Most of us hardly spend any time understanding how humans work. How we work.
When we want to make changes in our work, life, relationships, health and more, we take on snippets of information and advice. If the information and advice is sound and we act on it, things start to change.
The purpose of this podcast is to expand our understanding of how we work, particularly how our brain works. Making physical changes in our brain will make real changes to life. And the biggest thing we need to understand and work on is our habits.
We are a collection of habits and up to 80% of what we do each day can be down to habits we have formed consciously and unconsciously.
I take a look at the science of why we do what we do and more importantly how to make changes and create habits, routines and systems which will help improves lives.
I also talk to guests who can shed more light on why we do what we do, and other guests who share the challenges they faced and how they made changes.
I am a performance and change coach working with people who want to make changes in their life, work, and future. I focus on helping people build habits, routines, and systems because these are the foundations where change happens.
My guest Mark Williams is the real deal when it comes to being a Top Gun Fighter Pilot!
We do cover his time as a fighter pilot and the approach you need to fly fighter jets at high speed (10 miles a minute).
Mark is also a keen meditator and is a Director of Mindfulness Programs at Veterans PATH.

I’ve been off for a few weeks and no podcasts have been uploaded recently. The main reason was some devastating news I received. I lost a friend to suicide. A friend I had known for nearly 30 years. Someone I thought would be the last person to take his own life.

What is the 4-day week?
You must have heard about the 4-day week. If not, then this episode will shed light on exactly what it is.
I am with my guest Charlotte Lockhart, CEO of The 4 Day Week, an organisation which is not only spreading the word but also helping companies to test and take the step to moving to a working 4-day week model.
The subject isn’t as simple as moving to working 4 days a week. It covers everything from how to make it happen to the (positive) impact to the organisation, and the immense benefits are shared by both employer and employees.
What happens to productivity?
What happens to pay?
Who can lead the change in organisation?
What help is available to companies who want to make the change?
What does it do for the people’s mental health and well-being?
There’s a few more question we cover in the podcast. If you want more information of get involved with some of the pilots then see the links below and get in touch.

Or Are You About To Burn Out?
In this episode I go through the six signs that you are burning out or already burned out. As the changes occur over time, sometimes a long time, we don’t realise we are burning out.
The 6 areas which I see often with people who are burned out are:
There are a couple of things you can start to do to help with getting you back to some level of normality. It will take time though. Just as burning out happens over time, dealing with the consequences will also take some time.

Food, food, food!
We need it. We can’t live without it. Yet it’s also become a pain in our life. But hold on, it’s not really the food which makes it pain, but it’s our relationship with it.
My guest Ashley Messias (along with a friend) runs The Habit Society where they provide 3-minute newsletters every Monday morning with something you can do to make a difference in your life. Link is further down to sign up.
Ashley is a physiotherapist and a holistic nutritionist, and in this episode, we talk about the latter. Or rather, I pick Ashley’s brain and knowledge when it comes to fasting, healthy eating and our relationship with food.
Like many of us, some of our journeys starts with a personal issue. Ashley’s journey to better understanding food and then to becoming a nutritionist started with her own challenges with digesting food, which was later diagnosed as IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).
In this episode we cover the fascinating topic of fasting, as well our relationship with food, and how we eat in today’s world.
There’re a few surprises when it comes to fasting and losing weight, and just how we, as human, should be eating!

Clear Your Mind There's a tonne of things you can do to help clear your mind.
From meditation, journaling, sitting in a calm environment, listening to music, or concentrating and focusing on just one thing in front of you or in the distance.
Our daily lives appear to be full of things to do. Things we could do. Things we want.
We are also constantly bombarded with more information from our surroundings, our devices, our work, and from family and friends.
At times, the mind overdoses with thoughts. Swirling around, popping up uninvited, and then disappearing again just as fast. Making us annoyed we can’t remember the idea which popped up a few minutes again.
We also appear to have lost the ability to sit in peace. In a quiet place to slow down the racing thoughts. And then we go and make it so complicated when it comes to calming and clearing your mind.
There is simple solution you can put into practise!

