We’re living in a crazy world right now.
There is so much heartache, so much hurt and pain. Have you ever wondered why? Why does God allow me or others to suffer? Why do we have to bear this cross and will it ever end? Find out why on this episode of Among The Roots!
I'm sure most of us can relate to being stagnant with our religion at some point in our lives. Many know this as “going through the motions”. We see so many people who go to church, who are actively participating in the church but their hearts and desires are far from their actions. We go to activities and we do what we're “supposed to” but is it even worth it? Is there some benefit to just going through the motions? `Can we fake it til’ we make it or is it better to just not even bother? Find out today as we dig deeper about going through the motions.
We have often heard about digging deeper and seeking true understanding for ourselves but, have you ever wondered why? Listen in on today's episode as we dive into why it's necessary to dig deeper.
Welcome to Among The Roots. This is a podcast where I, a 22-year-old psychology student, look at The Gospel of Jesus Christ from a more in-depth standpoint. My name is Jacob and I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Growing up in a Christian background, the base level truths that started constructing my religious foundation were influential to me in the developing stages of my journey with God. However, as time progressed, doubts arose and life got harder..., I longed for more. What had always supported my faith was no longer enough.
There is a quote by Rumi, a 13th Century Persian poet that says, “Maybe you are searching among the branches, for what only appears in the roots.” Though the amazing truths I’ve found among the branches have maintained my spiritual foundation, it is not enough.
Through my own personal journey, I have learned that in order to truly maintain that spiritual foundation strong enough to be able to survive this whirlwind of a world we are living in, we must dig deeper. We must go beyond the surface and seek true understanding for ourselves. Throughout this podcast, I invite you to dig deeper with me as I talk about popular gospel topics at a more in-depth level.
