Stay in Touch with Rising Women Leaders:
Have you ever felt judged by someone? Can you remember that pain of feeling misunderstood? Cast out? And separate?
Usually the people in judgement don’t know the whole story. They don’t know the truth of who we are or what we’ve been through. And usually the people who judge, are themselves in some kind of pain.
I imagine you can relate to that truly awful feeling, especially if you identify as highly sensitive. It’s enough to make one want to attack back, or worse, go into hiding or shame.
I’ve been thinking of Mary Magdalene this week, as her Feast day approaches.
Eight years ago Pope Francis declared July 22 as a Feast Day for Mary Magdalene, honoring her role in Jesus’ life as “The Apostle of the Apostles.”
Many of you may know of her as she was named by the Catholic Church long ago - as a prostitute or whore. She was judged, and as what happened to many powerful women, her name was dragged through the mud.
But the truth is she was an absolute equal to Jesus in his ministry.
There came a time, in the first few centuries that the Bible was changed, and stories of powerful women were taken out of it.
And the Church didn’t want people to think that Jesus was human - that he had a beloved, instead they wanted to portray him as this divine being that could only be accessed through the Church.
That way they could keep the power. So any stories depicting Jesus as a partner, a beloved, a lover and husband to Mary, were removed.
Powerful women were seen as a threat in her time. Women were mysterious - they carried the gifts of new life inside their bodies, it was something men were not capable of, or even fully understood.
When women joined together the men felt even more threatened (what is more powerful than a coven of women woven together by the same beliefs?)
So whether it was conscious/intentional or not, the women were systematically shamed.
First they shut down their power center - their womb - by shaming their sexuality.
Then their menstrual cycle was seen as dirty, a burden or a curse.
Bearing children, and giving birth was seen as a punishment.
The women were deemed inferior. A woman was confined to the home.
And sadly, when a woman shuts down in her womb center, she often shuts down her voice.
I believe Mary knew one day though that her name would be restored, that one day thousands of women would awaken and carry on her legacy, of being powerful and embracing that power, as teachers, guides, healers and claiming their place as part of a larger movement.
I believe she knew one day these women would reclaim the power of their menstrual cycle…
The holiness of conception, pregnancy and birth…
And through healing, would find their voice.
But not only that, I believe that she also holds the codes of forgiveness.
She reminds us to feel all the pain of the past, and to release judgement of others, even when we feel judged.
To remember that those who are causing pain are also in deep pain themselves.
I believe she had compassion for those who shamed her, dragged her name through the mud, even for those who wanted to persecute and kill her.
There’s so much we can learn from Mary, and her embodiment.
I wanted to share one of the audio lessons in my program, The Way of the Priestess about her. This weekend, let’s honor Mary, her sacred teachings and all she embodied.
Listen to this recording to learn more about the practice of feeling our pain, a forgiveness process, seeing sexuality as sacred, our bodies as temples and how to embody a consciousness of abundance.
Learn more about these practices in Mercedes Kirkel's channeled book, Mary Magdalene Beckons.

CLAIM YOUR POWER AND VOICE
“Speaking to strangers has been one of my greatest fears that would often shut off my ability to be fully present and prevent me from making new connections with people. I dedicated a good portion of my life trying to overcome this fear by intentionally seeking out experiences that triggered this fear and this process was extremely difficult and the progress felt extremely slow.
After a few sessions with Meredith on healing my voice and the fears associated with that, I now find myself effortlessly interacting with strangers, making new connections and to my greatest surprise I am starting to enjoy mingling in large corporate settings, which would previously terrify me.”

After developing a condition where she began to have an allergic reaction to almost everything she ate, Sena knew something had to change. She had been living a health-focused lifestyle for years after leaving a job at Google and finding the heart medicine of cacao. But years later she would discover her days of drinking cacao, using plant medicines and eating a more vegetarian diet were no longer supporting her body’s needs.
By chance, she won an instagram contest for a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis and learned she was very depleted in certain key minerals our bodies need to thrive. Through changing her diet and supplementing with minerals, Sena began to see all the ways her current life were not supporting her true needs. She bravely left her fiancee, and soon moved from Northern California to her home town in St. Paul, Minnesota.
I love watching my friends evolve and grow, and after witnessing Sena’s transformation to become radiantly nourished, I knew I wanted to hear the whole story. It turns out what may have worked in our 20’s is not always sustainable into our 30’s and beyond…

Sena’s degree in Psychology, career at Google and her subsequent studies of yoga, energy healing, shamanism, plant medicine, tools for building emotional capacity and integration, and Mineral Nutritional Balancing have led her to sit with many questions about what humanity may need at this time to heal from trauma + toxins, strengthen our families and create mineral-rich generations to come. She offers a woman-centric approach to healing with Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis utilizing it as a tool for deepening connection with one's self.

Announcement: Enrollment is now open for the next cohort of the Way of the Priestess. Richard will be one of our guest teachers
When I first discovered that when everyone is talking about “Full moon in Leo” the actual moon in the sky is most often in the constellation of Cancer my mouth dropped! How could this be?
Ever since I was a kid I loved looking at the stars and astronomy was one of my favorite subjects in school. I’ve always asked questions like, “Why are we here? Where did we come from, and what’s the point of all of this?” So many of these questions have begun to be answered through my study of Vedic Astrology, the ancient form of astrology from India.
In Vedic astrology, our chart is a printout of our karma, the lessons our soul came to experience in this life. We bring with us our beneficial and challenging karmas to be lived out and worked through. Our soul has different reasons for incarnating - for example Dharma, Artha (Money, and how we earn it), Kama (Passion, desire) and Moksha (liberation). I’ve been wowed again and again by the accuracy of Vedic Astrology, to predict dates and beneficial phases.
Richard has helped me choose dates to buy a car, beneficial times to marry, has predicted certain moves I’ve had, and so much more.
This episode has been a long time coming! I’ve been referencing what I’ve learned in Vedic astrology more and more in the episodes, so I wanted to sit down with guest expert, Vedic Astrologer Richard Powell. Richard has been a dear friend and teacher of mine since I began studying with him during the beginning of the pandemic.

Richard is a NAMA-certified Doctor of Āyurveda. He is a graduate of the Āyurvedic Institute and has studied extensively under Dr. Vasant Lad in the US and India. He furthered his Ayurveda and Vedic philosophy studies under Dr. Ashwin Shastry of Arogya Niketana in Karnataka, India. Upon returning to the United States, Richard pursued advanced classical Ayurvedic studies in a clinical setting at the Arogya Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, under Kashyapa Fisher for an additional four years. Since 2018, he has been employed at the Ayurvedic Center of Vermont where he gives consultations, teaches, and gives treatments. Complimenting his extensive education in Āyurveda, Richard has been studying and teaching yoga for over 20 years and is an ERYT-500. He is an avid student of Sanskrit, Jyotisha (Vedic Astrology), and Vedic philosophy. After a chance meeting with Hart DeFouw he decided to study in that lineage, most prominently under Penny Farrow, with whom he still studies.
In addition to his studies in the Vedic sciences, Richard is a Reiki Master and is an avid practitioner of Aikido, the Japanese martial art. His passion for earth healing meets his devoted studies in physical, mental, and spiritual health as he was formerly a permaculture designer and educator and founded the nonprofit Orlando Permaculture in Orlando, Florida. Richard believes that by aligning with nature and the Divine we will find not only our own optimal health but also greater peace and balance in the world. He brings his comprehensive experiences and education into his consultations with his clients to empower them to find fulfillment, peace, and healing.
I’m back to podcasting! I know it’s been about 8 months since my last episode and I have missed you all. I have just been navigating the reality of being ia new mother, having more limited time now, amidst navigating the identity shifts and transformations of becoming a mother.
I’m so excited to share my conversation with Jane, a true voice and channel for the heart of the Holy One. You may remember Jane from earlier episodes: episode 118 - Navigating Change and the Power of Listening, and episode 128 where I shared the story of my daughter’s birth.
Jane and I have also had these parallel paths, like the passing of birds in the sky, she moved to kauai the month I was getting ready to leave, being pregnant and desiring to be closer to family. And now, Jane being halfway through her pregnancy is deciding the same.

Jane Mayer is a medicine woman, creative, doula, and guide to the unseen realms, who delights in supporting humans and Earth in coming fully alive. Alongside supporting private clients, she writes, records and performs music, and guides a school for creativity and awakening.
A keeper of song and a lover of mythos, her practice is borne of the weaving of indigenous medicine from Peru, Hawaii and Ireland, the Christian mysticism of her home in the deep South, and a depth of knowledge in the nervous system, subtle body, womb healing, and the somatic experience of awakening.
She holds deep trust in the wild intelligence of nature to guide all of Creation, and orients others to their deeper nature and innate gifts with sound, myth, dreams, plant, energy medicine and somatic integration.
She is devoted to the heart of all things, sacred union, and the liberation of all beings. To learn more, visit iamjanemayer.com.
This Fall I participated in a weekly new parent-baby group in Sebastopol, CA with Kerry Ingram. I met Kerry years ago when she found one of my self-care guide downloads and invited me to be a wise woman to visit her mom and baby groups. I remember thinking I would love to join something like that to meet other mothers and babies if I ever had a child one day… and about six years later it happened!
Kerry has been supporting new mothers, babies and families for the past decade in CA and now is sharing her curriculum to create a ripple effect of sharing more of these nourishing postpartum groups around the world.
Care for the next generation really does start with the mother, and the more we can surround families with support in early postpartum the easier it will be to interrupt harmful narratives and create networks of love, care and support when we need it most.

It’s an honor to have Becca Piastrelli back on Rising Women Leaders. It’s been a few years (and a lot of transformation) since our last conversation (episode 10!). We’ve both transitioned from maiden to mother, and our lives and businesses have transformed along with us. In this conversation we share the real, the raw, and the beautiful of being initiated into mothers: Becca shares of her journey of the last 2.5 years after birthing her daughter, her journey with delayed postpartum depression (and rage) at 18 months, how she has done her best to recreate the village we all long for, what it looks like to untangle from patriarchy and letting go the need to always do more, and how we can honor and ritualize the powerful rite of passage of shifting from maiden to mother.

It’s an honor to have Renee Linnell back on Rising Women Leaders!
In Renee’s latest book, Still on Fire, she shares stories of magic, miracles, travel and romance… from traveling over 50 countries, love affairs with men half her age, being rescued by angels, getting stranded at 22,000 feet in the Himalayas, Renee takes us on a wild adventure in her book, sharing soul-soothing wisdom she gained along the way.
Where her first book, The Burn Zone was an exploration of what happens when we don't listen to our Inner Guidance, Still on Fire is an exposition of what happens when we do.
May this conversation support you to remember who you truly are and reignite a passion for being alive on Earth at this time.
“Freedom, I have discovered, is letting go and jumping into the stream of life. Being willing to be uncomfortable and trusting that divine choreography will always lead us to the next right unfolding. It is looking for the good in everything we gaze upon or stumble upon… finding the miracles in each moment instead of the grievances.”

What began as writing for catharsis in 2013—as she struggled to regain her sanity after being brainwashed in a Buddhist cult—turned into her first memoir, The Burn Zone: A Memoir (She Writes Press, 2018). It was an honor to sit down for this heart opening conversation with a personal mentor and friend, Porsha Beed.
It was just before the pandemic when I first met Porsha in a song circle in Sebastopol, CA. I was touched by the songs her and co-founder Aaron Johnson shared with our group and how effortlessly they brought us into our hearts. I attended their daylong anti-racism workshop and went on to work privately with Porsha to move through my own grief around racism, look at my own blind spots as a white woman with privilege and come into deeper alignment with how I show up for my work, friends and larger community.
I think a lot of white people do end up (sadly) avoiding relationships with people of other races because of the shame and guilt that often arises. When we focus on the fear and guilt, we take the focus away from truly getting to know and caring for person of another race.
Porsha is here and reaching for us to heal this divide. May this conversation open a door for us all to look within, to heal, and to create a better future for all the generations to come.

This week I sat down with dear friend Jane Mayer to share the story of my daughter's birth. She was born March 15, 2022 at our home in Boulder, Colorado. In this story I share about everything from unexpected emotions during pregnancy, what I did to prepare for birth, practices to help baby be in the most optimal position for labor, the story of the birth itself as well as lessons from the first six weeks postpartum. After spending years preparing for motherhood and holding space for women to heal their womb and their own birth stories it's such an honor to share our birth story with you today.

