belief that self-doubt is an ally
  • Where self-doubt comes from
  • Accountability
  • And so much more!

Next time you are experiencing self-doubt I want you to give yourself some space and tell yourself that this is a sign you’re on the right path. This is exactly where you’re meant to be.

I met Alex many moons ago while teaching cycle at The Madison and I wanted to bring her on The Positively Real Podcast to talk about the importance of self-care through uncomfortable times (hint: it’s SUPER important).

Q: What is going onnnn with our planet? A: What ISN’T going on?!

Sometimes it’s easy to forget just how intertwined our lives are with not just our communities and on our planet but with ALL of the other circling planets. Maybe astrology is a little ‘woo-woo’ for you and you think horoscopes are B.S. and that's fine! BUT, even if you think either of those things or just haven’t thought about astrology and the cycling of our planets at all, I promise you don’t want to miss this episode of The Positively Real Podcast.

I wanted to bring on my friend Katie Zeman who is [newly] vocal about her astrology learnings to talk about how we’re being affected on a personal and a collective (national and international) level by the moving and shifting of our surroundings (i.e. our Solar System).

Katie Zeman has been studying astrology for over a decade and is currently building her astrology business. She considers herself a lifelong student as there is so much to learn and I am so happy she is here to share that knowledge with us!

In this episode we talk:

  • Astrological Mapping and its effect on us
  • Reviewing and revisiting past themes of our global climate
  • The retrograding of planets such as Pluto and Jupiter
  • Using astrology to aide in transformation and as a tool for growth
  • Moon cycling
  • The upcoming lunar eclipse (4th of July!) and why you should be aware of it
  • Shadow work
  • And sooo much more!!

Katie has a degree in western and eastern psychology and weaves this knowledge into her interpretations and her readings have been described as an in-depth therapy session (where do we sign up?!).

RESOURCES: https://www.instagram.com/zemamas/

ACTION STEP: Given the themes that were discussed in this episode I thought it would be really poignant to write a personal letter to our country (whatever country you may be from! This action step is inclusive of all countries and nations!). It’s not something that needs to be sent to the White House or anything like that - think of it as like a journal entry or a time capsule letter. It’s all about setting an intention of what you want to see for the collective that is your nation and reflect on our relationships with said country. See some prompts below to help you out!

  • What kind of new systems and structures do you want to see in place?
  • What do you want to see transform in this country?
  • What needs to change?
  • What is our personal relationship to the structure of our country? Do we benefit? Do we not benefit?
  • Do we feel at home in this country?

The Positively Real Podcast is back with someone super special! I couldn’t be more excited to share this special soul with the Positively Real Community. Sabi Kerr is a self-love coach and yoga teacher. She guides women to fall deeper in love with themselves and release the blocks they have to feel worthy, so that they can create magical lives full of passion and purpose. Through 1:1 coaching, workshops, yoga, retreats and group programs, Sabi's mission is to guide as many people as possible back to their natural essence: a place of deep self-love, self-acceptance and joy.

In this episode, we talk:

  • How you can allow yourself to feel without resistance
  • Becoming conscious of negative patterns and things that we resist
  • The importance of language in terms of self-talk
  • Toxic positivity and spiritual bypassing
  • Reassessing the meaning of ‘love and light’
  • Bringing the ‘We’ to wellness (because hellooooo, inclusivity!)
  • The importance of investment and education to anti-racism (way beyond just checking the box off)
  • And SOOOO much more!

There is so much goodness to this episode and I couldn’t be more grateful for Sabi taking the time to share it all here with me and with you.

ACTION STEP: Check in with how you’re feeling when you wake up and write it down. “In this moment I’m feeling _______.” This will help you to come to a space of acceptance wherever you’re at and shouldn’t take more than 15 seconds (how easy is that?!)

After one week of listening and learning, I wanted to come on and share where I’m at on a personal level with the #blacklivesmatter movement.

If I can be totally honest, I feel a bit ashamed that it’s taken something of this magnitude for my eyes to be open but I can promise you they are open now. Although my platform is typically used to promote self-improvement, this is not that. This is about changing the status-quo and being able and willing to do the work, to learn, to put an effort into understanding more, and leaning into the discomfort.

I believe this process is going to look different for everyone so I’m not going to give you a list of what to do however, I encourage you to be unafraid to have conversations, listen to podcasts, read books, and just be willing to start the process somewhere - wherever that feels right for you.