Start moving your body to change your life and work!
One the foundations to living a full and vibrant life is to look after ourselves. I say there are three foundational pieces in living well – Sleep, Nutrition, and Movement (or exercise).
On this episode, my guest is LeAnn Smith from Seattle in the USA.
As we started talking, we ended up with a mini episode within the episode! Asking LeAnn how she got into Yoga and the wellness world led us to talk about transitioning from the corporate world to working for yourself.
This turned into a mini episode on what you can do to start a side-gig as you still work your main job! We share some lessons we learned as we made our transition to working for ourselves. Hope it’s helpful.
Anyhow, back to the main topic of this episode.
As a society we spend less time moving than we did a few decades ago and certainly far less than 100 years ago. We discuss how are humans designed when it comes to having sedentary lives. You already know the answer – we are designed to move. So, our current life styles and also work styles is getting in the way of our natural requirement to move or exercise.
We discuss, what it means and what you can do to get started in making a change and start adding movement and exercise as part of you each day.
LeAnn works with clients that are ‘stuck’ in their wellness journey either by injury, illness, disease or otherwise. Her motto is, ‘welcome home, your vibrant self awaits.”
With over fourteen years of corporate Human Resources experience, she brings a wealth of corporate, organizational knowledge and understanding.
She is a Yoga teacher, a personal trainer, and a Health and Nutritional coach.
I mentioned an article about recurring injuries and how to rebuild the body. The link is: https://www.outsideonline.com/health/training-performance/how-to-deal-with-injury-streak/

Leaders and leadership in uncertain times.
A little different to the usual episodes but one useful (I hope) to all you leaders out there. How are you finding the current environment and world? What does it mean to be a leader in current times?
I am with John Holmes, Director of Frontline Training Solutions. John is a trainer and has worked with companies across Europe as well some of the large institutions including Central Banks, Regulators, NATO, and the UN.
John runs an International Leadership & Management Skills programme working with leaders across industries and institutions.
I got the opportunity to talk about leadership and leaders in our current and uncertain times. What challenges leaders are facing and what are some of the things they can do to navigate the uncertainties.
One thing which sticks out for me from our conversation was when John said, “as a leader it isn’t about people trusting you, it’s if you make them feel safe”! A perspective I support.
I mention documentary “Stress – Portrait of a Killer” with Robert Sapolsky which is worth watching. You can find here on YouTube: https://youtu.be/cdW0-ilOeXY

Quick follow up episode on visualisation
I got a great question after I posted the visualisation episode a few days ago.

Hopefully this gives some clarification.

My guest Wendy Tamis-Robbins shares her story of she has dealt with anxiety for most of her life. The first time she noticed her panic attack was when she was six years old.
Wendy speaks about how the anxiety started, how it brought her to the point of calling a suicide helpline, and how she now shares her approach to dealing and managing anxiety.
Wendy has put her experience in her book – The Box, An Invitation to Freedom From Anxiety. She also gives talks to companies, educational institutions, and groups who want to learn more about helping people with anxiety.
And she runs her 3R program to help others.
Listening to Wendy and others who share their experience with anxiety, you realise you are not alone. There many who deal with the condition, and most of the time you would never know if you spoke to them.

Use Visualisation In Making Changes
Visualisation is a secret weapon which is under used when we are making changes in our life and our work. It a powerful way to re-wire your brain, the neurons, and neural pathways.
Visualisation is also a skill. A skill you can learn and develop with practise.
I talk through a simple exercise you can do to help you develop the skill of visualisation. In fact, you can create your own visualisation exercises.
As you get better, you can then use visualisation more effectively with the changes you want to make and see in your habits, routines, and behaviours.

Enthusiasm is a good thing, overall. But sometimes it can get in the way or upset your plan as you start your changing making journey.
Why can enthusiasm be a problem?
It can make you think you are ready to do more than you ready for right this minute. When you aren’t ready for the next level you can set yourself further back than where you started.
Take injuries in sport. If you are good for running 15 minutes at light speed, jumping up to running faster or longer after a few days opens you up for injury. Which could set you back several weeks.
There are more examples in the episode, and what you can do the keep building on your successes and keep enthusiasm at just the right level to keep moving forward.

