Sometimes, the quiet does not end. It transforms.

In Episode 104, we slowed everything down. We took a breath, stepped away from the noise and allowed the music to bring us back toward ourselves.

But somewhere beyond that stillness, the sky began to change.

A low rumble appeared in the distance. The clouds gathered. Amplifiers warmed up. Guitar

strings started to vibrate—and the magical music bus pulled back onto the road.

This is Episode 105 of the Overlooked Tracks Podcast, and for this episode we are following the Signals Beneath the Noise.

These are independent artists creating progressive, alternative, psychedelic and cinematic rock—musicians still building their roads, finding their listeners and pushing their music beyond familiar borders.

We begin gently, but do not get too comfortable.

There is rolling thunder ahead.

You are listening to the Overlooked Tracks Podcast—music you’ve been overlooking.

For the last few episodes we've traveled across cities, countries, languages, cultures, and sounds. We've crossed oceans.

We've ridden the Magical Music Bus through neon streets, underground clubs, jazz cafés, rooftop parties, and late-night train stations. But this time around...The bus is parked.

No passports required. No customs. No destination. Just a moment to remember who we are when the world gets quiet. This episode is known as "The Space Between Songs."

It's dedicated to anyone who's been moving too fast.

Anyone carrying a little too much.

Anyone trying to remember the person they were before the notifications, before the deadlines, before the endless scrolling. Tonight we're slowing down.

Taking a breath. And spending some time with artists who deserve far more attention than they're getting. No superstar playlists. No Top 100 countdowns. No algorithms telling us what we should hear. Just great music. Music created by artists whose work quietly changes lives one listener at a time.

The road begins quietly. No loud announcements. No flashing lights. Just the soft hum of an engine… and the sense that something new is unfolding.

This time around, the Magical Music Bus rolls into 4 countries — not with noise, but with rhythm. Places where melodies feel ancient, magical and futuristic at once. Outside the window, colors move like brushstrokes across these lands. Cars and Motorcycles hum around many cities, and conversations drift through the air. Somewhere in the distance, a soulful voice rises and refuses to be ignored.

We’re not chasing charts this season. We’re chasing the dreams hidden inside melodies, the desires carried in basslines, the quiet parts of ourselves that only music seems to understand. Let these tracks meet you where you are — and maybe help you discover who you’re becoming.

From neo-soul whispers to indie R&B reflections and pop confessions that linger long after the last note, this journey moves through voices meant to travel beyond borders. So take a seat. Let the world soften.

Find your window. You’re riding with the Overlooked Tracks Podcast. Season Seven — On the Road Again.

The journey is already in motion.

This episode was written somewhere between cobblestone streets and quiet realizations.
Between missed turns, long walks, train windows, and moments where time slowed down just enough to let the truth catch up.

Italy didn’t ask me to change.
It asked me to pay attention.

Episode 100 lives in that awareness.

This is Episode 100.
No flex. No fireworks.
Just heart, breath, and truth.

This one isn’t about talking over tracks.
It’s about letting the music carry the weight—
like a soul finally exhaling.

This episode is a love letter.
To myself.
To you.
To anyone learning how to stay standing when life tries to fold them.

The heart of Italy is beating in 4/4 time — and it’s louder than ever.

In Episode 99 of Overlooked Tracks, host Kenny Chiba takes you on a sonic adventure through Italy’s underground house and electronic scene, where passion meets precision and the dancefloor becomes pure art. From deep, hypnotic grooves to soulful club anthems, this mix is a journey through rhythm, emotion, and the unmistakable Italian flair that makes every beat feel alive.

Featuring some incredible artists including Marco Faraone, Fabio Florido, RISE, Daddy’s Groove, Deborah De Luca, and more — Electric Amore builds from silky 90 BPM moods to 120 BPM of pure nightlife energy. It’s a moment of deep love for the craft — a celebration of DJs who spin stories instead of just songs.

Turn up the volume, close your eyes, and let these Italian frequencies move you from the first drop to the final fade.