For me (and hopefully you too), this is going to be an ongoing practice because I refuse to pass this down through the next generation. I feel privileged to only be able to learn about this versus experiencing it like the BIPOC community. I hope you’ll join myself and hundreds of thousands of others in doing this work.

ACTION STEP - If you have not yet made a commitment to doing this work and/or are looking for an accountability partner in this, please reach out to me and I will be happy to be your accountability partner in this.

I’m back! With another solo episode and I have to admit, these are TOUGH for me. But that tells me a couple things - a) I need to keep doing them and b) it’s from the challenges that we grow, but I digress. This week's episode is all about my personal journey of mindfulness and how it’s saved me from myself..and I hope it can be just as helpful for you!

After growing up with an ADHD diagnosis and being prescribed Adderall for years, my monkey brain no longer felt the feelings which led me to ‘quit’ cold turkey. Once I did this I knew I needed to find something that was going to allow (and teach) me how to focus but not distract. This led me to yoga which then led to several different forms of meditation, and now, everyday mindfulness.

There is so much more to mindfulness than you may be aware and oftentimes it’s much more simple than we make it out to be. We explore several avenues of mindfulness in this episode including:

  • Meditation (and helpful meditation apps!)
  • Breathwork
  • Emotions as vibrations
  • Being mindful through everyday tasks
  • And so much more!

Mindfulness doesn’t take away anxiety, stress, overwhelm and fear or make any of the world's problems any less there BUT it gives us the skills to cope with them and makes them more manageable and that is the key!

**ACTION STEP: When you’re done listening to this episode, set a timer, and focus on your breath for two minutes. That’s it! Easy, right?

Repeat guests are kind of my thing which is why on this week's episode I have Dr. Sera & Dr. Keiko of Kinfolk Optimal Living back with me to discuss all things reintegration as we navigate a ‘return’ to our former reality.

As we start to poke our heads back out of our turtle shells and businesses are re-opening their doors, I couldn’t think of two better people to offer their guidance. At Kinfolk Optimal Living, Dr. Keiko and Dr. Sera help others to integrate emotions through our nervous system and process stored stress and energy.

In this episode we talk about:

  • Changing our behavior patterns
  • Plasticity of the nervous system
  • How to self-regulate emotions
  • Three states of the nervous system
  • How to activate our nervous system to alleviate fear and negative feelings
  • And so much more!

ACTION STEP: Implement heart coherence training by breathing into your heart space. First, focus your attention in the area of your heart, then breathe in for a count of 5 and out for a count of 5 and fill up with positive emotions. https://www.heartmath.com/quick-coherence-technique/

Oftentimes when we think of health we maybe think about how often we’re going to the gym or getting physical activity. Other times we may think of it as what we’re eating or how we’re treating ourselves and others.

As we kick-off National Women’s Health Week (May 11th - May 16th), I wanted to shed light on four different types of health all of which are pivotal to our overall well-being. Self-Care, Physical Health, Mental Health, and Spiritual Health. In this week’s episode I dive into ways we can uplift each of these four pillars to be our best and feel our best.

Women often put EVERYONE before themselves and forget to take a second to ask the question, “Am I taking care of myself?” Amidst the pandemic, now more than ever, it’s essential for women to make their health a priority. This week is an opportunity to encourage women everywhere to celebrate their health and make their well-being a priority.

In this solo episode I talk:

  • Mental Health
  • Spiritual Health
  • Self-care
  • Physical Health
  • My daily five checklist
  • And more!

ACTION STEP: Head on over to Instagram and be sure to follow myself (@brittnyking_) and @priscillaperezzz, where we will be running giveaways all week long to honor and celebrate the health of women everywhere during National Women’s Health Week!

Keepin’ it short and sweet and positive on this week’s episode of The Positively Real Podcast with Matt Peterson (back again!) interviewing me! We recap our last session before Matt takes the reigns, flips the script, and we get into some of my own personal past experiences.

We cover:

  • Making space for our fear and feelings
  • When you should be the smartest person in the room
  • The power of self-realization
  • Judgement of ourselves
  • And more

ACTION STEP: Take some time and write down a belief you have about yourself. Then get a little deeper and try to figure out where these beliefs come from. Was it something you were told by a parent, a friend, a coach, etc? Is it true? Is it worth holding onto or is it time to let it go and write a new belief for yourself?!

The year is 2019. Somewhere between October and December. You were creating a vision board, writing out your goals to cover several categories of your life, and ultimately ready for your best year yet. Am I ringing a bell?