How much sleep do you need?
Although an alternative question could have been – are you getting enough sleep? You probably aren’t. Depending on which study you read anything from 40% to over 60% of us are sleep deprived.
The latest neuroscience studies in sleep are helping us understand just why we sleep, and getting more and better sleep is a real benefit for our mind, body, and soul! So, knowing how much sleep we need is the first step to addressing our sleep shortage.
In this episode I talk about Sleep Cycles and how to use them to work out (and test out) just how much sleep you need.

It’s a question which is always asked. There are two parts to this episode. The first part answers the question and is based on various studies over the ages. The second part is how do go about living a life which is fulfilled and happier.
Back to the first part. There was a study by Harvard University which as been running for over 90 years! It was the study of adult development. Along with studying how adults developed and changed over time it also looked how happy people where. And what made their lives happier. You probably know the answer.
You can watch the Ted Talk video by Professor Robert Waldinger here: https://youtu.be/8KkKuTCFvzI
The second half the episode I look at an approach which I think will help you work on how you live your life. The attributes and characteristics you can develop to help with having a fuller and happier life. It’s from none other than Dr Stephen Covey who wrote the famous book ‘The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People', although the exercise I refer to in the podcast isn’t from this book! It’s from ‘First Things First”.

Shaun Doherty was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 24.
Hodgkinson Lymphoma, one of the cancers which has a good success rate of being treated. But he fell into the small group where the treatments were having less effect than usual.
It was during his fight with cancer he decided to look at how he could help himself, along with the varied treatments he was going through, to give his body the best chance of fighting and beating cancer.
It was then he came across Breathwork. Using breath and how to breathe to help him keep going each day, and to give focus to the things which matters.
Listen to Shaun’s fascinating journey from the day he was told he had cancer, and how breathwork helped him each day.
He now helps others to use breathwork to help with staying focused, calming the mind, dealing with overwhelm and a few more challenges we face each day.
Shaun also takes us through an exercise to help understand how to breathe which helps get the body to make best use of oxygen and carbon dioxide in each breath.

Why is it so easy to acquire bad or unhealthy habits? They seem to be so easy to pick up, yet the habit we want or are good for us are so difficult to the create and stick with.
Do you find this happens to you? Don’t worry, it’s not just you, it happens to all of us. There is good science behind why bad and unhealthy habits are so easy to acquire.
It’s because of the Habit Loop.
It’s worth reading the book ‘The Power of Habits’ by Charles Duhigg where he goes into detail about the habit loop. Although the habit loop does turn up in many other habit books albeit they may be embellished in some way, but essential it’s the 3-part habit loop.
I go through the three parts of the habit loop, and you will see, fairly quickly, how it works and how the parts determine how quickly you develop a habit (or not).

On this episode I am joined by Dr Keith Amoss. Our discussion centred around our values. Do we know what they? Do they change over time?
Keith goes through an exercise to help discover what are our values, so have a some paper and a pen handy when we get to that part. If you want to do the exercise then after the first set of instructions pause the podcast and come back to when you written down your thoughts.
We conversation took a few twists and turns as we explored topics linked to values and how behave.
Keith has extensive knowledge and experience with his PhD which included studying Human Values. Check his full profile on his website in the links below.

My guest on this episode is Angie Chaplin. When we first spoke, it was about Mindful Leadership and the plan was to cover things leaders can do to be more mindful, more aware or what’s happening around them, within their organisations, and in particular the lives of their people. With all the turmoil over the last 18 months it is a great topic to explore.
However, whenever you start having a chat with someone, you discover a little more about them. And as we talked it became clear there were aspects of Angie’s life, and her fights which would be helpful to others.
Hence the title “From Addiction to Mindful Leadership” because Angie will be speaking about her decade long alcohol addiction, and how she changed to fight and overcome this challenge. Then we look at her work with leaders in different companies and how she helps them become mindful leaders.
There’s plenty of tips in the talk and I love the part where Angie asks leaders to show her their calendar to see if it stands up to what they say are their values!

