The 1990's supergoup "Lucy Pearl" consisted of 3 very talented artists who were each a member of R&B and Hip Hop groups.
Raphael Saadiq (former member of Tony! Tonie! Tone!) and D'Angelo created "Lucy Pearl". D'Angelo unfortunately was not able to move forward with the group however Dawn Robinson (fromer member of En Vogue) and Ali Shaheed Muhammad (former member of A Tribe Called Quest) together formed "Lucy Pearl". The group released their self-titled debut album "Lucy Pearl" in 2000. "Dance Tonight", a single from that album earned them a Grammy Award nomination for "best R&B Vovla Performance by a Duo or Group" and an American Music Awards nomination for Best R&B/Soul Single- Group, Band or Duo. Unfortunately this group disbanded sometime after 2002.

Patrice Roberts is a soca artist from Trinidad and Tobago. She currenly performs alongside Machel Montano. Patrice first won the 1995 Sangre Grande Junior Calypso Monarch competition. In 2000, she became a top finalist in the competition, marking her ascent in the calypso arena. In the year 2001, she became the National Soca Monarch, the National Library Calypso Monarch and the National Junior Calypso Monarch. She again won the National Junior Calypso Monarch in 2002. hmm.. well except for this short piece of info: The Library of Congress said on Wednesday (May 23, 2012) that it was adding Ms. Summer’s “I Feel Love” to its National Recording Registry" as reported by The New York Times.
