The Way BK is Brooklyn, NY-based podcast dedicated to addressing contemporary concerns with the unique truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Scripture that says Jesus had to be made perfect, that there was a time when something was missing. How did he become perfect? What does his perfecting mean for us?
Romans 12:1-2 lays out an important template for understanding the Christian life — a life completely transformed by the mercies of the Gospel of Christ.
Humility, self-giving, service: these are the qualities of Jesus that made him victorious over sin and death. Those who want to follow him must adopt the same mind and spirit in order to walk his victorious path.

There is quite a lot of cultural discussion of what manhood really is. David\’s last words outlines the fundamentals that should define a man.
2 Samuel 24 encapsulates the entire spectrum of the life of David — sin and weakness, deep faith and love. More importantly than that, this story sums up the Gospel of David\’s descendant and the response of those who wish to reign with him.
What do you do to move on after you face the consequences of your sins? The last days of David give us hope and direction.
We are rightly horrified as we watch David\’s great sin against Bathsheba in 2 Samuel 11. We would do well to pay careful attention to this story so that we can avoid similar falls ourselves.
Of all the glorious characteristics of God\’s nature, none outshines the goodness of his lovingkindness.

Jesus often challenged his followers to examine themselves with one crucial question: Do you understand?
Jesus was rejected for the good he did and those who follow him will face the same treatment. Instead of giving up or attacking those who attacked him, Jesus overcame by persisting in doing good. Those who follow him must do the same.
Mark 5 tells us one of the most important truths anyone could ever know about Jesus: Yes, he cares.
The Gospel of Christ is not a fairy tale, it’s as real and true as the very Bread and Cup that God has given us to commemorate it.
There is no subject matter that is more challenging, fundamental, or necessary than what Jesus taught on forgiveness.
God’s will for marriage and divorce is clear, but we sinful humans have a tendency to complicate straightforward truth. We need to take time and effort to have a clear understanding of what God has said about various questions about divorce and remarriage.

The Scribes and Pharisees opposed Jesus at every turn. He kept doing what was right in his Father’s eyes for the good of the people.
It can be tough out here on the dating scene. God doesn’t exactly give us a manual for dating, but the first chapters of Song of Songs provides us with wisdom to guide our mindset and approach to the pursuit of marriage.
David learned some hard lessons when he brought the Ark to Jerusalem. That doesn’t surprise us though; the presence of God is nothing to be toyed with and must be sought in the way he has prescribed in his word.
Whether by calling fishermen to follow him or reaching out to the leper with a healing touch, Jesus came as the ultimate change agent the world has ever known.
In the book of Hosea we are presented with a shocking, scandalizing, saving vision of the love of God.
Jesus was extremely clear on the matter of divorce. His prohibitive standard compels those who follow him to remain true to their spouses, and it points us to the essence and significance of marriage.
“The Beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ” shows us a king unlike any worldly king who rules over an other-worldly kingdom.
God’s people must do good deeds. In order to do good in a world filled with violence and selfishness, kindness must rule.

