What You Might Have Missed will bring you new and recent Indie/Alternative rock and pop discoveries from around the globe.
Host Austin Trask grew up with a love of music at a young age. He’d listen to his parent’s old jazz, musicals and Rat Pack albums, ’70s Am Gold on the car radio, John Denver and The Partridge Family from a sister’s room, Rush and Styx from a brother’s. As a kid, his love of Casey Kasem’s Top 40 countdown on Sunday nights with hours of a ’50s & ’60s Golden Oldies show right after, then the emergence of Disco that morphed into the incredible ’80s, shaped his love of music, which started early and continues to this day.

Sweden is where I am spinning around day dreaming of making friends. Though don't call me out on that because I'll make a u-turn and confess I'm gaining perspective and keeping perseverance. Though muddy as an elephant can be, I'll fall in love and run away on holiday. Understanding how beautiful life can be even in our saddest and loneliest moments. I may be a little spacey, and babbling lots of nothing, I'll still be drawing huge castles in my room, reading a fairytale in the supermarket, learning that no-one teaches you how to live. I may need 18 cigarettes at this point to help me fit in overseas in France so I don't freeze like a mannequin. There's a fat chance I'll make it up to Scotland, even if I was wearing a jetpack to get me there. This is what it feels like in the absence of you, on an island with no pulse, lovesick wishing for oblivion.

Under the coral palms, let's start off by drinking too much, self-destructive behaviour may at times lead to cold sweats. While at The Royston Club I had the chance to meet Arthur and what a heavenly meeting that was. Easy days after led to cherry lemonades by the pool with Marlone looking quite fetching in a one-piece regardless of the love lost between us. Really really, recognizing toxicity hopefully leads to uncovering your favourite flavor, like winning the lottery. I woke up this morning with a bad dream, wondering what my hippo campus was trying to tell me. Are there bad habits I'm not aware of? Am I stunted and stuck in a coma culture I can't find my way to awake from? Understandably, with a general ennui feeling of disenchantment with society and putting on a brave face when in fact you feel the complete opposite. I know it's not my business but have you noticed the mess I made here? Honestly, you don't need to hire a private eye or scan a thousand faces to see the feens and ugly souls that make you feel not good enough. Keep the faith and know that soon, here it comes, freedom in all its advertisement, will be yours.

Many things may not be easy in life, like getting out of bed in the morning, yet the blue you are feeling is shared by many. When you feel like that, please, call me back, you know I will love you to the highs, that is my only motive. I will shelter you boy, in the absence you are feeling. I still blush as a teen when the golden hour shines on youth so haunted that all you want to do is come home. On deaf ears, I may seem I'm always saying nothing, though I promise I am not. We need an escape down the pacific coast highway to abduct and dispel those feelings because I know who I am and can help you know the same. Let's play some tennis, together, because alone, one call fall into needing a priory that expels all pleasure. You may fall into a headspace island that doesn't spangle the true joy of life. Hold on to those bloodlines, rely on them, steal their support even if it's for the simple joy of a screaming for ice cream. All of this could lead to a great mass of color, euphoria through a deaf heaven, is a heaven none-the-less.

Hold me close and tight 'cuz tonight's show is one to be shared. Those cities of crystal are always brilliantly faceted, oft exposing a bike thief or two escaping an estate on Sunday. No need to lie about your kiwi addiction, who doesn't love those fuzzy green globes! Like a moth to a flame, I often fall for a light that never goes on, the darkness can spark creativity, a kind of stereo explosion of the soul. I have to admit, she knows she's not always on my mind, perched on a pylons, quivering with excitement for the chase, so busy taking the highline, unable to keep myself from loving you (me?). Unconditional love is often a beautiful desperation in and of itself. Predicting future haunts can be the glue to wandering wildly. Choking up, be a bandit, stealing the losing feelings from all that don't need them. Here you will find a voodoo all your own.

