Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Mary Saramak, NCC Class of '74.  Mary earned an associate degree from Nassau, and continued with a BA, MA, and MLS degrees.  She continues her career at NCC as an adjunct faculty reference librarian.  She participates in the NCC Continuing Education program, including astronomy, finance, and business.  She loves yoga, golf, judo, soccer, cooking, and everything outdoors.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Ally Ramos, a singer/songwriter and performer who studied music and performing arts at Nassau Community College.  She collaborates, sings, writes and performs her own music internationally.  She has also been a model and backup singer.  She is the mother of a 6-year-old girl and has 10 pets.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Gail Lewis, who is representing her mother Diane, Class of 1962!  Diane went on to Hofstra and earned a BS in Education.  Her hobbies included swimming, international travel, local volunteer leadership, reading, and crafting.  She literally walked to Hempstead Turnpike and hopped on a bus to NCC at a time when women did not do those things!  Her daughter shares her mom's journey - and her own journey as a student at NCC in the 80s.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Singer/Songwriter William "Fiz" - Class of 1986.  He writes songs for himself and others, recognized for his humanitarian efforts including on News 12's "Making A Difference."  He is the author of IGNITE THE ROCK STAR IN YOU, where he shares his musical visioning, a process that helps people connect with their sole purpose.  Fiz believes in the healing power of music and how we can all take part in making the world a better place.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Karen Young, NCC Class of 2007.  She is a registered nurse with 19+ years of experience.  She began her career as a home health care aide.  Karen was a single mother starting out at NCC, balancing career and motherhood.  She returns to NCC as an honoree.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Jacqueline Fowler, Class of 2005.  She earned her accounting degree with honors and matriculated to Hofstra University earning a BA in Accounting, followed by a master's in taxation.  Her professional career spans more than 20 years.  She is currently an Assistant Tax Manager at TDK USA Corporation.  As President of the Hofstra Black and Hispanic Alumni Board, she shares her expertise in her field.  She is active in her church, and a mother of four children.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Keith Daniel Saunders, Sr., Class of 1990.  He is the author of a new book "Roosevelt to the Hamptons: The War on Both Sides" which chronicles his experiences growing up on Long Island, attending NCC, and how it shaped his career.  He reminds everyone of the African-American proverb 'It takes a village to raise a child.'  His leadership, courage, and faith in God are unmatched and his ability to lead all students to greatness is unparalleled.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Cosmo Leone - NCC Class of '78.  Cosmo worked at WHPC from 1977-1979, moving on to WCWP at what was then CW Post until 1980.  He then moved to the Midwest in 1981 to KGRS, Burlington, Iowa, working in afternoon drive and starting a 32-year career as a morning personality and program director.  He is an award-winning host, leading his station in achievements as a top 5 small marketing station.  He is recognized as one of the top Program Directors in US Small Market Radio.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Kathi Lee, also known to her radio audience as Domonique!  She is a radio personality on 102.3 WBAB playing classic rock!  She earned her associate degree from NCC and went on to New York Institute of Technology earning her bachelor's in fine arts.  Her hobbies include spending time with her husband and rescue dogs and cats.  She loves watching TV and going to dinner with friends.  She also works full-time as a Morgan Stanley Software Trainer.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Janelle Clausen, NCC Class of 2013.  Janelle earned her AA degree in Liberal Arts, and a BA in Journalism with a specialty in Public Policy and Public Affairs, and her Masters in Democracy and Government from Georgetown University.  She worked as a full-time journalist on Long Island and has worked for several grant-funded programs that provides aides and volunteers.  She is a panelist for the State Department Fellowship, that will further empower international leaders and leadership in general.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Dr. Pete Coco, NCC Class of 2001.  He is a portrait photographer known for creating bold images that defy convention.  He works with musicians, authors, and executives.  He studied music at NCC and earned a BA at Hofstra University in Jazz and Commercial Music, and a master's in jazz studies from SUNY Purchase, and a doctorate in classical performance from Stony Brook University.  He had the great fortune of teaching his art and his music.

He has a certificate of audio recording and production from the Institute of Audio Research and experience in all facets of production including recording, mixing, mastering, and is certified in ProTools. He has worked at WHPC since 2021 and is the host of "Art of Heaven" and "Art of Heaven News Talk." His mission and values lead people to transforming their relationship with Jesus via his work at Shelter Rock Church.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Julie Marchesella, NCC Class of 1984.  She continued her education at Kingsborough Community College and Wilsey Institute of Art and Interior.  She is a businesswoman and entrepreneur and is President of the Elmont Chamber of Commerce, having had many roles in leadership.  She owns a business called "Queen of Hearts" in Merrick, NY, that sells formalwear for plus sized women.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Jai Ismael, Class of 2012.  During her years at NCC, she participated in many clubs including finding entertainment acts to perform at the college.  Jai grew a fondness for English due to an influential professor.  She is currently persuing her Master's degree at SUNY Old Westbury in Adolescent Education and English 7-12.  She is a teaching assistant and a blogger with interests in media, music and literature.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Angelise Milton, NCC Class of 2010 with a degree in Applied Science and a major in Fashion Design.  She then earned a Bachelor degree in Technical Design with a minor in English.  Her hobbies include praise worship and mural paintaing.  She is interested in the film industry and is working on a manifest of her grandmother's book.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Raquel Fossett, Class of 2018.  Raquel is the former Operations Director for West Battleground States for the Harris for President campaign.  She served as the advisor for policy and program implementation at the US Department of Transportation and served as the White House Director of the internship program.  Her first internship was under Biden and Harris.  She is a proud alum and strives for advocacy and equity in our communities and our society.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Maria Monteiro from Uniondale, NCC Class of 1983.  She studied child psychology.  She worked in daycare as a mentor, teacher and advocate for human rights, including LGBTQ, mental health, drug & alcohol abuse including rehab and recovery.  Maria is a proud mother, grandmother, and wife.  She believes in assisting her community by helping others and guiding them to adequate resources.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Warren S. Hoffman, NCC Class of 1977.  He was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and is a founding father of our alumni association.  He says NCC provided him with a foundation for his education and his future.  He serves as a senior partner with the firm Sperber, Hoffman, Stein and Scampoli, LLP.  He is the father of two and has four grandchildren.  His hobbies include being a pilot and flying his private plane, walking, and playing pickleball.  He is being honored at the Alumni Association's 40th Anniversary Gala this year.

