"This is a true story. It just hasn't happened...yet."

While considering his imminent death, an old man senses the existence of a force that holds his soul to his body—a force even Einstein never imagined—and he’s drawn into the struggle between good and evil.
From postwar London in 1946 to LBJ’s ranch in 1964, and then to a small Catholic church in northern Minnesota, real history begins to blur with conjecture and myth. Otto’s Portal rests between the abyss of man’s fears and the apex of his science, while a disparate cast of characters seeks redemption.

Ruta's Closet tells the compelling Holocaust story of a Jewish family, imprisoned in the tiny Shavl ghetto in Lithuania. The Kron family survived the horror of the Nazi regime, thanks to the resourcefulness of Meyer and Gita Kron and the bravery of their rescuers. While Ruta's Closet is based on fact, it reads like fiction. The drama of the events described and the richness of the characters make it a compelling work of narrative nonfiction-as intriguing as it is inspirational. The Krons are the focus but horrific events in the ghetto are also revealed, including mass murders, a Nazi ban on births, the removal of all children to the Auschwitz gas chambers. All dreadful events; but accounts of brave rescues and daring acts offer hope for humanity. Ruta's Closet is also the focus of a Holocaust awareness podcast series, available from all popular platforms. High School teachers can also download a teacher's guide and classroom activities recommendations, authored by the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre. Adult readers can download Book Club Talking Points, also authored by VHEC. Both guides, along with additional informative audio and text material, are hosted at the book's interactive website, rutascloset.com.

Crossing the Bronx is an historical literary novel set primarily in the 1950s in The Bronx. It is a modern retelling of the Jacob and Esau story from Genesis. The narrative that propels the story forward concerns the destruction of a neighborhood in the guise of progress. Jay and Eric, the sons of Ike (an Italian Jew), and Rebekeh, (a Mountain Jew), are estranged-as are their parents-and find themselves on opposite sides of a bitter struggle that pits those in power against the defenseless people of a local community.Eric has aligned himself with his father Ike, who by day is a cop-and at other times works surreptitiously for a mobbed-up construction company engaged in major projects transforming New York City-while his younger brother Jay is allied with his mother and with a neighborhood group fighting to preserve its very soul. Their fractious relationship speaks to the issues of how families split apart, and whether or not the pieces can ever be put back together. In addition to sustained tension-filled action, Crossing the Bronx is a story of romance, commitments, beliefs, and triumphs over adversities (lies, theft, murder, concealment, prejudice). Through vivid descriptions, perceptive insights, humor and sensitivity, the reader identifies with the characters who come to life in a realistic fashion to illustrate who we are, how we behave, and what causes us to change. The novel is fast-paced, with uncompromising realism, reflecting the unrelenting tension between antagonists and the anxieties that overwhelm those without power. The underbelly of the criminal and political world is evidenced by brutality, rapaciousness, and a never-ending desire to seek retribution. A love story between Jay and his girlfriend Francesca counter-balances the grimness to show how some people can overcome the odds stacked against them by their birth and places of origin. Smart, savvy women (Francesca, Rebekah, Francesca's grandmother "Nonna Ebrea"-who thinks she is descended from Conversos-and Jay's therapist Dr. Leah Silverman) provide a strong counterbalance to the lies, thefts, beatings, concealments, murders, and prejudice evidenced by the men.It is populated by colorful Italian, Irish, Black, Puerto Rican, and Jewish characters from a variety of different backgrounds; the novel sparkles with dialogue that is representative of their respective cultures

WHEN YOUR KID IS LITTLE, the paradoxes of parenting are simple: you can love your child to death, and also be willing to do anything to get them to go the fuck to sleep. But by the time your precious little baby bird is getting ready to spread its wings and leave the nest? That’s a whole different level of complexity. You’re happy and sad. Thrilled and devastated. You want to give them all the advice you can, but you know they’ve got to make their own mistakes. You want them to know they can always come home, but also you’re turning their bedroom into a gym. With Adam Mansbach’s trademark honesty, humor, and profanity, Go the Fuck to College perfectly captures the complicated emotional reality of this poignant, fraught, exciting time. Because of this dedication to privacy, and a desire to maintain the mystery and exclusivity of the last bastion of solitude for the President, few comprehensive accounts exist detailing the storied history of Camp David and the role the “Spirit of Camp David” plays in world affairs.

