Part 2, Pandemic: Education in Crises

This episode gives the experience and view point of teacher Donna Callise on teaching both remote learning and in-person classroom High School students.

She educates and shares her experiences on the challenges involved in sudden changes in the educational system at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. How teachers, parents and students were to act quickly on accepting a new learning environment.

In this interview we talk about how the students dealt/deal with online learning, some of their successes, and challenges. We touch on the issues on how students and parents reached out to teachers and school counselors.

We learn about her school district and the tools they provided to the students for success in the crises of a new norm of educating. Donna also taught in-person classes toward the end of the 20-20 school year and summer school here in Arizona where the rules about COVID-19, were more relaxed.

Probability of classroom sizes for this coming school year was discussed, and the thousands of kids who were unaccounted for after the pandemic started.

I personally thank Donna Callise on sharing her views, experience and opinions about teaching in the unknown and adding value to all of her students. I applaud you and all teachers. May you all 'Keep moving in your journey'.

The topic of the stress of dual learning, the pressure teachers and parents share in keeping students focused on classwork.
