Jeffrey Feltmann, owner/operator of the Old Milwaukee Club in Ideal Corners is in studio to visit about this historic Lakes Area Club. How did this bar get its name anyway? We're nowhere near Milwaukee! And are you a member of the Whimpie club? Since 1996 Jeffrey has kept the Old Milwaukee Club pretty much as original as possible. There's a full menu and pizzas to order with a very unique inside atmosphere. The Old Milwaukee Club has been in existence in one form or another since 1928 so you know from moment you step inside that it's going to be special! If you've never been to the Old Milwaukee Club, Jeff says that within an hour you'll be talking with everyone else about everything. That's just the kind of relaxed bar that it is. Pubcast Live has another first! We're interviewing CC Miles, owner of the newest bar in Brainerd! CC's Bar is a classic example of "They don't build 'em like that anymore!" This building was built in the early days of NE Brainerd and has the instant charm that comes with that. It has been carefully restored to the original brick walls and the early reviews are that it has a Great Feel! CC is building out a patio behind the bar that should be ready soon. They have live music planned starting June 5th. The bar top itself is a reason enough to explore CC's. There's a large selection of Craft Cocktails, and ice cold beers ready for your visit. Nadine Albrecht sits down with Pubcast Live to talk about The Spalding bar in Crosby, Mn. Nadine and her husband Chris purchased the bar 7 years ago and haven't stopped making big changes since. The bar has a 20 line tap system that has a mountain bike built in. There are rooms for rent upstairs for people enjoying the recreation area. Meat raffles , Bar Bingo at 6:00 on Sundays, and POWER HOUR! $2.00 bottled beers or any rail drink from 8:00 - 9:00 on Fridays and Saturdays and that's just scratching the surface! It's nice to have the seasonal bikers around, but Nadine and Chris are most grateful for their local customers. After all, The Spalding is and always has been "The Local Bar" or as it's affectionately called "The Ding" Discover all the changes in Crosby soon, and be sure to head into the Spalding for a bit while you're there!

We visit with Dan Meyer and Mark Lelwica and discuss the move from Brainerd and all the new changes! They call it "The Roundhouse Experience". Chris Dunmire is no stranger to the bar business. As a young man he did all the chores from dock boy to kitchen staff. It's this breadth of experience that helps him understand what it takes to run a successful bar/grill that customers will want to come to again and again. He has certainly done that with Dunmires Bar & Grill just East of Brainerd. We discuss the trend to more specialty drinks and specialty glasses to serve them in! Thor is foiled by a strange looking Japanese glass and is slightly embarrased by that! Chris is also owner of the new Rocky Bottom Bar & Grill at the Y in Garrison. Coming soon will be bands outdoors, better outdoor seating, and more. Dunmire's is most focused on the quality of their food in the Grill and the friendliness of their staff. Episode #8 Boomerang Bar -- Fun!
Pubcast Live heads South of the Lakes Area for a visit with Kelsie and Vanessa Popp from the Boomerang Bar near Little Falls, Mn. On your travels past the Army tank near Camp Ripley on Hwy 371 you may have noticed an unimposing building on the West side of the highway with a big sign that says BOOMERANG. This bar is a true find! There's dancing, spinning wheels, Axe handles, horseshoes, birthday balls, and a large patio out back complete with fire pits. It's a family run place where you're always welcome. Kelsie and Vanessa claim to have the best customers in the world! After visiting with them and listening to some Boomerang stories, Thor and Ken are in no position to argue with them. Besides, we would certainly lose if we did! Plus, they have backup..... it's Clint Eastwood!