In this episode, I spoke with author Ann Berman about her book "Louis Graveraet Kaufman: The Fabulous Michigan Gatsby Who Conquered Wall Street, Took Over General Motors, and Built the World's Tallest Building" This fascinating biography recounts the life and legacy of a titan of American banking, Louis Graveraet Kaufman (1870–1942). Also known as LG, he was a Gatsbyesque figure born in Michigan's Upper Peninsula who married into great wealth and then amassed far more of his own.

Under LG, New York's Chatham Phenix National Bank and Trust Company became one of the nation's largest banks and the first in New York to boast a network of branches. When he was denied entry into the exclusive, Protestant, old-money Huron Mountain Club, LG responded by building his own retreat: the world's largest log lodge, a 26,000-square-foot behemoth near Marquette, Michigan. Christened Granot Loma, it became the site of lavish Prohibition-era parties, attracting many celebrities who came in private rail cars to enjoy jazz and liquor chez Kaufman.

James Lott Jr has an in depth discussion with author Mary E Roach about her latest book (available for Pre order/Out July 29th).Two women in love and in danger. Mob families at war. An explosive and enthralling contemporary reimagining of the Helen of Troy myth set against the splendor of the Grecian islands. Paris is a fixer for mob families on the Grecian islands when a powerful crime lord hires her to investigate a bombing. Insinuating herself into Zarek’s circle is the chance for revenge that Paris has been waiting for since she was a child. Years ago, Zarek wiped out everyone she loved. Now it’s Paris’s turn. Her target? Zarek’s beautiful daughter, Helen. Helen wants nothing more than to abandon the violent world in which she was raised―and worse, an arranged marriage to a man she barely knows. In Paris, Helen sees the perfect tool to help her escape. And in Helen, Paris sees a desperate woman who will be the perfect revenge. As the two work together to find the bomber, and their connection becomes increasingly intimate, Zarek’s empire grows more fragile and their own bonds of loyalty and purpose are tested. When murder sends them fleeing to Troy, danger only brings Paris and Helen closer together―in love, in fury, and in the will to survive. If Zarek wants a war, Paris and Helen are ready to ignite it.

Growing up in Connecticut and Long Island, New York, McGinniss studied Arabic and Middle Eastern history at Georgetown University and traveled to Jordan, Turkey, Israel, Lebanon, and Egypt’s Tahrir Square less than a month before it became the flashpoint for the widespread protests and revolutions that erupted during the Arab Spring.
McGinniss next worked at the Al-Jazeera program “Min Washington,” broadcasting to households in Arabic throughout the Middle East, at NBC News’s Washington Bureau as a production assistant, and as the video director at Daily Caller, where he built a team of ten video producers.
While covering the demonstrations in Kenosha, Wisconsin, sparked by the police shooting of a black man named Jacob Blake, McGinniss witnessed Kyle Rittenhouse shoot Joseph Rosenbaum and nearly got shot himself when a bullet ricocheted near his foot. McGinniss was plunged into the national spotlight and was praised for his clear, non-biased reporting of the violence. As The New Yorker observed in its trial coverage, “when McGinniss testified, he strove to be as assiduously neutral about the shooting as he had been in interviews with me and with others.”
After his appearance on Tucker Carlson was taken out of context by CNN, McGinniss’s straightforward appearance not only corrected the record, it also showed how one person can compel a news corporation to diverge from preset talking points and relay to the public the truth behind a shooting that will go down in history as the peak of 2020’s unrest.
But McGinniss soon found himself a political lightning rod. Donald Trump’s MAGA supporters initially celebrated McGinniss for not vilifying Rittenhouse and merely reporting what he saw. During the trial, his role as a named victim put him in the crosshairs of the political right. After Rittenhouse’s acquittal on murder charges, McGinniss felt the wrath of Black Lives Matters supporters and others. “I was really the friend of nobody,” he says.

