Darkness doesn’t always look like disaster. Sometimes it looks like a normal life you’ve carefully built while staying separated from God. From John 12:44–50, we follow the moment where Jesus “cried” out loudly and publicly, making a claim that still confronts every listener: to believe in Him is to believe in the Father, and to see Him is to see what God is truly like.
We walk through Jesus as the light of the world and why that language only makes sense if spiritual darkness is real. We talk about what it means to “abide” in darkness: not a passing feeling, but a place where people build a home, a purpose, and a set of pursuits. If we won’t love God, we will still love something. If we won’t believe God, we will still believe something. That’s how entire cultures and personal habits can form around substitutes that cannot heal guilt, fear, numbness, or the slow slide into apathy.
Then we sit with a line many people miss: Jesus says He does not come to judge, but to save. We hold that mercy alongside the warning that His words will judge in the last day, because God’s commandment is life everlasting. The invitation is simple and direct: turn your faith away from the darkness and toward Christ, speak to Him, and ask Him to save you and make you new.

God doesn’t just hover at a distance in the Christmas story. He names a town, names a person, sends a messenger, and speaks a word that collides with what feels “normal.” We open Luke 1:26 and walk slowly through Gabriel’s announcement to Mary, paying attention to the shock of being called “highly favored,” the fear that follows, and the deep comfort tucked inside a simple command: fear not.
From there, we trace the promise to its center: Jesus Christ, the Son of the Highest, the King on David’s throne, the Savior whose kingdom has no end. We talk about why “With God nothing shall be impossible” is not a slogan but a faith statement anchored in God’s track record from Abraham onward. We also name a real danger for modern life and even church life: letting your day-to-day experience become your final authority, as if God can only fit inside your box.
Then we bring it home. Mary’s answer, “Be it unto me according to thy word,” becomes a blueprint for the kind of faith that heals, steadies, and moves a person to action. We connect the message to the exhaustion many people carry, the cycle of guilt, loneliness, and chasing temporary highs, and we give a direct invitation to call on Jesus for salvation and a new identity. The world has a thousand explanations for why this moment feels unstable, but we step back and ask a sharper question: what if it is actually an unparalleled time to be alive because God’s grace is this open and this personal? We start in Acts chapter 1 with Luke’s words to Theophilus and treat them like they were written to the church today, because they were. If you have trusted Christ, you are not a spiritual outsider looking in. You are a friend of God, loved on purpose, and invited into a living relationship that does not run on guilt, earning, or distance.
From there we trace a single line: Jesus began something, and it continues. The cross is not portrayed as a conclusion but as the doorway into a work that keeps moving through the Holy Ghost. We talk about the passion of Jesus as love in action, His heart to save, and God’s desire that none perish but that all come to repentance. Then we land on Acts 1:8 and get practical about “power” as something believers possess right now, power to be witnesses through truth, compassion, prayer, and intercession rather than performance.
We also dig into 1 Timothy 3:15–16 and the claim that the church is the church of the living God and the pillar and ground of the truth. In a world of shifting sand, the message stays the same across nations: the blood of the Lamb, the Holy Spirit, holiness, healing, wisdom, joy, and hope in Jesus Christ. “What is truth?” sounds like a philosophy question until you realize it’s also a life-and-death question. We start with gratitude and mercy, speaking to people who feel separated from God and reminding you that God still knows you, sees you, and keeps reaching toward you with love that doesn’t quit. That love is not an abstract idea to us. We point to Jesus Christ, crucified for sinners, as God’s clearest, most personal proof.
From Proverbs 16:25, we dig into why “doing what feels right” can seem wise while still leading to ruin. We talk about the loneliness of being your own judge, jury, and executioner, and how modern relativism turns truth into a private possession that keeps us isolated. Then we follow the bigger biblical pattern: God initiates. He speaks, reveals, and moves toward people across history and, in these last days, speaks through His Son.
In John 18, Jesus stands before Pontius Pilate and explains why He came into the world: to bear witness to the truth. We wrestle with Pilate’s famous line, “What is truth?”, and the many ways people dodge Jesus, dismiss Him, fear Him, or walk away sad. We contrast that with the dying thief who turns to Jesus at the last moment and finds mercy. We also challenge the church to live as the “pillar and ground of the truth,” to keep witnessing even when money is tight, and to trust God’s provision as we stay faithful to His mission.