The self-help industry is massive. It's worth billions of dollars a year. Books play a significant part in it. Books come about because someone has a story to tell and share how they made changes to their life, or the author wants to share their method of change they used for themselves or with other people. Many times it's just an opinion which they think works.
There are countless books from the days of Napoleon Hill to James Clear (Atomic Habits) and many more nowadays. Making sense of all the information and content has become a challenge.
Having a lot of choice, on the face of it, seems a good place to me. But is it? How do you know what works?
I share four areas which I think you need to consider when it comes to reading self help books:
The science (or no science!) in the book
The options and frequency of books
The methodologies of each book/author
And what do you do next?
What do you think?

We all have tough days at work. We all have days when we know we need to get things done but just don’t feel like doing anything.
There could be all sorts of reason to feel this way. And this the time when you must show up. This is when you must push beyond the feelings and get on with it.
Even if we don’t feel like working or perhaps are not enjoying what you’re doing there is a way to help you get through and finish the day productively.
I cover four key things you can do to help you get organised and get the work done. It will take some practise and if you can keep to a similar routine on the days you are feeling positive it will make much easier to carry through the same activities when you are not feeling so motivated. Which is my you should never relay on motivation! (see earlier episode on not relying on motivation).
Have a listen and if you found it helpful, please share the podcast with one person you.
Thank you and enjoy the episode.

You may remember my guest Janine Mitchell from episode 76 when we talked about EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).
On today's episode, Janine is talking about part of her life when she found herself in an abusive relationship. As you will hear at the time there were no clear signs it was going to become an abusive relationship. Now, looking back she can join some of the dots which would have given her some early signs.
When we are in the thick of it, it’s difficult to see what is really going on. And the abuser, the manipulator will make it appear it’s your fault or it’s just in your head.
Janine talks about what happened, the stages the relationships went through, and what steps she took to leave. There are some great insights and advice from Janine if you find yourself in a controlling and abusive relationship.
For people who may have friends stuck in such relationships you can help. Be there to listen and give support when your friend wants it, and when they decide to step out of their circumstance.

Mental and Physical resilience are linked. They go hand in hand and will support each other.
But what we believe about mental resilience isn't accurate. At one point I thought, as did many others, it was some sort of shield. If I could become mentally resilient then I could weather everything and anything which the world could throw at me.
We don't come through tough times unscathed but we can learn to deal with those time much better and get through them, if you build you resilience well before the tough times. Listen to some suggestions.
I have spoken often about how to create habits, and you will probably hear more in future episodes! But in this episode at look at 3 ways (was 2 orginally) in how you can help strengthen and automate the habits you have consciously created to improve performance of make changes.
I also cover a little bit of science on what's happening around our neurons and neuralpathways which help the process of strengthening and automating of habits. Any questions drop me note on coach@comentra.com
You already know this - motivation is fickle!
One minute it's there and the next it's gone. It doesn't always get you started either. It feels good to be motivated but it does little to move you forward.
So what can you do?

Morning routines are great. They help get started and also look after your health and wellbeing (depending on what your routine involves!).
However, far more important is what you do to prepare for the day ahead. What you do each evening has an impact on what you will do in the morning and also for the rest of the day.

It's a serious commitment to work with a coach. And it's a big decision. I had thought people simply wanted to get things done. Achieve a goal, reach a target, and usually this is what prompts someone to start working with a coach.
A coach will help a client with the starting objectives/goals/targets which brought them together. However, when I ask clients what they valued in the coaching some the answers surprised me. It wasn't just about reach a goal!

Sunday Short Episode
One thing you can do this week to help you reduce stress and tension.
We all want to be fit and healthy. Getting started in taking regular exercise can be a difficult, particularly if you think you have to hit the gym for 2 hours or run a 5K each day.
If you haven't trained for some times this approach can lead to injury and then put you back further. In this episode I look at using your existing habits and routines to get you started, one step at a step...in some cases literally!

