A constant yapper, yaps about everything under and over the sun. I'm still searching for my voice so for now you'll get to hear me ranting about things that interest me such as Art, Stories, Philosophy, and Spirituality. Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/schol/support

Have you heard of Shamanism? It's really interesting to look into if you're a person who likes to think too much. On this episode I go on a small bit about what makes Shamanism so interesting as a potential source of truth about our relationship to the world.

Disclaimer: I speak about drugs on this episode, specifically Marijuana and Hallucinogens.

In this 20 minute rant I go on about why Steele is such a good character in the 90's animated film, Balto. In summary, Steele's immovable ego is the perfect flaw for a dog because a dog so hyped up on their greatness which is fueled by wanting to please his master, would ultimately become an ego like Steele's when his reputation begins to degrade over time. Balto's flaw is not knowing who he is, and Steele's flaw is knowing EXACTLY who he is.

On this episode that almost wasn't, I  briefly go into what I have been up to in the last month being off from work for so long. This is a short episode.

I recently watched the Netflix original series, The Get Down, directed by Baz Luhrmann, a show taking place in the mid-1970s when disco was dying and hip hop was just starting. I quickly became fascinated with the deeper elements of the show and so Chris, a hip hop enthusiast, joins me on this episode to answer my questions regarding the music, the art, and the culture of hip hop. I highly recommend watching both the series and Hip Hop Evolution, a documentary on the history of hip hop which is also available on Netflix.

On this episode I go on a philosophical rant about what's going on in my life, as well as sharing some concepts that are important to me. I have been making decisions that require me to trust in myself so as to attain my goals, however, several fundamental questions must be answered first; such as, who is the one doing the trusting, and who is the one being trusted? I can't trust myself if I don't understand myself, and can't understand myself without knowing myself, but before all of this I must first find myself, and that has been my journey since before and after my mystical experience last year. If you find any of these ideas compelling, or have questions and would like for me to expand or explore these ideas, send me an email at theuncertainscholar@gmail.com.

Take care and enjoy!

Namaste and all that jazz!

In this episode, I briefly introduce myself and talk a bit about my mystical experience (AKA "Spiritual", "Religious", or "Peak") which is my reason for starting the podcast. I also talk a little about what an uncertain scholar is.