What if the first story of human failure is also the first story of tender mercy? We open with a small moment of joy—a dad diving into a leaf pile with his kids—and use it to reframe Genesis 3 as a living, present word. The fall is real, the sorrow is real, and yet the promises are just as real: a bruised heel, a crushed head, and a God who covers shame with His own hands. This isn’t distant theology; it’s the pattern of grace that breaks into our daily exhaustion, fear, and control.
Together we unpack the serpent’s strategy, the weight of the curses, and the startling hope embedded in God’s sentences. Adam naming his wife Eve becomes a bold act of trust: believing that life will spring from the very place death entered. Then comes one of Scripture’s most intimate scenes—God crafting coats of skin, implying sacrifice and foreshadowing a better covering. The gate to the tree of life closes, not as punishment alone, but as mercy that makes room for redemption. What begins in Eden arcs forward to Mary’s yes, the Spirit’s miracle, and Christ, “made of a woman,” who carries no inherited guilt and offers a true and final covering.
We connect these ancient moments to our present lives—where we stitch fig leaves of excuses, numbness, and addiction, and where the voice of Jesus interrupts with life. Law tells the truth about our condition, and grace meets us with a cross that speaks a better word. Stones can be sealed, soldiers posted, and stories fabricated—but when heaven moves, everything changes. We walk through Matthew 27–28 and watch “It is finished” ripple into history: the temple veil tears from top to bottom, the ground shakes, rocks split, and graves open. A centurion confesses, faithful women remain, and joy rushes in where fear tried to rule. Then dawn breaks, an angel descends, and a single act from heaven shatters the strongest seal on earth. The contrast snaps into focus—some hearts harden into a fight, while others fall at Jesus’ feet in worship.
We talk plainly about what this means now: life in Christ is unavoidable when He makes you a living temple. The Holy Spirit indwells, bears fruit, and equips with real gifts for real service. The call is to become a broken vessel that lets light shine, not to polish the jar. We name the resistance—envy, fear, cynicism—and we answer it with Romans 5:8: God proves His love while we are still sinners. No bribe, guard, or lie can bury a risen Lord, and no past is powerful enough to cancel the grace that calls you by name.

A stormy night sets the scene for a fierce challenge: what if your church sounds brave, looks busy, and still lets Goliath preach twice a day? We open 1 Samuel 17 and watch fear masquerade as momentum—trenches dug, shouts raised, yet hearts dismayed. The contrast is stark. Saul starts strong and ends tormented, while David arrives under the anointing and sees the same battlefield through a different lens. He remembers lions and bears, refuses fleshly armor, and answers a giant by the name of the Lord of hosts.
We walk through the spiritual mechanics of how cycles form: forgotten testimonies, leadership drift, and the slow normalization of 90 percent victory. Then we name the way out. Remember what God has done—in Scripture, in this house, in your life—and let that living memory become your smooth stone. We talk about the Word of God as the only offensive weapon worth drawing, why borrowed strategies don’t fit, and how the Spirit inside you stirs a holy “have to” that moves you from trench to field. A quiet milestone turns into a bold charge: if the heart is the wellspring of our words and choices, then the real battle is not cosmetic but core. We walk through Ecclesiastes 8 and 2 Peter 3 to confront a hard truth—when judgment doesn’t come quickly, we often mistake God’s patience for approval—and then we flip that lie on its head with the better truth of grace. A quiet morning under a star-filled sky turns into a bold call to expect God daily. We begin with Abram’s promise that ignored age and circumstance and move into Genesis 6, where God’s sorrow over human evil doesn’t paralyze Him—it propels both judgment and mercy. Noah becomes more than a flood survivor; he’s a living pattern of rescue, a preview of the cross, and a sign that God knows how to preserve a seed for a new beginning.
From that foundation we talk about faith that actually moves—David stepping toward Goliath, feet touching the Jordan before the waters part, mustard-seed trust that speaks to mountains. The thread isn’t hype; it’s obedience. We ask hard questions about malaise, fear, and the gap between what we say we believe and how we live on an ordinary day. Expectation becomes practice: listen, step, and let God close the door behind you when the rain starts to fall.

What if the most powerful evangelism strategy is the one Jesus already prayed for? We open John 17 and sit in the quiet space where the Son talks to the Father, then realize His words reach across centuries to include us. From the cross to Pentecost, the church is born with a shared identity—people who know God, walk in joy, and live set apart—and a shared calling to become visibly one so the world believes the Father sent the Son.
We unpack what real Christian unity is and isn’t. It’s not compromise, not soft on sin, and not a lowest-common-denominator truce. It’s a Spirit-forged bond among distinct people who share one Lord, one faith, one baptism. Jesus gives His church glory—the weight of God’s presence and purpose—so we can pray boldly, worship freely, bear one another’s burdens, and grow up together into maturity. Over time, a family resemblance emerges: hope in grief, joy in hardship, kindness that doesn’t keep score. That oneness is not a private feeling; it’s a public sign that makes neighbors curious and opens doors for the gospel.