Building new habits is one thing, but losing those old habits is a totally different challenge. They always seem to get in the way when you want to change.

One thing you can do this coming week to make you focus on the next month.
Short episode and one action you can take as we head to the end of the month.
Regular topic for discussion with my clients, friends, and colleagues. Sleep is so important for our well being, understanding aspects of it to help us sleep better is valuable.
In this epsisode I talk about the 'sleep cycle'. How this affects how we sleep and whether we wake up feeling refreshed or feeling groggy.
Worth reading Matthew Walker's book - Why We Sleep for more detail and the science behind sleep or listen to the episode to get the core info you can use immediately!
Sleep well....
You've heard the saying "You are getting in your own way", I look at what does this mean and how you can take steps to 'getting out of your way'!
Want some support in getting out of your own way?
Drop me a note and we can grab 30 minutes to help you get moving - coach@comentra.com
This was prompted by several posts, memes, quotes which I saw recently on various social media platforms (Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram etc).
It may well be motivational but I wanted to add some sceince and reality to what it really takes to change a habit and a lifestyle. This way you will know the real effort needed and be prepared rather than disappointed when it doesn't happen within the 21-90 days timeframe.
There is a way...get in touch and I can help put together a plan based on YOU...
The Sunday short episode.
The one thing you can do, or start doing, this week.
Get back in touch....
Has it helped you?
Does being grateful and/or having a gratitude practice help with achieving the things you want?
I've changed my view over the years, partly because of neuroscience. As we are now starting to better understand how some aspects of our brain works. A gratitude practice and being grateful helps change perspectives in our mind.
Listen and find out more.
Adding to several episodes on job hunting I speak with Gabriella Parker on what you can do to make your CV stand out from the crowd. Your CV (or resume) is your first, or one of the first, interaction you will have with potential hiring managers. The CV isn't going to get you a job but it's key to get you talking to the people who are hiring.
Making you CV stand out from the crowd is key, particularly where the job market is flooded with people looking for a new role.
Gabriella talks about the changes she has made in her own life over the last year as well as the work she does helping people find their next role. Writing a compelling CV is something she does every day for candidates.
Listen to the latest tips and advice to make your CV catch the attention of hiring manager.
A frequently discussed topic!
Many of us want to get a great start to the day and stay o track to get done what's important to us. There's a several books on the topics and they give different ideas and views.
There's also many differnt approach you will hear from online videos and articles you will read. So, what does really work?
I was curious to know more about 'Tapping' or Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Another technique or tool which helps with dealing with stress, anxiety , low confidence, and more.
My guest Janine Mitchell has been working with people for a couple of decades and using EFT with great results with her clients. Janine talks through what is EFT and we go through a short example to address the sense of overwhelm which many of us face may be facing currently due the whats happening around the world.
If you are looking to work with a coach to make changes in your life and/or work, but not in a position to engage a coach then I hope this second episode will help in some way.
If you haven't listened to Part 1 (episode 72), it would be good to do so before this one.
It's all about taking action and building habits which enable to you to take action. You can come back to the episode as often as you need and go through the process. Final words - trust the process!
Words and talk are cheap. We say a whole lot of stuff and we commit to doing all sorts of things. We define our goals, our ambitions. We spend time, hours and days, on plans to achieve what we say we want.
Then the time comes to do something. To take action. This is the test. The test on just how committed you are to you goals and even more importantly, how committed you are to your commitment!

Find time for your mind and body to re-balance and bring some calmness to your day
If you are looking to work with a coach to make changes in your life and/or work, but not in a position to engage a coach then I hope this episode will help in some way.
It's a guided coaching session where I take you from the goal/objective/target you want to achieve to homing in to the one thing you could do to get you moving.

This episode is aiming to broaden the discussion and awareness of suicide.
Steve's son took his own life in late 2019 and through his (and his family and friends) experience we discuss this sensitive subject and how and where we can prevent suicide.
We can ALL help.
Check in on our families, friends, colleagues and neighbours. And also look after yourself and when you want help, ask for it.

