Are you ready to build true wealth for your family? Ready to put your money to work for you so that you can live life exactly as you've always wanted? Each week, join Annie Dickerson and Julie Lam – busy moms, passive investors, and creators of Goodegg Investments – as they interview guests who are investing to build a legacy for their families, to create a meaningful and intentional life by design, and to impact the world around them. If you want to stop trading your time for money and focus on what really matters in life, this is the podcast for you.
Rethinking Your Goals
[00:08:50] “But I've realized that if I'm willing to ask, the worst that could happen is someone could say no and that's okay. A low-risk experiment is maybe I'm out a little bit of money, a little bit of time, maybe my ego’s hurt a little bit, but if it works it could be incredible. And I've just been amazed, as I've asked, doors have opened.”
[00:30:31] “Figure out what are your goals and what do you actually need, and as you start that process, you will learn. You will learn a lot and I think if people have a million dollars to invest, don't put it in one deal. Do a little research and maybe put 50K in a few different deals just to start and to see how it goes, and you're going to learn a ton.”
[00:45:52] “I think that's really what creates the change because, then what happens is you actually show up as that person. You show up a certain way. The universe, the world, everything is like “oh this is who this person is”. This is how Elon Musk, this is how all these achievers do these amazing things. Because they just simply created it and they lived out of that.”

Values-Aligned Work
[00:11:25] “Our work is so deeply therapeutic in real estate sales and helping people transition between different parts of their lives, a lot of times people are moving from one identity to another identity. It could be a divorce, it could be the loss of a parent, it could be a job change, but there's a lot of roiling transition in their lives and I think that understanding or being able to empathize with that moment in their lives and being able to sort of care for it is a big part of it.”
[00:39:42] “I just have to reinvest in my values right now. And that is how our team operates. There's so many values that I could go into, but what I'm learning, because as you grow and scale, you can start to lose your core value structure. And the last few months I've been like let's get back to who we are as people and what started this whole thing.”
[00:49:01] “I want my business, our business, to reflect the value that we feel, which is that we care for one another. We care for these clients and we put their interests above anything that's financial.”

Connecting Mind and Body
[00:12:20] “So often we’ll have a breakdown that happens in our life or we'll have an injury, or we'll have something that comes along, pain that comes along and interrupts the life we're living. And it's one of our most frustrating experiences as human beings, like, oh, I wish I could get rid of this or fix this or this hadn't happened. And yet often it's those really challenging moments that create a lot of disruption that bring us into new places.”
[00:16:08] “Even just first being introduced to the idea that they're not separate, that our body is not separate from our emotions, is not separate from our mind, is not separate from our identity and our personality, from our habitual behaviors, from our lived experiences, our traumas and our triumphs, none of it is separate. And the body is the place where all of these things meet.”
[00:58:15] “If it doesn't feel a little scary, no change is going to come from it. If I'm actually growing, I'm expanding, I'm stepping into more. I've got to feel all those feelings. So it's not that the discomfort goes away, but we start to have a different relationship with it. We're like, okay, and I can breathe with it and I can keep going through it.”

Transforming Your Financial Journey
[00:09:01] “That was when I realized, wow, I have just been following someone else's recipe for success and it does not feel like that for me. I did what I suspect a lot of people would do once they figure out that they are in a massive amount of debt. I googled how to get out of debt and how to get out of debt fast.”
[00:16:16] “And so one day a week on my screenless Sunday, I don't have to impress anybody. I don't have to do anything to try to convince people of who I am or how I'm valued. And I just be, and that one habit that I have implemented for the last couple of years now has done such wonders for both my mental health and my wealth building journey. Because I started to see, oh, actually there's a lot of things that I can do that brings me peace and actually makes me feel like a valuable person that doesn't rely on external validation.”
[00:39:23] “I've had hundreds of people to test this [CRUSH] framework on over the last eight years. The acronym stands for Curate your accounts, which is C. Reverse into independence, Understand your net worth, Spend intentionally, and then H is heal your money wounds. The book is structured where there's five habits that you can try per step in the framework.”