Judgment may be at the door, but mercy is still on the line. We open with Jeremiah’s long obedience—twenty-three years of warning a people who traded covenant for idols—and watch God rise early, again and again, to call them home. When the king burns the scroll in Jeremiah 36, the word returns with “many like words.” You can silence paper, not truth. That moment becomes a mirror: how often do we want a God who agrees with us rather than a Savior who tells the truth that sets us free?
From there we move to the hard, hopeful counsel of Jeremiah 38: submit to God’s judgment and live. It’s not surrender to chaos; it’s surrender to reality with God still in it. We talk about waves of consequence, false prophets promising easy outs, and the surprising mercy inside a painful path. Then we connect it to Romans 5, where the gospel speaks with breathtaking clarity—while we were without strength, Christ died for the ungodly. The cross is love in motion: not God demanding our blood, but God offering His own to justify, to save from wrath, and to bring us into joy and peace that actually hold.
This is a message for anyone standing on the edge—tired of idols, wary of religion that flatters but cannot save, ready for a word that won’t burn away. Grace and peace aren’t throwaway words; they’re the gateway to everything that follows. We open Revelation 1:4–7 and move from greeting to glory, showing how grace turns the heart and peace settles the soul as the Holy Spirit brings us into living fellowship with the Father and the Son. From there, we face the question Pilate asked—what is truth—and answer by pointing to Jesus as the faithful witness who makes us free in the present tense, not someday, but now.
We walk through the cross as a finished work that no moral effort or religious grind can rival. The Spirit applies that victory by convincing us of sin, righteousness, and judgment that drives us to mercy, not despair. Then we step into identity: washed in his own blood, we are made kings and priests. That means authority expressed through obedience, and a priesthood embodied in witness, prayer, and presence—salt that preserves, a city that cannot be hidden, a pillar that stands when the storm hits. We also confront time’s drift and remember that God’s word does not thin with age; what he spoke remains fresh, living, and binding.
Finally, we lift our eyes: behold, he comes with clouds, and every eye shall see him. For those set against him, that day means wailing; for those who respond to grace, it means joy. The Spirit and the bride still say, Come. If you’re thirsty for truth, tired of fear, or ready to lay down your fight, drink the water of life freely and live with the peace only Jesus gives.

A fallen face tells a story long before the words show up. We open Genesis 4 and sit with Cain and Abel, two brothers bringing offerings and two hearts approaching God in very different ways. When God receives Abel and rejects Cain, the question under everything isn’t about technique or ritual—it’s about faith, motive, and whether we trust the God who sees.
We walk slowly through God’s response to Cain’s hot anger: a personal question, a promise of acceptance, and a sober warning that sin crouches at the door. This is the God of Scripture—alive, near, and relentlessly engaged—who confronts us without crushing us and calls us to be lifted instead of swallowed by resentment. The story darkens with Abel’s murder, but even there we find a surprising thread of mercy. God names the crime, announces consequences, and still marks Cain to restrain vengeance. Justice and compassion meet, hinting at a deeper resolution that the Bible later makes plain.
From there we explore the “way of Cain”: leaving God’s presence, building a city, advancing art and technology, and trying to drown the cry of blood with noise and achievement. Yet the ground still speaks, and the New Testament reveals that another blood speaks louder—the blood of Jesus, which does not accuse the repentant but covers them. We connect the ancient scene to everyday choices: religious performance versus real trust, anger versus honesty, self-made meaning versus a reconciled life with God. The invitation is direct and simple: stop running, look up, and let faith rise into confession. The living God still lifts fallen faces.

The story of Simon becoming Peter shows how Jesus looks past who we are now to who we can be in Him. From the first moment they met, Jesus spoke a new name and identity over a weary fisherman who had no idea what was coming.
On the shores of Galilee, after a night of empty nets, Simon reluctantly obeyed Jesus’ call to “launch out into the deep.” The overflowing catch that followed wasn’t just about fish—it was about a life transformed. Confronted with his own unworthiness, Simon fell at Jesus’ feet, only to hear the words that would change his future: “Do not fear. From now on you will catch men.”
This encounter still speaks today. Jesus isn’t put off by our failures or doubts—He steps into our boat, calls us deeper, and reveals who we truly are in Him.

Desperate circumstances have a way of driving us straight to Jesus. In Mark 5, we meet Jairus – a synagogue leader whose beloved 12-year-old daughter lies dying. His position, knowledge, and resources prove worthless against death's approach, so he does the unthinkable: he throws himself at Jesus' feet in total surrender.
As Jesus agrees to help, the crowd presses in from all sides. Suddenly, everything stops. A woman with a 12-year blood condition has touched Jesus' garment and been instantly healed. While this interruption might seem cruel considering Jairus' urgency, it serves a profound purpose. Before Jairus faces the devastating news that his daughter has died, he witnesses firsthand Jesus' power over incurable conditions.
When messengers arrive with the worst news a parent could hear, Jesus immediately counters: "Don't be afraid, only believe." Upon reaching the house, professional mourners create chaos with their wailing. Jesus declares the girl is merely sleeping, not dead – and is met with scornful laughter. After removing the skeptics, Jesus takes the girl by the hand and speaks seven world-changing words: "Little girl, I say to you, arise."
This story transcends its historical context to speak directly to our spiritual condition. Many of us are walking in spiritual death – separated from God and manifesting symptoms like pride, despair, hatred, or addiction. The noise of competing voices drowns out the simple truth: Jesus offers resurrection power to dead souls. Just as He counted the parents' faith sufficient for their daughter's physical resurrection, He extends His hand to us now.