Episode 100 is on the horizon — a historic milestone for the Overlooked Tracks Podcast — but this time around, it’s all about the revolution of rhythm, the spark of soul, and the power of Electric Amore.

🎶 Episode 97: “Fusion at the Edge: Turkey’s Sonic Mosaic”
Where continents hum, and music is the bridge.

🌀 Ride the Bosphorus with me.
I’m Kenny Chiba — your cosmic bus driver and sonic guide — and in this episode we plunge deep into Turkey’s soundscape. Here, East and West don’t just touch — they collide, converse, shake hands, and remix. The Bosphorus isn’t just geography — it’s pulse, it’s groove, it’s the tubular vein where melodies flow between worlds.
On this journey, tradition coexists with jazz fusion, rock chops echo in ancient alleys, and rap/hip-hop voices carry modern rebellion on old winds.

✨ In Episode 97 of the Overlooked Tracks Podcast
We let Anatolian psych, jazz fusion, and boundary-breaking hybrids rise — from Anatolian soil, through crowded bazaars, out into the cinematic sky.

What’s good, fam?

You’re now tuned in to Episode 96 of the Overlooked Tracks Podcast. And guess what? We're still riding aboard the Magical Music Bus — your one-way ticket to the most vibrant, vital, and overlooked sounds from around the globe.

Last stop? We were deep in Chile, where protest anthems and Andean soul lit the sky with revolution and rhythm.

But this time? We’ve crossed oceans and landed in the bold, beating heart of West Africa — Nigeria.

This ain’t just another pit stop — it’s a cultural collision, a sonic uprising, and a global vibe transmission from Lagos to the world.

I’m your host Kenny Chiba — your music selector, narrator, and guide through the grooves less traveled. And this time around, we’re tuning into a musical landscape that refuses to be defined. This is more than Afrobeats. It’s alté, afro-fusion, spiritual jazz, rebel soul, and DIY cool.

Buckle up. The Magical Music Bus has no brakes. Let’s go!!

There’s a sound rising from the foot of the Andes… not one sound, actually—but many.

In the shadows of Chile’s history, in the glow of its digital future, a vibrant chorus is coming alive. It doesn’t play by genre rules. It doesn’t chase algorithm gold. It breathes in protest, poetry, and passion. And for this episode, The Overlooked Tracks Podcast is tuning straight into it.

This is Episode 95, and we’re riding the magical music bus right into the heart of Chile—where independent artists are flipping tradition on its head and remixing cultural roots into something fierce, strange, and deeply human.

Each track on this episode is a postcard. Each lyric a landmark. Each beat a brushstroke of Chile’s ever-shifting, soul-filled soundscape.

Because music? It’s not just what we hear—it’s where we go.

They say the blues is a ghost genre—faded into vinyl grooves and backroom dive bars. They say it’s been overtaken, out-streamed, and out-hyped by shinier sounds and algorithm-friendly beats.

But let me tell you something, fam... the blues didn’t fade. It just lit a cigarette, leaned against the amp, and watched the world catch up.

This is Episode 94 of Overlooked Tracks, and this time around, we’re not just spinning records—we’re testifying. We’re tuning in to a genre that’s not just alive... but kicking with fresh boots and electric grit.

The DNA of the blues is everywhere—threaded through rock, soaked into soul, sampled in hip-hop, and sizzling inside Americana like being served some southern fried kitchen on a hot sunny day.

Festivals are booking blues acts again. Venues are filling up. And young cats are out there bending notes with fresh pain and wild hope.

For this episode, we’re gonna take a ride—from Maxwell Street grit in Chicago to global groove. We're shining the spotlight on artists who are pushing the genre forward without forgetting where it came from.

Because the blues? The blues is not some museum relic. It’s a living, growling, adaptable spirit. It changes suits, but never loses its edge.

Now turn that volume up. It’s time to feel the weight and the wonder... of the blues!