When was the last time you thought about these goals? If a global pandemic happened and wiped away your memories of even setting these goals, you are not alone my friend. But it’s for this very reason that I wanted to bring on my friend Pia Beck to the Positively Real Podcast. Pia is the CEO of Curate Well Co. and is an implementation QUEEN. Her expertise is in turning your pain points into action items (aka goals).

Just because many things have been put on an indefinite pause, does not mean they are cancelled for good. And our goals certainly shouldn’t be either!

In this episode we discuss:

  • How to gain immense clarity
  • Certainty and confidence
  • Instinctual and strategic support to achieve your goals
  • The structures and systems to accomplish your big vision
  • Real life examples
  • And so much more!

ACTION STEP: Recognize and train yourself to fully believe that happiness is a choice and it’s available to you at any given moment. I challenge you to begin starting your day by asking yourself “what is one thing that will make this day fulfilling for me?” and do that thing!

Searching for a job is stressful and anxiety inducing. When the job search is not voluntary, additional pressure is added and urgency and fear is heightened. Now, add on economic uncertainty or a worldwide crisis, such as a pandemic, and the process becomes even more difficult to navigate. It can feel impossible.

To all the situations above, Melissa McGurgan has been there (minus the pandemic part). Having conducted two major job searches during the financial crisis in 2009/10 after being laid off, she personally knows how daunting the job search process can be. Through her own experience, she developed a system for job searching that prioritizes the best return for your investments of time, brain power, and energy. You may remember Melissa from a few episodes back where we discussed job security (and lack of) in depth so I was thrilled to bring her back on to get deep on action planning your next job search.

In this episode we cover:

  • Polishing up your application materials
  • How to go about finding a job that fits your criteria
  • Network leveraging
  • Actually launching your search
  • Landing the job
  • And so much more!

ACTION STEPS: Look at your network and contact one person and let them know that you’re starting your search/in the midst of your search/will be searching soon and make sure they know or remember you. Let them know that you would like to lean on them for support or a referral and want to say hi!

“What you fill your mind up with determines your outcome.”

The growth mindset is about your perception, belief system, and viewpoint in which you will either be pushed forward or be held back. The good news? If you’re in a fixed mindset or currently being ‘held back’, it’s not too late to change it! In fact, it’s never too late.

On this weeks episode of The Positively Real Podcast, I sit down with the one and only Darleen Santore AKA Coach Dar to discuss all things mindset. Coach Dar is a Board Certified Occupational Therapist, business executive, author and speaker, who is passionate about helping people break through barriers to achieve their goals.

Dar has made it her mission to help people say no to the status quo, to raise the bar in their lives, to break free so they can break through, and to reignite their hearts to live a purposeful life.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Growth mindset vs. Fixed mindset
  • Mindset reframing to move from fixed to growth
  • Keeping our mind, body, and spirit in consistent fluid motion
  • Brain body connection
  • Expanding awareness and knowledge to new things
  • Me to We/Get to Give shifts
  • And so much more!

ACTION STEP: Work on one thing that makes you feel better that will move the needle 1%. It can be as simple as showering, making the bed, or going to bed at a reasonable hour. Remember to give yourself grace. Reminder - It is a comma, not a period. A bad season does not mean a bad life. We have so much more to live and so much more to give!

He’s backkkk! If you’re a regular to the Positively Real Podcast you’ll recognize the voice I’m sharing the mic with (virtually always of course) this week and that’s the one and only, Matt Peterson!

Since Matt is, after all, the next Ryan Seacrest I thought it would be fun to flip the script and instead of me hosting any solo episodes, I’d have him interview me. This episode is a little bit coach meets client, a little bit coach turns subject, and A LOT of real life.

We talk about:

  • How to change ones outcome
  • Getting intentional with our time and our actions
  • CTFAR (Circumstances, Thoughts, Feelings, Actions, Results)
  • Understanding others experiences versus our own
  • Getting out of our comfort zones by accepting our feelings

ACTION STEP: As soon as you're done listening to this episode take a few moments and write down all your thoughts. Your notes don’t have to be clear or make sense. Just write down everything that crosses your mind. Thoughts are simply just thoughts and they don’t mean anything until you give meaning to them and this exercise is so helpful to understanding your thoughts and feelings.

As millions of people across the country and worldwide continue navigating a new life of working from home amidst a pandemic I couldn’t think of a better person to bring on than my own personal business coach and work from home expert, Stef Joanne.

Stef is an online brand and business coach and the founder of her signature program, Build Your Online Empire. She is a serial entrepreneur renowned for her self-made 7 figure online empire—and her refreshingly relatable and no-BS approach.