What happens when you've been bedridden for eight years with no hope of recovery? The story of Aeneas reveals the transformative power of five simple words: "Jesus Christ makes you whole."
This profound message explores spiritual paralysis through the lens of a man who couldn't move without help. For eight years - a divinely appointed timeframe - Aeneas remained trapped in his condition, beyond medical intervention, unable to change his circumstances. His physical state mirrors our spiritual reality: helplessly bound by sin, separated from God, and powerless to save ourselves.
The symptoms are familiar. Perhaps you're battling the slow cancer of pride that gradually consumes until the inevitable fall. Maybe it's the fever of hatred burning inside, affecting your mind and body. Or possibly you're caught in the cycle of addiction - highs followed by crashes, with mounting consequences. The paralysis of lust might be your struggle, constantly dominating your thoughts and emotions. Whatever the manifestation, the root cause remains the same: separation from the God who formed you.
When Peter approached Aeneas with those transformative words, something remarkable happened. "He arose immediately." Not merely healed physically, but made whole spiritually. His sickbed became a place of rest rather than misery. His weakness turned to strength. His bondage gave way to freedom. And the impact reached far beyond one man - an entire region witnessed the transformation and turned to the Lord.
The message resonates powerfully today: Jesus still makes people whole. He still approaches those in helpless situations, offering complete transformation. While we were yet without strength, Christ died for the ungodly. His hand remains extended to those burdened by guilt, shame, anger, bitterness, depression, or despair.

What separates the true God from countless imitations? He's alive – and He interacts with us personally.

Today we look at Proverbs 10:22 and the profound truth about the nature of God's provision that many believers overlook.
When Israel crossed the Jordan River, God didn't just part the waters—He completely dried the ground beneath their feet. This wasn't merely practical; it revealed God's character. He doesn't give partial blessings or halfway solutions. From creation to salvation, from feeding thousands to healing the sick, God's work is always complete.
Yet many of us approach prayer with a scarcity mindset, afraid to ask boldly or expecting God's gifts to come with hidden troubles attached. We've forgotten who we're praying to—the eternal, limitless God who exists outside creation's framework while intimately working within it. The God who made you in His image, who calls you beloved, who gave His only Son for your salvation.
The way we pray reveals what we believe about God. Do we trust Him as the giver of good gifts? Do we believe His blessings truly come without sorrow? When Jesus healed, He didn't leave people needing further treatment. When He fed crowds, everyone ate until satisfied with baskets left over. When He saved us, He didn't just rescue us from hell but gave us abundant life and seated us with Him in heavenly places.
God delights in your bold requests that bring glory to His name. Whatever situation you're facing, He wants to walk through it with you, providing in ways that exceed your imagination and create opportunities for testimony. Your prayers don't need to be timid—approach Him confidently as a child who knows their Father gives perfectly good gifts.

The living presence of Jesus Christ changes everything. Not as a distant concept or mere historical figure, but as an active, engaged Lord who speaks into your specific circumstances right now.
When we truly grasp that Jesus is alive (not just theoretically but practically), it transforms how we approach everything. Financial stress, relational conflict, health concerns, workplace difficulties — none of these situations remain the same when we walk with the living Christ through them. He knows you better than you know yourself. Your thoughts, feelings, family dynamics, and deepest needs are completely visible to Him, and He responds not as a passive observer but as sovereign Lord.

What does it truly mean to be "born again"? In this exploration of Jesus's midnight conversation with Nicodemus, we unpack one of the foundations of the Word of God.
When Nicodemus, a respected Pharisee and Jewish leader, approached Jesus acknowledging Him as a teacher from God, Jesus responded with a statement that completely reframed their interaction: "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." This declaration left Nicodemus confused, trapped in a literal interpretation of rebirth that seemed biologically impossible.
Jesus wasn't speaking of physical impossibilities but spiritual necessities. The Greek term for "born again" carries dual meaning – both "a second time" and "from above" – revealing that this spiritual transformation cannot originate from human effort but must come from God Himself. As Jesus explained, "That which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which is born of Spirit is spirit."
This message strikes at the heart of our human condition. We cannot manufacture spiritual rebirth through religious devotion, education, behavioral modification, or any human achievement. It requires divine intervention – a miracle that transforms us at our core. Yet this isn't cause for despair but hope, for the God who requires this rebirth is the same God who delights in making it possible. Through Christ's sacrificial work on the cross, what is impossible for humanity becomes possible through God.

John 10:10 - "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
From the beginning, the primary tactic of the demonic is deception.
It is used to kill, to steal, to destroy. It steals joy, hope, peace security.
Churches need to recognize that this is going on and be equipped from the Word of God to minister and deal with this. The demonic is active in this generation - that's something we can't just sit back and pretend isn't real. At least in America, it tends to work very privately, in the mind. It snatches away the Word of God. It builds up accusations. It builds up arguments against the Word of God. It builds up all these walls that insulate the person from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

But there's something weird that happens sometimes in evangelism. People say something to the effect of "I called on the name of the Lord, but I'm still in my sin." Or "I called on the name of the Lord, but I'm still angry and hostile."
Essentially, I tried that but it didn't work.
In reality, the heart and the mouth need to be in the same place. Romans tells us, "with the heart man believeth unto righteousness." If that person in their will goes with God, honestly wants Jesus as their Lord, out of their heart erupts this confession, this crying out, coming from a heart that has already believed. Then the heart and the mouth are in the same place. If the mouth is saying something but the heart is somewhere else, the Lord does not honor that. There can be no middle ground.
Acts 2:17-2117 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

We build on this foundation - the love between us and Jesus is essential and must be established, set, vibrant, alive. Out of that relationship, we bear fruit, we are supported. We need to have a remembrance of who Jesus is, what He has done, the words that have been spoken of Him and by Him. Though there are going to be mockery, persecution, rejection in these last times. There has got to be a mutual love between you and Jesus Christ. That's Biblical, it's what God wants for us, and it's critical as we walk through someone rejecting us because we share the Gospel or minister to someone.
There comes a point where someone may curse you, be angry at you, yell at you because you preach the Gospel. How are you going to "count" in that situation as Paul does in the verses below?