The Path to Authenticity
[00:26:18] “And then the next eight hours we had to spend on that horse was going through the canyons, so hundreds of feet up. It was terrifying. And that's where I learned I have to trust the horse. I don't know what I'm doing, but the horse does, and I don't want to fall, and neither does this horse.”
[00:29:30] “It's changing how we communicate. It's changing how we relate. It's changing everything. From the moments where we think the horse is stubborn or it doesn't like us because it's not working with us. Maybe that's true, maybe it's not. But if that's what we're perceiving…it's changing everything. So, when we start to question those patterns and where we have learned these things, everything seems different. Even though the horse didn't change, nothing really changed externally, everything changed internally.”
[00:52:33] “As a kid, all of your growth happens through play. You're on the playground. There's no anxiety to it. There's no agenda. You're just playing for the sake of playing. But at some point, life, obligations kick in, the responsibilities, the expectations, and you leave the playground, and you enter a battleground or proving ground. And that was like, wow, yes. Let's get back to the playground where it doesn't matter whether the hoof comes up or not. I'm having fun with this nonetheless.”

Harnessing Inner Balance
[00:28:07] “That's a big part of this process…to have courage to undo old beliefs or realize where you've abandoned yourself also requires building a new relationship with yourself where you can trust yourself to step into what is more true, what is more you and you.”
[00:36:59] “The feminine's biggest wound is that she'll be too much, too emotional, too sensitive, too soft. The masculine's biggest wound is that they won't be enough. I won't have enough to succeed. I won't have enough power, enough of this. And so the healthy version of that is really bringing union to the inner masculine, inner feminine, so that we can show up more whole.”
[01:10:30] “Because we're designed to live life in a way that is both challenging and causes us to evolve and grow, and also brings a lot of joy. And when we snap into alignment, we positively impact the whole ecosystem.”

Raising Your Frequency Resonance
[00:17:05] “Then the truck will come by and smack you fully where it kind of looks more like a crisis…so for some of us, it's a health crisis. For some of us, it's a relationship crisis. For some of us, it's a death. For some of us, it's a money crisis…a lot of people have to get to the point sometimes for the crisis to happen to begin in that journey of that exploration of that internal.”
[00:29:15] “And the thing is, about frequency work, is that a lot of people in our culture have this thing with spiritual awakening, especially with gurus. It's like, I am broken. I need to be saved. I need to be awakened, and I can't do it. So you're going to do it for me because I can't. Okay? That's totally BS and it's completely disempowering. You have free will. You are in charge of your own journey. No one else can do it for you.”
[00:46:55] “Everything in your life, everything comes down to how high your frequency resonance is. Everything, including your thoughts, your emotions, what your body looks like, who's around you, who you get to collaborate with, how much abundance you have. The higher you vibrate, the more clearly you can manifest.”

Leveraging the Power of Syndications
[00:02:20] "I remember when I realized that I was the kind of person that could invest in syndications. It was as if a huge weight was taken off my shoulders because I had found real estate investing as sort of an idea of how can I put some hustle energy in some sweat equity…to be able to fast track and build up my retirement that I've essentially neglected for a decade as a 20-something-year-old who wasn't saving for retirement."
[00:29:28] “But with this the sponsor group is doing a lot of that research for you…of course, you should do your own due diligence…they're finding those good markets and those good submarkets. And so, I find it really easy to then diversify across not only different markets but also different asset classes. And so, my portfolio as a whole is a lot more balanced than when I'm doing it on my own.”
[00:41:13] “Think of two big misconceptions here. And the first is that you have to be an expert to do this…and that's just not true anymore at all. You can actually educate yourself on this really quickly. And the second is that it's only for wealthy people. There are what's called accredited and non-accredited statuses that we all fall into, and they're essentially wealth thresholds. And there's many loopholes to define these two.”