Normally, I'd be heading off to a new destination around the world to bring you music from different regions, but life had other plans—I ended up catching COVID and was down for about a week and a half. The past few months have been wonderfully lazy, with the summer heat making it hard to get much done. Life gets so busy during this season, both personally and professionally. But one thing that has kept me going is music. Music is such an inspiring force, especially when things get tough and hard to navigate. For me, your host of the Overlooked Tracks Podcast, Kenny Chiba, life without music would be, well, quite dull.

Just like in episode #81, we’re keeping it simple and pure with sounds you might have heard before or perhaps new artists showcasing their talents. Either way, the music will be fresh, and as you let these vibes wash over you, feel free to reach out to the artists and ask for more. It’s straightforward and to the point.

In this episode, we're stripping things down and focusing on what truly matters: the music. There's something powerful about simplicity, about cutting through the noise and distractions to get to the heart of what we're here for—the sound, the rhythm, the melody that moves us. By keeping it simple, we're allowing the music to speak for itself, to take center stage without any unnecessary frills or complications. This approach not only highlights the raw beauty of the tracks we’re sharing but also reminds us of why we fell in love with music in the first place. It's about connecting with the essence of sound, the emotions it evokes, and the stories it tells.

On a personal level, keeping it simple is also a way to find peace within ourselves. Life can be chaotic, filled with demands, stress, and endless to-do lists. By simplifying our focus—whether it's in music or in life—we can create a space where we can breathe, reflect, and reconnect with what brings us joy. It’s about letting go of the unnecessary and embracing what truly matters, finding harmony in the basics. By doing so, we not only enhance our appreciation for the music but also cultivate a sense of calm and contentment within ourselves.

"The G-Funk Era" emerged in the early 1990s on the West Coast, particularly in California, and made a significant mark in hip-hop history. This period introduced the unique subgenre of G-Funk, blending elements from funk, R&B, and gangsta rap. Its influence extended beyond music and had a lasting impact on both the hip-hop genre and popular culture.

G-Funk's signature sound is defined by its use of funky instrumentation, including groovy basslines, lush synthesizers, and talk box effects, all reminiscent of 1970s funk music. This blend creates a smooth and laid-back quality that sets G-Funk apart from other hip-hop styles.

Dr. Dre played a central role in shaping the G-Funk Era, with his 1992 album "The Chronic" being a cornerstone of the subgenre's definition. Other artists like Snoop Dogg and Warren G also made significant contributions, producing iconic tracks celebrated for their catchy hooks and the seamless fusion of funk-inspired instrumentals with rap lyrics.

The G-Funk Era's influence endures, with contemporary hip-hop and rap artists drawing inspiration from its unique sound, style, and thematic content. In summary, "The G-Funk Era" is a historic chapter in the evolution of hip-hop, marked by the fusion of funk and gangsta rap, and its lasting impact on the West Coast hip-hop scene and the broader music industry.

I was having a conversation with someone and the subject was Japanese animation or simply “anime” and I was learning more about anime from the conversation than I could ever thought of.  I’m a casual fan of the art form and interested in learning more about the fascination and popularity of anime.  Damn, I have a lot to learn because there is SO MUCH to see.  I did however discover the connection between Japanese anime and music – how appropriate because of course this is the Overlooked Tracks podcast - a music podcast.

Come to find out there’s music to be listened and a music genre folks need to pay attention to, especially if they’re big fans of anime and even if you’re not a big fan, the Anison music genre may be a good start for you to learn more about the music and anime. Maybe you can call it “Killing two birds with one stone”.

From the words of Herbie Hancock - the jazz maestro himself, being in the moment is the best way to stay in the now, keep your feet set on the present time and just being in peace with yourself and your surroundings.  Just like the words I uttered, the music genre of Jazz can keep your mood stable, because you yourself may understand that life can take you on a trip to confusion and a couple of episodes of “AS THE WORLD TURNS” (if you understand about the so-called phenomenon of the American Soap Opera) comes into play.  This is where Jazz comes in, not with the continuous analyzing of things, but the opposite, the tapping into the mind and finding your simple and your harmony within your spirit.

