This Sunday, we wrap up Made for THIS by exploring how God calls us to move forward by changing the patterns that keep us going in circles. In Nehemiah 9–10, we see that true renewal begins when we acknowledge our sin, take responsibility, and trust Jesus—the one who gives us the power to live differently.
Week 9 of Made For THIS follows Nehemiah 7–8 as the wall is finished, leadership is entrusted to the next generation, and God’s Word gathers and reshapes His people. In Nehemiah 8 we see three movements—Hear what God has said, Receive what God has done, and Remember God’s faithfulness—pointing us to baptism as a milestone marker and a first step into new life, not the finish line.
In Nehemiah 6, we see how the enemy shifts tactics from opposition to distraction—targeting Nehemiah with manipulation, accusations, and pressure to compromise. This message explores “the power of NO”: staying focused on God’s calling, guarding your integrity, and refusing distractions so the work God has given you can be finished.
Week 7 of our “Made For THIS” series frames opposition not just as “out there” (external enemies), but “in here” (internal conflict—selfishness and greed within God’s people). Nehemiah 5 shows how “friendly fire” can wound a community, and how wise leadership confronts sin, calls for repentance, and models generosity rooted in the fear of God.
In Week 6 of Made for This, we follow Nehemiah 4 as rebuilding moves from “smooth sailing” to real opposition through mocking, criticism, and threats meant to stop the work. Nehemiah shows us how to respond: give it to God, keep building, and when pressure rises, pray and prepare with a clear plan. If you are taking steps forward in faith, family, health, or finances, this message will help you expect resistance without panicking and stay focused on the great work God has put in front of you.
This Sunday in Made For This (Week 5: “All Hands on Deck”), we’ll dig into Nehemiah 3 and discover why what looks like “just a list of names” is actually a blueprint for how God builds big things: organized work, shared ownership, and every person contributing. We’ll be challenged to lead with a servant heart, bring our passion to the mission, and find our place in the work God is doing—because you were never meant to do it alone.
In Week 4 of our Made For This series, we follow Nehemiah (Nehemiah 2:9–18) as he arrives in Jerusalem and turns God-given vision into a practical plan. This message explores why a vision without a plan stays a daydream—and how wise timing, counting the cost, and leading with a clear “why” helps make vision stick and mobilize people to action.
In Week 3 of our Made for This series, we explore Nehemiah 2:1–8 and the call to be faithful in the little things while you wait for clarity about what breaks your heart and where God is leading. Nehemiah’s daily faithfulness positioned him for God’s favor when the moment came, reminding us that character matters and small, unseen choices shape what comes next.

Forward with Friends explores the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people as you move toward God’s calling. Looking at Moses, Aaron, and Hur in Exodus 17, we see how even strong leaders need support, and how the right circle can make the difference between victory and defeat. This message challenges us to choose our team wisely, invest in authentic relationships, and step into community—because moving forward was never meant to be done alone.
Pastor Nathan’s message Moving Forward launches the Forward series by showing that while change is hard, God does not want us stuck in the past. As we prepare to leave Rhema Christian School and step into our new home on Wallace Point Road, we take a moment to look back and remember God’s faithfulness. From the very beginning, He has provided, guided, and shaped our church. The same God who was faithful then is faithful now—leading us forward with trust and expectation.
In the final message of our Finding Jesus series, Pastor Nathan unpacks a powerful truth: God works through broken, imperfect people to accomplish His purposes. Through personal stories and scripture from 2 Corinthians 4, we see how God places His treasure in “jars of clay” – ordinary, flawed individuals – so that His power is made known.

Made New - In Peter’s closing remarks we are reminded to hold onto the promise of God and prepare our hearts and lives for Christ’s return. While we await the Day of the Lord, we must rest in the promise of a new heaven and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. For those who love Christ, there is so much to look forward to.
Our theme for this message is found throughout the pages of scripture. Old and New Testament alike, testify to the reality of Christ’s return as the glorious king that he is. What will that day be like? How should we live in light this moment we are told is coming soon?
This week we continue our study in 2 Peter chapter 2. Peter instructs us concerning false teachers and the means of their deception. Greed and sexual sin are not new strategies, and they certainly didn’t emerge in Las Vegas or the 20th century. These tools of temptation are as old as time, and have been used to seduce people of every generation, by offering what they are unable to deliver.

