Songs have always been there for Moorea Masa (pronounced More-ray-uh Mah-sa), being raised in the musical mecca of Portland, Oregon. The daughter of an Italian immigrant father and a Black mother born abroad, this singer/songwriter/guitarist has been making music for as long as she can remember. At fifteen, she was already looking for chances to perform by sneaking into local clubs, where she was lovingly adopted into the vibrant community of Portland musicians. Moorea has toured the world and shared a stage with artists k.d Lang, Allen Stone, Big Wild, Rachael Price (Lake Street Dive) The Motet, El Vy, Nick Waterhouse, headlined tours in Europe, and supported other artists including Corrine Bailey Rae, Emily King, Lawrence, The Dip, Lady Wray, Bernhoft and many more.

Sydney Kale is a student, author of The Love Language of Plants, and human in love with the world. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Wisdom Studies from Ubiquity University, with an academic focus on plant intelligence, phenomenology, and co-authorship with plants and the more-than-human. In 2021, Sydney completed an M.S. in Environmental Studies and Sustainability from Unity College. And in 2023, she completed an M.A. in Movement, Mind, and Ecology from Schumacher College. Through her academic studies and personal explorations, Sydney has been introduced to an enchanted world of relationality, kinship, and care.
Through practices of co-authorship with the more-than-human world, guided by collaborative becoming, connection, and attunement, Sydney relearned what it means to exist in the world and to be a part of an entangled ecology of communion. Plants have taught her what it means to be plant, and what it means to be human. Her academic writing and creative explorations are an expression of the relationships she shares with plants and her experience as a sensuous embodied human being.

Annabeth is the ethereal force behind Anmara, a project merging organic synth-pop, dreamy ambient folk, and “post new-age” into sonic catharsis. Echoing strains of Enya and Florence & The Machine, she invites us on a journey of emotional exploration and beckons us not just to listen, but to dive deep and fall in love with life anew.

Before beginning work as the Senior Oceans Campaigner for the Center for Biological Diversity in 2022, Brady played key roles in fighting off multiple waves of approvals for expanded federal offshore drilling under multiple Presidential Administrations, decisively defeating the largest offshore drilling proposal in history under former President Trump. In his work with the nonprofit Oceana, he also succeeded in securing kwy support for a national ban on shark fin sales and trade in the United States. His current work involves holding the existing oil industry accountable for the damage they have caused at sea, and forcing them to shut down their dangerous operations.
Brady is a competitive freediver and has broken US national record 13 times, and North American continental records 4 times.
As a passionate waterman and environmental activist, Brady has spent much of his life in water sports, marine biology studies, and ocean conservation. He graduated from UNC Wilmington with Honors in Marine Biology and went on to study for a short time on the Great Barrier Reef.
He believes that human health, community empowerment, and ocean health are inseparable. As a competitive free diver and body surfer, he knows that the power of experience in the ocean can motivate us to protect it at all costs.
After flying over the BP Oil Disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, Brady made a vow: to eliminate the threat of the oil industry at sea so that life can thrive and recover in the absence of seismic airgun blasts and oil spills.

Joanna John was born and raised in Durham, NC, which is the native and stolen land of the Lumbee, Skarukreh/Tuscarora, Cheraw, Occaneechi, and Shakori Nations. Her first spiritual home was at Watts Street Baptist Church where years before, her grandfather was the minister and had a statue of the Buddha sitting on his desk- she grew up with a belief in life’s goodness and a knowing that she was held in grace.
A transformative event at age nineteen left Joanna wrestling with life’s big questions and feeling the sense of groundlessness that we all feel at one point or another. Most therapists did not know how to relate to her experience in a way that felt true or empowering to her. She did, however, find mindfulness during this time and it became a refuge.
Joanna later received degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and taught in the NC public school system before having her first child.
When she became a mother, Joanna experienced a resurgence of a familiar anxiety along with a strong pull to understand my inner world and connect with what she calls “God” in a much deeper way. She was fortunate enough to find a therapist who related to her experience with trust, respect, and reverence and it was then that she began to find her way. Joanna developed the skills to change her relationship to thoughts, to learn more about how nervous systems work, and to practice surrendering to a deeper knowing.
Compelled to learn more and help others, Joanna completed The Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program in 2023, a two year professional training program for teaching awareness and compassion based practices with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. This program was in partnership with Sounds True and The University of California, Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center. In 2024, she will have completed an additional year of meditation teacher training for guiding individuals in embodied inquiry. Joanna is also committed to being trauma informed, anti-racist, and an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community.
Joanna's primary role is homeschool parent and carving out space for mindfulness and contemplative practices as they are her life’s passion. You can find Joanna in nature with her family, gardening, listening to music, enjoying vegan food, and devouring audiobooks and podcasts.