As you go about in any sort of ministry capacity, sharing the Gospel, witnessing, any occasion when you are reaching out and bringing people to Jesus, what do you do with the inevitable rejection? The Word of God gives us answers for this. Abiding in Christ is absolutely critical as you do any evangelistic work. Jesus is the foundation for everything.
John 15:1-8
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

John 6:60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
There is quite a lot said in the Bible that would be considered to be "hard."
Jesus said, "My yoke is easy and my burden is light." Anything other than this is a result of sinful nature. We can see the mercy, love, and goodness of God in action throughout all of Scripture, through everything Jesus did. The foundation of all of this is His holy love. This is not hard, rough, harsh, difficult.

There's a whole lot of fear associated with evangelism, and that's from the devil.
It is Christ's desire that people hear the Gospel. Those that hear that Gospel may reject it, but they are not rejecting you, they are rejecting Jesus. He's not going to leave the church with the word to "go and make disciples of all nations" and not give the peace, and the equipping, and the resources to do that.
Revelation 1:17-18
And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: 18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

God is alive, He speaks, and we must not refuse Him that speaketh. God is something other than a set of logical propositions, He is something other than a narrative assembled across centuries. He is alive today and He speaks!
Hebrews 12:18-26

Is the desire of your heart as a Christian, and the desire of your church "Oh that men would praise the Lord!" How deep the list of the wonderful works of God! By Him and through Him are all things. He shows His wonderful works every single day. Today, we look at this particular work - "Satisfying the longing soul and filling the hungry soul with goodness."

We begin a short series out of Psalm 107 and talk about how the Lord Jesus brings salvation. His goodness and mercy make salvation possible, because it is the will of God to reconcile, the will of God to redeem. It's God's heart to redeem, in response to sin, in response to rejection, in response to hatred, His mercy is still upon His enemies.

Psalm 90:1-2
Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
God has moved in the past, God is moving in the present, and we will see Him continue to move in the future. There has been a passing from one generation to another of the precious Gospel of Jesus Christ. And there's a real ministry when someone from an elder generation is able to pass on, pour into, and disciple a younger generation. There's something special about that in the Lord, and if you don't have that, you need that.
If the Lord tarries, we must be that for the generation after us.
Let's talk about the mind, specifically from the book of Romans.
God does not want you to be brainwashed.
God does not want you to be a mindless puppet.
God does not want you to be a soulless, spiritless, emotionless, dead machine.
Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Today, we continue in Romans 10, looking at verses 14 and 15:
"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"
God not only desires that all men come to repentance, He made that possible.
You don't have to do a lot of religious ritual to find Jesus.
God has given every human being a measure of faith - the ability to believe on Him unto salvation, the ability to hear the Gospel, to be drawn by God, and to respond with belief. Romans says "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." God has given this gift to humanity.
There's so much confusion around getting the words right, getting the ritual right, how many times you pray, how you pray. It's not about where you are or how you hear... When Jesus is being preached it's about what is going on in your heart. If the mouth says "I believe Jesus" but the heart says "I don't believe Jesus," there is not salvation.
Extraordinarily, gloriously, wonderfully, beautifully normal. The description of the work Jesus does in bringing a person to salvation.
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." - 2 Corinthians 5:17Jesus comes in and does this miracle in us, moving in and through someone who is lost and taking that dead spirit and quickening it. If you don't know that miracle personally (or even if you do), this episode is a must-listen!
We've seen a lot about Satan, about the demonic - how they move on people today in a ministry of deception, lying, murder. They are real and influential today, running interference against those who are hearing the Word of God.
Today, we look at Matthew 12.
A lot of people believe Satan's accusations about God. They believe that God is a tyrant, that He is mean, that He is keeping people from discovering their "authentic selves." They believe God is evil, so they find a deception that suits them. The age old accusation of the Devil that God cannot judge, God has no right to judge, He has no right to say what is good and not good. This goes all the way back to when Lucifer fell and he persuaded 1/3 of the angelic host to follow him all because God judged him. And to this day, we still believe this accusation.
It's all upside down, it's all twisted, but despite all of that, there's a reality that God is love.