As I am about to cross the threshold into motherhood, I sat down to speak with mother, ceremonialist, and birthkeeper Gabriella Cerince. (You can also listen to our last episode from 2020 on Ceremony, Seasons, & the Modern Witch right here).
Gabriella shares her birth story (with her now 6-month old daughter,) and the fine line one walks between fear, trust & intuition in the process, and how she was invited to set boundaries both during and after birth as she stepped into her new role as Mother.
Gabriella has great reverence for mothers, women and mothers-to-be and is working towards a world where our direct line of connection to our mothers and Earth mother can be healed and tended to. This conversation reminds of connecting to our innate power as women as we walk through potent initiations in a full-spectrum life…

After hearing Morgan’s story of choosing to donate and redistribute 100% of her inherited family wealth, I knew I wanted to speak with her. In this conversation we discuss what it’s like to face the shadows of our ancestral lineages, ask deeper questions of what our family’s part was in injustices in our country and how we can use that knowledge to atone and repair.
Morgan is one of thousands of young people feeling called to redistribute inherited wealth back into the hands of indigenous and black people and organizations across the country… Her story calls us to consider that maybe true happiness is really found when we focus on others’ happiness rather than just our own…

Stay in Touch with Rising Women Leaders:
The timing of this conversation couldn’t have been more perfect. After living eight months on the island of Kauai and deepening my connection to the Earth and plant spirit world, I had the opportunity to sit down with writer, teacher, and earth intuitive, Asia Suler. I had just had my first dream of the island after returning to the mainland, where I greeted the ocean and it greeted me back with a big splash on my hand. I could truly feel the sentience of the plants and the land in the dream that I had been in such close relationship with.
Have you ever experienced anything like this? Feeling the aliveness of everything around you? Communicating with the unseen realms?
In this episode Asia shares her own journey of communication with the Earth and spirits of the plants. She shares about their message of self-compassion and how they work through us on behalf of our evolvement and healing.

There's an intense amount of pressure we can put on ourselves to achieve, to do, and be productive. How can we know when it's ok to rest?
Even in spiritual communities, it's so easy to get stuck in the cycle of constant productivity, as if our self-worth was dependent on it. How do we break the cycle?
In this episode Meredith Rom shares a channeled message from source to remind you that you're not here to be a machine. You're a human with feelings and depth. Take ten minutes to let go into the abyss and remember who you came here to be.

It was an honor to sit down with Jane Mayer, a true voice and channel for the heart of the Holy One. In this conversation, Jane shares about her journey through the hallways of darkness to find her way back to the light of presence and union.
Years ago she found herself unhappily married, struggling with an autoimmune disease and just coming off a failed round of in-vitro fertilization. She was crying, raging, and in deep, deep grief and paralysis. Her soul was screaming at her: it wanted her to change everything. But in the face of such a request, is it any wonder she didn’t want to listen?
Is it any wonder so many of us don’t want to listen?
Jane now offers multidimensional guidance and song for those who long to remember their True Selves. This conversation leads us from darkness to light, with insights from indigenous wisdom, and how listening may just be the deepest medicine we need now in the western world. We also discuss what it means to truly trust on a spiritual path and how to make sense of all the big changes humanity is now facing (COVID, Climate change for example).
Be sure to stay all the way to the end to receive the codes Jane channels through song, in service to our pathway Home.
In this episode we discussed:
“On personal and societal levels, our ability to thrive hinges on whether or not we commit to deeply listening. I fully believe that this is the frontier of our generation. Indigenous people around the world are masterful at these practices—and as a result, they live harmoniously with nature, avoid many of the modern, nervous-system diseases of the west, and maintain healthy communities. In fact, many indigenous wisdom keepers believe that all mental illness is a result of soul sickness—of disconnection from our inner voices.” ~ Jane Mayer

Finding intimacy with others begins with becoming intimate and honest with ourselves. In this episode with Kendra Cunov, we discuss the difficult habitual patterns we can get into as women seeking comfort and validation from our relationships.
After years of dating men who were not fully available to commit to partnership, Kendra decided to take a break from dating and men altogether. She knew this was what she needed to get to the bottom of what was having her stay in deeply unfulfilling dynamics. She made a commitment to get in right relationship with The Masculine, to figure out what she really wanted in a relationship, and to liberate her own desire to love and be loved.
Since then, she has worked with thousands of men, women & couples in the areas of embodiment, intimacy, and true self-expression. She also leads a program for women to embark upon a similar journey she went on, called The No-Man Diet.
In this conversation we also discuss the energetics behind our actions, and be sure to listen to the end because I love her response when asked, “What advice do you have for a woman feeling dissatisfied with her life right now?”

I truly believe deepening our connection to our body’s wisdom and direct connection to source and intuition is a key tool for us in our ascension process. When we are tapped in, tuned in and able to decipher our own intuitive messages, we know how to feel, love and make empowered choices on our path for the highest good of all.
I sat down with Jessica Reid to discuss intuition, connecting to spirit guides and channeling. Is it something we all have, or something we can cultivate? It’s a joy to have Aimée Cartier back on the Rising Women Leaders podcast to share her 4-part Getting Answers process. As SO MANY things in our lives feel unknown and changing, we are often left with so many unanswered questions. On all levels it seems clear that changes are needed in order to deal with the current challenges we are facing– from our health, to our livelihoods, to racial inequities, to climate change. New solutions are needed.
How do we get those answers? How do we get those personal answers for ourselves during this unique moment in history we are living? Questions like, “What is the best way for me to stay healthy?”, “How do I create financial stability for my family?” Or “How do we continue to move forward, discern, find clarity and solutions in a world on fire?”
Aimée suggests it is absolutely possible and that furthermore it is not that hard. In this episode she teaches a very simple process that anyone can use anywhere to get answers to the questions they are facing.

Ever since I was a little girl I sat with existential questions like, “What’s really happening here?” “Why are we doing this?” “What’s the point of it all?”
I didn’t have many people to turn to for answers, until finally after college, I stepped on to a path of spirituality, meditation and yoga. I was led to deeper insight and intuitive wisdom within my body, where I began to remember and ascend.
But it really wasn’t until I went to Egypt two years ago that I began to have an inner knowing that what we learned in history and science class in school about human evolution and Earth is simply not the whole story. Being inside the Great pyramids and temples, feeling the frequencies and beholding the incredible mystery of those lands led me to search for answers. I just knew there was no way those ancient cities were built with human hands. I knew there was a higher, much more evolved influence from the stars.
I began learning about sacred sites of the world (such as Stone Henge and the Mayan Pyramids). I read books of people’s past life memories in Ancient Egypt and dove into the esoteric histories of Atlantis and Lemuria.

It was in a field in Sebastopol that I first cuddled up in a sleeping bag with about thirty other people to receive the wisdom and stories of Stargazer Li while beholding the vast night sky, probably one of my first times really taking it in since I was a child.

We talk about finding our purpose, the real “invitation” behind manifesting our desires and how following our natural interests and passions lead to deeper fulfillment in life than something we could have ever planned by ourselves.
In this episode we discussed:
Stay in Touch with Li:
Stargazer Li is known for eloquently Conversing with the Universe.
Through sharing stories under the stars, her cosmic updates and much-loved podcast that tell the unfolding story of these transformational times (and her deliciously potent essence elixirs,) she continually invites us to meet this moment well.

In this episode we talk with natural beekeeper Ariella Daly about the connection between the honey bees and the sacred feminine. Join us as we dive into the mysteries of Priestesses of Melissa and Delphi, the power of beauty and the natural world, the role the honeybees are playing on our planet, healing the womb and our bodies, eros and sacred sexuality and how to connect more deeply with and be a steward for the bees and for Mother Earth.
In this episode we discussed:
Stay in Touch with Ariella:

Ariella Daly is a natural beekeeper living in Northern California. She fell in love with bees in 2010, when a swarm of wild bees moved into the wall behind her bed. Soon after, she began top bar and warré beekeeping.
Ariella teaches and speaks about natural beekeeping, the honey bee organism, and the human relationship to bees. She believes that through learning to listen to the bees, we are learning to heal our own disconnect from the natural world.
Her work with bees is also informed by a decade studying European bee-shamanism with the Lyceum in England. This tradition holds the honey bee as its central motif and ally. Ariella works with bees on both a practical, oneiric and intuitive level, encouraging people to explore the world of bees through the use of all of our senses.
By this time, I imagine a lot of you are “sheltering in place” at home because of the coronavirus. Like many of you, I’ve navigated the ups, the downs and the fears of these uncertain times. My heart is with you. As I’ve gone through all the feelings, coming back to my center through meditation practices, I’ve begun to find the gifts of what is being asked of us right now. Here are 8 messages I’ve received that I feel are the true gifts and invitations of this time…
This conversation gave me chills.

Ayana Young is a podcast and radio personality specializing in intersectional environmental and social justice, deep ecology and land-based restoration. Graduating summa cum laude with an undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University including a double major in Art History and Theology and a minor in Philosophy, as well as education through Columbia University in Ecology and Eastern Religions and Restoration Ecology at the University of Victoria, Young has a strong academic background at the intersections of ecology, culture, and spirituality. She was studying at Columbia when the Occupy Wall Street movement began and amid the burgeoning resistance in Zuccotti Park, she co-created the Environmental Working Group.
Post-graduation, dividends from her early career allowed Young to conserve 500 acres of coast redwood and salmon habitat in Northern California, where she has been living for over five years. Living for the first years, in a tent with no electricity or running water while she established a homestead, and broke ground on a native species nursery and research center, including the establishment of the 1 Million Redwoods Project, which was acclaimed as the most backed farm project in Kickstarter history.
A budding filmmaker, Young is no stranger to the medium having spent her childhood as a prolific working actor, working alongside the likes of Steven Spielberg and Meryl Streep. Young’s debut film, When Old Growth Ends is an ode to the complex interweaving of the irreplaceable Tongass National Forest during its last stand as a distinctly wild place in Southeast Alaska. As Director, Producer, Narrator and Featured Cast Member of the film, Young wore many hats in midwifing this compelling and poetic story of struggle and beauty surrounding the Tongass National Forest.
Young leans into her vast experience on the other side of the camera, along with her intersectional approach to ecological restoration to guide her process as the Founder and Executive Director of millennial media organization and nonprofit For The Wild. While I was preparing for my recent webinar, The Role of the Priestess in the Modern Age, it became clear to me that there were 5 core wounds that have consistently held back the women I’ve worked with from activating their soul gifts and creating world change.
This conversation was originally aired on the Vital Mother Podcast with Jillian Anderson.
What came through in our conversation felt so powerful that I wanted it to reach more women and decided to share it with you today on Rising Women Leaders.

Did you know that almost every person on this planet, has experienced shame around their sexuality at some point in their lives? Shame makes an imprint on our sexuality, whether we realize it or not. Our shame story creates conscious and subconscious blocks within us, disconnecting us from our precious, sensitive and sacred sexuality. When we’re disconnected from our sacred sexuality, we disconnect from our truest love and acceptance of Self.
Our guest today, Alexxa Latta helps people clear these blocks. She helps them access their sensuality; come alive through the senses, activate passion, healing, and connection to themselves and their partners.
This episode is full with feminine wisdom, as well as an invitation to fully claim the gifts we each have to bring to this world (as taboo or scary they may seem!)