Stephanie Vlad is a Master’s level Psychologist by trade and human empowerer by birth. She has 15+ years of experience in the talk therapy realm, working in community, nonprofit, and private settings, and has been in solo private practice since 2017. Understanding that we are whole beings with mind + body + soul, she felt that her therapy practice was missing a huge part of the big picture and took another leap into opening an embodiment studio to reach more people through movement offerings. Her mission with the Embodiment Studio is to help people come home to themselves.
Her belief is that we are born with all that we need inside of us and require a little reminding that it is safe to listen and trust that inner knowing. She strives to help her clients work through their struggles, connect to what is important to them and create a life that brings fulfillment.
She has been told that she is a direct, at times, forceful nurturer, which stems from her ability to see your greatest potential and to take up space in your brain as your inner cheerleader. She talks loudly, most often with her hands and big facial expressions, and does not shy away from showing you that she too is an authentic human who feels deeply.

A native North Carolinian, Bridger feels most at home immersed in nature. Being that WE ARE NATURE, she finds it to be our best teacher and healer. A lifelong gardener and long-time educator, Bridger delights herself in building healthy ecosystems (hello happy frogs and lizards) and community-focused classrooms (hello kind, supportive kiddos). Following her heart, she is merging these two passions by providing discovery and learning opportunities in her outdoor learning environment. Working in collaboration with the physical world as a learning tool and teacher, she aims to build connection and relationship to nature; as well as among children themselves.
Bringing joy, connection, and environmental awareness to her community is what she hopes to achieve through her nature based learning community, Wild Earth Wonder. When we have a relationship with nature, we are more inclined to advocate for and protect it.

The Blonde Priestess is the highest version of my self where I have dedicated my being and innate tools to be an open channel of light and love to flow forward! It is a space that I have created for others to learn, feel connected and inspired to be the highest version of themselves- finding their inner priest or priestess too!
I am here to help serve through my lifelong study of the mama Earths medicines like cacao, the stars, human design, tarot, relationships and mindfulness. I express and operate as a human design coach, astrological advisor, tarot reader and spiritual consultant for clients from the furthest stretches of the world like New Zealand, Ireland, Alaska to right here in my backyard of Los Angeles and now currently North Carolina! I offer virtual and in person 1-1 readings and mentorship for clients, as well as opportunities for the community to come together in cacao ceremonies, sharing circles and group mediations.
It is my belief that a full life is attained through connections and our relationships- in both love and in suffering. As humans we require both and as awoken souls we must lean into others in order to grow and fulfill our divine contracts. Thank you for elevating and expanding with me!
With love,
Christina Lanae

Lauren Burke, of PowerHouseHappy and The High Vibe Collective, believes we are all born with Magic and a Mission. Through gratitude and choice, we are able to connect to our magic (over and over again), get clear on our mission, and move faithfully, courageously, and joyfully into action.
Lauren's mission is to hold space and collaborate in creating experiences that allow people to practice stepping into their innate power, connect to their unique magic, get clear on their mission and move into full-hearted, soul-filling, glitter-giving action.

The music of Høly River carries the message of humanity’s need for reconnection with the earth. Mystically political and wholeheartedly grassroots this DIY band finds themselves playing on large festival stages as well as backyard fire pits of intentional communities around the world.
Høly River was founded by multi-instrumentalists Laney Sullivan and Jameson Price. Fusing together the pulse of drone pop, worldly instrumentation, this experimental music would best be described as a landscape, as a biome all its own. This musical phenomenon has come to be known as, Earth folk, a type of music inspired thematically by the natural environment: flora, fauna, soil, stars, and the human experience. From harmonium engulfed melodies to mouth-harp stomp grass, Høly River taps into an embodied and innate celebration of internal and external worlds, attempting to bring them closer together with each beat. On record or in-person, a listener is entranced in the soaring vocal ballads bathed in the moonlight of dance beats and folk-inspired roots.

