The guys dedicate this episode to the big-name NFL Draft prospects that have decided to opt out. They talk Caleb Farley, Penei Sewell, Micah Parsons, Rashod Bateman, Ja'Marr Chase, and more.
Duval County got themselves some players in this one. The Jags haven't had a good offseason. They needed a win, and they got one in those three days. They drafted some really nice players to start the complete rebuild they need. Next year hopefully they're able to grab their franchise QB and really turn the franchise back around to what they were looking like they could be in 2017.
The New England Patriots are unlike any other franchise in the NFL, and in sports in general. Year after year it seems they overdraft random players and continue their dynasty no matter the bad draft grades. Can they continue that now with the AFC East ono the up and up, and without Tom Brady?
What they're doing in Buffalo is admirable. There's been a culture change, and that shows in the type of player they drafted at the top of this draft. They're physical players that will fit right in to the blue collar nature of #BillsMafia
Matt and Dalton go through the Jets draft pick by pick. And man, was it a doozie. They got nice value on their day one and two picks and took some good players on day three to boot. Good job by the Jets and General Manager Joe Douglas. Hopefully he can save them from coaching hell.
Matt and Dalton walk through all the picks Miami made in the 2020 NFL draft. There were players still available both felt could or should have been the picks in certain spots, but they came in with a plan to bolster the offensive line around their young franchise signal caller, and they did just that.
Are.... are we giving the Chiefs a pass on a poor draft because they're the defending Super Bowl Champs?
You're dang right we are, and that's okay. F it, have some fun. Draft a running back at 32 when you NEED a corner. Draft a linebacker when you NEED a corner. Draft ANOTHER offensive tackle when you have 75 on the roster already.
They'll still have a shot at the title next year, no matter what they did in the draft.
The Denver Broncos had one thing on their minds going into the draft this year, and it wasn't that green they grow in Colorado. They wanted SPEED. As much of it as they could get. And they succeeded. Listen as Dalton and Matt go through the class as a whole.
The Las Vegas Raiders drafted a bunch of absolute dogs. If I'm picking any draft class that I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley, it's the Raiders. Jon Gruden obviously wants the Las Vegas Raiders to have that same attitude as the Oakland Raiders had.
Dalton and Matt go through and discuss each pick in the LAC draft class. They don't give letter grades, because that's a stupid exercise, and they're not nerds, but they do go through and explain every pick.
Matt and Dalton talk winners, not so winner, surprises and best fits through two days of the NFL Draft
Matt and Dalton go through each individual pick of round one and provide analysis. Did the NFL screw up much? Did they get it more right than normal? How did the technology affect things?
Nick and AJ go through and preview this running back class. It's a deep one, with some nice day 3 options for teams looking for depth (or a starter, because it's running back.)

Matt and Dalton go through and tier the top prospects in the class. This is a good exercise to see where there could be reaches made or value to be had in certain areas.
Nick and AJ Highlight the most overrated and underrated players on the offensive side of the football in the 2020 NFL Draft including Tua Tagovailoa and Cole Kmet.

There have been a lot of big moves in free agency, and even though the guys were going to talk about offensive tackles, they instead pivoted to talk about how the big-time free agent signings have affected the top of the NFL draft.

Matt and Dalton are self-quarantining, being upstanding citizens and shit, so they actually recorded a podcast on time for their Monday morning release. Matt and Dalton discuss the importance and differences in mock drafts. They talk about how their views on mock drafts and their value and deployment differs, and even go into how it's important to track data on movement over time with prospects, which Benjamin Robinson @benj_robinson on Twitter does so well.
They also get into the perceived cluster F that was the NFL Draft Combine in 2020. The testing numbers across the board were surprisingly disappointing, and the guys get into why the schedule change could be the culprit. However, they also discuss Joe Marino's opinion that these guys should better prepare for evening testing during their preparation.
The NFL Draft Combine means different things to different players, fans, and evaluators. But no matter who you talk to, one thing that can never be taken away is the excitement it yields to all who view it. Matt and Dalton take you through the offensive positions, naming a winner and loser for each group, whether it actually matters or not.
Today Dalton and Matt give a bit more of a quick-hitter as Dalton is forced to run off to a million different things. But they were able to each give three combine participants they think can improve their stock and then get into how the cornerback class sits. Dalton believes he's a bit more strict as a grader than most, and they talk about the difficulty of quantifying upside in prospects new to a position.

In this Thursday episode, the guys go over the offensive skill positions in Mobile. Dalton fights for the honor and respect of one of his favorite prospects, and the guys vehemently disagree about the merits of this wide receiver group. Dalton has a slight heart attack at the very beginning of the pod when he gets a surprise rolling through Tweetdeck.
The guys discuss the happenings of the championship game and the individual performances of the prospects involved. They also ask the questions, "will Matt win his rec basketball game today," and "will Dalton ever get his media credentials for the Senior Bowl.