Creating Wealth in Real Estate Investing
[00:18:33] I wouldn't even know that this is possible unless I saw somebody else doing it, and for me it started when I was playing Monopoly as a kid…this is the life lesson. You start with land, you build houses, collect rent and then you go to hotels and you just keep getting there and it was fun. The first syndication I actually invested in was with you, Annie, in the hotels…so I got to play Monopoly in real life.
[00:25:51] I want to make sure I'm making money every single month, a way to have value add, like forced appreciation…all these things are in my mind as I'm going through any specific deal—could be multifamily, could be a single-family home.
[00:43:06] I need to serve people and move on. It's hard for me to really drive it home that this is literally the only way that I make money anymore. It’s the only thing I want to do in any business, because I make other people's lives better and I make my life better from it too.

The Life & Money Show Financial Wellness Blueprint
Define what financial wellness means to you.
Figure out the big rocks in your way.
Get familiar with your money.
Create short-term and long-term goals.
Give yourself permission to do something with your money that feels good.
Holistic Approach to Financial Wellness
[00:09:50] Wellness is really that relationship between you and your money and how you feel about it and how it impacts your life, because I know times in my life when I had very little in the bank account, but I felt really good about my money and where I was at and where I was going.
[00:20:52] There's billionaires who never feel like they have enough. And so to be able to define what is enough for you and start to think about how the world is abundant around us instead of scarce, again, that's not just looking at the problems, it's looking at the solutions and other opportunities around us.
[00:28:04] Because your vision of financial wellness today might be different from what it was back in your 20s, or what it will be 10 years from now, 20 years from now. So, it's good to continually reflect on what financial wellness might be.

Integrating Intellect and Intuition
[00:13:51] I really believe the things that come into our life, you could look at it like your life movie, are there to help provoke you to grow, to change, to shift, maybe to bring something forward that you need to see, that you wouldn't otherwise experience if you didn't let yourself just be in it.
[00:19:41] We all have these unique gifts and soul missions and soul purposes that are embedded in us, and I really, truly believe one of the biggest things that we're supposed to do while we're here is to go find it and to live into it.
[00:38:53] And so now I do make sure to find at least one to two minutes where I can just check in with myself. Sometimes it's one sip of coffee in the morning just to anchor myself and…say I'm here, my feet are on the ground because we're operating from a place of disembodiment all the time, we don't even realize it.

Creating a Meaningful Business
[00:18:35] I do believe that it starts with that intention, like I mentioned the five years prior of knowing this is my path, but releasing the how of getting there.”
[00:34:01] I had to figure out and think about how am I defining my worth, and how am I making money? What are my streams of income? How am I managing my money after I get it and ensuring that I'm articulating my value to clients?
[00:43:05] I have a high yield savings account that I put all of my money for taxes for our best friends at the IRS into, and then allow that to make extra money while it's sitting in there. And it has been the best thing for me and my business.

Three Key Actions for Financial Freedom:
Clarify Your Vision: Define what financial freedom and a life by design mean to you.
Daily Check-In: Ask yourself if you're closer to your vision today than you were yesterday.
One Action a Day: Identify one thing you can do each day to move closer to your vision.
The Art of Simplifying
[00:02:48] We're all conditioned to add more, to build bigger as a business owner, to scale faster, to add more team members. But sometimes the solution actually lies in subtracting and taking things away.
[00:28:09] Start keeping a stop doing list and just start putting some things on there that you know you don't want to do anymore. Maybe you don't know how to stop doing them yet, but you can start strategizing about how to get them off your list.
[00:38:09] Nobody goes from zero to financial freedom like that. Everybody does it step by step by step. And the more that you do it, the bigger those steps will get, that you'll be able to make bigger strides faster because you'll have that momentum behind you.

