Increasingly we have come to see how important mental health is to the quality of our lives, and how workplaces can impact our mental health. Covid has shown us some strong lessons in this space. Given that we spend a large proportion of our waking time working, the capacity of a workplace to significantly impact our mental status is substantial (positively and negatively).
With 1/5 Aussies experiencing a mental health condition, and 3/4 saying that mental health is an important consideration when applying for a job - workplaces need to take stock of the mental health status of their workforce - and this needs to be done soon to control MH injury costs and attract and retain the best talent.
But - where does one start? How does one really go about it, exactly what things need to change, or be put in place? What are the true costs and benefits to implementing a Mentally Healthy Workplace Program (MHWP)?
I am bringing together a cross section of experts to talk about this very important topic, and will post a series of interviews over the next 5 weeks - stay tuned if you want gain the experts insights about how you can transform your workplace if you are struggling.
Lets be the change....