James has a fun conversation with the East Coast based performer. YawnyBlew is the brainchild of Brooklyn-based songwriter Johny Gonzalez. Debuting in 2020, YawnyBlew was initially a vehicle to showcase music during the global pandemic, but eventually evolved into a vehicle for self discovery, artist expression and industry reform for the Grammy and NME nominated creative. Beginning his professional songwriting career in 2017, Yawny scored his first placement “Light It All Up” for the television series Empire. Produced by Rodney Jerkins, the protest anthem was featured in season 3 and sung by Rumer Willis. He would go on to pen three additional songs that season for Jussie Smollett, a major win for Yawny, a queer boy from The Bronx, NY who dreamed of uplifting others like himself with his music. In the years since, Yawny has been working hard behind the scenes writing for the likes of Keiynan Lonsdale, Dyllon Burnside, Maeta, Cocoa Sarai and Cam Anthony. He would be one of the key creatives behind Thai Pop singer Pyra, who's music has been called “dystopian pop” and features themes of feminism, self discovery, queer exploration and more. Their work together scored several NME Award nominations in 2022. Later that same year he would mentor under Pharrell Williams while crafting songs for TikTok star Marley Bleu. As YawnyBlew, he unapologetically champions body positivity and queerness on songs like “Can’t Compete,” and “Curious?” made in collaboration with Brooklyn based multi-hyphenate Tarik “amir.” Carroll. Their collaborative debut DREAMBIIG was released in Oct 2023. Elsewhere on solo songs like “driveslow,” Yawny talks about figuring out life on your own terms while not being afraid to live authentically. Following the launch of his podcast BIIGGER THAN OUR DREAMS in 2022, Yawny has been stepping out more into the public speaking realm, discussing issues that directly affect marginalized creatives and how they show up in the world. His abilities to tell other’s stories through his journalist works (The Source Magazine, The Music Times) and podcast endeavors caught the attention of tech giant META, where Yawny serves as a Music Coordinator and communication strategist for Meta’s Music. yawnyblew.com

In the summer of 1941, 11-year-old Wolf is growing up amidst the rubble and antisemitism of war-torn Nazi Berlin. Destitute and facing deportation, he must leave behind his sister and travel with his family across a continent entrenched in war. With nothing in hand but expired visas to the US, Wolf and his family must figure out how to sneak aboard the Spanish freighter the Navemar, a ship that would gain its reputation as the “Hell Ship of Death.” But this is only the beginning of Wolf’s saga.
James Lott Jr speaks with the author Audrey Birnbaum.Growing up in New York in the late 1960s, Audrey Birnbaum assumed that watching Holocaust documentaries was a perfectly normal family activity. On her first day of elementary school, Audrey sat in the cafeteria, unwrapped her liverwurst sandwich, and excitedly told her new classmates about her public television proclivities. Her Brady Bunch-watching peers had never heard of PBS, but they had heard of PB&J (and they weren't too keen on liverwurst either). They made it abundantly clear: Audrey's childhood was, in fact, not normal at all.We will never know whether it was schoolyard bullying or watching tragic Shoah documentaries that was responsible for Audrey's acute sensitivity to others; but that empathy may have helped pave the way for her choice of medicine as a career. Audrey chose to specialize in Pediatric Gastroenterology - for who needed more help than children; and where could anyone feel more suffering than in one's gut? Day after day, she watched intricate family dynamics play out in the context of fragile health. Audrey listened to each patient's story until she could retell it with clarity and give it meaning. Through witnessing and recording these tender dramas, the seeds of writing had been planted. Those seeds took root when, shortly after her father's death in 2018, Audrey stumbled upon his extensive notes detailing his childhood escape from Nazi Germany. Audrey felt compelled to start writing his riveting story - a story addressing themes that are pressingly relevant today. American Wolf deals with tragedy and loss, while punctuating the triumph of the human spirit. It is a memoir of Holocaust survival, a family drama, an immigration tale, and an often funny coming-of-age story that is sure to have an impact on anyone who has experienced prejudice, displacement, or questions about their identity. With her cherished medical career in the rear-view mirror, Audrey now enjoys singing, writing, reading, and being with friends who also had quirky childhoods. She lives with her husband in Westchester County, New York, and has three marvelous grown children. Audrey is currently working on her second book. audreybirnbaumauthor.com