I'm not calm, under any type of canopy you put me under. I immediately want to break whatever stencil you put me in or lunar cycle you'd prefer me to to say in....not gonna happen! Though I'm a a courier of audio joy, as foreign a sound are you'll discover here. Listening though, all I need is you, to listen, explore that crystal ball, so when you explode with electricity you'll understand why you gotta be you. It's not selfish at all, it will be empowering for all of us, in the hope that those who have struggled with the same issues, through eyes closed, will find a second skin to celebrate and find that its nothing like the night struggles we find in those desolate times. Across that very fine line, please kids, find the joy in the every day. Academia doesn't have to be found in an institution. Lines blur when it come to shag rock and romance and violets being the antibiotics to all I'll be needing in South Yorkshire.

Colour your tongue and ears on fire this show, it's a sizzling one. Often, as an afterthought, you feel like a dummy, striving to balance that fine line of a quiet life, I get it but call me when you get there. I'm racing through the right field, with my head spinning, trying to figure out the things she said to me about the missing piece, of joy. I'm right back in it, and on cloud nine, loving the retro feel of songs these days. Bert & Ernie, our favorite couple, still enjoy a good suns up, only wanting each other, regardless of the situation. Life situations are always a gamble, you never know if you're making the right decision or not. A pent up fire just needs a good quenching by water to make the switch so your tangle mind shines bright like the only sun in the sky.

If you come across bears in trees, are they really there or just the sounds of sleep. Make friends not clones, and don't ever think I hate you. Separation, and the desire to reach out and touch someone may leave you feeling isolated, like islands. This season, focus on your house plants, as many actually look like little aliens. Chill with the contradictions they present with many showing true movements throughout the day. You'll experience horror when they die on you for no apparent reason, colliding with your expectations for them. All I know is that you'll thrive with the new found knowledge that new love and new music can save your life. Wander wild and wide to break up with yourself and embrace being a stranger in a strange land.

When you're feeling like an alien and stuck meeting a boy, named Arthur, don't worry, help is on the way. Hideaway on a balcony, in your dayglow fairness, because I want you to ride with me to expand the world's tunnel vision. Don't feel cold, however strange the experience, in those hand-me-downs that exude the lives of those before. If it happens, it happens, in jetpacks or folly, and justifies a good sand fight just to feel like a child again. HI YA and all that is pretty, is a great way to seize the day. Not enough joy? Listen here, you will find those bones, sifting through the beach, so let's go future lovers! Welcome to the Pressuredome! Seriously, so much is happening tonight! Hurricanes are a part of nature as sure as a gathering of strangers could be the antidote for the struggles we all face, being the glue once more. I'll take you skateboarding in Grimsby, for my love of the sport, as we watch over indigo bay, trying not to switch off, fall off the board as honestly, I'm not very good at it. The only sun we see in the sky, my brother, is the one setting over the paradise island, sipping on lemonade and dreaming on autopilot. The second skin we shed is colder than that previous. I remember you giving all you got in the 80s', just to carry on this simple fiction we call life. We found the mustang, a coltrane, in Leeds. We'll sing him a rebel song to honor his frisky spirit then head down the open road, lined with palms, insular and young, to discover we are the sinners of the decades.

Tonight, we pray for a mustang in Australia while petting our best friend, Vigg the golden retriever. The real hero is one who can overcome adversity that appears in many forms. On Saturday, everything will be ok, eventually, as we fix those lost, boys and girls. I become a changed man in France, rebounding from charming liars, and looking for a fight on this Sunday estate. Molly, where did you go? I'd follow you into the dark, even if it takes me on down over the falls into the unknown. Crystalizing the state we're in, we'll find clarity from circus wolves as we have the time of our lives.

Tonight, I'm thrilled to be starting in Brighton, with a foot firmly planted where roads don't usually go. Looking up, I see the only sun in the sky, while thinking of you and contemplating everything I ever learned. In all honesty, I've been falling for you since Monday of last week. Please don't think me some kind of loser as I ruminate on the short time we have here on this earth, avoiding the grief of it, and drifting in and about my senses. I'm touching down in Essex, stumbling yet hopeful, until I'm firmly standing on a stepping stone. Through a television, I see a very precarious sense of self and dive right into the demons I've been avoiding, eventually feeling alright, and declaring a celebratory funeral for the past. I happily sign a social contract, that I want to believe, however strange it may be.

