Now Dr Tim isn't your average vet he's also an avid outdoorsman who has competed in the Iditarod dog sledding competition. That combined with his experience as a veterinarian gives him a ton of expertise when it comes to diet and nutrition for your hunting partner.

The ducks are getting more and more wary this time of year and it's getting harder to kill them.
That's why you gotta be smarter and not work harder.
You have to read the ducks and adjust your spreads this time of year, sometimes more than once per hunt.
Rule of thumb: Don't be discouraged. Trust your gut and your instincts.

I had the pleasure of spending some time with Beau Davis on another episode of the "Knee Deep in the Duck Blind".
We got to chat about Beau's favorite decoys and how important it is to have not only the right type of decoy but to make sure they're all exactly the same.
If you're like me, you probably have acquired a number of decoys over the years. I personally have a hodge-podge of them laying around.
This shed some new light for me and I can tell you that I'll be up-ing my game a bit in the decoy department.

I'm sure this will spark some debate but that's why we're here.
I had the pleasure of interview "Captain Pete" who has had the pleasure the last few days of shooting 18 different species of ducks.
That's pretty cool and presents a very unique opportunity because of where he lives, guides and hunts.
His environment is challenging in itself because he hunts the coastal line out in the middle of the ocean.
You're dealing with swells that rock your boat, tides, current, virtually zero cover, no duck calls and unpredictable weather, all while trying to hit a very smart, very small target that is also moving.
It's a kind of challenge we as hunters live for. The way Captain Pete describes it makes me want to try it and because it's something I've never done.
It might just be the most challenging way to duck hunt...

I had the honor of connecting with Daniel Mancine out of Oregon the other day.
This dude is sharp and as a military veteran you can tell he's very disciplined in the way he hunts. He really plans his strategy and gets after the ducks.
I certainly value and appreciate any opportunity I get to speak with a veteran. It's a respect thing.
And he's going out of his way to inspire our youth, the next generation of hunters. That takes a tremendous amount of time and I'm thankful to have met Daniel. We'll be working together in the future on a number of things together.

Now I gotta tell ya, I learn something from every interview but today I heard a new term dubbed "Pressure Management". This is Roland's secret to hunting success as a guide and getting his clients consistently on ducks. I''ve personally never heard it called that but it's an excellent point.
You have to pay attention to how the ducks are behaving in your area and be very aware of your surroundings. This will help you determine the amount of pressure the ducks are getting and thus enable you to mirror and adapt to how the ducks are behaving and change your hunting strategy accordingly.
This is even more important as a hunting guide because of the added pressure to get clients on ducks, so pay close attention at 6 mins, 8 seconds into the video...