"Hath God said?" It's a very basic strategy the demonic uses to question the nature of God, the goodness of God, the wisdom of God, the power of God, the love of God. If you go back to Adam, when Adam fell, we were in Adam, so the fall literally changed our nature and we have a sin nature. Before salvation, we naturally see God and holiness and goodness as outside things. God has to reach in because we are strangers to holiness. We view holiness as the weird thing, the scary thing, maybe oppressive, maybe "holier-than-thou", maybe questioning fear and accusation. However we see it, that is the way we are naturally pre-disposed as fallen man. Naturally, we question God. Naturally, we accuse God. Naturally, we sin, we lust, we hate authority. All Satan has to do is make that a little easier, fan the flames, awaken those passions, and he can easily do it with "hath God said?"
We've been talking about Jesus, the demonic, and evangelism, salvation, and soul-winning.
The demonic is a very real thing in the lives of people today, whether you are a Christian or not. It's important to see that, and to see that soul-winning is not just a set of rules, or approaches, or questions that people need to answer the right way. It's a work of the Holy Spirit, a miracle of God. God is the one that does a work in a human. He is the one that makes all things new. And at the same time that God is real, we need to have an awareness that Satan is real and working in real ways in the world today.
As we continue our series, we'll look today at 2 Corinthians 4.
"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." - 2 Corinthians 4:3-4What is the Gospel?
Who are the lost?
Who is the god of this world and how does he blind these minds?
We continue our series on Jesus, the demonic, and evangelism, starting this week in John 6:44. We must first establish that salvation itself is a work of God. He is not willing that any should perish, and He acts on that in love toward people who are lost, dying, and bound in sin. He draws toward salvation, to Jesus.
We can't wake up one morning and decide to be a Christian.
Except God draws us, we cannot be saved.
God Himself moves on the Spirit of a person, reveals lostness, and reveals His love.
The demonic is real, and we must be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. The devil is real, but so is the armor of God, and through Him we may walk in victory.
Ephesians 6:10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.Not "be strong in yourself" or "be strong in your own ability or strength." Be strong in the LORD! This is radically different than telling someone "just be strong and you'll overcome this, get through it, surpass this obstacle."
Ultimately, the strength of man is small. Even the most skilled among athletes has a limit. Our strength fails. The Lord's does not.
Today, we look at a simple but eternally important point - Salvation by any other way besides what Jesus says is not salvation. Jesus himself is the Author and Finisher of our faith, according to Hebrews. If we want to know what salvation is, we need to look at Jesus alone.

For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee."The Bible is not just a work of literature or a work of history, it proceeded directly from the Holy God. It's a product from God's desire to interact with individual people and creation at large.
Do you take this for granted?
It's not a set of principles, a set of guidelines, good advice, a piece of culture... It is a Word from God and God Himself reveals who He is through this Word.
From Proverbs 2, we continue to look at the wisdom of God. Wisdom can be defined as "the correct application of knowledge." Both knowledge and wisdom proceed from the affectionate authority of God. God is interactive, He speaks, He reveals who He is, what creation is, who we are. He doesn't keep it to Himself or make it some big mystery. Rather, He speaks and gives the Bible, proceeding from God Himself, that contains truth and wisdom.
We look at Proverbs 1 and the affectionate authority of God the Father. His desire was not to create everyone and then sit back and watch it unfold, but rather to speak to that which He created and to have relationship with them. He was and is an involved Father.

We look at tradition and Scripture, and the real problems when Christians elevate tradition to the level of Scripture or even place it above Scripture. In this episode, we continue to study this dichotomy in Matthew 15.
It's a common theme in the New Testament: The scribes or Pharisees often came to Jesus with "questions" that weren't really even questions. They came to try to trap Jesus, challenging His "transgression" of the tradition of the elders. They're not wanting to know anything. They're not trying to get closer to God. Rather, they come from a position of pride, not approaching Jesus as LORD, but as someone to investigate or criticize.
We take a look at Matthew 15 and the difference between tradition and Scripture.

Since then, Julius has been through countless tests, studies, and through it all has had the privilege of walking with Jesus and seeing His hand guide Julius and his family.

Often, those who "have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof" do say they believe in Jesus. And yet, they stay in their sin, they are not saved. There is a difference between the belief of a humble, broken, lost sinner, and the belief of a devil.

Scripture speaks a great deal about the heart. It is "deceitful" and "desperately wicked" (Jer. 17:9), it is the source of our sin and defilement (Matthew 15:18-20), but a "broken and contrite heart" God won't despise (Ps. 51:17).
Today we talk with Jonathan McMasters, a young man who is quite familiar with the heart, both physically and spiritually. Jonathan has also undergone four open-heart surgeries throughout his life and speaks to us about how the Lord was with him through it all, even as an unbeliever, and how the Lord gave him a new spiritual heart through salvation.
Today we look at the difference between interacting with Jesus as He is and interacting with morality, or theology, or social norms. There is an eternal difference between the two.
If you're always learning, always getting your theology right, always attempting to follow goodness or social correctness, it's just going to inflame pride and keep you from Jesus.
We spend some time in Acts 2 and the preaching and response during Pentecost. Scripture says "they were pricked in their hearts" upon hearing the preaching during this time. Who did this pricking?