Matt and Dalton go through and rank each of the head coaching hires from 1-4 in terms of simply the head coach and then adding staff additions as well. Then they get into the Divisional Round matchups and predict which teams will move on to their conference championships.
They also go off the rails a bit and talk about "Fleabag" and the difference between "beauty" in America compared to the UK. It's a wild ride.
The guys discussed the latest Wild Card Round, which ended up being just that: WILD! The Patriots run as we know it is probably over. The Bills/Texans game was a BEATDOWN that had some fantastic theatrics. Kirk Cousins asked everyone if we liked that, and DK Metcalf made his playoff debut in style.
In the first episode of the DraftSZN Podcast, Nick Farabaugn and AJ Schulte delve into the 2020 QB class and the best fits for each QB, and talk other top and polarizing prospects including Henry Ruggs, Jerry Jeudy, Devonta Smith, and A.J. Dillion
The guys start off by talking about a few of the underclassmen declarations before getting into some of the surprising returns to school, in particular the Alabama players returning to school for 2020.
The guys go through all the big news that happened over the weekend and that happened before about 5PM Eastern on Black Monday. It's the best day in Matt's Redskins fandom, Dalton has anxiety over the Cowboys non-decisions, and they ponder some of the possible head coaching and GM candidates around.
They also apologize and recognize the Miami Dolphins, whom they both believed could be in contention for the worst team in NFL history going into 2019 and thought it a certainty after a few weeks. Big ups to coach Brian Flores and GM Chris Grier for the works they've done so far.
Matt sleeps in until noon Eastern, worrying Dalton to death, but he finally awakes from his slumber to record a dueling mock draft. Welp, the NFL Being the wacky best it is, the guys preseason predictions for divisional winners were...... not perfect. In today's episode they revisit their preseason predictions and make adjustments according based off what they've seen so far this season. The NFC is a jumbled mess of playpff level teams, whereas the AFC is more a dumpster fire where only about 7 or 8 teams legitimately have a shot at a playoff spot.

They also talk about the difficulties of evaluating the quarterback position, using Luke Falk and Brett Rypien as the example. The guys also get into personal football stories from their playing days.
The guys take down the big slate of college games and then talk the NFL slate, previewing and betting on each.
FOURTY MINUTES WORTH OF STRAIGHT COWBOYS VS REDSKINS PREVIEW. How does this Redskins offense move the ball against the Cowboys? Can these receivers separate against the Cowboys secondary? Can Anthony Brown keep up with Scarry Terry downfield if he lines up in the slot. Will Washington take shots downfield against Byron Jones coming off injury or Chido Awuzie who often doesn't locate the ball? With the poor slate of College Football games, the guys go through each NFL contest and make their bets for the season-long contest between each other.
The guys get together to talk about some of the college football they watched, specifically from a scouting perspective. They talked about multiple quarterbacks they'd seen and a certain lightning fast runningback.
Then, they get into the big game between Texas and LSU before hitting the insane Monday Night games. Hated to see Deshaun Watson lose and they both want BOB canned. The Raiders dominated the Broncos, as we all expected... right?
Week 1 is over save for the Monday Night games, and boy if Twitter isn't on fire with the takes. In honor of those brave souls, Matthew and Dalton give some overreactions of their own. With Washington and Dallas playing next week, the fireworks are sure to continue for the hosts.
Before the episode, Matt and Dalton got into a "discussion" about Jason Peter's recent play. The injury was not up for debate. The discussion was simply about how they play when he is on the field and healthy. Dalton blasted him on Twitter by asking if Peters was still really good to the best offensive line evaluators on Twitter.
Then, they get into the top college games and how they thinnk they'll sjake out before getting into betting each other on each NFL game on the slate.
Division by division record predictions all the way down to the Super Bowl, followed by bets being made for the Packers vs Bears game on Thursday Night.
The guys recap the Thursday games they had the chance to see and then spend time previewing the weekend slate of games and what prospects to watch before making their bets on five games.
It went down in the DMs prior to recording this one. The guys have differing opinions on who the top offensive tackle is in the class, and they try to work through who is right. Then the guys discuss who they prefer between Henry Ruggs and CeeDee Lamb. Then Dalton gets you ready for the Thursday slate of College Football by going over some names to watch from the top teams playing on Thursday.
Welp, Andrew Luck up and retired. So what does that mean for the Colts and the AFC South as a whole? Are they still the favorite? Can the Texans or the Titans top them? Can Jacksonville be a complete surprise? Why does Cole McDonald hate possessing the football? Why did either Miami or Florida actually want to win a football game?