In order to assist you on that search of tranquility, these four tracks of Jazz will certainly guide you to greatness. Similar to the last episode on mental stability, we will focus on the spirit.

I said on episode #39 that I need to determine if another trip on the magical music bus is required.  That has been decided and I am staying my butt at the Genre Media Group Studios (our parent company) because it’s cold outside and gas is expensive for the moment because the world economy is getting back into the swings of things, but unfortunately many things have been rising in pricing.

Then came the perfect music genre to celebrate the 40th episode of the Overlooked Tracks Podcast and this time we’re celebrating the BOOM-BAP sounds of TRIP-HOP.  Trying to find a good way to describe this music genre because most websites I found all stated the same thing:  Trip-Hop is dead!!  Just like other music genres from previous episodes, music is not dead unless the world decides not to hear it anymore!!  Well, I found six music artists that says otherwise - Trip Hop is alive and thriving and a reemerged form of the music is here to demonstrate its power.  Thanks to the masters of Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky and DJ Krush (just to name a few), displaying the maestros of sounds, lyric and beats of Trip Hop.

We’re about to go in the opposite direction from the last episode of steady, rhythmic and bluesy to the HYPE, SERIOUSLY INTENSE and about to go HEAD-BANGER OFF SOME EDM or Electronic Dance Music and a sample or two of Techno (which is an element of EDM nowadays).  My name is Kenny Chiba and this is an Overlooked Tracks Moment.  Haven’t done one of these episodes in a while because it is SO MUCH MUSIC to cover all around the world, but it’s definitely needed to touch on some serious EDM.

We're gonna tell you right now, this collection of music for this 37th episode of the Overlooked Tracks Podcast is a most difficult episode, and I am know for sure there are some of the greats in Blues Music that will be left out of this list of blues music for the podcast.

After juggling for weeks on what to do with the selection, it was decided the best way to display this fine music genre is to give you a dab of what Blues Music is today – the foundation of great sound and give you again a portion on what Blues Music is heading.  If these picks are indication of the future of Blues Music, the music genre is in good hands.

Once again, this selection is not a list of the greatest of all time, which is SO impossible to do and such a waste of time, but we’re just going to display a small sample of sound we believe you should get some interest in and see where the rabbit hole can take you.

The magical music bus is on its last trip to the areas of the Middle East and Central Asia and what was found was gold and it was an inspiring trip because of the experience gained from the three episodes broadcasted throughout the globe dedicated to the music being displayed by these artists.  Also learned so much history on the importance of music in this part of the world and what type of importance it has this current time.

Though it took some digging into the music crates in order to find the music tracks, but again like I stated in the last episode, I am glad I did and that makes it easy for you to simply listen and adore.

I must tell you that this has been a rough ride in the magical music bus through Central Asia and the Middle East this time around. From the constant digging in the music crates of record shops (both online and the physical stores), that was an adventure in itself.  I am telling you ladies and gentlemen, when I tell you there are tons of music in the world, THERE ARE LITERALLY tons of music to discover.  From this experience, I, Kenny Chiba am certainly happy to dig and dig and dig some more and communicate with some great musicians desiring to share their craft with the world.  Hence, the reason of the Overlooked Tracks podcast – To display and help enhance your music library with music you’ve simply been overlooking.

Hello everyone and welcome to the 32nd episode of the Overlooked Tracks podcast and we are back on the magical music bus focusing on areas like central And southeast Asia and the Middle East and I would honestly say this trip has been quite bumpy.  Reason is because though there is so much music in this part of the world, it was hard to buy the music in order to share the music being found.  So I had to change it up a little to play music that was made or inspired from the music in Other parts of Asia and the Middle East.

For the next episode, our line-up will play music from Japanese artists with smooth music giving their blend of great rhythm and sounds. Until the next episode.........Adore!!