With gusto we address sobriety right off the bat, and the pressure of social media perfection. At the best of times, it allows us to show our many faces but can frustrate you to seek a simple life. To be lost in reverie can be bliss while gazing at the western skies. Families separated, for what ever reason, can feel like you carry the world on your shoulders, heavy, in need of a lifeboat. In Venice, Italy, apparently two mimes looking the same is better than one. The youth in Manchester, already understand that things just come and go. California has traitors in the day and idols nova gazing just to feel the same. Never mind that now, nothing's shocking anymore, is it? Keep your head right, and a group with love, will never say to you...this is the end.

Big lies beget suspicious minds, though in the episode, that's a good thing! As Socrates would say "Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives." and that's true twice here. My favorite color is blue, a blue moon, the blue water of a bay, I like it all. Sitting at a café at night isn't a bad way to spend the evening, though once headlights flash upon you and pass, it can make you a bit nervous, especially if you're a bit wasted and seeing colour on everyone's tongue. For today though, let's play at the waterline, tossing anxiety and grief away. Slip off those boots, dip your toes, and fixate on an affirmation to dispel any derealization you might be experiencing. Be the "Comeback Kid" after that long range hustle, a pioneer to and for yourself, then flip that hourglass for another go at tomorrow.

This week I'm going a hundred at the speed of sloth, is that fast? Mourning the loss of life from an unnecessary fire, finding a lost summer with some cherry blossom kids. I'm seeing young robins as Spring here in California has pretty much sprung, and it's perfect. Love means to be deeply committed and connected, in a place, that might be pretty, and might just be white noise. On the boardwalk, hitting like a girl gains respect, developing automatic goodvibes without the wait. I don't ever plan on growing up, I don't see the point, and it won't make me lost in this world or runaway to Manchester, for that matter. Do mermen and mermaids have an achilles heal? Do they even have heals??? That worth finding out.

Never say Never when I'm right there beside you pushing new music upon you. I'll show you what ever you want regardless of your greatest enemy, you yourself, yup it's you! Take the highline, stay sane, while I follow you down that calico stream to Belgium. Gibberish from an exceptional pizza I understand, it's with the crunch of orange days I stray a bit. Locking up rain I pray for a straight away lane on a Sunday to shutdown these weekend anxiety attacks. I see myself in the reflection of blood when I've charmingly cut myself deep enough to lie about it to those I habitat with. Been feeling mentally fuzzy, like I'm in a red cloud lately, needing a polar state to cover me and help me feeling comforted. This week, I'm won't be paying off any debts, but I will realize that I truly need to sit back and breathe, more oxygen in my lungs from all my hause plants is what I need. Rinsing off 2020, and its very flawed design fraught with bad news, I search for Darwin's Eden. Truth be told, I'm terrified of anyone's love, suddenly realizing I've been hurt/destroyed too many times before. Life is not the funhouse its played up to be, though it does have its mindblowingly spectacular moments. Keep swimming against the forces that try to drown you, and you'll be uplifted and remembered by a world who loves you.

This week, I'm feeling quite festive in the new music area, heaping hopes to share it with someone like you. Betcha didn't know a deja vu is the same thing happening at the same time in an alternative universe. It'll feel a little ghost-like but fear not, in Glasgow, there is a symphony playing your theme song. If you retain a open mind, and view things as they come, you'll recognize things are different for everyone. Don't let that wind you up, creating darkwaters, to the point of a police car in that future of yours. Fade off into the shadows so you have time to solve the puzzle we call life. Do your best to hear the call of your heart, keep it to yourself, not today is the day to expound on that new found depth, wait for the right time to shout your new found joy...like...right...about....NOW!

Those incredibly eager for what's new, jump the gun, a head start, as they say "the early bird gets the worm". You have that here, a buzz cut worthy of sporting down the runway and to your friends. Strides in the sun makes a goodbye almost less heartbreaking. Put all that aside, and have a balls to the wall fired up night out in Edinburgh...Scotland is where it's at! Confess your silliness near a river in the NE of England. Then sit down on the banks, and ponder a stationary life, it might lead you to the past. Alexandros of Antioch created a beauty that is a true freeze frame of love that he might have finish at 5AM. Messed up is what we'll remember about 2020, both in Australia and in Los Angeles. The sun tends to shed light on the weird wins we can achieve with our mental health if we can get away from the void it tends to suck us into. When we get there though, a personal Valhalla awards all that hard work.