Three-Part Exercise for Managing Financial Anxiety
Fears: List all your fears related to a financial decision.
Opportunities: Write down all the positive possibilities that could result from the decision.
Strengths: List your strengths and why you are capable of making this decision.
Building Confidence in Financial Decisions
[00:20:54] But the information is out there. And so in many ways, the power has shifted. It's no longer with that one person who holds all the power and the wisdom, but it's in your own fingertips, and it's really about you taking the time to go and find the information.
[00:26:24] This transition, this wave will start to bring money into the light a little bit more, rather than in the dark corners where it's been for so many generations, but bringing it out into the open a little bit more…makes it not so scary of a topic. And it also makes us all feel a little bit less alone in the money worries and the money stresses that we may be experiencing.
[00:30:51] Because a big part of making your investment, your first investment—yeah, it's about the money—but really it's about investing in you, yourself, your own possibilities, your own skill set, your own knowledge, your own wisdom.

Advice for Aspiring Investors
Seek out a community that provides support, shared knowledge, and confidence to help you navigate real estate investing.
Take the time to understand each investment and ensure it aligns with your financial goals and risk tolerance.
Remember real estate investing is a long-term journey with a goal of achieving financial independence and living life on your own terms.
Share your knowledge with your family and friends, reminding them they don’t have to follow the conventional path.
Navigating Real Estate Investing
[00:22:37] If you want to be an effective real estate investor in passive syndications, you need a community... so you have other people you can talk to, share information with. And that's really the core of real estate investing for me.
[00:35:28] You really need to do your own due diligence. You need to check and make sure you're comfortable. You can't invest based on someone else's recommendations, but the community is there to help you make that decision.
[00:40:13] I want to encourage the kids to enjoy themselves along the way, not to save it all for old age and retirement. Enjoy the journey while continually trying to grow your wealth to support that journey.

Mindset and Long-term Impact
A positive mindset is crucial for overcoming challenges and achieving long-term success.
Keep moving forward even when feeling afraid. One more phone call could lead to the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
Make a conscious effort to integrate healthy habits now so you don’t have to pay for it later.
Investing in the next generation through mentorship and education can create lasting positive change.
Embracing Fear and Positive Habits
[00:19:25] There's no time when I was like, oh, I got this. I'm not scared. I was scared all the time. But I was more scared of being stuck or going back in my life based on where I'd already brought myself to.
[00:38:08] To have a good life, you need to have good health, and people spend their health getting their wealth, and they spend their wealth buying back their health. So we're trying to stop that right now.
[00:42:29] "Your mindset is your best friend or it's your worst enemy. If you let it take over, you won't do anything because your mindset won't let you. And if you just retrain yourself... it took about two years to retrain my brain. Every time a negative thought came in, I replaced it with a positive thought."

Career Trajectory and Personal Goals
Early career guidance from mentors can significantly shape professional growth and approach to challenges.
Asking direct, ambitious questions can set a strong foundation for career advancement.
Understanding financial tools is key to creating generational wealth and having a broader community impact.
Continuously striving for work-life balance is vital for personal well-being and professional satisfaction.
Navigating Finance and Freedom
[00:04:23] I wasn't afraid to meet things head on. I wasn't afraid to be in a difficult position, and I wasn't afraid to voice my opinion. But I learned how to listen and how to navigate the conversation so I was able to be heard amongst my peers or people who were just in higher level positions than I was.
[00:20:54] I'm not thinking about what ceiling I'm going to hit. I'm thinking about how I can free myself and free those around me and spread this to other people because financial literacy is so important…it truly changes people's lives in generations to come, and it can be used for good and for impacting our communities around us.
[00:39:28] I'm really learning how to prioritize myself and really kind of take the time to rest, not feel like I have to constantly be on and solve every problem, to serve everyone all the time.

Roots and Rewards of Starting Your Own Side Project
You must have clarity of purpose to face the inevitable challenges of side hustling.
The opportunity to learn new skills and turn them into side hustles is more accessible than ever.
Surrounding yourself with a network of peers can accelerate learning and open doors to monetization opportunities.
Determination, adaptability, and resilience play a significant role in the pursuit of a rewarding side venture.
The Essence of Successful Side Ventures
[00:02:18] If a tree didn't have strong roots in the ground and the wind swayed, the tree would fall over. The why is your root into the ground, to make sure that you know why you're doing this, so whatever wind comes, whatever storm comes, you can hold true to that.
[00:08:13] It makes such a big difference when you have to do something versus when you choose to do something, because none of us wants to be faced with that decision of having to create this side hustle when you have to do it.
[00:31:27] Something happens when you step outside of this box, of your W-2 job, and what society has told you is the thing, the path. And something happens. It's just like a little crack in your brain opens up and you're like wait a second, if I can make money doing this, what else can I do?