She has been featured in over 200 media appearances including Forbes, eTalk, Huffington Post, Hello!, Slice Network, Inc Magazine, Entrepreneur.com and has collaborated on marketing campaigns with an impressive roster of brands including Nike, Apple, Adidas, Nissan, and Lululemon

Her mission is to demystify online marketing for coaches, entrepreneurs, and marketers. To date, she has helped thousands of entrepreneurs learn, apply and leverage the power of branding and online marketing in today’s digital landscape.

In this episode we cover:

  • Work From Home best practices
  • How to figure out what works best for you individually
  • Time blocking
  • Transitioning from a traditional office space to working from home
  • Setting and managing boundaries
  • Quarterly/Monthly/Weekly planning
  • Preserving energy and time through organization
  • And so much more!

ACTION STEP: Get old fashioned pen to paper and brain dumb everything you need to do and need to get done (exercise, walking the dog, drinking your morning coffee uninterrupted, responding to emails, appointments, etc.) for a week and how much time you need to do it. Once you have everything written out, start to time block your calendar first with the things that are non-negotiable on timing (like appointments, meetings, calls, etc.). Once these are in, think about the other tasks and when you feel best or operate these tasks at your highest potential. Is it best for you to check and respond to emails first thing in the morning or does it make more sense to take care of this after lunch? When you have all your actions laid out instead of just in your mind you’ll have a better concept of how much time you actually have available and ultimately alleviate the stress of keeping your lengthy to do list only in your mind! Try this out for a few weeks and don’t get discouraged if you have to move things around. It can take time to get it down but I promise it’s worth it!

“Control what you can control”

Surrendering to fear and finding a sense of calm throughout the midst of the unknown can be extremely uncomfortable and can have us reverting back to old patterns and unfulfilling habits. Now more than ever, it’s time to take mindfulness to the next level. Not just using the terms and saying we’re doing it but really EMBODYING the state of being and getting to the bottom of our feelings.

In this [unplanned] episode I sit down again with Donny Starkins to talk fear - being afraid of what we can’t control, nervousness, anxiousness, and insecurities that arise for many during times of unknown (aka a global pandemic).

Donny is a source of inspiration and light in a world that can, at times, feel so dark.

In this episode we cover:

  • Feeling afraid and being okay
  • Tuning into our feelings
  • Letting go of what we can’t control (past + future)
  • Taking time to heal your body
  • Protecting our own energy
  • Practicing surrender
  • Picking up new hobbies (did someone say TikTok and ukelele?!)
  • And so much more!

Although we can’t predict the future, we will one day be able to ask ourselves, How did I handle myself? What did I do with my time? Where was my focus?

Now more than ever is our time to take the time and love on ourselves and our communities through new and creative ways that will ultimately help each of us find calm through the chaos.

As a thank you for being a listener I put together all the action steps from my guest on the show !

Click here to access your free action step guide!

In this episode, Brittny sits down with Leslie Silverglade, the founder and CEO of MIXT. MIXT is a fast, casual, and HEALTHY restaurant. I’m talking fresh and locally sourced ingredients on display, non-GMO, organic, nutrient-rich, WHOLE foods. Oh, AND IT’S DELICIOUS. Like soo so good.

But enough about the food because Leslie is so much more than the CEO of MIXT. She is an eco-entrepreneur, a sustainability queen, a go-getter, a changemaker and I couldn’t help but go full fangirl mode when chatting it up with her.

In this episode we talk:

  • The birth of MIXT
  • Making healthy and hearty meals more accessible
  • Going from idea to open in within a year
  • Creating positive changing habits in life
  • Food and sustainability
  • Debunking myths around eating healthy
  • The food and mood connection
  • And so much more!

ACTION STEP: Take a few moments to think about your environmental impact and see where you can make a difference. Whether it’s how you travel and the frequency of that travel (i.e. car vs foot) or minimizing food waste and limiting processed food we all have the option to make small, effective changes.

AND be sure to check out the newest MIXT at Scottsdale Quarter or a location closest to you!

Be your best today.

If you look good, you feel good

If you feel good, you play good.

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of sitting down with Jeremy Jones (no, not the professional snowboarder) but a pro nonetheless. Jeremy has truly mastered the morning routine and is sharing all his tricks that he’s learned over the years through copious amounts of research as well as trial and error. He is big on rituals and attributes these series of actions to his success.

Since 2002, Jeremy has worked as an elite personal trainer working with both competitive athletes and individuals wanting to create and maintain a healthy lifestyle. He has a plethora of certifications and is consistently continuing his education in the health, wellness, and fitness worlds.