New York City-based recording artist, Sam Sugarman is celebrating the forthcoming re-release of her debut EP, “Lion’s Den” in the newest chapter of her artistry as a singer-songwriter. Delivered by grounding vocals reminiscent of Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane), Sugarman’s lyrics tempt the listener to journey afar and to use her music as the catalyst for internal awakening. Despite occasional sonic nods to legends like Joan Baez, Dolores O’Riordan (The Cranberries) and James Taylor, Sugarman remains a modern entity molded by her fascinating upbringing and promising future in the music industry.
Sugarman’s career exploits first garnered her acclaim from the bosom of her upbringing in Buffalo, New York. From local residencies to festivals and even having her music on the radio, Buffalo embraced Sugarman and endowed her with the Difference Maker Award. In 2019, she created “7-1-6 Music Gives Back” (Buffalo’s area code) - designed to partner with nonprofits to raise money through benefit concerts. That same year, Sugarman and her team raised over $2,000 for the Holocaust Resource Center of Buffalo. While her sights are set worldwide, Sugarman continues to be grateful for the foundation laid in her hometown.
As a young student with a penchant for opera and musical theater, Sugarman went on to study vocal performance at Carnegie Mellon. Her values around freedom of expression combined with the structure and technical skills gained in this chapter of her life propelled Sugarman forward with a career in music as a vocal instructor, helping other aspiring vocalists to hone their craft. The choice of occupation is precious to her as Sugarman seeks to make an impact on the singers she works with today, just as her late voice teacher inspired her throughout her life.
With so much of the world to make an introduction to, Sugarman is elated by the possibilities left to unfold and the notion of all that’s in store for the rest of 2023. Asked about what she hopes to achieve through her music, Sugarman says, “I hope to move listeners into someplace new - to help bring some presence and clarity where there may be hardship and turmoil.” Sugarman’s next release will be available May 29th when she puts forth “Guinnevere”, a cover of the Crosby, Stills & Nash ethereal classic which the late, David Crosby wrote about three different loves of his life.

Lee had me in stiches one minute and dropping knowledge that left me speechless in another. He is super talented and has written TV shows, books based on shows, Films, and including a book series with Janet Evanovich! he put himself through UCLA as a freelance journalist, writing for such publications as American Film, Starlog, Newsweek, The Los Angeles Times Syndicate, The Washington Post and The San Francisco Chronicle (He also wrote erotic letters to the editor for Playgirl at $25-a-letter, but he doesn't tell people about that, he just likes to boast about those "tiffany" credits). He published his first book ".357 Vigilante" (as "Ian Ludlow," so he'd be on the shelf next to Robert Ludlum) while he was still a UCLA student. The West Coast Review of Books called his debut "as stunning as the report of a .357 Magnum, a dynamic premiere effort," singling the book out as "The Best New Paperback Series" of the year. Naturally, the publisher promptly went bankrupt and he never saw a dime in royalties. (But the books are available on the Kindle as "The Jury Series") Welcome to publishing, Lee. His subsequent books include the non-fiction books "Successful Television Writing" and "Unsold Television Pilots" ("The Best Bathroom Reading Ever!" San Francisco Chronicle) as well as the novels "My Gun Has Bullets" ("It will make you cackle like a sitcom laugh track," Entertainment Weekly), "Dead Space" ("Outrageously entertaining," Kirkus Reviews), "Watch Me Die" ("as dark and twisted as anything Hammet or Chandler ever dreamed up," Kirkus Reviews).Goldberg broke into television with a freelance script sale to "Spenser: For Hire." Since then, his TV writing & producing credits have covered a wide variety of genres, including sci-fi (SeaQuest), cop shows (Hunter, The Glades), martial arts (Martial Law), whodunits (Diagnosis Murder, Nero Wolfe), the occult (She-Wolf of London), kid's shows (R.L. Stine's The Nightmare Room), T&A (Baywatch), comedy (Monk) and utter crap (The Highwayman). His TV work has earned him two Edgar Award nominations from the Mystery Writers of America. His two careers, novelist and TV writer, merged when he began writing the "Diagnosis Murder" series of original novels, based on the hit CBS TV mystery that he also wrote and produced, and later wrote the 15 bestselling novels based on "Monk," another show that he worked on. He is co-creator of the hit Hallmark movie series "Mystery 101." He also he teamed up with Janet Evanovich to write the #1 New York Times bestselling Fox & O'Hare novels ("The Heist," "The Chase," "The Job," "The Scam," "The Pursuit"). His most recent books include the thriller "True Fiction" and the police procedural "Lost Hills." But perhaps he's best known for his pioneering work mapping the human genome and negotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement. Goldberg lives in Los Angeles with his wife and his daughter and still sleeps in "Man From UNCLE" pajamas. His latest book is Malibu Burning! Its soo good! leegoldberg.com