Since having this conversation with Halo I have shown up first thing in the morning to my meditation seat for 20 minutes a day. Something about her presence, devotion and knowledge of Taoism and Tantra re-inspired me into a consistent daily practice. (Thank you Halo!!)
In this conversation we discussed feminine and masculine polarity, as well as how to harness those energies for greater balance, ease and grace. When we set in place a structure (the masculine), our more feminine qualities can be more fully expressed... This conversation is full of gems, especially if you wish to deepen on a devotional path.
In this episode we discussed:
Stay in Touch with Halo:
Halo Seronko is the founder and lead instructor of the international and online school Shakti Temple Arts; a school with the mission to re-awaken the feminine traditions of spiritual pursuit such as Temple Dance, Classical Tantra Yoga and the Taoist Feminine Arts.
Living between the holy land of India and the USA for the past 10 years, Halo has been bridging the worlds by bringing ancient traditions of Shakti embodiment to the West. While in India she studies Classical Indian Temple Dance, Tantra, Yoga and goes on extensive pilgrimages to sacred sites of the Goddess. The mysteries of the feminine and of the womb have been her guiding lights upon her quest for deeper and deeper embodied understanding of the Goddess, and thus she has been diving deep into ancient practices of Shakti cultivation from various traditions for the past decade.
Shakti Temple Arts is Halo’s offering to the rise of the Divine Feminine. Through time tested lineages of embodiment, consciousness, health and beauty practices, Shakti Temple Arts offers keys to unlocking the soul's yearning for expression of it's innate divinity in THIS life, and in THIS body.
Halo believes that Temple is a vessel for the divine be it an ancient architectural structure, or our very bodies, breath and consciousness. Temple is a way of life that acknowledges the sacred in all that is, and offers reverence and awe in the form of beauty, and the cultivation of awareness.
Halo has brought these sacred arts around the globe online and in live retreats in India, Guatemala, Australia, Greece, Costa Rica and the West coast of the USA.
There’s still time to join us on the Big Island Retreat + for our new free webinar, *The Role of the Priestess in the Modern Age*

After touring for years around the world with Nahko & Medicine for the People, Hope Medford decided to have a baby. In this episode, Hope and I discuss her journey of becoming a doula and midwife, what it has been like to attend over 450 births and her experience of performing in front of thousands as drummer for Nahko & Medicine for the People.
"There's something about being with a woman giving birth that just doesn't even compare to performing on stage in front of thousands of people" In this episode we discussed:
Stay in Touch with Hope:
Website: www.hopemedford.com
Facebook: www.facebook.com/Hope-Medford
Youtube: www.youtube.com/user/TheFlipside29
Hope is a creative force.Following spirit and serving humanity as her guides, Hope has walked many paths flowing from & returning to the same source.
Hands in the dirt, beating drumskin, brushing color across canvas, holding a newborn babe, or gathering the tribe; Hope thrives when steeped in raw, fresh energy pulsing around her. She is a visionary who sees the positive direction she wants the world to move toward, and takes the steps she can to manifest it.
Touring Internationally and playing drums with Nahko and Medicine for the People since they were first heard of, Hope and Nahko shared a chemistry and frequency which catalyzed Medicine for the People to catapult from busking in the streets to performing in front of well over a hundred thousand people in a few short years. Nahko's music has a message that served as a call to the global conscious community for justice, truth talking, and positive social change. We were a part of a very special movement. Our music was bringing people together who were healing and wanting to make the world better.
To Hope, that was one more step in her journey.
Before that, Hope was a midwife, assisting over 450 births, primarily holistic home and water births, in Africa, Bali, and the US. Protecting the next generation has always been sacred and close to her heart. Birth is the moment a fresh soul enters the world and a woman transforms though an extraordinary rite of passage to become a mother. Hope has always felt honored to spend endless hours by a woman's side in her most primal and powerful birthing moments. The humility and awe in holding humanity in its first breaths have given Hope a deeper connection, compassion, and grounding in life. This has inspired her to work to raise awareness about families' birth options and the importance of their choices. Hope created Artemis Healing Arts education program and taught natural birth classes in Peru, Brazil, Bali and at Findhorn Ecovillage, in Scotland, as well as in the US.
For Hope, the drum has always been a tool of spirit. Her first teacher was Babatunde Olatunje, who encouraged her to keep playing, and to always play with love. Drums have taken her around the world; Hope studied with teachers in Brazil, Peru, and West Africa. She shared the drum with children in India and taught rhythm to youth groups in Guatemala. Hope has taught over 2,500 students of all ages; she uses drums to facilitate empowering women's voices in workshops and confidence building with at-risk youth groups. Drums are a powerful connection to our ancestors. As ancient healers have always known, when infused with positive vibrations & intentions, drums are potent medicine.
Hope's connection to nature began as a child and continues to flourish. Hope co-founded an urban non-profit permaculture education site, Tryon Life Community Farm. Hope coordinated the education program for years, teaching sustainability techniques such as natural building, permaculture gardening, social ecology, and the arts. Hope participated in the Global peace walk for 8 years. She later served for 3 years on the Board of Directors of Honor the Earth, the environmental justice non-profit protecting indigenous lands in North America, founded by Winona La Duke and supported by the Indigo Girls. Most recently, Hope has allied with the protectors of Mauna Kea, who currently have been standing in peaceful protest for months to prevent development on sacred indigenous land in Hawaii.
Much of her passion is expressed in rich color and paint. Painting since she was a child, Hope has experimented with nearly every artistic medium she could get her hands on. As a result, many of her works are mixed media, often incorporating wood, feather, stone, metal, pencil, marker, watercolor, and acrylic - integrating them into delicate lines and powerful bold swaths of color to tell a story of women's power, strength and beauty. Creating images of empowered women has been a life long devotion; in response to being raised in a world where women have not been treated fairly or equally to men, and the earth has been ravaged due to this imbalance between masculine and feminine forces.. Her art is currently shown at the beautiful Wild Heartist Gallery in Hilo, Hawaii.
Hope's Musical Journey continues forward, she has recorded 3 solo albums, and her sound has been described as 'hypnotic world beat with maternal soul'. Recently when Hope evacuated Hawaii in the 2018 lava flow, she temporarily relocated to the Blue Ridge Mountains where she began a new musical project, a trio of women called CedarWing, described as 'world soul folk with a groove'. CedarWing recently recorded their first album which has not yet been released! ...wait for it!!
Hope co-founded MAnaFest music, arts & education festival in Hawaii in 2015, inspired by the transition from touring full time with Nahko, to giving birth to her daughter. While playing at festivals across the world, Hope recognized the imbalance of the number professional male performers to female. She is committed to helping women find their voice and share it! MAnaFest is a festival that honors the sacred feminine; it is run by women, featuring over 25 female performers, 25 workshops led by women, 5 female live artists, dancers, ceremony, red tent, grandmothers council and more- all on the beautiful grounds of tropical permaculture retreat center and spa! MAnaFest is inclusive of all people, everyone is welcome. There is a grandfathers council and purple tent to honor men and gender fluid community. 2020 Clear Vision is the theme of this upcoming 5th annual MAnaFest Jan 24, 25 & 26 - Join us! (manafestival.org)
Hope loves to teach and give back to her community. Join her on the Big Island of Hawaii for one of her upcoming juicy workshops:
Raising Our Voices - 3 day music empowerment workshop, teaching alongside professional songstresses Mama Crow and Mary Isis, Jan 28, 29 & 30 (starting after MAnaFest)
Wild & Natural Birth - 5 day DONA certified doula training co-facilitaed with Jesse Remer, international DONA certified trainer, Feb 19-23rd and

Available for a Limited Time: Healing the Womb: 1:1 Sessions to Heal the Past and Activate Your Manifestation Power: http://www.risingwomenleaders.com/womb
A few weeks ago I visited Maui, considered the Sacral Chakra of the islands and heard the voice of Gaia say, “Heal their wombs to heal the planet.”
And I realized there’s a skill I have that I haven’t been sharing with you.
When I began offering somatic healing modalities in my work, I discovered almost all the women I was working with had experienced some form of sexual abuse or trauma related to the womb in their life.
I saw how when we addressed those old wounds and brought love and healing to the memories, these women were so much more confident, excited and ready to move forward with their dreams.
Over the past three years I’ve worked with women who’ve experienced traumatic hospital birth experiences, abortion, miscarriage, and physical or sexual abuse. As we healed these memories, both big and small, I watched as they began to shine ever more brightly.
I now know 1 out of every 2 women has experienced some form of sexual abuse or womb violation in her life.
These experiences directly affect our ability to feel like we matter, we are worthy, and that what we have to say is of importance. It hinders our self-esteem, makes us want to play small and hide away from the world.
As a certified Matrix Re-imprinting practitioner, EFT facilitator, trained coach, initiated Priestess and compassionate listener, it is my mission to reach more women who are holding on to these difficult memories that are holding them back from taking courageous steps and living at their highest potential.
Some challenges you may be experiencing if you you’ve had a violation:
When the womb is violated and we feel a trauma we often disconnect from this sacred power center because there is just too much pain or shame.
Do you struggle with feeling safe to receive or experience pleasure?
Do you yearn to feel more confident?
To have better boundaries?
To tap into your feminine power of creation?
To deeply believe in yourself?
In the month of November I’m offering 1:1 sessions to
HEAL PAST TRAUMA + ACTIVATE YOUR MANIFESTATION POWER - learn more at http://risingwomenleaders.com/womb
How often have you created a whole conversation in your mind ~ a conversation that hasn’t even happened?
In this episode, Baelyn and I talk about the craziness of the mind. In particular, the fear, the illusions and projections we create that so often lead to separation.
To move from a thought to an action, the nature of the mind can create such a drain of our energy. That’s why Baelyn begins every morning with meditation and tea ceremony.
In this week’s episode we talk about Cha Dao, or The Way of Tea, a way of being ~ slowing down, finding clarity and intention while living with devotion, discipline and focus.
We discuss what it takes to cut through the chatter of the mind and remember true stillness. Baelyn also shares how she navigates work relationships, sisterhood and vulnerability. This conversation is truly full of so many gems… we hope you enjoy tuning in!
“Tea is a plant teacher, a spirit of Nature, manifested through this Leaf and awakened by hot water. Used in ceremony, it is a dance between the elements, a sensory exploration of presence, where everything is connected by space.” ~ Baelyn
In this episode we discussed:
Stay in Touch with Baelyn
Website
Baelyn Elspeth grew up in Los Angeles studying dance from the time she was 4. This affinity with movement provided a doorway into her relationship with spirit, health and the body. She has since journeyed into deeper connections with Self through studying Yoga, Tea and Meditation. Over the years, her path has evolved toward deepening her relationship to Mother Earth and the Sacred Feminine. Holding space with song and rhythm have also become key elements in her offerings. Whether serving traditional Tea Ceremonies, or holding ritual space through sound and drum, for her, all these paths are ways of being a vessel for spirit and consciousness.
Currently Baelyn travels and devotes her time to sharing and facilitating sacred spaces for communities all around the world, bringing the medicine of Tea and Ceremony wherever she goes. She primarily focuses on collaborative efforts and so along side the offerings of other practitioners, she holds retreats, workshops, and is a council member of the annual women’s gathering Spirit Weavers. She also curates and nurtures a permanent home for Tea, Ceremony, and the Sacred Arts at AY^AM in Playa Del Rey, CA and Santa Fe, NM.
Have you ever wondered why empaths and narcissists are often so attracted to each other? Or what it means when people talk about co-dependency?
In this conversation today with Leah Morris we dive into the topic of relationships - especially the kinds of unhealthy patterns so many of us can fall into. We discuss what they are, how to avoid them, and also how to attract the kind of love that is deep, true and long-lasting…
In this episode we discussed:
Stay in touch with Leah
Leah Morris is a Relationship Transition Coach, founder of Life Remade, published writer, and speaker. She helps people to authentically process their feelings, thoughts, and emotions in order to give them a deeper understanding of themselves and others.
Her 1:1 work consists of 3 main areas: relationship trauma recovery, communication skills enhancement, and empowered personal development.
She specializes in helping her clients gain a solid sense of Self Worth, develop unshakable intuitive Confidence, and heal after emotional Heartbreak so they can find the deep and meaningful connections that they’ve been yearning for.
From Leah: “Through my personal journey, I've experienced what brokenness feels like. It's dark and small. I lived a life of being "powerless," placing my self-worth in anything but myself, wanting others to love me more than I was loving me, giving up my whole life to play a supporting role in everyone else's... just to have it all fall apart. When I finally woke up, I found myself feeling exhausted, alone, and purposeless. It's here where I’ve gained insights that have allowed me to step into my own power, to trust myself so much that my actions reflect my truth, to know the value of deeply listening to my inner voice and finding connection with others, and to not let my fears lead my life.
When we lose touch with our instincts, everything else doesn't seem to make much sense. Through my creativity and innovative perspective, I help guide you to discover new ways to redirect you toward YOUR dreams. My ability to focus on you, read between the lines, ask the right questions and offer sincere advice and feedback comes from an insatiable curiosity and commitment to your personal development. I know how it feels to finally come out of the dark, and it's my life's passion to get you there too.”

