As I sit here reflecting on my conversation with Caroline Wachsmuth, I can't help but feel inspired and invigorated. Caroline is truly a multi-faceted healing artist - a Swiss-born, French-speaking powerhouse who has dedicated her life to wellness, natural beauty, and personal growth.
I was captivated as Caroline shared her journey, from her early days as a journalist exploring the worlds of art, wellness, psychology, and the art of living, to her time as a yoga instructor, massage therapist, and athletic trainer. But it was her entrepreneurial spirit that really caught my attention. Caroline founded an award-winning skincare brand in Paris, the first certified organic line in France, and has since lived and worked on three continents and in 15 different cities.
What struck me most, though, was Caroline's deep commitment to self-care and inner exploration. As a Reiki master and the author of the book "Seasons," she believes that mind-body awareness is the spine within us, constantly needing reassessment and ultimate care. Her passion for guiding others on their own paths of transformation is palpable.
But perhaps what resonated with me the most was Caroline's unwavering belief in the power of self-reflection and dream-nourishing. Her morning routine of connecting with herself, journaling, and carving out time for her own creative projects was a poignant reminder of the importance of self-care.
Takeaways:
Look inside and take care of your gut microbiome for healthy skin.
There are differences in skincare products between Europe and the US.
Read and educate yourself to make informed choices about personal health.
Avoid additives and plastic packaging in food and beverages. Take time every day to connect with yourself and listen to your feelings.
Nourish your dreams by feeding them and keeping them close to you.
Carve out time for self-care and self-reflection in your morning routine.
Explore the beauty industry and create your own brand or products.

Today, I am absolutely thrilled to have Professor Tony Wyss-Coray with us, a renowned expert from Stanford University who is revolutionizing our understanding of aging. His groundbreaking research, which recently graced the cover of Nature magazine, reveals a fascinating concept: our organs each have their own "clocks" that offer insights into the aging process and help predict diseases like heart failure and Alzheimer's. This innovative approach stems from his study of blood proteins associated with different organs, highlighting that each organ ages at its own pace.
In his lab, Professor Wyss-Coray and his team delve into the mysteries of brain aging, investigating why it leads to memory issues and conditions such as Alzheimer's. One of their most remarkable findings is the potential for young blood to rejuvenate older brains, suggesting a promising avenue for reversing some effects of aging. They employ a variety of scientific techniques to explore how our bodies communicate with our brains throughout our lives.
But Professor Wyss-Coray's influence extends far beyond his lab. He has shared his pioneering discoveries on prestigious platforms such as TED talks and the World Economic Forum, earning recognition in Time Magazine’s list of people transforming healthcare. His entrepreneurial spirit has also led him to found companies dedicated to tackling brain diseases, and his contributions to science have been honored with numerous awards.
In our discussion today, we aim to unpack Professor Wyss-Coray's recent discoveries in an accessible manner, exploring their significance for the future of aging research and what they could mean for our understanding of how to maintain health as we age. We'll also discuss the impact of exercise on reversing aging and dive into more tips and interesting points about keeping our bodies and brains healthy.

ARE SKINCARE ROUTINES THE KEY TO SOLVING YOUR SKIN WOES? 👀😳
Diving into the heart of skincare science and myths, we're peeling back the layers of what truly matters in your skincare regimen. It's buzzing all over social media: the miracle cures, the must-have serums, and the never-ending debates on what's good or bad for your skin. But what's the real story? Are we overcomplicating our approach to skincare, letting fear dictate our choices? Is there a golden middle ground?
I've heard from individuals terrified of using anything on their skin because of the mixed messages they're getting. Some fear the very oils that could benefit them, while others are hesitant to try products deemed essential for healthy skin.
Let's clear the air:
🌟Hydration is key, even for oily and acne-prone skin. Contrary to popular belief, hydrating products can be beneficial and shouldn't be skipped.
🌟Not all skincare advice is one-size-fits-all. Consulting with a dermatologist to tailor your skincare routine can make a significant difference, especially for conditions like rosacea and melasma, which require a nuanced approach.
🌟Sunscreen isn't just an option; it's a necessity. Using sunscreen with SPF 50 is crucial, but finding the right product for your skin type is just as important.
🌟It's about finding a balance. Personalizing your skincare routine means understanding your skin's needs, not just following trends. It involves choosing products wisely and knowing when and how to use them for morning and evening routines.
🌟Embrace flexibility. Your skincare routine should adapt to your life, not the other way around. While it's essential to be consistent, there's room for enjoyment and the occasional deviation from the norm.
🌟Remember, it's the overall pattern that counts. One indulgence or mistake won't derail your skincare goals. It's what you do consistently over time that shapes your skin's health.
Tune into our latest episode with Dr. Ina Shoshoka, where we explore the intricate world of skincare. We delve into the science behind hydration, the importance of consulting professionals, and how to craft a skincare routine that truly works for you.

