For Abby, her activation was abrupt and unexpected, it took her away from a life as a successful executive in the business world, and placed her onto a deep and unknown path. Guided by unseen teachers, Abby was transformed by an experiential journey in which she learned that the worlds within and about her were interrelated and interconnected, and that there was a specific purpose and functional order to that connection. This connection is designed to ensure that she and all sentient beings can succeed in achieving fullest potentiality of life.
Now, Abby has emerged from her journey of 12 years, and now, as a life transformative guide, she is helping others find their nobility and way, so they too can embrace destiny and manifest their own mission in life.

Leslie Patten is the author of a new and very thought provoking book entitled “The Wild Excellence: Notes from Untamed America”. She has also written several eBooks on gardening, and for six years, an online blogging journal on wildlife issues from her home in the Absaroka Mountains adjacent to Yellowstone National Park. Leslie has worked with land her entire life, and still practices as a professional landscape designer in Marin County, California. She has a degree in horticulture, as well as two years of formal naturalist training. Since moving to Wyoming in 2005, Leslie has worked with wolf, elk, and grizzly bear studies, and the Gloria Climate Change Project, in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. She volunteers at the Buffalo Bill Museum of the West preparing museum quality specimens of birds and mammals. Leslie enjoys hiking with her dog Koda, and exploring the Greater Yellowstone Area.

This (16 min) Interview with Shahla Ettefagh, a woman who is an inspiration for us all, demonstrating what one person can do for many when life purpose becomes clear.
Shahla Ettefagh has committed her life to assisting underprivileged children in India. She holds a Master's degree in Architecture, Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Child Psychology. In 1984, Shahla started a successful commercial interior art design firm, as well as an adult community art school in San Francisco, California.
Some years later, while visiting India as a tourist, Shahla was so deeply moved by children living in abject poverty, that she vowed to return permanently to help them. So, in 2002, Shahla closed her businesses in San Francisco, sold her home and most of her belongings to fund what has now become Mother Miracle, and moved permanently to India.
What started as a program for 9 children in a rented apartment, has flourished into a full-blown free educational institute located in Rishikesh in northern India. Today several hundred underprivileged but gifted children attend primary school, and have additional opportunities to study art, music, karate and yoga. Mother Miracle also offers a growing opportunity for young adults to receive free computer training, and for women to learn valuable crafts and vocational skills.
As Shahla says, “Mother Miracle is not just an educational institute but a large loving and nurturing family.” Funding is accessed primarily via individual child sponsorship programs, as well as general donations.

During a difficult time for me when my mother passed away several years ago, I felt much gratitude to Adi Da, for his wisdom teaching about the death process. It was of great help to me in serving her transition. There is one particular passage by Adi Da that I quote for our listeners now. It’s from one of his books entitled “Easy Death”:
To confront death in truth, you must be humbled and confounded. The death of another reminds you that in every moment you are principally confronted not by defined objects that are independent of you, but by an indefinable process that includes you..
Therefore in the face of the death of another, be moved to God. Remain sensitive to your present relationship with the one who has been irrevocably transformed before your eyes. Let the grosser parts return to the dimension of original elements, but remain free and Happy, allowing that one to be a blissful sacrifice into the Great Mystery that also obliges you ...
Surrender into Infinity with all your friends. Hold on to no thing and no one, not even yourself. Be certain of no knowledge. Forget all things in present Happiness, and so forgive the universe for all its playful changes. Always love one another, and so forgive one another for appearing, for changing, and for passing out of present sight. So be it....
I’ve often passed this quote on to folks serving the transition of another, and it has always been appreciated and meaningful to each of them.

With the recent extreme violence at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, CT and other disturbing incidents in schools across the nation, the question, especially if we are parents or teachers is:
How can we make our schools really safe for our children?
The Government and other officials in power always seem to offer solutions that bring more authority and control into the schools, making some of them appear like prisons. This is NOT the answer nor is it the solution altogether. You can keep guns and knives out of the schools with increased security, but you can’t keep out the attitudes, beliefs, and prejudices that cause students to be cruel and mistreat each other. The answer lies in changing the emotional climate of our schools altogether.
How can this change be accomplished?

Doll Stanley is one of IDA’s Regional Directors of Investigations, and has worked with IDA since their founding in 1983. IDA’s Hope Animal Sanctuary has helped to shut down abusive puppy mills, pet shop suppliers, exotic animal hoarders, dog fighting rings, and has rescued many other animals from neglect and suffering in backyards, barns, and pastures.

John Melia is an Attorney with the Animal Legal Defense Fund, a non-profit organization with several ongoing programs dedicated to the legal protection of animals.
These programs are: LITIGATION - filing cutting edge lawsuits to stop abuse of companion animals, and animals abused in industries including factory farming and the entertainment industry, ANIMAL LAW - fostering the field of animal law among legal professionals and in law schools nationwide, CRIMINAL JUSTICE - which works with law enforcement and prosecutors to seek maximum penalties for animal abusers.