Her story of burning out after hustling her way to the top is all too common… I feel her story and message are deeply needed at a time where so many of us still struggle with pushing beyond our limits.
May this conversation remind you to slow down and integrate the power of the feminine into your life…
In this episode we covered:
Lee’s story of how facial paralysis and cystic breakouts led her to her healing journey

I recently heard Elizabeth Gilbert speak on the topic of creativity … and since then I’ve been thinking A LOT about how creativity supports us in feeling healthier and more alive. The universe is constantly creating (think about the plants, stars, asteroids, really the whole universe is constantly shifting, changing, growing, evolving and being creative) so when WE are being in creative, it’s like we are aligning with the natural laws of the universe. It’s turning out to be an incredible antidote to depression, grief, illness and anxiety, among other ailments.
It was so fun to dive into this topic with artist Devon Walz talk about the rich topic of creativity on this week’s episode…
In this episode we discussed:
Stay in Touch with Devon:
Devon Walz is a professional artist, muralist, mentor and dreamer.
She believes that creativity and beauty are powerful medicine for us all and sees her own art as the most essential way to know herself. Through her colorful and etheric-feeling abstract paintings, she explore the ways that emotion, energy and form collide.
Devon mentors developing creatives along their path and helps them to realize their most honest expression. Her approach is one that combines practical strategy, emotional healing and deep love.
In addition to mentorship and online courses, she hosts 1-on-1 painting weekends (for artists and non-artists alike) to make a mess, break out of perfectionism and discover their soul’s language in her Southern California art studio.
Her work has been licensed by companies big and small, and is held by collectors around the globe.

I’ve been doing this work for a long time now and last week I was doing a client review of what’s happened in the last year for my past clients in the world of feminine entrepreneurship… I was happily surprised to discover that many of them have been able to
I’ve been so busy helping THEM grow their dream businesses that I haven’t taken the time to share with YOU how you can earn more money and finally put yourself out there to do the work your heart has been calling out for you to do.
For that, I apologize.
All the time I’m hearing from women that they're struggling to get by in their business, that they deeply feel they have a calling, a sacred mission to fulfill, but are having to work multiple jobs and burning out trying to make it all work…
…A phone call with someone who lacks the confidence to put herself out there and share her message.
…A Facebook message from someone who is afraid to raise her prices because she’s afraid no one will sign up.
…A DM from a sister who’s been spending her time growing her instagram following but behind-the-scenes is not earning anywhere near the kind of income she would like to make.
The truth is, you CAN earn more money AND live life on your own terms (with a flexible schedule, time for family, self-care, and spiritual practices)… It’s just that I haven’t been focusing on helping YOU with those kinds of results.
I’ve been waking up to the fact that if ANYONE in the world is meant to be earning more money, it is spiritual, heart-centered women like you.
That’s where we need more power. More femininity in leadership. More women owning and earning their worth.
And you know what?
When you are owning the true value of what you have to offer, you will actually have more TIME to focus on spreading your sacred work, your voice, your message, your soul gifts in such a bigger way…
So many more people will benefit from what you have to share.
So even though earning great money is part of it, underneath that, I really want you to make the impact your soul came here to make.
To break through the fears.
The self-doubts.
The limiting beliefs.
The old stories saying you can’t.
It’s time to honor your voice. Your soul callings.
No more hiding.
I know I’ve been offering value to you through the podcast, and I’ll keep doing that, but I’m realizing it’s not the same as taking you by the hand to make the shifts I think you would really love to see in your life.
No more.
I’ve opened up some time in the next week to speak to a select number of committed women about how they can increase their impact and income without letting go of their spiritual and feminine values.
There’s no charge for this and it’s totally free.
But it’s not for everyone.
Here are the kinds of women I can help:
If you’re tired of playing small in your business and you’re ready to start seeing results, then I’m making the time to show you how to get there.

I love connecting with women supporting others to come into the power of their voice, and this week’s podcast guest, Jumakae is one of those women. We go deep into talking about what we’ve witnessed supporting women to break free from old stories and limiting beliefs and what happens when a woman begins to see her challenges and difficulties as a source of empowerment to activate and inspire others.
This conversation is rich with insight on the power of storytelling, public speaking, releasing trauma and owning the power of our voice. I hope you enjoy it!

As an entrepreneur I have had to “look under the hood” when it comes to my own relationship to money. It took time to learn how to charge my worth, receive and accept money in my life, and actually educate myself on all the things I didn’t know.
The truth is, once you heal the old stories you've been carrying around money, it feels really awesome to earn it, to save it, and to spend it on things you love. I feel super proud of how far I've come in this area of my life and so grateful to see money as just another form of how I can nurture, give and receive.
It was an honor to welcome Lara-Rose to the Rising Women Leaders podcast to share her own money story, and how we can take a step back and consider how our choices with money will affect all those who come after us. She offers her wisdom on how you can live with intention and how coming into alignment with your relationship to money will truly affect all areas of your life.

Many of us can easily get lost in self-doubt and “what-if’s” when we take a step into unfamiliar territory. Kelly Smith was no different when she was faced with a decision to move from a progressive city to a small town in Missouri with her husband while he finished medical school. She knew she was faced a choice - either she could be a victim to her circumstances and let her inner critic voices get the best of her, or she could make something truly amazing from the experience she had been given.
Kelly went on to start the first yoga studio in the small town where many thought yoga was against their religion. She was able to rise up in spite of adversity and create a thriving space for people to align their mind, bodies and hearts. And most importantly, along the way, she learned to believe in herself as a teacher.
In this episode Kelly shares how to move beyond fear and doubt to truly believe in yourself, your gifts and what it is you are here to share.
In this episode we discussed:
Stay in Touch with Kelly:
Kelly Smith is the founder of Yoga For You yoga method and school and a master trainer. She is also a podcaster herself (she has a guided meditation podcast) and she started her first business when she was 23 years old.
She works with empowering women and helping people become the best versions of themselves through yoga. She believes the mind is the most powerful thing you possess and there is nothing in this world holding you back except for you! After a life time of telling herself lies and believing that she wasn't good enough, smart enough, talented enough, special enough, thin enough, or just plain enough, she took a long hard look in the mirror and in her heart and decided it was time she connected with who she truly was, got out of her own way and started to finally live. Through yoga and meditation she got a glimpse of who she truly was, and it changed everything.
She has dedicated her life to teaching soul-searchers how to master their minds and connect with their true selves so they can live an abundant and authentic life.

If you find yourself listening to the Rising Women Leaders podcast, you are most certainly part of a global movement happening right now of restoring femininity to her rightful place in perfect balance and divine union with the masculine.
On today’s episode, I sat down with Amy Stanton, co-author of The Feminine Revolution to discuss this movement and what she has learned about embracing and awakening our feminine nature in a patriarchal world.
In this episode we discussed:
Conditioning we see in society around femininity and masculinity
Amy’s story owning a business and growing her career in a masculine dominated society
Magnetism and feminine/masculine polarity in romantic relationships
Amy’s new book, The Feminine Revolution and how it came to be
The writing process of the book and the journey of working with a co-author
Key take-aways Amy learned and embraced about femininity through her conversations and research for the book
How women can own their feminine power
“Through embracing our feminine qualities, we can find a more authentic way of life. We will be liberated to feel more like ourselves.”
The Feminine Revolution offers 21 ways to ignite your feminine power for a brighter life and better work. Its authors, Amy Stanton and Catherine Connors, challenge outdated perceptions that feminine traits are weaknesses, redefining those characteristics as assets that should be championed. With an upbeat blend of self-help and fresh analysis, The Feminine Revolution reboots femininity for the modern woman and provides her with the tools to accept and embrace her own authentic nature.
Amy Stanton is the founder of Stanton & Company (S&Co), a PR and marketing agency based in Los Angeles with a focus on promoting and building positive female role models and messaging for women. Renee is one of those people I feel like I was destined to meet. We found each other through our publisher, She Writes Press after Renee signed to publish her book with them. We had an immediate connection and soon after I had the honor of being a coach and guide for Renee the year leading up to her book launch.
In The Burn Zone, Renee openly and honestly shares her story — of losing her father at a young age, growing up with an abusive and alcoholic mother, to creating a successful career as a model and dancer, only to join a spiritual group “cult” that led her to burn everything that reminded her of her past (clothes, photos, everything), learn computer programming, get an MBA and create a life that felt the opposite of authentic to her.
After years of having a toxic relationship with her spiritual teacher, a near-death experience in a snowboarding accident finally gave her the "Wake Up” she needed to leave and start her life anew.
After picking up the pieces and going through her own personal healing from anger to forgiveness, she decided to share her story in her new memoir, The Burn Zone.
This thrilling tale leaves us with a powerful message of how to own our differences and liberate ourselves from the shame we carry from our past.
In this episode we discussed:
"Loving ourselves means stop making excuses for not giving ourselves the things we want in this life. Our life is so short."
Stay in Touch with Renee:
About The Burn Zone:
After seven years of faithfully following her spiritual teacher, Renee Linnell finally realized she was in a cult and had been severely brainwashed. But how did that happen to someone like her? She had graduated magna cum laude with a double degree. She had traveled to nearly fifty countries alone before she turned thirty-five. She was a surf model and a professional Argentine tango dancer. She had started five different companies and had an MBA from NYU. How could someone like her end up brainwashed and in a cult?
The Burn Zone is an exploration of how we give up our power―how what started out as a need to heal from the loss of her parents and to understand the big questions in life could leave a young woman fighting for her sanity and her sense of self. In the years following her departure from the cult, Linnell struggled to reclaim herself, to stand in her truth, and to rebuild her life. And eventually, after battling depression and isolation, she found a way to come out the other side stronger than ever. Part inspirational story, part cautionary tale, this is a memoir for spiritual seekers and those who feel lost in a world that makes them feel less than perfect.

After experiencing California’s wildfires, witnessing the increasing amount of hurricanes on the news and hearing firsthand accounts from friends and family of climate change throughout the world, I knew I wanted to interview an expert on this topic for the Rising Women Leaders podcast.
I just so happened to know the perfect person to interview - my sister, Nicole Rom. Nicole has been the Executive Director of Climate Generation for 12 years, empowering individuals and their communities to engage in solutions to climate change. Nicole breaks down what we need to know about our current state of the world and where we are headed when it comes to rising temperatures, sea levels and how we will be affected in the coming years. We discussed everything from how our family impacted our love for the environment, daily actions we can take to lower our carbon footprint, how to navigate the inherent grief of this issue as well as stories to cultivate hope.
I hope you enjoy the show.
In this episode we discussed:
“One of the most important things we can do is normalize the conversation on climate change. I know many of us are scared. You feel like you need to know the science… Don’t worry about it…All you have to say is “I’m worried about this. This is what i’m seeing. This is who is going to be impacted.” It is from that place you can connect with someone heart to heart.”

This happened to be right after Luna finished a death midwifery training, and I was astounded to hear all the information she had been learning about death and the funeral industry.
After having my grandmother pass away last year, I have been thinking a lot about how our culture does not really prepare us for this powerful rite of passage moment.

This means so much for our awakening collective consciousness, that this powerful woman could no longer be shunned or shamed by the church, and on a larger scale speaks to how women are reclaiming their power.
In honor of Mary Magdalene's Feast Day, July 22, I've put together a recording for you of the Rose lineage teachings that have most impacted my life:

It is a great honor to introduce you today to a personal guide and mentor of mine, Marin Bach-Antonson.
For the last year I have been participating in a 13 gateway Priestess Initiation Program led by Marin. It has been a truly transformational experience to embody principles of the sacred feminine in every area of my life.
In this conversation, Marin shares about the role of the Priestess, the rise of the feminine in our collective consciousness and one of the most simple and profoundly life-changing practices we can bring into our life right here and right now.
"When you allow those feelings to be exactly as they are, then you have access to the feelings. You are not pushing the feelings down...you aren't trying to make them different, yoga them away, journal them out, or juice fast them into dissolving. You're just being with them because you are allowing them. The only way out is through. It's the feeling of our feelings that ultimately gets us to the other side of them."

A couple years ago I had the honor of participating in one of KC Baker’s courses, Speak Up for Your Business. At the time I had been an active member in my local Toastmasters group to overcome my fears of public speaking and was interested in learning KC's methods for speechwriting.
I was preparing to launch a Kickstarter fundraiser to publish my book, Just Be and although I had been practicing public speaking, I was still pretty terrified at the thought of taking the stage.
KC's training not only gave me a step by step process for writing the architecture, or, "bones" of my speech, but was also full with wisdom and unconventional practices that made me feel so much more confident at being seen and heard.
KC's work has been hugely transformational in my life and I am so honored to be sharing her wisdom with you today.
In this conversation you'll learn how to transform fear and self-doubt around sharing your voice into total freedom, fun and confidence. KC also shares the powerful story of her son's birth as well as a few tips on how you can gain clarity on your message and what you stand for.
I hope you enjoy!
"Most people think that the intensity you feel in your body before public speaking is fear, and it's something terrible that 'I have to make go away in order to feel free to speak up'. When the reality is - it's the feeling of your power, and the secret is saying YES to it, lean into it. You will find so much freedom in that intensity."