Ryanna Battiste is a city-girl turned nature-lover living on family land in rural South Carolina who is healing generations of chronic-illness with a lifestyle centered around nature, family, and clean eating. She used to be exclusively focused on nutrition as a vehicle for healing and still believes the food you choose to eat (and especially what you choose not to eat!) is a powerful part of the journey. However, food is just one piece of the multidimensional experience of healing.
In her 8 years as a Duke Certified Integrative Health Coach with a keen understanding of what motivates people to change and grow, Ryanna has worked with people experiencing every type of dis-ease. At the same time, she has been navigating her own way through chronic illness and seasons of pain.
What she has learned is that healing is an intricate practice involving all aspects of our being - our body, our mind, and our spirit. Ryanna believes that forgiveness is a critical tool for transformation, trauma can be resolved through the breath, your body is incredible, and a little bit of plant medicine can go a long way!

As the Director of Science, Research and Academic Partnerships for Plastic Ocean Project, Inc. as well as the Executive Director, Bonnie Monteleone is a researcher who has collected plastic marine samples globally including four of the five main ocean gyres, the Caribbean, and has extended this work to Pyramid Lake, outside of Reno, Nevada. Monteleone completed her first field study exploration in the North Atlantic Gyre in July 2009 in collaboration with Maureen Conte, PhD. Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and Bermuda Institute of Ocean Science (BIOS). In the fall of 2009, Monteleone accompanied Algalita Marine Research Foundation’s 10-year resampling of the North Pacific Gyre, quantifying the rate of plastic marine debris growth to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, sampling a transect of 3,460 nautical miles (nm).
In 2010, she continued her North Atlantic study resampling the same region in the North Atlantic. In fall of 2010, she joined 5 Gyres Institute in a first ever South Atlantic transect sampling for pelagic marine debris traveling 4,270 nm from Brazil to South Africa. In 2012, Monteleone collected samples from the South Pacific as part of the film project, A Plastic Ocean. To date, she has five years of data sets from the North Atlantic. A total of 217 surface samples were collected from all four oceans. Monteleone collaborates with Charles Moore, founder of the Algalita Marine Research Foundation (AMRF), Dr. Marcus Eriksen and Anna Cummings, co-founders of 5 Gyres Institute, Dr. William J. She collaborates with Drs. Pamela Seaton, Brooks Avery, Susanne Brander, and Alison Taylor at UNCW.
Bonnie is also an accomplished artist, turning some of the plastic she collects on her voyages into modern artistic masterpieces. This work story boards her research and has become a traveling art exhibit - What goes around comes around. On this episode, I am talking with my friend, Maria Borghoff. Her and I met several years ago in the local yoga community. I've attended as well as co-hosted workshops with Maria, and always feel super inspired after being in her presence.
Maria has studied with master teachers of Integral Yoga, Qigong, Tibetan Buddhism, Ayurveda, Reiki, Classical Music, Death Support, Mental Health Advocacy, and Social Work.
As the director of Rhythm Art & Yoga School, Maria provides personal and professional mentorship through yoga teacher training and healing artist residency. Maria works with beginner students, established teachers, emerging artists, and licensed therapists. She spends her time singing, writing, dancing, making music, and creating art. Maria’s melodic voice is deeply relaxing, ancient, and “other-worldly,” and students describe her teaching style as intelligent, intuitive, healing, uplifting, compassionate, grounded, thought-provoking, and inclusive.
During our conversation, Maria and I talk about goddess psychology, the concepts of harmony and dissonance, the rhythms of life and the earth, and so much more.

This reminds me of a technique called "The Morning Pages" from "The Artist's Way". Basically, you write anything that comes to mind in stream of consciousness writing for a set number of pages or time. Just let it all flow out as tangled as your thoughts may be. After practicing this technique, it really clears the mind and frees up space for new ideas and present moment awareness. In a field where musicians and rappers have become increasingly devoted to promoting more of their image and less of themselves, Danny Thomas II, known as Louis., is building a reputation by being his honest self. Louis. aims to promote innovation and honesty in his music.
The titular Wilmington, NC rapper, producer, and poet treads the line between socialite and activist, choosing to focus his message on the complexities of the moral and mental grey area that all people live in.

