Welcome to Life In The Middle @ NHMS! Our podcast will provide updates and happenings for Northern Hills Middle School along with hosting various guests that will offer tips and advice on how to help us all navigate these middle years.
It's time for students to decide their learning preference for 2nd semester. This podcast gives more information about this important choice.
In a first for our show, we interview someone outside of our recording studio to bring the life of a virtual student into the walls of NHMS!
Our first episode of Season 2 features Becky Telzerow, one of our school counselors at NHMS. We hear about the beginning of the school year along with some tips for families and students on how to navigate virtual and remote learning.
There are lots of choices for our Husky CREW to think about for their schedule next year. This episode aims to provide some overall information about the process and experiences are students will have as they begin the scheduling process.
Every year our 8th grade makes the transition from our Husky CREW to become freshmen at FHN. This year, FHN is doing some new things with our visits to help the transition go even better. With so many program options, students are going to get small group experiences seeing firsthand the options they have before scheduling.

At NHMS, we are fortunate to have an amazing class called GLI/Lead The Way. As part of this class, students have the opportunity to plan our annual MLK Day experience. Listen in and you will realize our future is bright with these student leaders.
This past week, our Drama students performed their version of The Parent Trap. We are able to go behind the scenes with four of the students to learn more about their experiences. They also share some funny bloopers that most audience members never knew happened. Sra. Groce also shares her thoughts on the Drama class and the performance.

Becky Telzerow is a Licenced Professional Counselor, and has worked with families and students for over 30 years in a variety of schools and private agencies. Helping families deepen their understanding of their students and their student's culture while providing tools is one of Becky's passions. She currently serves the Forest Hills community in her role as counselor at Northern Hills Middle School. This episode provides listeners an opportunity to get to know Becky and hear more about how her experiences have guided her into her current role.