Valente, a partner at Makofsky Valente Law Group, PC, with offices in Garden City.  Lisa was selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Star and Best Lawyers Lists, and she is a Woman of Distinction Award Winner in 2021.  She graduated from NCC in 1999 and transferred to SUNY Old Westbury, earning a BA in politics, economics and the law.  She graduate from Touro Law School with honors.  She is a member of the NYS Bar Association and is a respected writer.  Her legal efforts support probate and estate administration, trust administration and beneficiaries.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Lawrence Engel 84.  Lawrence is a founding father of the Alumni Association.  He grew up in Wantagh and graduated from Arch Bishop Molloy High School.  After NCC he went to SUNY Old Westbury, and worked for the IRS, and is a proud retiree.  He is currently a defensive driving instructor for AAA.  He served as President of the SUNY Confederation of Alumni Associations.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Muhammed Abdullah Atif '22.  He is currently a senior computer science major at Farmingdale State College, with a focus on full stack coding.  He is active in the creation of efficient and scalable applications and involved in the student government serving as the Chairperson.  He was active in NCC's student government as well.  In his spare time, he is an avid reader and lover of books as well.  He works as an intern at FSC for the Office of Community and Civic Engagement, and advocates for student concerns in all facets of campus life.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Counrtney Tricarichi-Funk, Class of 2005.  Courtney is an information sciences scholar and educator.  Upon graduation, she earned a BA in Psychology from Hofstra University, followed by an MA from LIU in Philosophy (Information Sciences) and is now in pursuit of a PhD with a focus on neurodivergent students and ensuring their access to higher education. She is currently an adjunct professor and instructor at NCC in the Center for Workforce Development.  She is an academic advisor and is a co-runner of the tabletop gaming expo and an expert in the gaming industry.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Tolitha Henry, NCC Class of 2015.  She is a passionate traveler who has explored nearly 30 countries as a solo traveler and is deeply connected to fostering strong connections with communities around the world.  She serves as a special education teacher with a decade of experience in high school, middle school, and kindergarten.  Tolitha is an instructional coach and supports educators to better serve children.  She is a runner, a hiker, and is part of many social clubs that involve creating vision boards and sparking creativity and meaningful conversations.

She is an NYS licensed chaplain and pastor, providing guidance to those in need. She also serves on the NCC Alumni Association board and recently retired from the Department of Probation where she served as the Executive Assistant to brand chiefs, directors and the deputy commissioner with 31 years of service.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Gillian O'Connor, class of 2011.  Gillian worked as a DJ at WHPC on the morning show, and had a radio career at KJOY and Party 105 as a board operator.  Her DJ Name is DJ Serenade, because she is a singing DJ!  She is currently an art teacher - and 9 months pregnant!  Her hobbies include swimming, going to the beach, bike riding and tennis.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Sondra Hurvey Hall '00, an educator, activist and stand-up comedian!  Her passion is educating the public on suicide prevention and awareness.  She has founded the Tenneil Hurvey Foundation entitled "Never Surrender" in memory of her son Tenneil who passed away by suicide at age 16.  The pain remains great, but by openly discussing prevention and awareness, Sondra assists other families affected bt the same grief.  She reminds everyone to remember and never surrender.

He was active in HEAT and the Hofstra radio station, where he served as their Director of News Tech and a well-respected engineer, which he learned at WHPC as well. As a Hofstra graduate, Jason is an aspiring TV/Video person, seeking work in the industry. He loves rocket league, Magic the Gathering, and the game Legend of Zelda.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Mikey Rivers '23.  Mikey was born in Brooklyn but raised on Long Island.  He took what he learned at NCC as a student at WHPC and now brings his goofy nerdy vibes to radio station Party 105, also on Long Island.  He loves all things Star Wars, Marvel, Ninja Turtles, and One Piece.  When he was younger, he dreamed of being a DJ on the radio, and now 30 years later, his dreams have manifested themselves.

Dr. Lynnda Nadien talks with Todd Silver '00.  Todd continued his education after NCC at SUNY Oneonta and Dowling College.  He is interested in sports and music, having been a sports writer for the NCC newspaper, the Vignette - winning a student activities award during his time at NCC.  His main hobby is attending autograph signing events to meet his favorite athletes, bike riding and going to concerts.

She graduated from the nursing program at the age of 21, and has worked in the medical and pharmaceutical fields as a nurse and pharmacist after earning her degree from St. John's University. She is also a business owner in Florida, owning Caduceus Pharmacy. She teaches an online course for women suffering from Fibromyalgia, is a community activist, and works to promote wellness, health and overall screening services.
