The AgeDEFY way: Recent Episodes

Dawnelle Arthur

Another podcast about aging and how to handle life after 40. AgeDEFY is a "Move Young Live Young" online movement therapy program for people who live with chronic pain and stiffness. It was created by Dawnelle Arthur after she found out she needed both of her hips replaced at the age of 42. After 15 years of teaching yoga, her Doctors told her she was too young to have both hips replaced and suggested she find a new career. They told her to take it easy, get steroid shots, and take painkillers for a few years to avoid surgery. She chose not to listen to her Doctors. This is the AgeDEFY way.

This episode is not as smooth as I would have liked it to be, but oh well. I am going to suck at podcasting until I don't suck. The only way to get better at something is by doing it over and over again. As much as I want to delete this one and start over, I promised myself I would not do this. If I am going to have a podcast, it has to come easy. I can't put too much pressure on myself to be perfect. If I waited for perfection, I would never publish a podcast. If I don't publish, I can't get better. I love a challenge, and this is my new one. If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you. I can't wait to find out who I am after a few months/years of podcasting. This challenge will change me and for that, I am excited. This is how to live young: Create something even if it sucks. Creativity keeps the brain pumping and when the brain is pumping, energy is flowing, and you feel young. So here I am, unedited and no do-overs, in episode 5, talking about a broken hand and how to fall in love with pain. It is what it is, let's fall in love, and keep going.

It may look like I have no pain, but that's not true. Once injured, always injured.