In this message we will be reminded that God will judge each and every person AND that God will save those who humbly put their faith and trust in Christ.
Did you know that in every group, in every church, and in every age, there are individuals who oppose God's work? In our text this week, Peter is going to remind us of this truth and help us to identify the qualities and attributes of a false teacher. How do we respond? How can we protect ourselves? Buckle up as we learn to discern fakes and snakes.
How can we know if the claims of the Apostles are true? How can we know if Jesus really rose from the dead and offers hope and salvation to all. Is it all just a fairy tale or a myth? In our text today, Peter is going to tell us how we can discover the truth, and where we should turn for the answers we seek.
In this series we are walking verse by verse through the New Testament letter of 2 Peter. In his farewell address, Peter encourages us: to pursue spiritual maturity, to discern false teachers, and to live in light of the second coming of Christ. As we open his letter we are challenged with this question, "are we growing in grace?"

When Jesus said he would build his church, what exactly did he have in mind? He wasn't talking about buildings or programs, he was talking about making disciples. In this message we are going to discover what a disciple is, and how we go about becoming one.

As we read through the Christmas story we recognize that, regardless of how meaningful it is to us, without Jesus the actual story doesn't really matter. It was their connection to Jesus that mattered 2000 years ago. Similarly today, if we want to have the maximum impact with our life we need to trust and say yes to Jesus in order to step out of the ordinary.
There are no perfect trees and no perfect stories. God will work through us in spite of our mistakes. He redeems our failures and accomplishes his purpose. No matter what is in your past ... Christmas reminds us that we can write a new story with Christ.
The Christmas story does not begin with Mary or Joseph, it begins with a promise from God traced through the generations. In this three-week series we will examine the Christmas story through the genealogy of Jesus given to us by Matthew. As we study the family tree of Jesus we discover a faithful God who: invites all to come, redeems our past, and makes the ordinary extraordinary. O come let us adore him.
P3 - Lose the cape!
Everyone wants to be a hero! We desire to be the one who shows up to save the day, to help our loved ones, or to fix the problems. In our attempts to be like Jesus, to better ourselves, and to help others, we can sometimes lose sight of our own need for a saviour.
We are called to be like Jesus ... not to be Jesus. You are not the judge, you are not in control, you are not the saviour of the world ... HE IS.
Part 2 - “Control Issues”
Who doesn't want it? We are constantly tempted to take control of everyone and everything around us, but we do it to our detriment. There are so many things that are not ours to manage and we must learn to trust the one who faithfully holds it all together.
We are called to be like Jesus ... not to be Jesus. You are not the judge, you are not in control, you are not the saviour of the world ... HE IS.
Part 1 - “Don’t Judge!”
These words of Jesus are often quoted, seldom practiced. Even though we have this clear command, many unchurched people still describe “Christians” as judgmental. This reveals that we have yet to fully comprehend and embrace the words of Jesus - who himself is THE GREAT JUDGE. In this message we are going to discover a simple grid that will keep us from overstepping and taking the place of Jesus in judging others.
Like many things in life, getting your generosity journey started is often the hardest part. Too many people assume they will be generous some day, while failing to recognize the opportunities to develop generosity that are
right in front of them. Generosity is not a destination we arrive at; it is a skill, a grace, and an attitude that we build on each day.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving this Sunday it's important to remember that thanksgiving doesn't always happen naturally and that we shouldn't have to rely on positive circumstances for gratitude to be expressed. In this message we'll learn about the various thieves that try to rob us of thanksgiving and some practical ways to neutralize them.
In this series, we are talking about the carrots that most of us spend our lives chasing. Anything that you and I chase after more aggressively than we chase after God is simply Idolatry. What does it look like to live freely? What is freedom and what does spiritual freedom even look like? Why do I know I should live one way, but consistently find myself struggling to make a change?
A relationship with God isn’t just about getting to an eternal destination, but it’s about transformation. As you aspire to leave your old roads, paths, and patterns behind and start new patterns that point to Jesus, where do you find the strength you need to make a change in your life? How do you achieve freedom? What if God has a way to strengthen you to choose what’s best? This week we are talking about the role of the Holy Spirit in our transformation.
Is there an easy way to master your emotions? When you find yourself in a 'situation' is your first response to respond emotionally or rationally?
Think about these for a moment ... What is your response when your boss asks you to work overtime, again, yet they haven't even thanked you for the last time you stayed longer? When you find yourself late for the family photos because your spouse needed to change their outfit one last time to make everything 'perfect', what boils up inside of you?