Hey, everyone! It's me again, and today I'm recording a solo episode to explain why you should listen to my podcast, what topics I'll cover in the coming weeks, and to share my personal story.
So, let's get started with a short intro. My name is Crina, and I've always been interested in pursuing my dreams and learning about how others have made their dreams a reality.
In today's discussion, we touch on the following topics:
My biggest learnings so far are:
1 Cut out distractions, especially when you want to listen to yourself. Even if you're listening to a podcast, sometimes you still hide from yourself. Take a break from social media and phone calls, and be alone with your thoughts. You can start with just 10 minutes a day.
2 Be mindful of who you are and who you surround yourself with. As the saying goes, "You're the average of the five people you spend the most time with." Don't expect a miracle if you want to be happy and cheerful, but sad and negative people surround you.
3 Self-love and being connected with yourself are crucial. Before you love anyone else in your life, focus on yourself first. You can't love others if you don't know how to love yourself.
4 Praying and meditation are essential; I'm still working on this. What has helped me is a WhatsApp group with some of my good friends where we meditate daily and share our progress. Praying is something that depends on your discipline and priority.
5 Gratitude is associated with a host of mental and physical benefits. Studies have shown that feeling thankful can improve sleep, mood, and immunity and decrease depression, anxiety, chronic pain difficulties, and disease risk. If a pill could do all this, everyone would take it.
6 Physical health can support your mental health. You can improve your mental health by eating healthy, including plenty of raw and fresh veggies and fruits, exercising or sports, sweating once daily, and sleeping 8 hours daily.
7 Send out good vibes around you. If you're constantly jealous and comparing yourself to others, your dream will run away, and you will attract negativity.
8 Organize a visual dream map, but be honest with yourself and write everything in detail. I promise you; this can be magical.
9 Do it! Don't question whether it worked or not. You know how to do it differently next time if it doesn't.
10 Enjoy the journey because you never know what tomorrow will bring.
Thank you for listening to my first solo episode. I felt like I put my soul into this episode, and I want to promise you that this platform is sincere, and we can discover together how to dream again and become healthier, happier, and more beautiful.
I'm looking forward to hearing your story and your dreams. Please don't be afraid; we are here together. If you know somebody who needs to hear this, please share it with your friends, family, and community. And don't forget; it's time to dream again!

Are you a curious person?
Well, I think that this new Podcast episode will bring you even more curiosity in your life.
The mind lives in the past and the future. But the body is always in the present; the body is always there. So, the first technic to release stress and heal anxiety is to be curious. You ask yourself with curiosity, what exactly am I feeling? Why am I feeling this way? What is happening?
For example, when you sleep and think there is a monster under your bed, turn on the light and get curious. Check to see if there is a monster under the bed. Then, if there is no monster under your bed, why am I feeling like this? This is just one example I learned after my conversation with the fantastic Anil.
Anil Chandwani is the founder of the reset code, a process focused on individual wellness, health, success, and fulfillment.
For almost 20 years, Anil has helped men, women, leaders, and celebrities worldwide grow in mental clarity and decision-making, relational communication, emotional and creative expressions, and life purpose.
Are you still curious about more? Then see below more important topics that I touched on during my conversation with Anil.
Three ways to reduce anxiety practical exercise takeaways.
I am opening a conversation with you, and it will mean the world to me if you share with friends and family that you think this topic can help. Only together as a county can we make a change around us.

After interviewing more than 30 people as part of the first season, I decided to turn the table and look into my vulnerability to share my personal healing journey with all of you.
My friend, coach, and former radio host Lea couldn’t have been a better interviewer. She knows how to align mind and body as she regularly trains her spirit, which helps her being a successful athlete. She trains me for Thai boxing every Thursday morning and challenges me with many mindful topics. Unfortunately, her life experiences wouldn’t fit in a book. So instead, I encourage you to follow her on Instagram to learn more about her inspiring life and personality.
This episode is about me, but I’m never comfortable being the center of attention. So telling my story, sitting on the How Can I Heal podcast chair is a way to express my gratitude toward this project and help you understand it better.
As a way to introduce myself very quickly, here it is: I’m Crina, a Romanian born in Bucharest, but who’s moved around Europe and America for more than 12 years.
Today, I’ll talk about:
• Why this Podcast?
• My Healing Journey: How It Started, and How It’s Going.
• The Lessons from Motherhood and Having a Daughter
• My Key Takeaways from My Two Favorite Episodes So Far from the Podcast
• My Vision Behind How Can I Heal?
• My Future Projects
• What’s Life Taught Me So Far.
So please join me on an honest discussion that I hope will inspire you as much as my previous guests have inspired me.

