We see Jesus as God most clearly in Revelation chapter 1_______“What’s Going On?” prayed Daniel as he and his compatriots were taken into exile by the Babylonian Empire, and Jerusalem was left abandoned. “How can this be happening, Lord?”. The answer God gave him forms the book of Daniel. The Babylonian Empire had risen up to rule God’s people, but yet God’s plan was not lost. There would be three further empires to come as well, and there was more to hear but, for now, Daniel was to seal it up. The Messiah was coming, that was enough to focus on for now.
“What’s Going On?” prayed the early disciples, among them John, as they watched the Romans destroy Jerusalem and its Temple and all the people fled or were removed from the land of Israel. The answer God gives John forms the book of Revelation. The Roman Empire was part of the Babylonian pattern, and now God reveals that all these Empires are ruled by the ancient Serpent from Eden. Yet God’s plan is not lost, and John learns of the triumphs of God’s Kingdom in the centuries to follow.
“What’s Going On?” I have been asked year after year in the school Christian group that I led, as young believers wanted to understand the book of Revelation. I have always told them that in order to understand it they should get to know the rest of the Bible first, as much of the imagery and references in Revelation come from there. “You don’t do your A Levels until you have done your SATS and GCSEs” I would say. Yet still they asked.
So I have set myself the task of seeing whether it is possible to teach the message of the whole Bible using the Book of Revelation as the lens to look through. As each image is introduced, to see where it comes from and what the message behind it is, and to see the structure of Revelation through an understanding of the scriptures rather than through the latest news bulletins.

We continue in Romans 8, verses one to eight. The New Law supercedes the Old Law, which is great news for us!National Speed Limit 1965*: A temporary 70 mphspeed limit was introduced on previous unrestricted roads and motorways for 4 months. This was extended and made permanent in 1967. * The national speed limit in the UK varies depending on the type of vehicle and the road type. For cars, motorcycles, car-derived vans, and dual-purpose vehicles, the national speed limit is 70mph on motorways and dual carriageways with a central barrier, 60mph on single carriageways, and 30mph in built-up areas. When towing a trailer or caravan, the speed limit drops to 50mph on single carriageways and 60mph on dual carriageways and motorways. Here are the specific limits for different types of vehicles:
- Cars, motorcycles, car-derived vans, dual-purpose vehicles: 70mph on motorways and dual carriageways, 60mph on single carriageways, and 30mph in built-up areas.
- Cars towing a trailer or caravan: 50mph on single carriageways, 60mph on dual carriageways, and 60mph on motorways.

2nd in series on knowing and sharing the Gospel
Stupidly, in a talk on Truth I fall in to the trap of quoting with errors a fact I had heard and not evaluated.
Mis-remembered, Psalm118:8 means there are 1188 chapters before it and after it. No, the fact was 1189 chapters in the whole Bible.
Fact not evaluated: Psalm 118 is not the centre chapter of the Bible. There are 594 chapters up to (and including) Psalm 116, and 594 Chapters from 118 on (including Psalm 118). 594+1+594 = 1189
This makes Psalm 117, (not Psalm 118) the centre chapter of the Bible.
The King James Bible has 31,174 verses — an even number — so there is no one "centre" verse: the centre would be a combination of the 15,587th and the 15,588th verses, which do fall within Psalm 118 (Psalm 118:8-9, to be exact). which is still good as together they say:
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans.
9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes. So my statement was based on a truth, mis-remembered and therefore not fully true, apologies. Given the subject of the talk and the thrust of what I was saying, this was a very bad mistake!!!!
The key verse is Ps 118:9 which gives you the number of chapters, Psalm 118 verses 8 and 9 are the centre verses of the Bible.
PS... even now I haven't checked that myself but relied on a 'myth correction' website for the information. Anyone feel like counting all the verses?