Liana Belanich recently opened Prana Salt Cave after living in Wilmington almost 15years. She arrived from New York not sure of who she was or what she would do. She decided that she would continue her education; expanding on her associates degree. She chose to earn a Bachelor’s in Business Management from UNCW. After graduating in December of 2012 she continued to search for what she wanted. Dabbling in sales, marketing and continuing to work in the service industry, Liana searched for healing and a meaningful purpose. She decided to get her 200hr Kunga yoga teacher certification from Wilmington Yoga Center in 2015. From there her love for health and wellness continued to expand. She started her 500hr certification while opening her mind to new ideas. She came across salt caves and realized this would be something special for the Wilmington community to have. She could continue to learn about holistic modalities and share them with everyone. Liana could continue to learn and grow while creating a safe place for others to do the same. After 2.5 years of manifesting, promoting and asking for help from family and friends; Liana was able to open the doors to Prana Salt Cave on August 24th 2019. Cameron Tinklenberg aka ALLIN. is releasing his second EP – “Lossy Matte” – a record that’s lush, effusive, chaotic, and introspective in equal measure. The record finds ALLIN. carving out a unique space amongst the litany of jazz- inflected electronic producers. “Lossy Matte” juxtaposes the textures and emptiness one encounters on a blank canvas with the playful distortions of digital compression; inviting us to explore our own self-image in the spaces in-between.
ALLIN’s last EP, “Ambedo Sessions”, was self-released in the Spring of 2018. The album was said to incorporate the rich synth textures of Flume with slouching Dilla-esque beats. Hailing from the wetlands of North Carolina, Tinklenberg has opened up for hip-hop artists such as Lupe Fiasco, CeeLo Green, Nappy Roots, J-Swiss, Wordsworth, and others. He has also played alongside prominent jazz musicians such as Herman Burney, Delfeayo Marsalis, and Joe Chambers. He was the co-founder of The Coastal Collective, Temple5, the Valedictorians, all which are well known NC-based jazz/hip-hop groups. He also co-founded the Beats & Coffee record label, which produces a steady flow of blissed-out study beats.
Tinklenberg now resides in Toronto, Ontario, where he’s been studying music technology and digital media development. The fast-passed mashup of scenes and ideas has quietly transformed his music practice. As he continues to immerse himself into the ever changing musical environment that is Toronto, his compositional sense seems to have shifted into a more diverse and broad palette. Tinklenberg’s newest work is itself a testament to his ongoing change and growth.

Where is your life do you experience rhythm? Are there ways that you can create more rhythm in your life through routines, rituals, and self-care?

Long ago + not so far away a little girl sat in a tiny chair with all of the other boys + girls in her kindergarten class. Soon after the bell had rung, her teacher asked the children to go round-robin around the room to announce their plans. "What do you want to be when you grow up, Jenny?" the teacher asked. When it got to the girl with bangs + brown hair Jenny said, "I want to be an artist, a teacher + a magician." When the little girl was not so small anymore, she realized her dreams were nearly impossible. For one, it is rare that an artist, a teacher nor a writer make ends meet. So throughout high school she settled into what she thought would be an athletic career. She became a track + field captain, even played football on the men's varsity team as the only girl + went to UNCW thinking she'd go for a degree in exercise science. She did for a while until a tragic loss would put her under a tree where for a moment she remembered the little girl -- the artist, the teacher, the magician -- inside. This would change the course of her life. With a major change to Creative Writing Jenny would come back to the story of her life + the stories of others. Upon graduating she started her career as a journalist for a small publication out of Wrightsville Beach where she became the Lifestyles Assignment Editor + Senior Writer + won two first place awards for journalism from the NCPA (North Carolina Press Association). But again, money fell short + drove her to her next career in story-telling as the marketing manager at a historic boutique resort at the same beach. She had no clue what marketing really entailed. She had never taken a proper class on the subject but this is why she could take on the job. It wasn't about selling, the job was about telling the story. Clean + simple. The walls couldn't talk so she leaned her ear to them so that the building steeped in history would come to her + she could talk for them. Later, she became the marketing director at a predominate yoga studio + when that job came to a sudden halt she decided to take work into her own hands + began a creative freelance career that has turned into a creative community where she works with over 20 freelancers on both coasts to create + curate copy, websites, photography, commercials, social media, branding, ads + more for over 50 companies. Three years ago, she established White Rabbit Trips, a mindful events + retreats company that brings meditation to hundreds of men + women each year. Over the years, the group of over 25 teachers from all over the world has raised around $15,000 for charities + individuals in need through fundraisers + events. The group is not limited by time or space as they are here, there + everywhere + have no physical space to bind them to one place more than another. Their mantra is: "The only way out is in". Plans to expand their annual Soul Sisters Sleepover to other cities are in the works + Jenny (otherwise known as Mama Rabbit within the mindfulness community) is in the seed planting stages of adding events + retreats in California. Jenny is also working on a collaboration with artists to pair + curate poetry as art called Vuja De. As she pulls rabbits out of hats, teaches meditation + writes everything from taglines to poetry, it seems she has found her place as the artist, the teacher + the magician.
