Follow my journey of opening a new business. I wanted to discuss what has worked well, what has been challenging and what hasn't quite gone to plan to help others learn from my triumphs and mistakes. I hope you find it useful or even just relatable as you start your own business journeys, ENJOY!
So its a podcast about the podcast... We had other ideas but I'm soooo glad I chose to create this podcast, I've learnt new skills that I didn't even know existed.
Can we do more, we need to keep the business going even if we can't move forward on the outside world we can move forward online.
So nobody could predict this would happen at the beginning of this process but what can we do to adapt?
So I wanted to talk to you guys about my experience with creating a logo, but actually what I really got from the experience was not about the logo at all, enjoy!
"Misunderstanding: This happens when someone doesn’t understand something correctly, which can lead to incorrect assumptions about action items, deadlines and outcomes. To prevent misunderstandings, your team should reflect on and “recap” what was discussed to ensure everyone is on the same page. Non-understanding: This happens when someone misses out on a piece of information. It can happen due to an overflow of emails or missing important meetings. To prevent non-understandings, teams should use a tool that lets them communicate in real-time and provides accountability. Emails are easily lost in cluttered inboxes and don’t reveal who has read them. Business chat apps are great for collaboration because people tend to respond immediately and there is visibility into who has “seen” the message." (Wells, 2018)
Not the best... honesty is the best policy and honestly I needed to develop my skills, I spent hours doing so but I'm still not a pro.
So we know the photos didn't turn out well but.... the videos didn't either, this is obviously not a strength of mine so how can we solve or work around this in the future?
Going back to instagram, how have we applied what we learnt before, and what else have we taken from this experience?
"Using Instagram on your site allows you to connect with customers across multiple channels and increase cross-channel engagement" (Aimiee, 2016)
Looking back was it the right decision to not have our even? and why we are still looking forward to it in the future...
welcome back! this week we are discussing our brand colours, logos and why we decided to make some changes.
forbes “By clearly identifying target audiences, it becomes easier to capture someone’s attention because their needs and goals are front and centre." (Evans, 2020)
starting up costs money, and as a student I don't have a lot of it! fundraising will definitely be beneficial to anyone starting up, or you can look into grants and loans for new businesses!