The beauty world is full of myths and urban legends, arguably even more so when it comes to skincare. And while I am not saying you shouldn't listen to the sage skincare advice your mom or grandma gave you, the truth of the matter is, many of the common things we've been lead to believe are that-myths.
So to help separate fact from fiction, I decided to invite a good friend of mine that her skin looks just perfect, she is working as a model in the fashion industry for more than 20 years, doesn't have any commercial interest, and loves to share her long-term secrets that make her skin look perfect - Valerie Roy:
The discussion is split into 3 parts:
Valerie Roy, having started her modeling career at Elite Model Management in New York City, successfully became ‘face of the brand’ for numerous products, secured product endorsements, and worked with prominent brands including the following: Gordon’s Gin, Ford Motor Company, Savana Drinks, L’Oreal, Coca-Cola, Stern’s, Nestle, Tag Heuer, Rolex, Bentley, Jafra Cosmetics, Dunhill, Estée Lauder, Stella, Donna Karan, Martell, Woolworth’s Beauty, Philip Morris, and Almay.
She has been featured in several magazines throughout her modeling career such as Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Elle, WWD, Shape, Oprah Magazine, Femina, Stitch Fashion Magazine, Kai Zen magazine, and Runner’s World.
She functioned as one of the top models on Project Runway and the accompanying program, Models of the Runway, amassing a positive reputation under the constant scrutiny of reality television. Furthermore, she has acted in television shows such as Black Box, Power, in addition to numerous television commercials.
Her worldly expertise was garnered by engaging with culturally diverse individuals across more than 22 countries including the United States, United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, United Kingdom, South Africa, Switzerland, and Italy while maintaining continuous professional ties.

Aging, one of life’s inevitable certainties, has been a hot topic of research for a number of years.
From the obvious fabled stories promising the elixir of life to the questionable anecdotes of individuals who swear by supplements or regimens, anti-aging has always appeared to be a wild goose chase.
But now, scientists may be closer than they ever to identifying anti-aging agents.
On Today's episode, I am speaking with Stanford University’s Prof. Tony Wyss-Coray, who has laid a milestone in the search by what is known as blood rejuvenation.
Prof. Wyss-Coray began his research career in 1993 at the prestigious Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. His initial studies involved work on Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related diseases, which led to a faculty position at Stanford University.
Prof. Wyss-Coray suspected that blood might hold the answer to diagnose Alzheimer’s before it manifests its symptoms, and his work produced interesting results in protein level discrepancies with aging, setting the premise for anti-aging blood treatment.
One fascinating topic we spoke about is the readily available means that help slow down ageing. Surprisingly - or maybe not anymore after COVID - social interaction seems even more important than a healthy diet and exercise.
I hope you'll enjoy this super interesting interview and if you like it, please share it with your friends, family, or community.

Mark Squire, President, Good Earth Natural Foods
I'm super excited to have Mark Squire as my guest on today's episode.
Mark is a co-owner and manager of Good Earth Natural Foods. His career began in the 1960s after reading J.I. Rodale and Sir Albert Howard, which instilled in him a deep conviction of the need to move agriculture away from pesticide dependence toward natural system approaches. This led him to Good Earth Natural Foods, where he has worked relentlessly for the past 51 years.
Throughout his reputable career, Mark's mission has always centered on improving the foundation of our diet by developing a deep knowledge of GMO-laden products and discovering ways of optimizing organic farming practices.
During his time at Good Earth, Mark created a beautiful community with health at the very heart of the company's identity. He fondly remembers how new staff would join the company and transform their health within a short time. Especially touching for him were those staff members who came in with serious health problems, and after learning the links between a good diet and overall health, finally freed themselves of problems that made life difficult for so long.
One of Mark's good friends, Bob Quinn, wrote a book called "Grain by Grain" that I highly recommend to those interested in the relationship between food and health. One of Bob's startling revelations in the book is his claim that the last 50 years of American history could be summed up in 3 remarkably similar graphs of 3 ostensibly different things. One shows a steady rise in the percentage of the US population with diagnosed diabetes from less than 1% in 1958 to nearly 10 % today. Another shows a very similar trend line in the average carbon dioxide concentration at the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii - this is the famous Kelling Curve, which first sounded the alarm on climate change. The third graph shows the number of Americans relying on food stamps, which rose from just over 10 million in 1972 to more than 45 million today. He claims that the correlation in these trends is no accident - they are all symptomatic of a system of producing and consuming goods, particularly food that has gone badly awry".
Unless we begin to change the food system, these trends will continue to rise, with disastrous consequences for our health, our livelihoods, and our planet.
Mark spent a lot of time in Washington D.C. as part of an industry-wide effort to lobby Congress on the Farm Bill. Through that process, he saw major wins for organic like increased funding for research and increased funding for the National Organic Program. It feels like there’s a growing recognition that supporting organic is an investment in healthy communities.
Please enjoy the episode. I'd be happy to receive your feedback on what you liked about it and what I could do better in the future.
With love,
Crina