At Pathway Church we celebrate the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of each month. This week, one of our Elders, Greg Wilson, will look at what this is all about, and how it applies to us today. Today we celebrate Mother's everywhere and honour the role of mother in our lives. Each of us has been significantly impacted by the love of a mother, mother figure, or mentor. In this message we will consider some of the characteristics of a Godly mother we find in the life of Mary -- the mother of Jesus.
What makes Christianity different from any other religion? The biggest difference is that God actually entered our world and became human. If this is true, isn’t it worth breaking from the busyness of your life to listen to what he has to say, to learn from what he did? Don’t you want to lean into the One who understands what it’s like to be human?
What do we do with the millions of stories held by rational, credible people that defy all logic? Belief in miracles is seen by skeptics as something for the ancient mind - the naive and uninformed - and not for modern, scientific, rational people. But what if miracles are actually probable given the universe in which we live? What if the miracles we read about in the accounts of Jesus’ life on earth really did happen? What would those miracles mean to us in our world today? Jesus’ miracles weren’t an end unto themselves. They relayed messages about God, love, humankind, and life.
Jesus was asked to sum up all of the commandments in the Bible with the single greatest command. His response was: Love God with your whole self. So why does it seem so scandalous to live out the command to love God? Contrary to what you might think, the topic of loving God is one of the most neglected ideas in modern Christianity.

The Old Testament chronicles God’s redemptive, sequential activity in history. Our big mouths can be destructive, but they also have the power to build others up. What we say can impact the quality, and even the direction, of the lives of the people around us. How can we use this power for good?
Like a small spark that has the potential to scorch an entire green forest, our tongues are untamable, with the power to control our whole bodies. We have a tool that can be used to build up those around us or tear them down in just a few words. What do we do with that kind of power? We can’t lock it away. But we can, by God’s grace, learn to control it.
We all know what it’s like to be hurt by someone who just couldn’t listen long enough to understand us. Maybe in their attempt to be right, they damaged a relationship that could have been saved with a little patience and curiosity. You’ve probably been on the other side of that coin too. Taking the verbal offense may have won the argument but you lost relationally. What if we didn’t settle for being right, but tried to make things right instead? The longer we listen the more we learn, and the better chance we have of protecting ourselves from our own big mouths

Most of the emotional stuff we cover up and refuse to deal with revolves around loss. We all struggle with expectations that went unmet, goals we failed to achieve, or dreams that were broken. How we handle our loss matters. It impacts the quality of our lives. If we bury those negative emotions alive, they will come back to haunt us . . . and the people we love.
Establishing healthy habits will benefit the relationships you care most about. Others will reap from the emotional habits you sow.
Many of us learned from an early age to hide what we were feeling from other people. We got the message that showing our emotions made us look weak. In time, we became so skilled at hiding what we feel, we even learned to hide our emotions from ourselves. But hiding isn’t a sign of courage or strength. If we want to grow, we have to stop saying, “It’s fine,” and start being honest—with ourselves and others—about what’s going on inside.
The best way to predict your future is to pay attention to where you’re headed. But sometimes it’s easy to get distracted by what’s on the path. The appeal of money, acceptance, or security can lower your defenses and lead you away from the path you want to be on. So is there a way back? How do we change course when we realize that we’ve chosen a path that leads us to what’s appealing instead of what’s ultimately satisfying?
We all start out life with great intentions. But our intentions aren’t good indicators of our destinations. In fact, our direction trumps our intention every time. That’s why we all need to follow someone we trust. Someone who can make our lives better and make us better at life. So we all have a decision to make. If not Jesus, then who? And if not Christianity, then what?
Direction trumps intention every time! Take a listen and see how Pastor Nathan continues to unpack the Principle of the Path.
Most personal problems can't be fixed. We can cope, overcome, or move on, but the past is the past. The good news is you can learn to avoid what can be avoided so there's less to cope with later.
When Herod and Mary found out about the coming of Jesus, they responded very differently. Their responses were based on their focus: focus on self, versus focus on God, and God's plan. Guardrails keep vehicles from straying into dangerous or off limit areas. We need personal guardrails so we don’t stray into areas of life that can harm us or the people we love. If there’s one area in which personal guardrails are most needed but also most resisted, it’s in our relationships.

This Easter Sunday, you’re invited to get to know Jesus and the power of His resurrection. His tomb is empty, and because of his sacrifice, we’re invited out of death into eternity. Celebrate with us as we discover what’s on the other side.
We want it our way and we want it right now! But that’s not the way of God’s kingdom, and it’s not how Jesus chose to announce his arrival into Jerusalem.