He HANDWRITES his books!!! James has a great convo with JD about his new book, Darling, You're Not Alone AND his letter writing champaign!
Former college basketball player turned author JD Slajchert’s national letter writing project is inspired by the storyline of his new novel “Darling, You’re Not Alone” as it encourages everyone to hand-write notes to someone who made a difference in their life – and tell them (perhaps before it’s too late), they are thought of and appreciated.
JD Slajchert is an American novelist, speaker, and philanthropist. The former University of California, Santa Barbara basketball star debuts his second novel, “Darling, You’re Not Alone” in the fall of 2022.
Slajchert’s journey to published author began innocently as a letter exchange with a friend, which eventually became the backbone to his debut novel, “MoonFlower” in 2018.

PANDEMIC PILLOW TALK- New limited short-form web series tackles dating in a Covid world

Premiering Wednesday, April 27th

New episodes every Wednesday thereafter at…www.PandemicPillowTalk.com

They say that necessity is the mother of invention. This certainly proves to be true for filmmakers Summer Moore (creator, writer, lead actress) and Starr Session (producer). When Covid caused the world to lock down, these creative gals got busy building a new web series that chronicles and finds humor in the often painful experience of virtual dating in a new age. This series is produced, written, directed and edited by women!

“I felt that it was really important to write a series that incorporated women in as many character roles as possible, which was a challenge since it was about dating men. So you'll see them popping up throughout it. I also specifically put the language in there to focus on women, changing common sayings to make them feminine. We also wanted to give women editors a voice in comedy, because this is often overlooked. I'm very proud of all the hard work that has gone into this series and how it turned out!”- Summer Moore

”We wanted to create a series that really captures the female dating experience and having an all-female creative team really does it in the truest sense while adding lots of humor. We are proud of what we have accomplished with this series.”- Starr Session

Shot completely on iPhones by each cast member while at home on pandemic shutdown, the 9-episode PANDEMIC PILLOW TALK follows the daily dating routine of Mackenzie (Moore), a single woman hoping to find her true love. Unfortunately she finds out that there are way more frogs than handsome princes in the world of cyber dating. In each 5-7 minute episode, we eaves drop into what proves to be a very chaotic, pathetic, desperate and always hysterical experience for the hopeful romantic.

Making matters more complicated for Mackenzie are her wacky, over the top and always inappropriate parents, Buck and Bertha played wonderfully by Eric Roberts and his real life wife, Eliza Roberts. The overbearing couple often show up at the most inopportune times, injecting themselves in on the date while successfully embarrassing their daughter in front of a parade of would-be suitors.

James Lott Jr chats with the author of a page turner of a book,All Sorrows Can Be Borne, Loren Stephens! Inspired by true events, All Sorrows Can Be Borne is the story of Noriko Ito, a Japanese woman faced with unimaginable circumstances that force her to give up her son to save her husband. Set in Hiroshima, Osaka, and the badlands of eastern Montana and spanning the start of World War II to 1982, this breathtaking novel is told primarily in the voice of Noriko, a feisty aspiring actress who fails her audition to enter the Takarazuka Theater Academy. Instead, she takes the “part” of a waitress at a European-style tearoom in Osaka where she meets the mysterious and handsome manager, Ichiro Uchida. They fall in love over music and marry. Soon after Noriko becomes pregnant during their seaside honeymoon, Ichiro is diagnosed with tuberculosis destroying their dreams.

Noriko gives birth to a healthy baby boy, but to give the child a better life, Ichiro convinces her to give the toddler to his older sister and her Japanese-American husband, who live in Montana. Noriko holds on to the belief that this inconceivable sacrifice will lead to her husband’s recovery. What happens next is unexpected and shocking and will affect Noriko for the rest of her life.

Eighteen years later, her son enlists in the U.S. Navy and is sent to Japan. Finally, he is set to meet his birth mother, but their reunion cracks open the pain and suffering Noriko has endured.

With depth and tenderness, All Sorrows Can Be Borne is a harrowing and beautifully written novel that explores how families are shaped by political and economic circumstances, tremendous loss and ultimately forgiveness.