Human beings are dead in sin all the way down to the heart. God’s solution is to bring life back out of death, to give a new heart.
A central element to David’s living with a heart after God’s was that he made decisions based upon principle. If we want to please God and “do all his will”, then we need to learn to do the same.
We live in a world of shepherds who fail those who follow them. Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd we’ve been waiting for.
YHWH is a different sort of God. He cares for those that the rest of the world ignores or abuses. He is the God of Justice.
Of all the things in this world we could trust and derive our true self from, Christ is the only one worth turning to.
To think like Jesus in relation to sexuality is a revolutionary choice in this world. But it’s a revolution that is desperately needed.
There was a time when David nearly made one of the biggest mistakes of his life. Fortunately, God sent someone to rescue him. But she wasn’t who anyone probably would have expected. It makes you think: am I seeing the wise, but unlikely, counselors around me?
You really shouldn’t do anything important without getting some perspective and guidance from someone who knows better than you. David understood this principle and made sure that he stayed in constant contact with God so that he would stay true to God’s will.
Trouble is going to come to each of us. The variable that decides the course of our lives is how we handle it. In David’s life we see the good and the bad and he calls on us to learn from him so that we can choose the better path.
No, their love was something that far surpassed mere romance or sexual desire. They were friends.
David’s victory over Goliath isn’t a myth nor is it merely an inspirational story for the little guys of the world. It’s a template for how God and godly people defeat the evils of the world.
David wasn’t exalted because he never made any mistakes nor because of any intrinsic greatness he possessed by any worldly metrics. David embodies the word of the Lord, “He who humbles himself will be exalted.” We would do well to learn the greatness of humility sooner rather than later.
In the Bible story, David, the shepherd-boy-turned-king, is a crucial character in setting the stage for Jesus Christ and faith in his name. There are a number of reasons that David’s story is an unlikely fulcrum. What made him so special to God?
Nothing about the Spirit of Christ lines up with the values of the world. This is arguably most obvious when it comes to the meekness and lowliness of Christ.
God’s goal in the Gospel of Christ? — something way better than you probably would have ever imagined.
Psalm 27 teaches us how to think more rightly about God in prayer, recognizing his greatness and increasing our commitment to him.
“Train up a child in the way he should go. When he is old he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22.6
“Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.” (Hebrews 13.2)
The book of Hebrews exhorts us to be loyal to Jesus over all because Jesus is better than all.
Paul’s letters to Timothy and Titus contain five “trustworthy statements” that not only sum up some of the critical messages of those letters but of the entirety of Christian belief. In the midst of the unreliability of the world, these statements give God’s people something to stand on.
Christians are commanded to gather for worship to encourage one another in their faith (Hebrews 10.19-25). God has designed those worship activities to be effective. The task of saints is to understand and follow the instructions he has given.
Those that believe in the glory of God’s faithfulness must themselves become faithful to him and like him.
“The grace of God has appeared” (Titus 2.11) so that those who receive it can see everything in a brand new light.
Though life can be difficult and seem like a wilderness of trouble, contentment is an essential discipline.
Kindness is unassuming, yet it is core to the life of the person living by the Spirit of God.
The commands that God issues and the experiences he leads his children through are not an act of un-love. His discipline is his love.
It isn’t the mighty and most noble that do the great things of God. It is those that quietly serve sometimes without being noticed or known by anyone but God himself.
Every group of people requires leadership. The trick for God’s people is to lead and be led in the way he prescribes rather than the way the world would suggest.
God wants his saints to operate together as local bodies, not as independent actors in the world. It is essential that God’s people learn how he wants his churches to work together.
God’s election of his people is a key theme in Romans. The truth of this doctrine is a source of real beauty and motivation when properly understood.
Romans 10.9-10 is a crucial passage to teach how to be saved from sin. These verses contain a beautiful promise of the salvation that God promises. But it doesn’t mean what people often say it does.
There are many sufferings in the world and temptations to the flesh for anger. People filled with God’s Spirit keep suffering long like the Lord himself, patiently enduring trials and troubles.
In the book of Romans, Paul speaks passionately about the mission that God gave to him and to all saints. What we learn here should restructure the lives of all who follow Jesus and grants a higher purpose than anything we could find in this world.
Churches gather together for many purposes and activities (or, these days maybe they don’t). Why does God want his people to come together. Psalm 95 shows us the way.
Worldview is what really sets apart the people that follow Jesus. Paul’s preaching in Corinth (recorded in his written reminders to the church in Corinth) was a shockingly new perspective for the people in that time and place. This new worldview still stands in sharp contrast to the world’s ideas today.
But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (1 Tim. 6:11-12,ESV)

There is a unique path to joy offered by Jesus Christ. You don’t have to keep up the endless and empty chase for joy anywhere else.