Antonio Brown is.... interesting. Jerry Jeudy is really, really good. Henry Ruggs might end up being better. Ceedee Lamb might too. Jalen Reagor could run sub 4.3, but the TCU offense is trash. Alabama and Michigan each have three big time receivers and Aaron Fuller's tape was a tad disappointing.
In today's episode, the guys discuss the Thursday night group of games and preview the slate for the weekend, noting some players they're excited for. Remember though folks, this is the preseason, and we shan't get too excited folks.
Is it insane to write a mock draft in August? Yes. Is it crazy to do schedule predictions before the end of the preaseason? Always. But Matt did both those things. And because it's a mock draft + record prediction, Dalton isn't happy about where his Dallas Cowboys ended up picking, and Matt's hate for Kirk Cousins shines through with the 7-9 Vikings record.
Matt went on a rampage recently, attempting to go to war with all 32 NFL fanbases. We took time today to review his work, and to see which taeks had merit and which needed to be thrown in the garbage.
The Pick-10 became a fun exercise for folks over the past few days, so the guys come together to battle it out for dominance. No draft, duplicates allowed, who is the winner? They also quickly discuss the horrors of the Hall of Fame game, which at times made the AAF look comparable. Luckily, the end-of-game excitement saved the night.

The guys draft their wide receivers for the 2019 1v1 Fantasy draft. They get into a certain list made up of quarterbacks in the NFL (author's name redacted) and finish up by answering questions from Twitter.
Runningbacks don't matter, at least in real life. In the world of fantasy football, having production at the position is imperative to the success of your team. The guys pick three each, two starters and an alternate for their upcoming 1v1 season long best ball. Remember, these are backs ranked outside Matthew Berry's top-10. They also discuss the recent reinstatement talks with Randy Gregory and Martavis Bryant, They discuss the Melvin Gordon talk and the possibility of an Ezekiel Elliott camp holdout.
The guys get away from serious football for a minute to choose their two quarterbacks for their 1v1 best ball league. No clue the punishment for the loser of the season. They also draft 3 each from the categories of pastries, breakfast foods and ice cream. They finish by having a "conversation" about chicken wings.
The guys break down the positional groups in the AFC East. It's a group with a lot of competition, and Matt and Dalton found it difficult to place multiple groups. The Dolphins consistently found the bottom of the barrel, but it shouldn't stay that way forever.
Dalton is absent for this round, so Jared Feinberg joins Matt to talk his beloved Panthers and the entirety of the NFC South.
The guys discuss the quality of each positional group in the AFC South. There weren't many battles to be had, but the division boasts good defensive line and cornerback talent. On the offensive side, the division has two very good signal-callers, despite possessing sub-par backfields all round. The wide receiver ranking was the most difficult to pin down on the offensive side.
No division in the NFC (unless you're a Bucs believer) has more variability in it than the NFC North. Anything could happen in it, as is evident by the difficulty Matt and Dalton had coming to a consensus on multiple positional rankings withing the division.
The guys go through the AFC North positional groups and rank them 1-4. Dalton addresses the SHOCKING results of Matt's poll ranking the best looking podcast cohost. The AFC North is a personal favorite of each host, and there were a few more difficult decisions to be made in this division compared to others. The guys discuss who their top-5 runningbacks are in the NFL right now. They discuss why they prefer one over another, and then Dalton completely contradicts himself when they begin to discuss the prospects of the upcoming 2020 RB class, which includes some absolute UNITS. Then, the guys discuss the upcoming quarterback class, and some of the reservations they have about the group right now aside from the top two guys.
The guys had to do it. They had to finally address the QB tiering controversy that has divided Twitter even more than fans wearing rose-colored glasses in regards to the upcoming success of their teams. Because some of the controversy came from Alexis Kraft's tier, the guys discuss that and the touchy subject of debating and disagreeing with a woman in a sports opinion.
The guys discuss what picks from each round that sent there hizzies into a tizzy. Dalton offends Matt with one of his choices, and then they both go on to slander an NFL franchise that won their division last season, a QB that can't throw left and A WR core with names but, meh. Then they talk about a team they feel can turn it around, even if they did take the 4th best RB in the class with the 4th overall pick a few years back.
The guys finally return after a long absence to discuss which picks in each round really got their juices flowing. Dalton talks about his displeasure towards AT&T at the moment, and they get you primed for season 2 with the team recording their forces and drifting their words into your ear drums.

Eight offensive linemen drafted from 33-64. Front offices are building teams in the trenches. It's a testament to how good this offensive tackle group is.
Matt and Dalton go through picks 17-32 of this mock draft. A surprise name from the defensive interior emerges. The Patriots continue to win all the Super Bowls.
Trends include -18 of the 32 picks ended up being defensive players. -11 defensive linemen -3 QBs in the top 10 -0 runningbacks

I spend most of the time during this episode swooning over the top of this interior offensive line class, which is one of the most solid top 5's in this class. Nelson, Wynn and Daniels are all first round grades for me and Price and Hernandez are just outside of that range. There is a "pick your poison" feel between Daniels, Price and Hernandez.

Today, I talked about the new age of rangy LB's that we are seeing become the mold in the NFL. Leondard, Warner, Scales and Moore are all either undersized or played a hybrid-type role at school. None with the exception of Warner tested even decently. I go into some detail about why that's okay.

I talk about Marcell Ateman, Simmie Cobbs and J'Mon Moore as some of the second tier of big wide outs. I go through the top five picks from a predictive and what I would do angle. I finish up talking about Lamar not hiring an agent, noot running the 40 and his pre-draft process as a whole.