Any casual vice close to home deserves an open letter to Glasgow, searching for that utopia to delight in. Getting back together in the far west, we'll ride white sands, discover cool ghouls, and overshare to the point of addiction. I'm not sure the power of love can help the modern yuppies but it's worth a shot. On doctor's order, we'll revel in the big disaster a good team can become. Always be a good citizen and try not to kill anyone. Back in Glasgow, I discover the importance our relationships are, and not to waste them. Finally, when you see blood in the water, scream, scream as loud as you can.

Jumping head first into the rabbit hole I discovered in Glasgow, hoping someone would save me, I came out the other end in the 80s, my favorite decade. I then waited in line with Jenny, who didn't tell me that choosing sides would get us lost in Ireland. Close to home, I find a five star diary full of juicy tidbits from the Subshine dimension. It's a new year, so I'm striving to be better, with humility, but that won't stop me from getting naked and sparking new ideas, that will eventually be out of my hands at some point. My parents told the truth when they said some of our bloodline originates in Germany.

The journey starts in Nashville, where we come back to quite a few times. We have a good time in Brooklyn learning a little patience. I'd love to be forty three again, then I wouldn't be so sad about this break-up. I'll release the creatures in Stockholm, hoping it brings my ladycakes back to Stuttgart. Overthinking will get you nowhere on your way to everything good. Hot air in L.A. can help you be something special. And finally, don't ever ask stragers are you bored yet? as that might well lead to it being just about you.

Ok, give it to me straight...am I a lazy boy? If I knew what year this is, I might not be so. I hoping for a new kitten this Christmas from my good friend Karen though something has clearly changed with her. The biggest audio criminals I know are probably coming out of Oslo. A serene garden in Church Hill would do as an escape for this 2020 reality. I won't take drugs no matter how new wave the doc says it it. I'd rather be a roamer, starting in Perth and ending in Melbourne. "Please be mine" can never be said enough, in my opinion. I'd happily don a tutu and sit in a rill in South Africa if it keeps me out of the minefields that I often find myself in. All in all, I'm good for it, I really am.

I've some big love for this show, in Vermont we're seeing ghosts, while that thing that might be breaking your heart could be the moon. I've been accused of narcissism in the past but it's just because I'm extraordinary...my mother says so. As pompous as that is, I don't mind waiting for the night bus to take me to Coventry. In the middle of getting out of a dead-end job, a professor you meet will get you back on track. Come take the ride!

Starting off with big ideas very close to home, shaking it up in Stockport and still finding our paradise even though summer has waned. Nostalgia for the aughts is a real thing while running after butterflies from Texas to Berlin. New Jersey is at a crossroads, like so many of us. Today is not your fight though driving in VR might find you a new discovery you didn't know you needed. A nagging retrospect will drive you to cut it loose in the end, FTW! Take the journey with me!

On this week's show we appropriately start a new journey from Manchester, UK, finding fulfillment and enlightenment out of Blackpool (YES, BLACKPOOL!). We then mill about Los Angeles for quite a bit: road trips, Northern California nostalgia, discovering walking away can be the better thing, and living your best life are all touched upon...LA had a lot to say this week. Brooklyn offers a look at isolation while back in Liverpool we're figuring out our wants and needs. We bounce about the beautiful Canadian countryside cutting the crap with sex machines and phantoms. Finally, living until you die in Norway, what else can we do? Have a listen.
On this show, I am all over the place; starting out "Wild" in the Netherlands, doubling up in Manchester and Los Angeles. A beautiful drive up the coast is worth every mile on the Pacific Coast Highway. There's a quick stop on the edge of oblivion in Portland, finding common ground in New Zealand, and a call to action from Florida. I touch on utopia and battling bi-polar depression. It's a great show, have a wee listen!

On tonight's show I gush about two debut albums, working through bad dreams and being alright. I'm in love with the soundtrack to one of the coolest cities in the Los Angeles area, all the while, all I want to do is head to the coast. Though I'll settle for a commune in Italy or a small town in Australia where I can ruminate on 1947's "The Most Beautiful Suicide' and those unfortunate women in late 1917 who died from occupational hazards painting watch dials with self-luminous paint.