God initiated salvation. His response to sin is judgement and He judges between that which is sin and not sin. There's a difference between goodness and wickedness. God's response is to express truth, act according to truth, and to interact with you whether you're saved or lost.
We continue this incredibly important series on salvation - preservation from destruction, from an eternity in hell according to Scripture.
Whether you are a believer in Christ and have known salvation personally, or have never even heard of it at all, the reality is that Jesus is real, God is real, His wrath upon sin is real, and opportunity for salvation is real. Join us as we look at this throughout the Bible!
Salvation is not just a theological concept that varies from denomination to denomination. It cannot be separated from God. So in this episode, we begin by looking at the reality that God is alive, and that this living God gave us Scripture.
The final part of our look at the relationship between prayer and evangelism. We've looked at the need to declare the Word of God as it is, without concern for how people respond or how they may be offended. We must preach, teach, minister the Word of God.
Today we look at 1 Thessalonians 1. We may have different cultures, and different experiences, but we still heard the same Gospel and believe the same Jesus from this time in Thessalonica. This church experienced affliction, just as any Bible-preaching, Jesus-loving church will. They had particular needs, just as we do. Prayer is just as necessary in these times as evangelism.
We look at Ezekiel 22 - God spoke to Ezekiel and God spoke through Ezekiel. He's using Ezekiel to say "Thus saith the Lord," to reveal the sin going on at this point in history, to bring it to light according to God's holiness. This is always going to provoke a response in those that hear. It may provoke anger, it may provoke silence. But our ministry is always to give the Word of God regardless of how people respond. We need some simple, basic, Holy Spirit-given, Gospel preaching.
Evangelistic work is the outflow of relationship with God, the natural outflow of following Jesus and Jesus making you a fisher of men. So prayer is not something to be penciled into our schedule, Scripture commands us to pray without ceasing. This is only really possible if you’re born again, because God is always with you no matter what you do, so prayer naturally arises because you start talking with God.
Prayer and evangelism - both go hand in hand, they form a precious relationship because both of them naturally arise from a relationship with God. Scripture calls us to pray without ceasing, and it is near and dear to the heart of God. He instructs us through His Word how to pray and evangelize. Join us in Luke 11 for this first part of our series on these two crucial elements of a Godly life.

If you're born again, walking in Christ and walking in obedience to Christ, being sanctified by Christ, these are all just who you are. There's abundant life, fruitfulness, and growing, that comes out of your love for the Lord. It's not a huge, difficult thing to live your life according to His desires and will. Love is the motivation for obedience, worship, everything.

We continue to look at the critical difference between wanting Jesus, and wanting Jesus to do stuff for you, to give you things, to benefit you.
John 6:35 says that Jesus is the bread of life. Those who come to Jesus, we're not hungry, we're not thirsty. We need Him, not His stuff. You need healing, emotional help, wealth, comfort, those are all temporal things, and eventually this body is going to pass away. We need a Savior. We need the eternal Savior.
Do you follow Him because you love Him, or because you expect something from Him?
We look at John 6, and the all-too-common trend of seeking Jesus' stuff rather than Jesus Himself. Do you walk in the will of God? Do you seek Jesus because you want something He can offer, or because you desire Jesus?
It's a sobering reality that, even in our churches, this often occurs today.
God is real whether you believe in Him or not. He is alive, He has moved, and He continues to move in this world. He uses people to reach people, but it's not the people talking about their ideas, it's the people who are preaching the Word of God, living according to the Word of God, and giving you the Word of God.
It is not God's will for the church to start adopting the world's philosophies, its political battles, but rather to lean upon God. It is His design to lean on Him, to walk with Him, to be the beautiful picture of a bride leaning on her husband.
Is the church preaching to the world or is the world preaching to the church?
The simple question of whether the church is active in influencing the world or the world is active in influencing the church.
We continue with part two of this series on the "strange things" described by Luke 5:26.
The men described in this passage go to some extraordinary means to get close to Jesus. They don't come to Him to criticize, to use Him, with a selfish desire. They come with faith, and He responds based on their faith.
Why then must so many Christians be constantly poked, prodded, pushed to simply pick up a Bible, follow preaching, and walk according to the Lord?
As we look at Luke 5:17-26 we see that Jesus has come not to condemn, but to heal. To become our sins, die on the cross, and make a way for lost and dying sinners to be reconciled to God.
There are many who have a great deal of religious knowledge, who have done a great deal of religious work. But this work does not earn us standing before God.
Whether or not you have religious knowledge or not... Whether you have religious experience or not... Whether you've stepped into a church or not... Whether your parents forced you to go to church or not... Whether you're part of some other religion besides Christianity... Jesus has a redeeming love for the world and He desires to save your soul.
When we say that Jesus is the answer for everything, we're not being hokey, we're not being corny, it's not wishful thinking. In times of turmoil, Jesus Christ gives real peace, real physical, emotional, psychological healing like the world is never able to give. He is the Prince of Peace, the almighty God.
He gives peace, and the way He does that is by dealing with sin. As a church, we need to stand up and, in compassion, preach Christ to this chaotic world!
In today's America, there's so much upheaval. So much shaking. Socially, politically, physically, so much is changing. But the Word of God does not change. The God who gave that Word does not change.
We are instructed to worship Christ no matter what is going on on the outside, no matter the tribulation. We're called, not to take sides, but to worship Christ and go out and preach the Gospel and minister in the midst of it all.
Revelation 1:9 - "I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ."

Most people will be fine talking with you about the love of God, about creation, about the "broad-brush" theological concepts. But when you start talking about sin, the holiness of God, how the love of God is manifest in Jesus dying on the cross for our sin, things start to shift.

