With Xavi being announced with the new head coach of Barcelona, it shows another player coming back to manage the club they played for during the career. It also brings up the question of whether he will be successful or not as there seems to be an unpredictable trend. One thing that has been noticed is that managers in these situations that have struggled have had clashes with former teammates that they have now manage. Lampard and Luiz, Arteta and Özil. Will Xavi have the same issue with the likes of Pique and Busquets? Or will he follow the path of Guardiola and Zidane. We discuss what it would take for Xavi to be a success at Barca.