ABOUT BRIAN CURCIO
Brian Curcio is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Rapunzl and a passionate supporter of anything related to financial education. At a young age, he was fortunate to receive broad exposure to entrepreneurship and the stock market through his family. That’s why, during his senior year at Amherst College, together with his high school friend, Myles Gage, they developed Rapunzl and designed an app that could solve the three roadblocks that prohibit many from understanding the stock market: fear, exposure, and accessibility.
Brian believes that people need game-based learning tools which simulate the real world and contexualize their learning if they are ever to learn how to properly invest. Rapunzl provides an incentive to learn, a place to share findings, and a risk-free community to make mistakes along the way.

ABOUT DAVE FOSTER
Dave Foster is a true veteran in the real estate investment world. He first ventured into real estate investing as a way of chucking his 9 to 5 job and allowing himself the freedom to travel and live his life without corporate obligations. Passive real estate income has allowed him to explore and adventure, without the need for full-time, hands-on management. Though he made a decent profit, he was frustrated by government taxing and only retaining limited gain. However, through using 1031 exchange or through moving into his real estate investments, he was able to maximize profits and build his real estate empire across four sites without paying a penny in capital gains tax.

ABOUT ANDREW LUONG
Andrew Luong, CEO and co-founder of Doorvest, loves real estate. Growing up in a lower-middle-class family, he decided early on that real estate would be his path to financial security. So he started buying and fixing up single-family homes in his spare time. While he honed his skills as an entrepreneur in various start-ups, his portfolio grew into the double digits. He had honed his skills as a real estate investor as well. It dawned on Andrew and his co-founder, Justin, that the long laundry list of items that comes with purchasing a property could be deconstructed and rebuilt into a frictionless process to bring real estate investing to everyone. And so Doorvest was launched to provide a turnkey real estate investment service online.

ABOUT BILLY DHA KIDD
Billy Dha Kidd is better known for his rapping than his real estate skills, but both careers are worth celebrating. Billy’s early life was anything but comfortable — growing up in El Salvador, he was used to no running water and no electricity. He likes to say that he didn’t start at zero but started at negative one-hundred. Billy’s family immigrated to the United States when he was 10 years old, moving first to California and then later to Nebraska. As a teenager, Billy began rapping as a way for him to express himself but found he loved the craft. Rapping allowed Billy to fill his time with something positive, instead of taking the wrong path many of his friends were on. His rap taught him sales skills, business skills, how taxes work, and most importantly, how to make money. Reading stories of generational wealth, Billy was compelled to start investing in real estate. He got his first deal, learned a lot about the BRRRR strategy, and continued to put his knowledge to work. Now, he’s sitting on twenty-two doors between eighteen different properties. He gives credit to simply taking responsibility for his outcomes, instead of blaming others or the system around him.

Edna is the founder of the 90 Days to 5K Mastermind, a training, educational, and membership organization for real estate investors. Since 2007, she has built her own real estate portfolio of over 600 doors with a value of $70 million. All except the first two properties were bought with the help of Joint Venture Partners.
She and her husband Warren own 14 doors personally and the rest with joint venture partners. Most of these partners are passive investors looking for a great rate of return without being actively involved in generating it. Now, she’s a real estate investment coach. She teaches others investing in real estate how to do it so they receive passive income, allowing them to live the life they want and retire when they want.
The 90 Days to 5K Mastermind is a training, education, and membership organization for real estate investors that she has developed. It is based on her experience, knowledge, and education. Investing in personal development is what she got to where she is today.
When she was 16, she had a child and dropped out of high school. She later completed her high school education and worked a series of waitressing and secretarial jobs as a single mother. But she dedicated herself to learning and doing what she needed to do to improve her life. She has bought and read thousands of books on attitude, goal setting, and living with passion. She has attended numerous seminars and listened to countless audio programs. She learned as much as she could about business.