One night Abby Ross's toilet clogged and inspired her to write a book. She spent the next two years interviewing plumbers — men and women across North America. The outcome hit in February 2020 when “The Poop Diaries" was released on Amazon.com. It was listed as a #2 top new release (very fitting) in the humor and business section and went on to become a #1 best seller that has received hundreds of positive reviews to date. Its publisher is Black Rose Writing.

"The Poop Diaries" features stories from plumbers about their "greatest hit" service calls, and the oddest, most interesting people they have met. Ms. Ross interviewed plumbers who have found snakes, sex toys, weapons, ghosts, mice, drugs, squirrels and so much more. They have also met plenty of interesting, unforgettable people, such as a guy who refused to get out of theshower while the plumber fixed the shower drain, or a woman who refused to get out of bed as the plumber changed the air conditioner unit directly above her. One female plumber even broke up a marriage after what she had found in a client's home. A 91-year-old woman asked a plumber if he wanted to see her "little titties."

While the book is funny, it also brings humanity to a profession not many of us think about — plumbing. Plumbers see us in our most vulnerable moments yet we know next to nothing about them. Plumbing is also a profession that is often misunderstood. It's lucrative, creative and entrepreneurial. Plumbers are unsung heroes, and the book includes heartfelt stories about how they have helped those in need.

In addition, in 2013 she was nominated Best Supporting Actress at the Saint Tropez International Film Festival for her role in the feature film, "The Warrior and The Savior." Judi's talents were also showcased when she starred in a short film at the Cannes Film Festival- "Perfect Pitch," which won Best Film, amid tough competition.

In theaters Judi can be seen in Dany Boon's top grossing film, "La Ch'tite Famille" (Dany Boon, François Berléand, Line Renaud, Valérie Bonneton, Laurence Arné, and Guy Lecluyse) produced by Pathé. Upcoming roles include, 'La Garçonne" mini-series for France Television,

In a small conservative Florida town in the 1980s, eight patients alleged that Dr. David Acer, their dentist, infected them with HIV. David’s gayness, along with his sickly appearance from his own AIDS-related illness, made him the perfect scapegoat and victim of mob mentality. In these early years of the AIDS epidemic, when transmission was little understood, and homophobia rampant, people like David were villainized. Accuser Kimberly Bergalis landed a People magazine cover story, while others went on talk shows and made front page news.
With a poet’s eulogistic and psychological intensity, Steven Reigns recovers the life and death of this man who also stands in for so many lives destroyed not only by HIV, but a diseased society that used stigma against the most vulnerable. It’s impossible not to make connections between this story and how the twenty- first century pandemic has also been defined by medical misinformation and cultural bias.
Inspired by years of investigative research into the lives of David and those who denounced him, Reigns has stitched together a hauntingly poetic narrative that retraces an American history, questioning the fervor of his accusers, and recuperating a gay life previously shrouded in secrecy and shame.

Blak Emoji is the brainchild of NYC producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Kelsey Warren. Blending pop inspirations with an emphasis on electronic music, synth sounds and intricate writing, Kelsey's sonic dream is brought to life.

The debut Blak Emoji EP, "INTRO" (2017) was the first of several successive releases with two albums, a sophomore EP and now a third album due in October. Warren has received a variety of accolades from notable publications including Rolling Stone, Afro-Punk, Line Best Of Fit, BUST, Popmuzik, Vampire Freaks and Ghost Cult Magazine. Blak Emoji songs "Velvet Ropes & Dive Bars" and "Poison To Medicine" made their way to ABC's Quantico while "Sapiosexual" appeared in several indie films.

Warren was immersed in soul/R&B and pop music growing up in South Jersey. But after learning piano concertos, jazz guitar standards, drums and other instruments, Warren threw in a monkey wrench of hip-hop, punk and minimalist classical which took his sonic journey to new destinations. He supplemented his ever-expanding musical taste with a dense love of electronic music and synth inspiration from Kraftwerk to Prince to NIN.

In 2019, Warren miraculously managed to assemble a brief European solo tour, a solo NYC residency, and he decided to produce and direct a debut political/musical documentary covering the presidential election. Quarantine didn't prove to slow down Warren who has spent the duration of the pandemic producing numerous artists, directing music videos and dropping an avant-electronic instrumental Blak Emoji album, "Antidote". In anticipation of his forthcoming album, Warren has released two singles which have received noted acclaim from Wonderland and Fame Magazine. The album is due October 1st of 2021.