Intuition, stories, and voices from women leaders
Have you ever received a vision of yourself in a past life?
Or just had a knowing that someone you met or experienced in this life is just all too familiar?
Our latest guest Tiffani Lloyd explores exactly these kinds of questions in her work with the akashic records. I first met Tiffani at a women's retreat in Oakland and we instantly connected... I was so curious to learn about her work as an intuitive and spiritual healer and wondered how she supports her clients to reconnect with their past lives.
Today's episode is full with wisdom for your spirit and soul growth. If you believe that your soul is here for a purpose (to learn, grow and ascend) this conversation is for you!
"Magic is not this big thing that is out in the sky, it is right here. It is through our every day actions that we create the change we need for ourselves in our lives."
In this episode we discussed:
Stay in Touch with Tiffani:
I am so excited and honored to be sharing this episode with you today with Mahita Gorris. I met Mahita last December in 2017 when I was at Amma’s ashram in India ~ one of the places I write about in my book href="http://bit.ly/mr-justbe">Just Be.
Seven years had passed since my first visit at Amma’s ashram and I was so excited to go back to one of my favorite spots - the meditation beach.
This was a beautiful stretch of beach front on the Arabian Sea where I used to cherish the sunrises and sunsets practicing yoga, writing in my journal and drinking chai.
I imagined what it would be like to arrive again at this very spot. I was hoping for union. Merging. Expansion. Love.
But at first all I saw was a recycling center erected in the very place I used to sit. Trash was everywhere. Mountains of it, waiting to be sorted. My first reaction was that I was pissed. My ego was on fire.
How could they do this? To this sacred spot? Where I remembered my heart?
Trash, just trash. Everywhere.
And then, of course, I was assigned seva (selfless service) at this very recycling center. And I met the woman Mahita who was one of the few pioneering waste management in India. And as I showed up ready to work with the trash, she showed me what 3 months of soft plastic waste looked like at the ashram. (Not including water bottles, which are a hard plastic)
It was enormous. It was a mountain. And there was no where to put it.
Every few months, there was a small chance a truck would come to pick it up to sell it. But otherwise it would go back into the earth...Taking thousands of years to degrade.
Then I really felt my heart. And I saw how I was contributing to it all. How we all are. And how in the West we often just don't see it. We know it's happening, but it's not staring us in the face, the way it was staring at me here.
Then she told me of how every moment she is sorting trash, she thinks of how the breeze caresses her skin. And how the sight of the ocean reminds her of her sacred work for Mother Earth. How sorting trash is her worship to this mother. Even though she was knee deep in garbage, she knew it was all worth it. For her mother. For our beautiful planet.
After I had my first seva experience here, I sat next to the ocean, and I watched the sunset, amidst the trash, and I really let myself feel my heart. Feel the pain. I cried. I knew what it was to feel truly humble. And helpless. And to not know. And underneath all of that, I understood what it was to feel true devotion. For this mother. For this planet. For the awakening of our souls. And this, was true union. Merging. Love. Just what I was longing for….
I was lucky to sit down and talk with Mahita about her experience with creating the recycling center at Amma’s, the current state of the world when it comes to waste management, and what we can actually do to make a difference.
We recorded this interview over Skype while Mahita was at the ashram and I was back in the states - so you may hear the sound of rickshaws and other sounds of India in the background.
This conversation touched me deeply and is a topic I believe we should all be aware of….
In this episode we discussed:
"For Westerners, the most effective way to serve the waste (issue) is to stop generating it. Devote yourself as much a possible to bulk reuse items and be a part of this new revolution of consumers responsibly refusing pathetic packaging."
A few weeks ago I attended my first Tantra class with Rosalie Amber Grace. While many of us associate Tantra with sexuality, I've learned it is much more about a way of being in the world. I see tantra as an approach to life ~ embracing all, being fully present, and allowing the material world (including our sexuality) to be a pathway to awakening.
I felt so nourished from the sweet & simple practices Rosalie shared with us in her class that I invited her to be on the podcast to share with all of you.
Rosalie has also had years of training as a doula and fertility awareness educator, so I hope you enjoy this rich information full with wisdom of the womb.
Happy listening!
"For me tantra really illustrates this truth that we don't have to change ourselves to be spiritual...We don't have to be someone that we are not. It's exactly in our present experience right now that we discover the love and bliss that we are longing for. We can use any experience as a portal to that place."

Intuition, stories, and voices from women leaders
When I first started my business as an entrepreneur I quickly learned there were A LOT of fears I would encounter. Everything from being seen, presenting and teaching, to looking at my relationship to money, charging from my services, leading a webinar for the first time ~ there was so much that made me want to run away and hide.
If only I had Kate's new book,The Courage Habit, when I started this wild journey of following my heart...!
But luckily, I did have the support of people I loved, and I was able to call upon my courage, and face many of my fears.
In this conversation Kate shares about the research behind our fears and what holds us back from living courageously. She also shares a four part process for courage, and the fears she still faces today.
This is a great episode for all you entrepreneurs, coaches and writers, as we both share our experiences of growing a team and publishing a book.
In this episode we discussed:
"Your fear is a wound and it just wants to heal. The more you can offer opportunities for healing to your fear instead of trying to push it away or telling it to shut up, the more it heals. And the more you will see that it just says things when it's afraid."
Stay in Touch with Kate:

After being on birth control pills for years growing up, Jaime Morocco was surprised to discover her natural menstrual cycle did not return when she went off of them. After years of focusing on fitness, this brought up a new question, "What do I need to do to bring my body back into balance?"
Jaime discovered that over-exercising and dietary restrictions were at the root of not having her period. After trying many protocols including gaining back weight and adding more healthy fats into her diet she was able to find that balance.
Jaime is passionate about supporting others to connect to their intuition and inner wisdom when it comes to feeling good in their body.
We also discussed the power of manifestation, pursuing our dreams as entrepreneurs and the journey of marriage in our conversation.
In this episode we discussed:
"We have to appreciate how much our body does for us, second by second. Our body is doing a thousand things for us right now as we sit. Bringing that awareness inside is really helpful...Those little things are so important. And in that sense, there is SO much to be grateful for."

I met MacKenzie sophomore year of high school, and it has been amazing to watch her journey unfold over the years to where she is now. After dedicating her entire life to swimming, on the path to be in the Olympics, life took a surprising turn, and she was asked to surrender those plans. After taking some time to grieve what she thought her life would be, she created a new dream.
Before she knew it she was participating in her very first pageant to be Miss District of Columbia, and to her surprise, she won. She went on to compete in Miss USA and soon after graduated from Columbia University with an MBA.
In our conversation we also talk about MacKenzie's life growing up ~ what she learned from her father, Ernest Green, who faced extreme adversity and racism in his life when he became the first black man to graduate from what was one of the nation's largest all-white high schools in Little Rock, Arkansas.
MacKenzie's story reminds us to stay strong in the face of adversity, always remember our dreams and reminds us we are often so much more capable than we could ever imagine.
"You don't get a testimony without a test. When you are in those storms, when it feels like everything around is falling apart, or that it is too much to handle - know that whatever you believe in wouldn't give you more than you can handle. Look at it like 'wow, this is one heck of a storm, and it will be one heck of rainbow.' "

I had such a great response from the Unearth Your Unique Brilliance webinar I shared a few weeks ago, that I decided to share another webinar I recorded from last summer all about ABUNDANCE.
In this episode you'll learn:
"In the feminine model, it's all about responding to life with love. And with that, we can take the art of manifestation a level deeper, using practices that involve not only our mind, but also our body."
I would like to attribute a few of the beautiful teachings in this webinar to the woman I mention a few times in the episode, my mentor, teacher and guide, Marin Bach Antonson. Her work is incredible and has been a huge catalyst for me to honor the Sacred Feminine in my life. I highly recommend you check out her work. <3

The truth is racism still exists. It exists in our subconscious - as a memory in our bodies from our ancestry. It exists from past traumas of our ancestors still yearning to be healed. It exists in our conditioning, our society and how many of us were raised...
Many people have been in denial of its existence, but with Trump taking office, what has seemed to be under the surface for many has only become more and more real. People of color have seen and experienced it all along, and thankfully, more and more of us have been waking up to this truth.
Not long after I set the intention to further educate myself about white privilege and racism, I received an email out of the blue from a friend I haven't talked to in years ...connecting me to Michelle and her work.
So what can we do? I sat down to talk with Michelle Johnson to learn more about privilege, oppression and racism and her unique approach of integrating the teachings of yoga with social justice. I am so grateful to share her wisdom with you all today.
“Racism is not just impacting people of color. The system of oppression is not just harming people of color, it's harming all of us because we are connected. We’re just not conditioned to see that connection.”
In this episode we discussed:
“One must be connected with their breath to feel their body. A connection to the body allows one to feel their heart. A connection with the heart allows one to become clear about their values so that they may connect with their humanity. When one sees their own humanity and realizes that others are suffering around them they have the opportunity to connect with the oneness of all beings and our shared humanity. From the breath, body, heart and awareness of humanity, one must take action. No one can exist without taking action. Skill in Action.”

From Michelle:
I have a deep understanding of how trauma impacts the mind, body, spirit and heart. My awareness of the world through my experience as a black woman allows me to know, first hand how privilege and power operate. I understand the toll that oppression can take on individuals and the collective physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
I am a social justice warrior, empath, yoga teacher and practitioner and an intuitive healer. Whether in an anti-oppression training, yoga space, individual or group intuitive healing session, healing and wholeness are at the center of how I approach all of my work in the world. I've spent many years on the front lines of justice movements craving a space for healing through ritual, ceremony and sacred practice. While working in many non-profits with missions focused on justice I didn't find a space that centered healing as a tool to create justice. So, I created my own space and way of working.
I create healing spaces in many different ways working with individuals and groups. I lead anti-racism trainings, yoga workshops focused on the intersection of justice and yoga and I offer intuitive healing sessions to support social justice workers, healers and activists who are on the front lines and struggling with how to sustain themselves as they do their good work in the world.
I have a background as a licensed clinical social worker and I have been teaching yoga for ten years. I began my own teacher training in 2014 and recently wrote a book about yoga and justice, Skill in Action: Radicalizing Your Yoga Practice to Create a Just World. I inspire change that allows people to stand in their humanity and wholeness in a world that fragments most of us. There are myriad of ways to work with me. I hope to support you on your healing journey and path towards wholeness in whatever capacity allows you to live your fullest life.

What I learned from Maga in this episode was truly transformative. I had just gone through a week on my moon cycle, trying to push myself to get clear on a schedule for the next month of business promotions, but literally all I wanted to do was stay in bed. It was so hard for me to feel motivated and get clear on what was coming. I kept wondering why I wasn't able to "get my act together."
Then magically, a few days after my moon time, a surge of energy rushed through me and I was more productive than ever. Suddenly I had the mental clarity to take steps forward and was able to make a clear schedule for the following month.
It wasn't until I talked to Maga that I realized this was all related to where I was in my cycle. Learning the archetypes for each phase of a woman's menstrual cycle was so enlightening to my path as an in-tune Priestess and Business woman. I now saw a way I could use these two aspects of myself to support each other.

What a relief it was - To realize there are times of the month where I just need to let myself go totally inwards and be a hermit, and times of the month that will be completely aligned for me to have the mental clarity to see into the future and take action. I had heard this kind of wisdom before, but something about how Maga shared it really "clicked" for me.
I think this wisdom of becoming more in tune with your womb and cycles is a true gift to every woman. I hope you enjoy the episode!
“The awareness of the cycle builds a sense of self trust. You know that no matter what is going on around you, you have this intimate understanding of what your inner landscape is doing so you can lead from a place of authenticity.”