Slighty different topic and angle for this episode. More than half of my coaching clients are from a sales background and it never suprises me when they say they have had sales training but still struggle with selling.
So, here is my few cents worth of what I have found over the years in sales and learned from my clients on why the standard sales training approach doesn't work for a large percentage of sales people.
Let me know your thoughts and experiences. Drop me note on coach@comentra.com
Our understanding about sleep has grown over the last couple of decades. There is a lot more going on when we sleep. Getting a good night's sleep is crucial to having a good day and allowing our mind to be clearer. Not to mention the preventative and maintenence measures the brain and body takes each time we sleep to stave off potentially harmful degenerative conditions.
I chat with The Sleep Fixer - Frances Taylor - on how sleep well and some of the preventative measures which happen when we sleep.
Listen and sleep well tonight...and every night!
My guest Kirsteen Williamson-Guinn helps people rebuild their confidence after a short or extended break from work. Things are never quite the same when getting back into work after some time away and one of the things which takes a hit is our confidence.
She talks through some challenges we face & how to rebuild confidence. We also touch on dealing with working from home and the isolation it can cause.
If you have ideas for topics you want covered please drop me a note on coach@comentra.com
The Sunday Short episode to focus on one thing you can do this week to start building a new habit and make changes to your life and work.
I look at the your start and end time for your working day.
You've probaby heard the saying "Eat the frog!" it's a metaphor for doing the tough thing you have for the day.
But do you really have to 'eat the frog' every day, first thing?
What if you are just not in the ideal place to do this?
Do you manage to eat the frog each day? What works for you?
Constructed Development...this was new to me. A way to understand how we learn and develop. Borne out a PhD study Dr Darren Stevens goes through what he observed about how we learn and develop. The episode was intended to look at adults mainly but we also delved into how we can help our children learn, develop, and be thinkers rather than just answer questions.
We don't spend enough time or effort in understanding how we work so we can figure out the best way to make changes and develop which suits us best.
Let me know what you think!
In earlier episodes - at the start of this podcast - I coverd the science behind habits and also how long it takes for a habit to form. In this episode I take about repetition of a habit and how the number of times you repeat a habits affects whether it becomes 'automated'.
A question was raised about things you can repeat several times in a day and others which you may only be able to action once a day ad how that affects when an activity/action becomes a habits.
Hope it gives clarification!
Health, fitness, and confidence tend to help support each other! Building confidence can helped further when you are physically active. Lisa Moore talks through some of the things you can do to build your confidence.
Lisa started out as a personal fitness trainer which she still does, however over time she has been helping people build their confidence to make changes in different aspects of their lives.
Lisa talks through a tough decision she had to make which meant starting over and how she helps people build confidence and take action.
Following on from the earlier episode on Hypnosis, I am with Rory Z Fulcher talking about street and stage hypnosis.
Looking at what are the key differences when to hypnosis when used as part of entertainment as opposed to therapy.
Can anyone be hypnotised? Find out if this is true as well as the art of rapid hypnosis which is key to stage and street hypnosis.
We go thrpugh a short exercise on self hypnosis if anyone wants to try it for themselves!
This is an eye and mind opening episode. Lessons on how to deal with life when it ambushes you as well talking about become leaders, health, relationships, and what's your life legacy.
Lieutenant Jason Redmond is an author, speaker, and trainer. Sharing his experience on how to deal with what he calls 'life ambushes' - when things hit you and have to work out what to do.
Jason was riddled with bullets after an ambush whilst on a tour of duty and talks how he fought back from the hospital bed when the experts where less than confident on his recovery.
Some great advice on coming back when the odds are stacked against you.
This is a mind-opening episode with Dr. Kate Beaven-Marks about hypnosis and hypnotherapy We cover everything from the history of hypnosis to how hypnotherapy works. There's even a bit about working out how you can use self-hypnosis.
We mention some online course at hypnosis-courses.com and you get a 25% discount when you use the code PODCAST. Applies for a limited time - ends 30th Jan 2021.
If you have any questions or want to know more drop me note at coach@comentra.com
When you have set your goals, the one thing you must do is set up an easy track and measure system. This tends to get missed or underplayed when we think about goal setting. We become so engrossed in how to set achievable goals or how to create smart goals, we over look how to make sure we stay on track.
Goal tracking and measuring is key to keep you moving forward. It does three important things - listen to the podcast and find what they are.
If you want to set up your own track & measure system for your goals and wants some help, drop me a note on coach@comentra.com
Making the best first impression and going through an interview with poise and confident is an art which can make the difference in a tough job market.
My guest, Josie Gammell, who appeared in 'Girl Interrupted' with Angelina Jolie, takes us through a range of things you can do to prepare and 'perform' at your best your job interview.
Please take the time to listen to the whole of the episode as Josie really does share a ton of valuable tips.
I wish you the very best in your job hunt!
It's helpful when we get some advice and guidance from people who know a thing or two about job hunting, writing CVs (resume), interviews and so on when it comes to job hunting.
However, in this episode Chris Russell share his experience of looking for a job during the pandemic. First being furloughed and then made redundant. He talks us through what helps him each day to keep up his morale and his own tips on job hunting.
If you want to suggest a topic/subject for an episode drop me a note on coach@comentra.com
What does the word 'streaking' bring to mind?
Jami and Jeff Downs have been streaking for a few years, and not in the way you may be thinking!
It's an awesome approach to do small things each day to help you reach the big goal, milestones, objectives, or targets you may have. It's definietly the 'small acorns grow into big oak trees' analogy.
We cover the approach they have developed over several years and if you want to know more, go buy their book called STREAKING!
Fears.
We have plenty of them - sometimes they help us and keep us safe. A lot of the time they get in the way and stop us moving forward, stop us taking action.
Career coach Julie Greaves talks us through the different aspects of fear, how it shows up, and what we can do to make it work for us when we want to.