Host James Lott Jr has an important conversation with Stanley W Mathis!
The play "Preachin’ to the Choir/An Inconvenient Truth" is described as a multimedia memorial ‘choreopoem’, following a young BLM documentary Student Activist, Justice Jamal Obatala, as he attends the Annual AfroPunk Festival in New York City. This year’s celebration takes him on a unique path when he befriends a homeless woman known throughout the community as Neighborhood Nana. The entire experience is documented on his cell phone, but is he the documentor or the documented? Join the festivities and witness SANKOFA!

Mathis makes his debut as a Playwright with "Preachin/ to the Choir/An Inconvenient Truth". “This is my first public submission as a Playwright. The Ancestors spoke to me and would not let me rest until it was on paper. I had no choice, but to pick up the sword and write, moving me once again to activism, I pray it will do the same for others!”

Another Broadway Veteran, Tina Fabrique (add Noise/Funk, Ragtime) will portray the role of Neighborhood Nana, while Richard Crandle will portray the role of Justice Jamal Obata (Kinky Boots and Hairspray Nat. Tour), along with Kimberly JaJuan as Aneeda Ancestry (Ragtime, Marie Christine), Matthew Morgan (Lion King, Hairspray).

With a 21st Century twist, "Preachin’ to the Choir/An Inconvenient Truth", a new play written by Veteran Broadway Actor and Playwright, Stanley Wayne Mathis is presenting a Virtual Reading of his new play, on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 6:30pm/EST: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/preachin-to-the-choiran-inconvenient-truth-tickets-165071359881.

This spring and summer will see Gordon debuting a new anthology web series, “Pilot Season,” bringing five completely different stories to life, with a comedic tone she describes as somewhere between “Gilmore Girls” and “Better Things.” Meanwhile, she’s also preparing for a series of sold-out, socially distanced cabaret performances, after spending the past year perfecting her act in quarantine via a series of Twitch performances called “Live on Sunday.”

Gordon grew up and attended Beverly Hills High School and graduated magna cum laude from USC before winning acclaim as a short filmmaker and continuing her lifelong passion for stage performance. It’s no surprise she turned to the performing arts, as her great-uncle Dr. Ernst Katz was founder and conductor of the legendary Los Angeles Junior Philharmonic, and her grandfather was television comedy writer Al Gordon, whose award-winning career spanned everything from “The Jack Benny Program” to “Three’s Company.” When you grow up with Army Archerd as a family friend and getting performance advice from the likes of Florence Henderson, like Gordon has, you develop a deep appreciation for the professional side of the business – and you also have a lot of great stories to share.

Victoria Gordon is a vibrant bridge between the rapidly-fading show business past and the new era of digital native creators, finding a way to connect that legacy and tradition to the new technologies and platforms and a new generation of audiences. Whether she’s behind the camera or with microphone in hand, there’s no denying she’s got what it takes to entertain. It’s in her blood. https://www.thevictoriagordon.com/

She also appeared on “The Gong Show” where she came in second place, as well as a number of TV commercials.

In addition to her extensive list of accolades as a singer/actress, Van’s involvement in the entertainment industry spans to the business side, where she worked for Jonathan Dolgen, then President of the Fox Studios, as well as Renny Harlin, who directed “Nightmare on Elm Street”.

In the fall of 1998, Van graced JET magazine as the September centerfold. Though, she feels her biggest accomplishments were when she became a member of the highly talented music spinoff, “The Platters.' Van returned to her music roots in 2008 when she and Kantor formed Smooch Music, Inc.
Van and Larry worked for years with Shawn Rivera of La Face Records’ “Az Yet”, on recording Maya Angelou’s last project before her passing titled “Caged Bird Songs”, an album of her spoken word performances over hip-hop beats, and R&B and gospel tracks. The album was produced by RoccStar (Chris Brown, Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Lopez) and Rivera. Van has co-writing credits on most of the album. The single from that album, “Harlem Hopscotch”, yielded a music video directed and produced by Emmy Award winning Napoleon and Tabitha Dumo of NappyTabs, who have handled choreography choirs for “So You Think You Can Dance”, “Dancing With The Stars” and many music videos. The “Harlem Hopscotch” Video was produced with the help and production support of OWN Digital.