Jeremy is the co-owner of Funk Fit and Cycle Ave both located in Gilbert, Arizona. He lives by the motto ‘1% better everyday’ in order to maximize your potential.

In this episode we cover

  • The power of a morning routine (your mom called and she still wants you to make your bed)
  • Having control over your day through intention setting
  • The benefits of keeping technology outside of the bedroom
  • The science behind forming {good} habits
  • Decision fatigue
  • The importance of consistency when it comes to routines
  • The recipe for having a good day!

ACTION: Start small - choose one of the three actions Jeremy incorporates into his morning routine (movement/breathing, meditation, or learning through educational reading or a podcast) and spend 5 minutes per day trying on your own. Don’t forget to focus on how this makes you feel and if you love it or start to notice a difference, be sure to let us know!

Lindsey (@llindseyschwartz) is the type of person you want by your side. She will pump you up and elevate you to the next level, whatever that looks like for you.

Lindsey Schwartz is an entrepreneur, top podcast host, and best-selling author. As a sought after speaker, Lindsey travels around the world, inspiring women to get out of their way and into action around their big ideas and helping them create their dream careers.

After seeing numerous women stop short of pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams because of fear and self-doubt. She saw the need for more honest conversations about the ups and downs of entrepreneurship to show women that they don't have to have it all together to get started.

From there, the Powerhouse Women community, annual event, and podcast were born, with the motto that we're not meant to do business (or life) alone!

I sat down with Lindsey over a year ago to pick her brain on what my next move was, and in that short coffee date, she gave me so much confidence that I was on the right path that I pretty much leaped into the unknown knowing that a net would appear.

The goodness we cover:

  • Growth is an ongoing process

  • How to get out of your way

  • How to stop playing small

  • Enjoying being a beginner

  • Perfectionist mindset

  • Pay attention to your intuition

  • The key to happiness and joy

  • What is on the other side of fear

  • The lies we tell our self

  • How to collaborate in our purest form

And SO MUCH MORE.

Action Step:

Share your crazy dream (with a friend or social media) put your craziest idea out there publicly

Create accountability to get into action.

Grab your notebook for this one.

You will want to take notes.

How dare I not share my story?

Donny uses his story to inspire people to share theirs and step into their purpose.

Donny’s yoga journey started in 2005 by searching for pain relief after seven operations on his left knee and an addiction to pain killers. Fast forward to today, Donny has many years of sobriety and has become one of the dynamic leaders in his industry. He is a professional speaker, teacher, and life coach leading classes, workshops, and seminars all across the world.

His calm focused instruction and peaceful energy make even the most challenging scenarios possible to work through.

Donny’s teaching creates an overall connected, grounded, and inspiring experience for all levels of yoga and personal development.

Action step takes 2 to 5 minutes to meditate or just be still before you look at your phone in the morning.

Do it consistently for a week its all about consistency and trusting the process.

if you are used to waking up and looking right at your phone, this will ground you ad allow you to win your morning and not have it start in distraction and reaction

I started this practice over a year ago and it’s been a game-changer. I no longer get triggered by what someone else is doing. A mantra that helped me with this “I create before I consume”

I adore harmony Fulton (@hugharmony). She's been a friend, role model, coach, and mentor for more than half my life. She holds me accountable for the goals and the vision I set for myself, and I'm so grateful!!

It all started by taking her spin class when I was in high school and evolved into helping me figure out what my purpose in life is.

She has so many stories and filled with wisdom nuggets. It would be selfish of me if I didn't share the goodness she provides to the world.

She's unapologetically herself in every way possible. harmony has been leading fitness classes since 1995. She believes that taking care of yourself is a really, really, really good idea. She brings a playful attitude to her classes, aims to make everyone, beginner to advanced, comfortable, and plays some pretty dope music. If silly, spiritual, and sweaty light you up, she's your girl.

This episode is full of many action steps that you can take today towards being happy now!

We talk about the power of...

  • Mantra when you are feeling negative
  • Being spiritual and not religious
  • Movement and happiness (even if you hate working out)
  • The ongoing practice of gratitude
  • Finding a mentor
  • Online courses and being a lifelong learner
  • Being a great storyteller

Her action step is, of course, very on-brand.

She said for instant happiness is spending time with animals {yessssss pleaseeeee}.

Either your own, or a friend's pet, or volunteer your time at an animal shelter for an instant mood booster.

As mentioned in the episode