When we start to get specific, the walls often start to come up, and everyone becomes a theologian.
Especially for those of you who are ministers of the Gospel, preachers, born again believers who are sharing Jesus with others, don't be surprised if this is the way people respond. Don't be discouraged!
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
There's a difference between the works of the flesh and the fruits of the Spirit.
For those who are not in Christ, the natural result of our lives is sin. For those who are born again, who have had the blood of Jesus applied, the Holy Spirit is alive within us.
You plant watermelons, you get watermelons. You plant pumpkins, you get pumpkins. You plant tomatoes, you get tomatoes. If the Holy Spirit is in you, what do you get? The fruit of the Spirit.

When Christ became your sin, your flesh (spiritually speaking) was crucified with Him. He took the sin of the world, and in doing so, He took your personal sin. That sacrifice was applied to you if you are in Christ. We are therefore no longer slaves to that sin, we have been given conviction to show us when we are in sin. In that conviction, He treats us like sons and daughters, and He wants to raise us up, no longer belonging to sin.
Jesus is not a created being. Not the brother of lucifer. Not just a prophet or teacher. Not a rabbi. Not a pretender, not delusional, not a charlatan. Jesus is God.

There's a Catholic "jesus," a Jehovah's Witness "jesus", an Islam "jesus," a protestant "jesus." But there's a fundamental difference between knowing "a" jesus and knowing "the" Jesus.
Today, we study John 8:58, and look at who THE Jesus really is.
Idol worship may seem like a foreign idea, something practiced in ancient times and not seen today. Maybe you don't know many people who have created physical idols or worship Zeus or Thor, but idolatry is actually one of the most common sins in America and around the world.
Jesus has never been an idea. He is the Word. He is alive today, with God, and He is God. He has never and will never just be an idea or a philosophy or a history lesson. He is literally alive and moving. He existed before the concept of an idea ever existed.
We worship something at all times. If God is not the first and foremost object of that worship, something else is. Far too often, we get worship backwards, seeking an emotional response or a particular feeling, rather than seeking God first. Today, we speak with Pastor Jonathan Riddle, the Worship Pastor at Grace Baptist Tabernacle, about the definition of worship, it's foundation in Scripture, and the many schisms caused by focusing too deeply on the process of worship rather than the God that we worship.
We study 2 Samuel 21, near the end of David's life as he goes out for the final time into battle against the Philistines. David was a man after God's own heart. Somewhere along the line, something was passed along to the younger men. And it moved the younger men to take up the battle and the cause that had been David's for so long.

Though we are naturally strangers to holiness, God has not kept it in secrecy. We turn again to 1 Peter 1. God's love is a holy love and drives Him to relationship. He desires to re-establish the relationship that was broken by sin. God made a way for it to be as though sin never happened. A way according to His holiness, His goodness, His justice, His mercy, His longsuffering, His mercy, His love.
God's love is holy, God's love is relational, and God's love is covering. In this episode, we continue to look at 1 Peter 1, and the holiness of God. He is without sin, pure, upright. We are naturally strangers to this. Yet in His love and His mercy, He still desires relationship.
Join us as we look at holiness in 1 Peter 1. Holiness is something that is difficult for us as people to understand, even on an intellectual level, because we are such strangers to it. Naturally, we are all born into sin. We all go back to Adam. He fell, we were part of his seed, so we fell.
God is inherently holy. We are inherently sinful.

What is the Gospel? Why is it good news?

God did not need human permission to establish good and evil, holy and profane. Our flesh naturally kicks against this truth. In fact, our first reaction to the Gospel tends to be accusation against God.
We look at the widespread existence of loneliness and how is relates to fallen nature. In an increasingly "on-demand" environment, it's very easy to pick and choose what we want to hear and deal with, which can easily result in loneliness and isolation.
Misery loves company, but misery does not like God. We explore Psalm 34, and the reality of the how our burden is removed by God and replaced with real joy that is not based on temporary happiness, but rather founded on Him, His salvation, and His giving of the Holy Spirit.
Brad Riddle grew up in the church, attended seminary, and even served as a pastor for several decades before the Lord showed him he was lost and brought him to salvation. We discuss what it's like to try to live a "good" life with the image of godliness versus submitting to a holy, living God. In this episode, we interview Julius Sitterlee. Julius and his family’s lives were dramatically changed in November 2017. In an attempt to treat pain for a lower back issue, a doctor had prescribed a commonly used medication that was known to work well with patients like him. He had an extremely adverse reaction to his medication that led to a number of sudden neurological issues. His family watched as this very gentle, affectionate man experienced severe agitation, anxiety, emotional outbursts, and altered smell and taste. He stopped taking the medicine after only four doses, but more symptoms followed: difficulty walking, sleep deprivation, decreased speech output, inability to perform some learned tasks, involuntary jerks in his upper extremities, and memory loss.
In the following months, he spent time in the hospital for a heart condition that suddenly arose and was treated. Then, in May, the severe migraine headaches began. He also developed a highly debilitating hearing disorder characterized by an increased sensitivity to certain frequencies and volume ranges of sound.
Julius has daily migraine headaches. He has to wear protective headgear and can not go into public areas where there might be any overlapping noise.
Julius and his family have been such a ministry to the church family and friends that surround them. They have held unfailing hope in God and joy in the midst of an incredibly difficult time.
