Dear listener.

Hi! I hope you are listening to this podcast, because I think that every American should be aware of the failures in the American public education system. As stated in the first episode, I began this project with no clear intent in mind. It was when I stumbled upon the documentary, Waiting For Superman, on Netflix, that really caused me to want to research the reasons why every child can't get a quality education in our country that boasts about itself. I thought I was going to look into how we rank against other countries, but soon found out there is no real way to measure academic success from one country to another. That is when I redirected my focus to diving deep into the failures our own system has. In doing this, I was able to find many articles to show the different systematic troubles in education as well as interview teacher and students at my school who believe there is much work to be done surrounding education across the board. Please listen to these two episodes to make yourself more aware of the issues children are facing in the place where they should flourish the most.

Sincerely,

Jacob Swestka
