Today the wonderful residents of Aveo Taringa welcomed me for a special lunch. 5 Minute Friday this week is about the roadworks around Indooroopilly roundabout, erosion stabilisation at Gyatt Park, Little Star Reading, and our biggest citizenship ceremonies yet!
Watch this week's 5 Minute Friday filmed at the Gailey Road, Taringa roundabout. We're talking about the Taringa Community Garden turning 2, the completion of Clarina Street playground, the coveted Walter Taylor Shield, footpaths in St Lucia, and crime in our local area.

We're in Moore Park this morning, where dozens of students from Indooroopilly State School joined in to plant hundreds of trees as part of National Tree Day.
We created an awesome outdoor learning circle for them and now there are trees and plants to really bring the place alive. Check out the video for more.

LOCAL NEWS UPDATE: 5 MINUTE FRIDAY Where's the new school going? The State Government said it would announce by the end of September, the location of a new primary school. 35 days late. Today's local news update video was filmed at Indooroopilly State High School, which is one of the possible sites for the new school. Today, around Australia, hundreds if not thousands of people became new Australians. 23 people chose to have their Australia citizenship ceremony on Australia Day in the Walter Taylor Ward. I was proud and honoured to be the Presiding Officer at the ceremony held at Indooroopilly State High School.
