In this episode, I sit down and chat with Jill Timushka. Jill is a CWB Weld Inspector Level 2, B-pressure Welder, Instructor, Trailblazer, Mentor and Executive Board member UA 496. She shares how she became a welder and what she enjoys about being a welder. Jill shares about her experience teaching. I ask Jill about how she involves herself in mentorship.
In this episode, I sit down and chat with Kelly O'Brien and Shane Jones from Durham College. Kelly is the Partnership Manager, School of Hospitality and Horticultural Science and the Gold winner of the 2019 CICan Leadership Excellence Award for Managerial Staff. Shane is a professor and program coordinator of the horticulture programs and the Silver winner of of the 2021 CICan Leadership Excellence Award for Faculty. Both them shared information about their new partnership/project The Barrett Centre of Innovation in Sustainable Urban Agriculture. They share how this project will benefit the students and community.

In this episode, I sit down and speak with John McGrath, Scott Thomson & André S. Léger from St. Lawrence College. André is the Associate dean, School of Contemporary Teaching & Learning and John and Scott are two Trades Professors. We discuss the School of Contemporary Teaching & Learning's Contemporary Educator Program (CEP). We learn what an important part both John & Scott played in that program.
In this episode, I sit down with Brandon Carson. He brings a unique perspective as a Learning Technologies Specialist, Professor, eLearning Developer and Researcher. He shares his journey in lifelong learning. Brandon talks to his role as a Learning Technologies Specialist and how he approaches helping/supporting faculty and drawing his personal experience teaching in the classroom.
In episode 21, I sit down and talk to Kyle Chapman. He is a professor in the School of Business, IT & Management at Durham College. He shares his experience and expertise using gamification in his IT courses. We also talk about collaboration and using discord. And yes we both go off on a few tangents. So sit back and enjoy!
In this episode, I sit down and speak with Stephen Forbes from Durham College. Stephen is a professor and program coordinator in the Information technology programs at Durham College. He shares with his passion for teaching and learning. One of things he shares is how he started his teaching career being the tough teacher. After realizing that wasn't who was, he switched back to being his nice self. Discover the lessons he learned from this. Stephen shares some great nuggets when sharing content and using audio recording.
In episode 19, I sit down and speak with the Terry Greene. Terry is a Senior eLearning Designer at Trent University. He is also is a podcaster and two great podcasts Gettin' Air with Terry Greene and Check the O.L. with Anne-Marie Scott. We discuss everything from his journey into education, OER, podcasting to Hip Hop.
In this episode, I sit down with four of my colleagues from Durham College. The episode is entitled "The Reunion" because it's been about 5 years since we all started teaching full time at Durham College. The group included Melissa Taaffe (911 Emergency and Call Centre Communications), Jennifer Labatte (Office Administration - Executive), K. Jennifer Bedford (Photography, and Video Production) and Kyle Chapman (Computer Programmer Analyst). We discuss our time in the College Teaching Certificate program and Focus On Learning. They also share their experiences over the last 14 months.