GUEST BIO
J. Massey is the CEO and Founder of Cashflow Diary, a training and development brand for building short-term rental entrepreneurs. Before Cashflow Diary, J. raised capital and invested in traditional real estate (single-family homes, note brokering and holding, cell phone towers, commercial real estate, and apartment buildings). Eventually, he built his real estate investing training program to share what he learns continuously through his years of successful, real-world experience owning hundreds of traditional long-term housing units. When one of his students asked him what he knew about the world of short-term rentals, the answer was not very much.
Once J. started learning about short-term rental strategies, he saw a world of opportunity in front of him. He built his very own 34-unit(46 bedrooms)-- -and-counting short-term rental business from scratch — which he still owns, grows, and operates — and has shifted his Cashflow Diary brand to focus exclusively on building and training short-term rental entrepreneurs. Now he’s built a community of thousands of like-minded people from 16 countries that he learns from every day and shares his knowledge through his Cashflow Diary podcast, YouTube channel, Facebook groups, and annual Short-Term Rental Summit training events.

Today’s guest has a career in real estate which began, as most do, with a focus on single family homes. But it wasn’t long after when he discovered incredible potential in an altogether different type of investment: parking garages and lots. He struck gold, being able to structure deals in such a way that operators can guarantee a monthly or annual income on each investment.
Sam Wilson is the Founder and CEO at Parking Your Investments, a company which invests in “parking garages and parking lots nationwide.” Listen in as Sam sheds light on how this often overlooked asset class can potentially become an exceptionally stable source of cash flow by answering such questions as what “demand generators” to look for in a parking asset, how to structure an acquisition deal with the asset’s owners, the importance of buying for cash flow as opposed to appreciation, the top three risks involved with investing in parking assets, and how to scale and syndicate deals.

“I am here to be financially free and to bring others along with me.” Today’s guest abides by this mantra, and for good reason: It’s her goal to help 1 million women live life on their own terms.
She believes that the key to succeeding as a real estate investor is to ally yourself with 1) those who are on the same path as you, and 2) those who have already walked the path and seek to pay it forward.
Monick Halm is the founder of Real Estate Investor Goddessesand a “recovered attorney.” Monick was raised to adopt the traditional mindset that getting a good degree and a job with a “steady” paycheck is the only way to go about life. Somewhere along the line, a grave medical emergency forced Monick to take a break from work (and pay) for 30 days.
During that time, she considered alternative options, finally settling on real estate. After ten years of building her portfolio, Monick decided that it was time to help other women like herself succeed in this oftentimes intimidating industry. Discover what drives her today, and why she believes that anyone who dreams of freedom can thrive as a real estate investor!

“Never value yourself by your net worth. You’re simply a steward of the money you earn during your lifetime.” A million dollars a year, or even a month, in cash flow means nothing if you don’t know what you’re making that money for. Today’s guest reached financial freedom at a relatively young age, and says that he did it all out of love for his familyand a desire to inspire and mentor others.
Michael Quan blogs at FinanciallyAlert.com. Growing up in a middle-class Asian-American family, he decided that he would never suffer from a lackof time and money. Beyond that, he had a dream to live a life of abundance.
A former IT professional, Michael decided he needed to become his own boss and look for a more stable, long-term solution for his finances, especially after a series of layoffs all around him following 9/11. Michael retired at the ripe old age of 36 and today, he enjoys the majority of his days as a stay-at-home dad. Not that he doesn’t work anymore. He still does—just on his own terms.

“Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” This famous Mike Tyson quote was echoed by today’s guest, and fittingly so. The world of real estate investing can seem pretty unpredictable.
Without a WHYanchoring your every move, you will be buffeted by the winds of an ever-shifting market and lose track of why you even made the bold move to become an investor in the first place. But nothing good ever comes easy. The most successful individuals in the field are the ones who persisted with an enduring sense of purpose.
Todd Dexheimer is the CEO of Venture D Propertiesand the host of the podcast Pillars of Wealth Creation. Todd started out as a high school teacher, but once he realized that wasn't the best fit for him long-term, he wasted no time accumulating real estate assets, visiting around 20 properties a day and buying a new property almost every week.
At one point, he had acquired over 100 houses and could have easily retired from the cash flow they collectively produced. Instead, Todd decided that he wanted to pay it forward and make an impact on others. To that end, he established Venture D Properties, as well as the Pillars of Wealth Creationpodcast, in order to help other aspiring and established real estate investors thrive in their careers.

But to get to this point, it’s important to focus on the basics and not get caught up in all the different complexities that the real estate world may present.
Master Passive Income founder Dustin Heiner shares his journey as a real estate investor, which involved him quitting his job after a few years and living off the residual income from his growing business.
Following financial freedom, a large number of friends and family started to seek advice from Dustin on how they could replicate his success. This led to the founding of Master Passive Income and Dustin’s new career as a coach for real estate investors.

Warren Buffet famously said, “Be greedy when other people are fearful.” More often than not, the greatest opportunities in the stock market take place during the lowest points in the economy. In fact, some of the biggest fortunes have been made during the Great Recession.
In this episode, we talk to Minafi blogger Adam Fortuna talks to us about how millennials can invest their way to financial freedom, having retired at the age of 36 himself. He gives us his best practices around how to invest in the stock market depending on your individual financial circumstances and goals.
Adam goes into the different types of stocks, and the best way to approach the market as a beginner. Adam also touches on the FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) movement, which he describes as, “Building your wealth to a point where it can support your lifestyle going forward.”

Wealth creation starts with optimizing your mindset towards the tool we call “money.” Have your money work for you as hard as it possibly can. Don’t be afraid of money. Put it to work.
A big mistake that business owners or investors make is “staying safe” when it comes to their finances. While maintaining caution over your budget is absolutely necessary, actually scaling your operation or portfolio requires you to reinvest as quickly and as creatively as you can on a consistent basis.
Yarusi Holdings co-owner Pili Yarusi talks to us about investing in real estate together with her husband, Jason. She shares her experience transitioning from small, local flips to out-of-state multifamily properties.
Pili was able to make this transition efficiently and effectively by focusing on finding creative ways to create refinance opportunities. She states that “each building is a business.” Throughout our discussion, Pili gives us the practical considerations that she and Jason always keep in mind as they continue to expand their real estate empire.

When we think about wealth creation and money management, meditation isn’t usually part of our thought process. But if we want to nurture our money mindfulness, it’s vital to learn how to eliminate ego and stress and become aware of the opportunities around us. The key is in understanding that our inner disposition determines our exterior environment.
WealthClinic founder Leisa Peterson teaches us how to integrate our whole self into our relationship with money in eight simple steps. She shares her transition from corporate manager to mortgage banker and underwriter to financial advisor. Her mission today? To help people develop a healthy relationship with money.
Equating our level of income with our self-worth is one of the most destructive things we can do. Leisa helps us understand that money is simply a resource—a mere tool that can potentially bring us a step closer to a life of freedom.

In this episode, we sit down with Liz Faircloth who, together with her husband Matt, founded the DeRosa Group to transform lives through real estate. In addition, Liz has built and nurtured a thriving community of women in real estate through her podcast, The Real EstateInvestHer.
Listen in as Liz takes us through her journey, beginning with graduate school, where she received a Master of Social Work and also developed an interest in business. After writing her first business plan, she realized that her dream of helping large groups of people could go beyond counseling.
What truly opened Liz’s eyes to the world of real estate was Robert Kiyosaki’s book Rich Dad, Poor Dad. From there, she, along with her then-boyfriend Matt, began spending their time playing the Cashflowboard game and attending numerous real estate seminars. Sometime later, they invested in their first property – a duplex – and the rest is history.
