Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Many conservatives are critical of the president’s decision to pull our troops out of Syria. I am not among them. The president campaigned on pulling our troops out of no-win wars where no discernible national interest of ours is at stake, and he is now fulfilling that promise. I for one do not want to see another American soldier shed his blood in some Middle Eastern desert unless our national security is directly at stake. Our experience in Iraq and Afghanistan should have taught us that nation-building in a Muslim land is impossible. Islam is not about democracy but tyranny and hostility to Christ and the gospel. The role of our military should be to neutralize whatever direct threat is posed to the United States and then come home. And they should try to bring as many Christians with them as possible when they do, to give them a new home here in the land of the free.
