This week as I reflected on Dr. Martin Luther King , a social activist, Baptist minister, a part of the American civil rights movement, Nobel peace prize recipient, husband, father, and friend to many, I couldn't help but ask myself; what drove this man to forsake personal pleasure to pursue something he deemed far greater than himself?

The events of January 6, 2021 left me heartbroken and heartsick. Sitting in prayer, God revealed something to me that I've come to realize more and more...
Christmas is a special time. It's the time we think about the one true gift we have all been given--the gift of life through the Son, Jesus Christ.
We have learned that time is not always guaranteed. We have learned to value and cherish time with those we love. Most importantly we have learned to find joy in the little things. God is present always and when we choose to feel God's presence, we experience joy.
Peace is wholeness … it’s about being complete. That completeness points to only one person, the personhood of Jesus Christ, himself. Our faith in Jesus Christ is peace, the ultimate peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding. No matter what you are going through, he is right there with you.
The year 2020 will go down in the history books as a year so many of us realized just how much we need Jesus in our lives. When God is the center of our lives, so are hope and joy. As we enter into the Advent season, let's remember how important hope is to us all.
In this week's podcast, I'm going to share with you a story about my sister. I hope you will think of your own family and friends and remember to give God thanks for how He has blessed you this year--even through the most tumultuous year in modern history.

Even in the fear, even in the unknown, even in the panic, God through His Word provides the rescue. In this life, there is nothing we will experience or face that God cannot help us through. Jesus is the remedy that heals our mental anguish and disease. Only when we make a conscious choice to accept the remedy will we receive the cure.
We have been called to be like God in purpose, love, action and most of all in sacrifice. God does have a plan for our lives. We are called to exercise obedience and trust. Can passion co-exist with purpose? My answer is YES!
This week, Pastor Mamie examines trust. What does trust mean in our lives and why does God ask us to trust Him in hard times? In God's infinite and intimate knowledge of our lives, He knew we would experience a need for the power that only He can provide.
Who doesn't want to be comfortable? Hopefully you are beginning to find comfort in your new normal. We know that our Father provides us with comfort through the Lord Jesus Christ. We are reminded, "Let not your heart be troubled."

When we humbly come before God in prayer, He extends grace and mercy to us. In prayer, God is faithful. When we come to Him in reverent prayer, we can expect that He will hear us and answer us because God sees us through the lens of Christ.
Just as my husband prepares his popcorn, with prayer there is an attitude of expectation, preparation, anticipation, explosion and joy as we go through prayer we are tasting and seeing that the Lord is good. Prayer opens up our understanding so that we too may partake in God's wisdom.
Today, we're going to talk about time. Each season marks the passing of time. When we think about the summer of 2020, I think we can all agree it has been like no other. This season has brought nothing less than hopelessness, joblessness, lockdown, sickness and sadness. This season was about weathering change. There are blessings and adversity in every season, but God is the only ONE who will sustain us from beginning to end.
I pray every day that it is your humble pursuit to know the love of Christ. It's the kind of love that loves everyone and everything. It's the kind of love God calls us to give, exhibit and convey. May you one day be able to experience the Power of Christ's love.

God understands and if you hang in there and trust Him, you’ll get through to the other side.
This week I thought I would answer some questions about what hope is. Hope is one thing. Hope is Christ. Hope is believing that he is.
