Sup Nerds? It has.... been a minute to say the least. I foolishly attempted to avoid discussing COVID, but I now realize that was a mistake. Importantly, I also wanted to return to the show to discuss the senseless murder of George Floyd and countless other black lives. Black. Lives. Matter. I have not done as much as I can as an ally, and I apologize for that. In the future, I aim to be better. I aim to have more diverse voices join the show, and I aim to discuss issues that affect black voices in this community. I want to continue to improve, so if you have feedback please e-mail me at averagedisnerd@gmail.com Enjoy the show. Sup Nerds? The world is kind of.... a mess right now. I’m sure you have all been keeping an eye on the news just as much as I have, and I think we all need a bit of a distraction from it all. To do that, I invited my good friend Joe from Parkscope.net to come on the show. We briefly discuss the current situation with Coronavirus & park closures, but a majority of the show is A discussion about Avengers Campus & the Disney potentially moving towards more virtual queues. Sup Nerds? If you haven’t noticed, Universal Orlando is developing a brand new theme park just down the road from their current resort. Titled Epic Universe, the new park is going to be an innovative addition to the Orlando Theme Park Landscape. While we don’t have many official details yet, I wanted to try to read some tea leaves to look into the future of the park.
To do that, I thought of one person. She gets some of the best scoops in the game, so I knew she’d have some details about the new park. If you've ever been to Port Orleans Riverside, you may have had a chance to hear Disney Legend YeeHa Bob Jackson performing in the River Roost Lounge. If you haven't, I can't recommend his show enough. I've been a fan of his for years, and I'm very honored to say he joined me as my guest on the show this week. Bob & I sat down to discuss his long tenure at Port Orleans Riverside, some of his favorite stories over the years, and experiences outside of Disney.