One of the things I loved most about sitting down to talk with Erin was when we touched on the topic of comparing ourselves to other women. I think one of the deepest wounds that can really be a challenge when stepping into true sisterhood and community is when we get stuck comparing ourselves to other people. It brings us right into the question of wondering, is there really enough for everyone?
How can we be so similar to each other, carry a similar mission and still be special and unique? These are just some of the questions we explored in this week's episode.
We also discussed our shared journeys of navigating chronic pain and how that relates to being an empath, Erin's definitions of a "starseed" and "priestess" and which plant spirits will guide you into a deeper embodied experience of abundance.
"Are people healed? Are people hearing the cosmic song? Are people vibrant and thriving in their bodies? Are people moving joyfully, dancing through their day to the grocery store? No! The job is not done and we need more people on the team!"
The universe would not give so many people the same mission unless it was a mission that was so big it couldn't be done by just one person...

“The objects we have in our house are incredibly emotionally charged. The things we buy to numb ourselves or fit in, they can make us feel stagnant or obligated and we bring that energy into our home.”
One of my secret loves is home decoration. Last summer I went through a huge purge after reading the Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. It brought me such a sense of peace in my home that I actually had the women in my program The Sovereign Circle go through the exercise too!
It was a joy to sit down with Maggie Minor of Maggie Minor Designs in the latest RWL podcast episode to discuss the deeper emotional layers that are involved in the decluttering process. She shares how we need to address the void that comes when decluttering and invites us to ask, “How do we avoid just filling it up again with stuff?” Maggie shares her experiences of sitting with the discomfort of growing, evolving and letting go of the need to fill the void with more stuff to create space for greater joy and inner and outer alignment. She also shares about her recent big leap moving across the country, listening to her body’s wisdom, and the time she spent in the Peace Corps. I hope you enjoy the show!
“Our homes are a three-dimensional vision board. So if we design our space to be in alignment with what we want, we are gonna get their quicker. It’s going to create flow in our lives.”
In this episode we discussed:
“You always know the right answer…If we align ourselves with our bodies, and let the fear leave our bodies, the answers will appear. They are not always the answers we want, but they are always the right answers.”

After three years of making very little money in her business as a psychic, Anastasia Holland got serious about learning business strategy and putting herself out there.
She had an idea: to have conscious conversations with women about their relationship to money. She was genuinely curious about how these women she admired got to where they were. How did they make it all work?
So she launched her first summit, "Worthy" and within a few weeks her business catapulted.
The clients started coming in more than ever before. She announced a mentorship program and watched her income skyrocket.
But it wasn't all easy. There were upper limits Anastasia had to learn to navigate. Then there was some serious burnout she had to recover from.
But along the way, she discovered what brought her true joy...
From Anastasia:
"My whole perspective of life has changed because as I gained success financially in my career and I finally had this total freedom that I craved for so long, I realized that I didn't feel that different.
That has catapulted me into finding out what really gives me joy. What really gives me peace. What really gives me freedom. And love and connection.
I think if I didn't have that success I would always be chasing and never be able to face the part of myself that was still in a lot of pain and had all these desires other than money and career."

Lately I’ve been reflecting on what it means to have “enough.”
Last month I was lucky to sit down with a founding partner of Abacus Wealth Partners, an investment company that focuses on making the world a better place, Spencer Sherman.
I found it really interesting when he shared, “Giving and saving are two ways to tell your body and mind, ‘I have enough.’”
Mindfulness and meditation have greatly helped me shift my relationship to money.
I remember even just a few years ago when I had accumulated a large amount of savings, yet my mindset was solely focused on what I didn’t have. Because of that, I didn’t take a moment to reflect on everything around me. Instead I kept pushing myself.
Now, I do my best to remind myself of what I have, with gratitude. A mantra I use often is, “I have everything I need, and I welcome so much more.” (Thanks to Gabrielle Bernstein for that one)
Shifting my mindset around money and focusing more on generosity than on scarcity has helped me let go of the need to grasp on to the next prospective client, the bigger house, or next new item for my wardrobe.
And I have to say, it’s been so relaxing to take that pressure off.
The funny thing is, the more I soften and rest into the trust that I have everything I need, I feel like so much more abundance is coming to me.
I’ve consciously been letting go of the grasping, the feeling of “getting the short end of the stick” and really honoring where I am at and what I have.
It’s not an easy practice, I know, and sometimes I still get stuck in the mindset of “I don’t have enough.” So that’s why I’m excited to share with you my latest podcast episode all about Money and Mindfulness with Spencer Sherman.
“The less attached I have been, the more ease I have found with money, the more it comes to me.” ~ Spencer Sherman A few months ago it became clear to me that I’d like create a “Mindful Men Series” to honor the perspective of the divine masculine and share the voices of men I see around me honoring their gifts and purpose while giving back to the world.
After listening to the episode, I’d love to hear, what does enough look like for you? How do you cultivate a feeling of enough? Let me know in the comments over on instagram.
I’m also excited to share that this Fall Spencer and I are collaborating in an 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program locally in Sebastopol.
Save the date September 5, 6:30 - 9 pm at The dhyana Center for a free orientation to learn about the program.
In this episode we discuss:
I hope you enjoy today’s show. It may be just what you need to earn more money, start saving and giving, or maybe to just cultivate more peace of mind.

Meredith

I love when I see a woman merge her love of design with spirituality in her business. Today I'd like to introduce you to one of these women, Mari Sierra.
I first met Mari at Erica Jago's yoga retreat in Yosemite. Mari led us through a Five Rhythms dance practice as well as a workshop to connect to our five senses. At the time, she was newly married and spent much of her time working with start up companies in San Francisco.
Flash forward a couple years, and Mari has now led several of her own retreats around the world, moved back where she grew up in Mexico, left a partnership that was no longer serving her or her husband and studied for months at a dance intensive in Berlin.
What changed? How did she make a leap to follow her heart, even if it took her in an unexpected direction?
In this episode Mari shares:
Links in this episode:
Mari Sierra is a curious explorer of the mind-body connection and our collective evolution. She designs learning experiences for groups around the world, to explore the depths of the creative mind through yoga, meditation, dance, ritual, mysticism and self-expression. Her passion is to inspire people to inquire within, to open sensitivity to the subtle energy body, with nature elements and the principle of interconnectedness. Originally from Mexico city, she experimented with a myriad of dance schools, shamanic and yogic practices, then moved to San Francisco to work in design and social innovation, where she facilitates creative sessions with technology companies, coaches, and visionary leaders to find the song of their hearts and realign their work with higher intentions.
This month I took myself on a trip to Kauai to attend a gathering called Singing Alive.
I decided to attend after being with my grandmother as she was passing in the hospital. I found song to be such a soothing and sacred way to connect with her during that difficult time and I wanted to immerse myself in an environment of song in the weeks after she passed.
On one afternoon I experienced a surreal moment when the women gathered to all sing together. After anchoring and opening the space, our facilitator invited any woman to teach a song to us. The first woman to stand up called in a sister in spirit - hundreds of miles away - one of my dearest friends for the past four years, Mackenzie Myers.
She then led us in call and response to sing one of Mackenzies songs, a song I have heard my friend sing many times. In that moment my skin was covered with goosebumps and tears streamed down my face because of what a powerful song it is. I was thinking about my friend, who only a few years ago was holding fear around stepping up to share her voice.
In that moment her song was reaching the ears and voices of fifty or sixty women, and it truly unified us together and opened our hearts.
It is moments like these that remind me why it is so important for women to face their fears and share their gifts, especially their voice. The song that my friend Mackenzie had written was pure medicine for all the women in our circle. I felt so proud of her for facing her fears and sharing her voice so her songs could spread and be experienced by more and more people.
In today's podcast episode I share Mackenzie's song from our women's circle as well as three more powerful songs for you to sing along to.
My hope is they create a safe and nurturing space for YOU to open up and share your voice.
With love,
Meredith
This week I've been feeling kind of messy. I went on a trip to Kauai last week, and coming home I'm finding myself a little lost at times and unsure of where to put my energy next.
But I'm learning to love the mess. To love everything as it is arising.
And this is something I love about today's podcast interview with Adriana Rizzolo. I've always admired how Adriana carries herself with love and respect, no matter what the circumstances.
In the episode Adriana shares about some pretty difficult hardships she's faced, including her story of healing from addiction and what happened when she lost everything she owned when her car was stolen.
Sometimes bad things happen, and Adriana shows us how we can more fully love ourselves, even through the mess.

Some of you may remember Luna Love from an episode where she interviewed me for her show - The Ladies Who Lead Podcast - where I shared my 4 Keys to Feminine Leadership.
I invited Luna on RWL to share about creative entrepreneurship, how she uses the muse to go for her dreams and about the process of inner marriage and how we can use it to come into wholeness to attract a loving partner.
One of the things I admire about this woman is her ability to accomplish so much - while nurturing a feminine way of being and living - one of the values I hold so dear in my own business. In this episode she shares some of her secrets to "getting it all done" while creating space for what matters most.
“Our capacity to receive as women is really not about other people giving us things but about our willingness to receive our unlimited potential and through the receptivity of that greatness lies the energy to create more and be of greater service…” ~ Luna Love
In this episode Luna shares about:
—
Luna is a Women’s Leadership Mentor, assisting those called to be change-makers in the world, in achieving clear vision for their lives by providing supportive, life-promoting experiences, practical tools and spiritual wisdom to align one’s divine essence, authentic expression and life-purpose. She creates transformative experiences for her clients through the power of self-awareness and self-love.
Luna facilitates online courses, group coaching, workshops, immersion programs and retreats to support her clients in devoting themselves to themselves, and serving the world from that place. Additionally she works as a counselor at a leading holistic drug and alcohol rehabilitation center and writes for numerous online publications. Most of all Luna is devoted to walking her path in the beauty way.
Today we are lucky to receive a transmission from Vyana Ma on the Rising Women Leaders Podcast. Vyana is another soul sister I first met through the world of instagram where we soon connected, met in person, and I learned of her work as an energy medicine teacher, devotee, musician and activist.
I sat down to speak with her a couple months ago for the podcast when she had just come back from a bhakti yoga immersion in Mexico and was making a plan to travel to Standing Rock.
I re-listened to this episode on my birthday in the bathtub and as soon as I heard her soothing voice, I knew there was no where else I would rather be. Her words brought me right back to my truth, reminding me of the power of being, loving and giving to ourselves in order to give back as teachers and healers, and the profound impact forgiveness can have on our lives.
Re-listening to her story of healing from childhood abuse to become such a compassionate and strong woman leader helps me remember what I know in the core of my being - that really, anything is possible.
"Humility and gratitude give us the freedom to experience the divinity that we are." "...And if we always return to these principles of being and humbling ourselves and being grateful for what we have we will never be lost, no matter how confusing or painful it may feel. When we come back to humility and gratitude we will always find our way." ~Vyana Ma

