Enjoy this interview from our Breakfast with Bob 2025 Nice World Championship Edition, recorded a few days before Kristian finished 3rd in Nice.

Let’s look at Kristian Blummenfelt’s season so far. At Oceanside 70.3, a flat tire found him in 34th place leaving T2, but his 1: 07: 19 run brought him up to 15th place and gave us a preview of what was to come. Kristian followed that up with a win at Ironman Texas, with another fastest of the day run (2: 34: 03), then another 1: 07 run at 70.3 Pays d’Aix got him the win. Next was the Ironman Frankfurt win, where he ran 2: 30: 59 and went 7: 25: 57. A pretty epic performance, but, as Kristian said in our chat, Frankfurt was great, but: “All anyone remembers about last year is that Patrick won the World Championship.” With the big race of the year still to come, what will everyone remember about Kristian’s year?

Enjoy this interview from our Breakfast with Bob 2025 Nice World Championship Edition, recorded a few days before Gustav finished 2nd in Nice.

Gustav Iden started his season with a 3rd place finish at Oceanside 70.3, and had a great day at Ironman Frankfurt, where he finished 4th after running 2: 38: 54. As soon as he crossed the line and congratulated Kristian Blummenfelt on his win and 2: 30: 59 run, Gustav’s first thought was: How can I make up 8 minutes before Nice? And that has been the mission of the 2022 Ironman World Champion as he heads into the September 14th race.

Casper Stornes, along with Kristian Blummenfelt and Gustav Iden, started his season at Oceanside 70.3, but struggled on the day and finished 24th. After that, he settled into form and since then finished 5th at Ironman Texas, 2nd right behind Kristian at 70.3 Pays d’Aix, and 3rd at Ironman Frankfurt, with a 2: 35: 02 run – second fastest of the day behind Kristian. Casper would love to be a part of another Norwegian Podium, in Nice at the World Championship.

How special is this young man? Alex Yee ran 2:11:08 in his first-ever marathon in London, the fastest marathon ever for a pro triathlete, and he has two Olympic gold medals, one Olympic silver and one Olympic bronze. Add in two Commonwealth gold medals, a classic good old fashioned rivalry with 2024 Olympic silver medalist Hayden Wilde, and his comeback from a brutal 2017 bike crash in Cagliari, an event that he has now won three times. This was just a wonderful conversation with an amazing athlete and person who understands and embraces his role as a leader in our sport. Maybe in 2029 or so we’ll get to see Alex and Hayden go head-to -head on the Kona Coast of Hawaii!!

From our Breakfast with Bob: Stay Home Edition show, enjoy this interview with Gwen Jorgensen.

Gwen Jorgensen didn’t connect with the sport of triathlon until 2010. By 2012 she raced in her first Olympic Games in London and then she became the most dominant triathlete on the planet, winning 13 WTS races in a row before winning the Gold in Rio in 2016. She moved from triathlon to running after becoming a mom and now is hoping to make the 2021 US Olympic team at either the 5,000 or 10,000 meters. Gwen and I also talked about our drive to increase diversity in the sport of triathlon and how we both love Bernard Lyles’ Tri-Masters Program, which has helped Black kids in Chicago learn to swim and participate in triathlons.
