Today, we talk with Kathy Guerra, a licensed Counselor running for the Parkway School Board.

It seems like the only time we get some accountability is when the school board members are up for election.
It’s easy to want to give up, but being an American citizen demands that we care enough to vote.

The duty to vote and promote good people as candidates is a moral duty and is part of being a Christian citizen.
Our voice, our hands and our mouths are part of being salt and light.
No matter how discouraged you get with the political climate, do not shirk your duty and do not make excuses.

SPECIAL IMPEACHMENT PODCAST: Nancy Pelosi’s American History Lesson For years when I was in the legislature I watched as the Democrats acted like they didn’t understand the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence or the political philosophy of our founding fathers.  So, it comes as a surprise when they start quoting our founding documents as if they have any meaning in their actions. We are either part of the problem or part of the solution.  When someone is wrong, it is important to call him or her out for it.  Otherwise, we become part of the problem. So, this speech from Nancy Pelosi came at the same time my son needed to do a project for a high school class.  Why not do both — inform, educate and create a project where you can hear special affects whenever someone needs to be corrected.    One of the biggest surprises is that Nancy admits that the reason they had to impeach Trump was to keep him from getting reelected.  We don’t often hear this much honesty, but listen for it and be shocked like I was. Despite her efforts to claim she’s somber and humble, she sounds like she just woke up from a long nap or just took a tranquilizer.  I think she has a conscience problem.  If you listen to the tone of her voice, she doesn’t sound like even she is convinced this is the right thing to do.  It’s almost like a speech writer put this in front of her and she’s reading it out of duress. This is designed to be both humorous and insightful, so enjoy!

We demand that public schools stop treating our children like guinea pigs in some social engineering experiment. We demand that schools respect parents’ values and parents’ authority. We will not stand for our tax money being used to promote sexual liberation, deviance, and gender confusion to our precious kids. Today we interview Daniel Lattier, the Vice-President of Intellectual Take Out—Feed Your Mind. Why are conservatives losing? Believe it or not, “freedom” might not be a winning idea. Now, one thing to understand is that most of the conservative think tanks lead with the term “freedom” in their missions and visions. They see freedom as the preeminent founding idea of America and the source of its exceptionalism, and they exist in large part to promote freedom in all its manifestations—the free market, free enterprise, individual freedom, etc. … “freedom” may still be a winning idea, but is the problem that it just needs to be messaged better to the American public? His website, www.intellectualtakeout.org is designed to produce thought-provoking content that is both relevant and concise. It’s mission is to take complex ideas and break them down in a digestible form. Too many times, we turn off our brains and just repeat what we hear on the news without considering how much of it is truth and how much of it is “politically correct spin.” You will learn why some messages have failed to connect to the greatest needs of the voters.

Today on Home Front I bring you a little more of a discussion I had with my friends, Dave Cort and Lloyd Sloan. Instead if me interviewing them, they are interviewing me on Dave Cort’s show. We get into the some deeper discussions on the proposal going around this country pertaining to having a convention of the states. Even though a lot of people are not paying attention to our constitution, most people want to keep it. There is an idea being peddled in the halls of state capitols trying to have the states open up the constitution for debate. I am against this because I have seen plenty of shenanigans happen at the state level. It is ridiculous to think that the state legislators are morally superior to the legislators in Washington DC. Maybe it’s a smaller cesspool, but it’s still a cesspool. I’m not saying that all the politicians are bad people. There are some good ones. It’s just that there are not enough of the good ones to get a good result. The proof for me was in looking at my own state. We have a supermajority of Republicans and they are still passing bad laws every year they are in session. How could we possibly expect a better result if they were in charge of modifying the Constitution? I don’t want to sit on the sidelines while our Constitution is being altered and then hear people say later, “How could we have been so stupid. “ I don’t want to hear people say “I told you so.” By then it will be too late. Let’s just open our eyes and make a proper assessment of what we can do to fix the problems we have by electing better people.

Have you ever wondered about who starts the idea for a new law? Today on Home Front I bring you a discussion I had with political pundits, Dave Cort and Lloyd Sloan. Instead if me interviewing them, they are interviewing me on Dave Cort’s show. You will hear the answer to the question you’ve been wondering about concerning how legislation is cultivated by the lobbyists and the inside story on ALEC . Few people follow or understand how much influence the lobbyists have on legislators, but there is a definite connection. Big corporations wouldn’t be spending millions of dollars if they weren’t getting a return on their money. Recently, there have been several news articles about how bad it is out there. A.L.E.C. stands for the American Legislative Exchange Council. On today’s edition of Home Front I let you in on a little conversation where I unpack for you what is right and what is wrong about the process of lobbyists influencing legislation. Curiously, a big part of the media outrage is because this organization is having an affect on free market legislation, but we don’t hear that it is also happening with left-wing legislation being pushed by other organizations. Ultimately we have to ask, are the legislators merely puppets? Who is in charge of the asylum?

You might think “What can be so interesting about chickens?” It’s not about chickens. This is a show where we talk about how municipalities operate and make decisions. Just like with parenting, any government has the ability to overpower it’s citizens. No one can dispute the power of the sword, especially when the government is bigger and stronger than the indivudual. But does might make right? On this episode we interview Patrick Stovall, the gentleman who is organizing a petition drive to create a law allowing citizens to have chickens. We also hear from Cathryn Davis, an agronomist who comments on her own experience with chickens and her municipality. Our own city provided us with several examples recently of how a governing body can suddenly shift from being friendly to being hostile toward freedom. Our liberties are always vulnerable, but so much more vulnerable when we have a governing body that has fallen into the “group think” syndrome. So on this show today, you will hear a lot about the chicken ordinance, but please listen to the real issue which is our ability to govern ourselves and how bigger government ideology insults the intelligence of the citizens.