This episode was prompted by a discussion with friend who was going through a tough patch. He also felt people he had helped and supported where not helping him.
As we spoke a few facts and realisation came through which basically says we shouldn't wait for othes to help you. There is too much happening in peoples lives and we are all caught up in our own situations & circumstances and tend to have little regard for others.
So what can you do?
Work, work, work...
Sure, it;s what we have to do. What we do to for ourself and to take care of the ones closest to us. But you already know...it will grind you down. Slowly and surely it will wear you down physically and mentally.
Take a break.
Not at the end of the week, not at the end of the month.
Make it each day, every day.
For you, your loved ones.
I cover three things which we think will lead us to success. And sometimes we thing just one of these will do and we will have abundance rain down on us.
You know it isn't true!
In this episode I take a quick run through on 'Luck', 'Talent', and 'Hard Work'. I'm sure you have guessed what I'm going to say, but listen in to this short episode to re-align you thoughts and put in the effort where it it can do you good across all three.
Following on from the early episode on a meditation approach this one looks at a breathing exercise. I have found this exercise worked for me when I needed to take a moment to calm my mind from rising stress, anxiety, and panic attacks.
It's an exercice you can do whenever and wherever. Doesn't take too long and is handy to know.
Let me know if it worked for you.
Look after yourself, your body and your mind!
With so much going on in the world, stress levels have risen for many of us, and they seem to keep rising. Trying to find some calm within ourselves is also being tested.
You will hear meditation is helpful. It certain does help as I found over the years. There are may approaches to meditating. This is my approach which I learned from a few people over the years.
It helped me understand the purpose of meditation and then a practice which worked for me. I hope this is useful for you.
I cover thoughts and breath focus as part of my meditation.
Imposter Syndrome. Hits many of us. Causes stress and uncertainty when you start to believe your success was a mistake. Julie Greaves works with clients and regularly helps people overcome their personal imposter syndrome.

Insulin plays a key part in our health, well-being, and digestion. Learning more about how our body works helps to make changes more effectively. Doesn't mean it's any easier but at least we better understand how what we eat impacts us.
As I better understand insulin, there were three things which I want to share. Which I hope will help in managing what and how we eat to manage our insulins levels. As we know, high insulin levels over time can lead to type 2 diabetes and the knock on effects can have even worse outcomes.