In this third episode of the Podcast Live by Crina Okumus, I talk to the beautiful Angela Lindvall. Angela is a model, actress, yogi, and a mother of two beautiful boys.
She was featured on the cover of Italian Vogue in 1997, photographed by Steven Meisel. She was featured on many top magazine covers in the late 1990s and the early 2000s, such as Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Maria Claire, Numero, W, i-D, V, and so on. And during the peak of her long career, she was always the world's top designers' favorite, such as Karl Lagerfeld, Miuccia Prada, Stella McCartney. She was a Prada Girl and a Chanel Girl. She has worked as the face of Chanel, Gucci, Valentino, Prada, Calvin Klein, Miu Miu, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Versace, DKNY, Roberto Cavalli, Fendi, Missoni, Jil Sander, and Jimmy Choo. As an actress, she has appeared in several films, including CQ in 2001 and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in 2005 and Small Apartments in 2010. She was the host of the fashion reality series Project Runway: All-Stars, an extension of the popular series Project Runway.
Angela is a tremendously inspiring woman of many talents. While at the peak of her modeling career, she became pregnant. Voices from the industry told her she would be jeopardizing her career should she decide to continue with the pregnancy. Angela persisted in the face of pressure, became a happy mother, and never looked at the industry through the same lense. Her story is emblematic of the unique struggles women endure when chasing their dreams.
Since a young age, she has always been drawn to human consciousness, metaphysics, Ancient cultures, and spirituality. She began to privately study feverishly at the age of 15- questioning life's purpose and researching as a hobby. After becoming a mother of two, and slowing down her career, she became a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher, Health coach, and recently started her certification as a Doula. Being “The Mother” she considers her true calling and purpose in life. For over 3 years she has been envisioning and creating the direction to share this purpose beyond her own children.
In addition to her career, Angela openly talked about some of the most meaningful events in her life:
and many more topics...
What struck me the most was Angela’s openness to sharing what most of us might think of as sensitive information. When you combine this openness with the curiosity that comes from years of challenging experiences, what you see is an intellectually curious, wise, and loving person who transcends herself to talk about the human condition per se.
Thank you, Angela, for sharing your thoughts and experiences with me. I feel truly blessed.

In this episode Live by Crina Okumus, I'm joined by my beautiful friend, Andrea Ochoa. Andrea is a former corporate globetrotter turned holistic healer and self-love activator.
Andrea is an extremely inspiring person. After building an outstanding career at corporate giants like Calvin Klein, Carolina Herrera, Victoria’s Secret, and L’Oreal for over a decade, Andrea decided to make the courageous plunge into the unknown after realizing that her career did not align with her true self.
And so Andrea bid farewell to her career and decided to focus on what she loves most - helping people find their true selves. This was the overarching theme of our discussion. How to manifest the life you want? How can you discover your true self? And how do you make the transition to design your life according to it? Andrea gives us her elegant take on these complex questions.
We also discussed several other intriguing topics:
Ultimately, what I personally learned from my interview is how crucial it is for us to carefully listen to and respect our gut feelings. They are our trusted guides, especially in difficult and painful situations.

I am honored to have Sebastian Siegel my first ever guest on my podcast interview series.
British-American filmmaker and author Sebastian Siegel has produced, written, and directed the upcoming feature film Grace and Grit, adapted from Ken Wilber’s globally popular book. He has produced, written, and directed a series of acclaimed trailers, a short film, and two documentaries. Sebastian has worked on-screen in supporting roles on Hawaii Five-0, Quantico, Lost, The Haves and Have Nots, The Family That Preys, Mothers & Daughters, and The Finder. Sebastian authored the book, The Consciousness Revolution (in German, English in 2021) and is currently in prep and development on several IP for feature film and series. Sebastian is largely influenced by Ken Wilber, Alan Watts, Ramana Maharshi, and as a filmmaker by Stanley Kubrick and Terrence Malick.
"Like The Tree of Life or The Fountain, Grace and Grit is a movie that takes you on a spiritual journey into the depths of love, and then beyond. Sebastian Siegel is a dexterous and original director, his movie is transcendent storytelling at its best.” ~ Alex Grey, Founder of CoSM
Given Sebastian’s career as an actor as well as his extensive meditative practice, we largely discussed the question of how to manage our emotions in good or bad situations. Here are some of the other topics we discussed:
Sebastian is simply a kind, empathetic, and overall impressive personality with striking depth and breadth of knowledge. I thank him for his time and kindness!
I hope you enjoy the interview and don’t forget to stick around for the next one!