She is also an international energy medicine teacher & speaker based out of Ojai, Ca. I wanted to share an update on what's happening with the book I wrote of my travels in India! After raising over $10,000 in the Kickstarter campaign last Fall to publish it, I got right to work with my publishing team.
Right now the manuscript is being copyedited, and we are putting finishing touches on the cover design. The official release date will be August 22, 2017, and as long as everything stays on the timeline, Kickstarter supporters should receive their early copy in July.
After much contemplation, research, and discussion with my publishing team and kickstarter supporters, I have decided to change the title of my book from Synchronicity to Just Be: A Search for Self-love in India.
This wasn't an easy decision, but after my publisher approached me with the suggestion to find a title that was more direct, short, and to the point…something that would immediately speak to what the reader would be take away from reading this book, I began to tune into the total stillness and wisdom of my heart and asked the universe to send me a sign. (To hear the full story and hear the introduction of the book, listen to today's podcast episode)
When my publisher asked me to "look at where my attachments lay" and ask what was best for the book I laughed to myself, because literally the last sentence I had written in my book was, "If I was able to release my attachments to the outcome, I knew everything would fall into place…"
Soon after, I found myself recording a podcast interview with Achintya Devi, an amazing woman in the world of women's spirituality and empowerment, and we began having technical difficulties - getting disconnected, coming on the line but using different links, about 15 - 20 minutes passed while we were just trying to begin the interview…
Frustrated, I found myself saying a new mantra over and over in my mind without realizing it, "Just be. Just be. Just be." Within a moment Achintya came on the line, and we recorded a powerful interview to close out the year.
Just Be happened to be one of the titles I was considering for the book, and in that moment, I knew this was the sign I was asking for.
Very little will actually change in the content of the book - I still share of synchronistic events and happenstance, but I’m seeing how synchronicity fits in as a natural side-effect when we tap into a space of “just being…”, releasing our attachments, and allowing the events of the universe to unfold magically around us…
I am feeling ever-more resonant with this new title and direction. After reading through the book last week, I saw how present the theme of “just being” is shared throughout. It just took having an outside perspective to point this out to me.
I believe the message of just being is so relevant and needed at this time - in a world so focused on achieving and doing…
This belief was affirmed to me a couple weeks ago when I received an email from one of my readers, Clare. She wrote in response to a newsletter I sent about letting go of goals and action plans for this year, and rather asking how we can bring more love, gentleness and service to every moment:
“When your email came in, I was initially afraid to open it, I was afraid that I was going to see yet another mention about New Year resolutions which would in turn make me feel bad about the lack of my own. I had already seen plenty, and I was just about done feeling bad.
I opened your email, and it was the comforting hug that I needed, to remind me of that whisper in my heart that told me to spend more time nurturing myself, taking better care of myself.
After your email, I continued having similar signs pop up everywhere -- telling me that it's ok not to have everything figured out, and it's ok to take it slow. To JUST BE.”**
I've been thinking more about what I want for the woman I wrote this book for…and I truly want her to experience what it is to just be...
...To fully accept herself as she is… And from that place of presence, self-love and acceptance… to follow her dreams and experience deep connection and synchronicity… but from a place of truly tuning in, and first finding stillness and silence, and listening to her heart.
After all of this I went into a 10-day silent meditation retreat, where I watched the busy-ness of my mind and found myself coming back again and again to this new mantra, "Just Be" and knew I was being guided to change the title.
My wish is for you to have an open heart and mind, and see how this mantra, “just be,” may come to play in your life…
This whole experience has really shown me the power of releasing my attachments. And how very often when we release those attachments, we end up with a solution that is even more in alignment.Who knew the process of publishing a book full with spiritual lessons would be so full of…spiritual lessons…? :)
What’s the latest update with the book now? We are putting final touches on a whole new cover - something that encompasses the magic and colors of India and the theme and message of just being…so stay tuned.
I’m so grateful for all of you. Thank you all for bearing witness to this journey and for just being with me…
With love,
Meredith
"For me, astrology is about enchantment...When I am looking at someone's birth chart, I am looking at their soul's patterning. I am looking at the moment they were born and the heavens froze, and this special moment becomes someone's soul process." "It tells me about their evolution as a soul, it tells me about where their challenges are, what their relational patterns are, how they can self-soothe with their emotions, how they can take care of themselves better. It gives a sense of enchantment with the self, letting you understand you are a part of this huge cosmic thing and you have an important role to play..."
There is a very specific reason you are here. Consciousness is shifting so quickly at this time and you are needed...

As a writer and coach, Jillian fuses her background in ancestral healing to help women break free of old patterns and self-imposed limitations. She believes that pain is potent medicine, and that we're each assigned a divine soul curriculum that offers us the opportunity to not just survive, but to truly thrive in all areas of life: relationship, career, creativity, and beyond.
Jillian works with women to make space for what really matters, to unearth blockages, and to direct soul desires into manifestation. Her greatest fulfillment comes from witnessing a woman become the powerful Creatrix she is.

When I first met Denell Nawrocki, I learned she held a vision of educating and empowering women on alternative methods of birth control, and about gynecological and women's health.
I was in awe only months later when I saw a string of workshops pop up around our town that Denell put together on Cervical wellness. I attended her workshop to hear her healing journey - how she cleared her system of HPV and cervical dysplasia, completely naturally. In the workshop she also offered tools for other women who may have received an abnormal pap test at their last women's health exam.
Millions of women in the US alone receive results of an abnormal pap test at least once in their life, yet they are given little information about what they can shift in their lives to alter future test results.
This episode is full with wisdom if you or anyone you know has received an abnormal pap test before, or if you want to learn about preventative health for women's wellness.
I think you'll also be inspired by Denell's story if you feel the call to share your own healing journey and be of service to others as Denell shares about releasing her fears of vulnerability to share her voice.

On the first day of 2016 I took off my clothes and jumped into a freezing cold body of water.
For so long I had avoided cold water, knowing that my body already runs on the cold side and I wanted to do everything I could to stay comfortable. But on New Year's Day, when I was on a hike with a group of friends and we came upon a gorgeous pond, I just knew I had to do it.
I felt amazing afterwards.
But a week ago I went up to Orr Hotsprings with my partner and found myself avoiding the cold plunge at all costs.
I watched as my partner jumped in the icy cold pool on the first night and wondered how he could do it when it was already so cold outside. Even though I knew I would feel amazing afterwards, I was still avoiding it.
Until one moment I just knew I needed to jump in. It was time to stop procrastinating and just go for it.
So I did.
And what I noticed as I jumped out was that I could suddenly fully sustain being in the cold air outside. My body was warming up more quickly from the inside.
Suddenly I stood a little taller, spread my collarbones a little wider and walked with confidence upon the cool, hard Earth.
So often in life, we do everything we can to avoid the "cold plunge." Those things that scare us, those things that feel difficult or challenging. We procrastinate and put them off...
But the thing is, as soon as we stop avoiding it, we feel bigger and stronger than ever before.
This is what the past year has been like for me - continuously jumping into a cold pool of water. It has not always been easy, and at times it has felt like too much...
But as I sat interviewing Achintya Devi for the Rising Women Leaders podcast and hearing her speak of finding the gifts in our challenges and difficulties in life, and how relieved and powerful we feel when we face them head on, I knew it has all been worth it.
Achintya spoke:
"It is the medicine of your pain or fear to walk towards it. If we keep turning away from it's going to keep perpetuating in our lives...and when we can look that challenge in the mirror...and when it is fully felt through the body, something shifts, energetically, in our DNA in our brain structure, in our cells and in our hearts and we understand there is a deeper truth that lies underneath it. " As we close out 2016, I knew this was the perfect episode to leave you with.
Achintya speaks so powerfully of what is happening in our world right now, how women are being called to embody their divine feminine sovereign power and how we can fully activate and align on our path.
Listen to the episode here.
For this episode especially, I urge you to listen all the way to the end.
About three quarters of the way through we touch on some deeply meaningful topics that I think you will want to hear. You may want to have a tissue on hand.
From Achintya:
"We really need you right now... Every single one of us is completely unique. There is a grand tapestry being woven right now and each and every one of us has a unique color and frequency... it is going to be incomplete without your thread." I invite you to trust that your presence matters. You chose to come to this earth for a reason. You are holding a particular frequency that is medicine for someone or something..." And we need you. In this episode we discuss:
Tomorrow I will be entering ten days of silence at a Vipassana meditation retreat with my friend Karen. I know there may be some challenge and difficulty that arises with meditating for ten hours a day, ten days straight, but I am willing to face it head on. I welcome any good thoughts coming my way (I will be in silence and away from all technology December 20 - 31).
Know that I am wishing you an empowered and loving end of 2016 and I deeply look forward to connecting and sharing more inspiring content with you in the New Year.
With love,
Meredith

When I first watched Lyla June Johnston's music video, "All Nations Rise," it gave me chills and I felt an immediate calling to interview her for the Rising Women Leaders podcast.
Lyla's video soon went viral on Facebook, with over 1.6 million views, providing a powerful platform for Lyla to share her message of compassion, peace and prayer during turbulent times.
I spoke with Lyla just days after she returned from Standing Rock last month. I left this interview feeling filled with so much hope, passion, and devotion to our Mother Earth as well as my own dreams and ambitions. I hope you will find the same.
Please take the time this week to listen to the full episode, and I encourage you to share it with your friends. The time has come for us all to rise together.
Love,
Meredith
"What you think of as failure is actually a success ...because you tried... Creator doesn't want you to be perfect, Creator just wants you to try." In this episode Lyla shares:

Lyla's Bio:
Lyla June Johnston was raised in Taos, New Mexico and is a descendent of Diné (Navajo) and Tsétsêhéstâhese (Cheyenne) lineages. Her personal mission in life is to grow closer to Creator by learning how to love deeper. This prayer has taken her on many journeys and materializes in diverse ways.
She is a student of global cycles of violence that eventually gave rise to The Native American Holocaust and the destruction of many cyclic relationships between human beings and nature. This exploration birthed her passion for revitalizing spiritual relationships with Mother Earth and cultivating spaces for forgiveness and reconciliation to occur between cultural groups. She is a co-founder of The Taos Peace and Reconciliation Council, which works to heal intergenerational trauma and ethnic division in the northern New Mexico. She is a walker within the Nihigaal Bee Iiná Movement, a 1,000-mile prayer walk through Diné Tah (the Navajo homeland) that is exposing the exploitation of Diné land and people by uranium, coal, oil and gas industries. She is the lead organizer of the Black Hill Unity Concert which gathers native and nonnative musicians to pray for the return of guardianship of the Black Hills to the Lakota, Nakota and Dakota nations. She is the also the founder of Regeneration Festival, an annual celebration of children that occurs in 13 countries around the world every September.
In 2012, she graduated with honors from Stanford University with a degree in Environmental Anthropology. During her time there she wrote the award winning papers: Nature and the Supernatural: The Role of Culture and Spirituality in Sustaining Primate Populations in Manu National Park, Peru and Chonos Pom: Ethnic Endemism Among the Winnemem Wintu and the Cultural Impacts of Enlarging Shasta Reservoir. She is a musician, public speaker and internationally recognized performance poet. Lyla June ultimately attributes any achievements to Creator who gave her the tools and resources she uses to serve humanity.
She currently lives in Diné Tah, the Navajo ancestral homeland which spans what is now called New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Arizona. She spends her free time learning her engendered mother tongue, planting corn, beans and squash and spending time with elders who retain traditional spiritual and ecological knowledge.
On Friday I made an instagram post for the women in my community who I knew were feeling the energies of what is happening at Standing Rock.
As sensitive beings, we can so easily pick up on the emotions in the air around what is happening to our Mother Earth as well as the anger and emotions from the tribes protecting their water.
I wrote this message as a reminder that we are all doing our part to heal the collective...as I believe how we treat ourselves is a valid place to start in healing our world. (Scroll to the bottom of this message to read the full post).
And today I have a new podcast for you, on the power of self-love.
To me, self-love is about knowing how to show up for ourselves when challenges and difficulties arise. When we create that foundation of self-love, that's when we can live beyond our fears and fully share our gifts with the world, knowing that no matter what happens, we will be okay.
In many ways, it's much easier to do acts of self-care like yoga practice, meditation, and healthy eating when everything is going smoothly...
But if you can call upon these acts in times of challenge? That is where the real work comes in.
What I share in the podcast, is a talk I wrote under the guidance of KC Baker this summer as part of her speechwriting course. (If you are planning to join me for my Celebration event, Yin Yoga, Tea & Book Reading, you may like to wait to hear it in person there.)
I share the story of one of my greatest challenges, where the world felt like it was falling apart, and instead of becoming a victim to my circumstances, I chose love, awareness and forgiveness. I also write about this experience in detail in my book, Synchronicity.
That single choice made in a moment of complete distress, went on to dramatically alter the course of my life.
Learning how to hold myself with unconditional love allowed me to find a deep forgiveness and love without conditions for everyone around me.
Choosing to love and forgive is not always easy, I know. But I believe it is a true path to miracles. I hope my story will inspire you in your own path of self-love and forgiveness.

Sister, I want you to know you are doing your part.
By healing your own psyche, you are altering the collective consciousness.
By loving yourself, you are healing the collective consciousness.
I believe how we as a whole, are treating the world is a direct reflection of how we as a whole, are treating ourselves.
Tearing up the Earth, using up our resources solely for financial gains, polluting the airs, polluting the waters...How many people do you see in the world today treating their own bodies this way?
As we heal ourselves, we naturally heal the collective.
Sister, every time you shift a thought of self-hate to self-love, you are doing your part.
Every time you show up to your yoga mat, you are doing your part.
Every time you nourish your body, every time you meditate, every time you pray, even every time you do something that brings you joy, you are doing your part.
I believe when we AS A WHOLE, collectively love, nurture and cherish ourselves, it will be directly reflected in how we love, nurture and cherish our Mother Earth.
Let's rise together.
In our prayers.
In our devotion.
And in our ability to take small steps toward healing ourselves, healing all beings and healing the great mother who holds us all.

This past week I have been immersing myself in the life and teachings of Mary Magdalene. My friend recently brought out a pile of books she was giving away where I picked up The Magdalene Manuscript and began to learn more about the mystery and magic of her life.
As life's synchronicities would have it, Mary Magdalene happened to be the topic of my next podcast interview with Faye Wylder. Faye has been such a positive force in my life, and brings so much light, love and encouragement to other women.
I'm beginning to really see the power of calling upon ascended masters like Mary Magdalene to reconnect with source energy. If you have been intrigued to learn more about Mary Magdalene and want to learn more about how you can work with the unconditional love she has to offer, I highly recommend you listen to today's show.

I believe we all have the power to transform our greatest moments of pain and suffering into our greatest moments of awakening.
But I know from personal experience it is so hard to see the light when it feels like the world is crumbling beneath our feet. Today I want to share with you one of my more difficult moments in the first reading of my book, Synchronicity. (Watch the full video about it here! http://kck.st/2dTEZpS)
I take you back to over six years ago where I found myself sobbing on the floor after going through total heartbreak (something that I know so many of us are familiar with).
I share about the challenges and hardships I faced that eventually led me into my greatest moments of awakening...the moments where I began to live beyond my fears and follow my intuition first across the country and then to the other side of the world to India.
This book is a story of finding forgiveness, of transformation, of healing and ultimately of finding love within.
I look back and see my hardships as profound gifts. It was these moments that prompted my greatest awakening, and I hold them in my heart with gratitude.
But today I wanted to share with you where I was and what my life was like before I found the inner peace I speak of now.
If you feel called to hold the book in your hands and read the whole story of transformation, I invite you to watch the kickstarter video and contribute to the campaign : http://kck.st/2dTEZpS
Supporters have a chance to receive an early signed copy of the book, coaching sessions for women on a heroine's quest, a self-care gift box, and 40 day meditation practice, among many other rewards. Check them all out right here!
I hope you enjoy this podcast and opportunity to learn more about my story.
Stay tuned for more podcast episodes and sneak previews of the book coming soon...

And I'm excited to share a new episode today on the podcast! I sat down with one of my inspirations, Katie Dalebout to talk about podcasting, book publishing, journaling and body image.
I first discovered Katie's podcast, Let it Out (formerly the Wellness Wonderland) through my friend Jasmine who was raving to me about it. Over the past year I've enjoyed listening to the inspirational speakers, authors and experts she has on the show. I also recently read Katie's book, Let it Out and was amazed reading the introduction of how this book came into manifestation. (Listen to the episode to hear Katie tell the story herself).
I'm so glad to be back to sharing these interviews with you!!
Here's what to expect in today's episode:
Love,

Last week I sat down with another Rising Woman Leader, Ashley Burnett, to talk about her journey to uninhibited leadership.
One of the things I love about Ashley is that she can have a fierce get-stuff-done attitude at the same time as embracing everyone around her with so much love.
I've been honored to get to know her over the past few months since she moved from SF to the countryside in Petaluma, CA and I can't wait for you to get to know her through today's show!
"Dance is my lifeline." Here's what you'll find in today's episode:
I would LOVE to hear what insights you gained from the episode and how you will use the archetype of the QUEEN to live and love more fully in your life. Let me know in the comments here.

Meredith
When I imagine a woman fully empowered in her voice, I think of Noelani Love.
I first met Noelani in Hawaii when dear friend Erica Jago and I led a workshop at her studio. Since then I've watched Noelani come more and more into her voice as a mantra singer, teacher and retreat leader.
I've seen Noelani go for her dreams, speak up for her needs and stand for her beliefs. When we reunited in Bali, Indonesia last May for the Rising Women Leaders Bali Retreat, I wasn't even surprised when she took the floor at Ecstatic Dance at the Yoga Barn to sing the closing song with her ukulele. I watched in amazement as she gathered over a hundred of us to sing along with her that day.
On today's episode of the Rising Women Leaders Podcast, I asked Noelani if she would share about her experiences of finding her voice and how her unique experiences of motherhood and childbirth have shaped her into the woman she is today.

A few months ago I sat down to be interviewed by Luna Love, the host of Ladies Who Lead Podcast. I had a great time sharing with her about my personal story of how I came to do the work I am doing today.
I talked with Luna about growing up in New York, what inspired me to take a leap to move to California after college, become a yoga teacher, travel to India and eventually start my own business. In the episode I also share my "4 Keys to Feminine Leadership" and the women who have inspired me most over recent years.
"When you share your fear, it starts to lose its charge." Here's what else you'll find in this episode:
If I feel fear, but even just a little bit of excitement, I know that's a good sign for me to walk closer to it..." * How I handle my inner critic voice and limiting beliefs * Practices to listen to your body wisdom, face your fears, and create layers of support in your life * The story of what happened when I shared my first song on the harmonium * How I call upon a higher power to manifest my desires * The women who have inspired me the most in business and life * A sneak preview of details about the book I've been writing for the last year about my travels in India

SUBSCRIBE ON ITUNES I'm back with a new podcast episode this week with Becca Piastrelli of The Dabblist.
I was first introduced to Becca at a women's retreat in Sonoma, and soon after attended one of her Sisterhood Soiree events. I was immediately drawn to her sense of humor and genuine love, care, and encouragement for the women around her.
In this episode Becca shares how she listened to her inner calling to rediscover her feminine nature as well as start a successful online business supporting women to reconnect to creativity and sisterhood.
We also share about the shadow side of sisterhood and leadership, how to handle comparison in a world of growing women’s entrepreneurship and how to create structures of support in your life to rise above your biggest challenges.
"Sisterhood is the field to freedom." ~ Becca Piastrelli In this episode we discuss:

Becca Piastrelli is an online entrepreneur who is part Artemis, part Athena. Her Artemis comes out in her work on TheDabblist.com where she holds space for women to awaken their creativity, stop chasing perfect, and work with their hands again in a space of creative sisterhood. Her Athena comes out in her work with bloggers and online business owners, helping them authentically market and build their tribes online. A nature devotée and lover of plant wisdom, Becca likes to dabble in deeper understanding of the moon and it works its magic both within the feminine body and out in the world. You can find her extrovert-ing with fellow creative women while drinking entirely too much coffee and likely making overly animated facial expressions.

Karen Prosen and I were immediately drawn to each other when we first met in downtown Sebastopol, CA when she came to look at the office space I was renting at the time.
Our connection deepened over the coming months when she joined my very first group coaching program for women two years ago and over time has become a dear friend, collaborator and teacher of mine as well.
Like myself and many of us, Karen's path of healing and service began with the body. I invite you to pause today and listen to today's episode to learn about how Karen left a life of modeling around the world to becoming a true servant to the divine and the awakening of our collective consciousness.
My hope is this episode helps you remember to truly take care of and love your body as a temple so you can become a living vessel for spirit to move through.
"Our body is a temple and a vessel, we are meant to be exalted and treated as such." In this episode we discuss:

How will you choose to treat your body as a temple and vessel today? I'd love to hear in the comments below.

In this month of love and especially self-love, I decided to sit down with spiritual mentor, soul alchemist and dear friend, Jessica Sandra of Sacred Soul Cove.
I felt called to bring light to the topic of "Reclaiming Divine Feminine Sexuality" after listening to a video interview with two female yoga mentors of mine. One of them shared about her story of sexual abuse in her life and how she was able to transform the experience into a source of empowerment. The week after, I then had a friend open up to me about her experience of sexual abuse she had in her first year of college. It became clear that this was a topic I wanted to address and share with my community.
I am so happy to introduce you today to Jessica Sandra ~ a woman doing amazing work in the world by sharing her story and supporting women to transform past experiences of abuse and trauma into empowerment and self-love.
In this episode we discuss:
I hope you enjoy the episode. I'd love to hear your comments below.

Jessica Sandra is a spiritual mentor, soul alchemist, and liberator of the wild woman within. She helps women reconnect to their divine feminine essence, come to fully embody and express that essence, and cultivate a life that is deeply in line with their soul. Her work involves the transmutation of past sexual trauma and pain into divine feminine connection and power. Her vision is for women everywhere to live in full expression of their truth, embodied and full of their own life force energy.
I have a new podcast to share with you today on the topic of "Falling in Love with Yourself."
I feel this is such an important topic because we really do need to value and love ourselves in order to live happy, fulfilled lives where we are able to give back at our fullest capacity and live up to our highest potential.
Just an example from my life yesterday: I knew I wanted to sit down and record this podcast first thing, but I woke up in a terrible mood. I had a headache, my muscles were aching in my back, and overall I wasn’t feeling very positive. Just the thought of sitting down at my computer to record this podcast felt impossible.
So instead of forcing myself to do what I didn’t actually have the capacity to do, I paused and checked in with myself.
I knew I had a choice: I could dive into work and my to do list and probably have a pretty grumpy day... OR I could really honor and take care of myself first, even though I had a million things to do on my list.
I knew I needed to slow down and take care of myself.
So I tidied up my room and chose a YogaGlo class (I highly recommend Yogaglo if you struggle with keeping up a home yoga practice) and I found a class with Elena Brower on how to, "Value yourself to Master Yourself."
The whole class was about taking the time to take care of yourself.
I realized, "I really need to have an innate sense of value in order to take care of and fall in love with myself..."
Owning my innate value has been a big part of my inner work over the last few years, and I have come a long way. Valuing myself shows up in how much money I earn, how healthy my relationships are, what I choose to wear and how I create the environment around me.
What I found was: valuing myself is a choice. And you too can choose to start valuing yourself, right here, right now. After my morning yoga practice and self-care time, I felt SO much better and I sat down to record this podcast feeling so filled up with love that I couldn’t wait to share with you all.
In this episode, I share:
There are only 5 days left to receive $100 off when you join Vision. I hope to see you there!

Have you ever met someone where you just felt like you knew him or her even if you've never met before? This is how I felt when I met yoga teacher and retreat leader, Sarah-Jane Perman. Sarah-Jane wandered into a workshop I was leading at Burning Man and the whole time I kept wondering, "How do I know this person?"
After the workshop, we chatted and found we had lots to talk about. I discovered Sarah-Jane was on a mission to open people's hearts around the world by leading goddess retreats from Australia to Bali, to Tulum, Nicaragua and beyond.
I was immediately drawn to her positivity and ability to trust in the universe, so I invited her to an interview on the Rising Women Leaders podcast.
In this episode we talk about:
"She took a leap and built her wings on the way down." Links in this episode:

This week on the Rising Women Leaders podcast, I interviewed yoga teacher and published author, Kimber Simpkins.
I met Kimber when we were teaching yoga at the same studio in Berkeley three years ago. I instantly fell in love with her classes, her singing with the harmonium, and her passion of writing.
Since I've known Kimber, she finished writing her book, self-published it, and then signed a contract to re-release it with a national publisher. Her book, Full: How I learned to Satisfy My Insatiable Hunger and Feed My Soul, is now available online and in bookstores across the country. Her next book, 52 Ways to Love Your Body is officially coming out in January.
As a writer and yoga teacher myself, I was excited to sit down with Kimber and hear more about her story, how she published her first book, and what role vulnerability and self-love played in the process. In this episode we talk about:
Kimber leaves us with the question, "What is one thing you can do today to show your body that you care?"
I'd love to hear what you'll do in the comments.
You can learn more about Kimber, her upcoming retreats and 30 Day Love Your Body Course here.

Welcome to the Rising Women Leaders podcast!
“If you celebrate your differentness, the world will, too. It believes exactly what you tell it—through the words you use to describe yourself, the actions you take to care for yourself, and the choices you make to express yourself. Tell the world you are one-of-a-kind creation who came here to experience wonder and spread joy. Expect to be accommodated.” ~ Victoria Moran
It's time to celebrate all we are and all we came to do.
I see an awakening in women all around me, especially in the sweet, kind and nurturing ones who are ready to stand up, express themselves and share their voice.
But, I know from personal experience a lot can get in the way when we step up to lead. I myself struggled with sharing my voice as a more timid and sensitive being. However, the world needs more women connected to their soft sensitive nature who are willing to be vulnerable to step up and accurately represent the needs of our world.
I believe you do not need to change who you are to lead, you just need to be supported to face your fears and listen to your intuition to make a bigger impact.
So...I have created my first PODCAST series for Rising Women Leaders.
I will be sharing insights on how to step into courage, self-love, and leadership while staying true to our feminine nature.
I'll also be interviewing leaders and entrepreneurs about how they've faced their fears, created magic in their lives and grown their businesses.
The first episode is now live!
