This week we discuss all the games we acquired just to add them to our backlog, discuss a few new games we've played and then dive into Sony's new subscription model.
Another episode being released at a timed interval? Huzzah! As usual we talk about the games we've been playing but this week we both have a lot to talk about with the souls games we both started. Also the Steam Deck seems to be in the hands of some gamers and we talk about the initial impressions and our thoughts about this new handheld.
We recorded and posted at a pre-planned interval! Success! On this episode we'll discuss who has been successful in tackling their 2022 plans and who hasn't, chat a little on some of the recent acquisitions of Sony and Microsoft and finish it off with the latest Nintendo Direct.
It's a new year with new plans. We'll review what we tried to accomplish last year (even if Adam doesn't want to hear from Jacob) and then see what we would like to play in 2022! Is everything a walking sim? Would we drop everything if Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 was released? Will we once again set a new release plan for our podcast in hopes we'll stick to it this time? Find out the answers to these questions and more on our first episode of 2022!
This year has gone by fast and here we are already talking about our top 10 games we played in 2021. As usual these lists are not limited to games released in 2021 but can be any game we played this year that we felt impacted us the most. We both had lists neither of us could quite predict. Join us as we close out 2021!
Halo Infinite multiplayer and campaign were released and now it's Jacob's chance to spend 2 hours talking about it but Adam won't let him. So we'll talk about Halo a little bit and then other games that were released that we've been playing. In the second half we'll spend time on some of the games that were announced during the game awards!
A new Animal Crossing Direct dropped and we take a look at all the new updates coming to it. But is it enough to bring us back into a game we haven't looked at for 10-12 months?
As usual we also cover what we've been up to since the last episode. Has Adam finished Final Fantasy 7 yet? Has Jacob started Psychonauts 2? Will we mention Game Pass yet again? [Insert click bait style question here]? Join us and find out the answer to these questions and more!
As always we discuss what we have been playing and remind each other that we still have a backlog of games they would like to get to one day. We also take some time to review some highlights from the recent Nintendo Direct.
On this episode of Outrun the Bear, we discuss what we've been up to over the large gap between recordings. This includes some of the games we've been playing on game pass and our experience with Xbox Cloud Gaming
There was also a Nintendo Direct recently for Indie Games and we'll review some of the highlights. At the end we have a deeper conversation into "12 Minutes" which they both recently completed and this will include some spoilers for the game. (You've been warned)
This episode is peppered with many Game Pass recommendations....are you listening to this Microsoft?
It's been a couple weeks since our last episode and since then a few new hardware announcements happened. We'll chat about our opinions on those as well as discuss the current games we're playing while that backlog continues to grow.
We both thought this would be a quick episode but low and behold we got talking and it ended up being a long episode. We both have a few games we've been playing but we spent a large amount of the time chatting about some of the highlights from E3.
As always we talk about some of the games they have completed and the games they started up. Not much to talk about in gaming news so it was expected to be a brief episode but Adam had to tell us the ins and outs of Minecraft and Jacob had to go on about Mass Effect again.
Poor Jacob. He's been trying to purchase the Control game's art-book for ever. It appears to be released in most places, but apparently not for him. We discuss this and many other topics such as: game preservation, Cyberpunk 2077 completed by someone! (episode art is one of our characters) and some declarations that will rock you to your core. Thanks for tuning in!
As usual we start off with what we've been playing and dive into some Nintendo Switch rumours and a PlayStation State of Play roundup and find new games to add to our ever growing backlog.
We talk about all the mistakes that Jacob made in the last episode and then take the time review the games we played. We then take even more time to unravel some of the major announcements that came from BlizzCon and a new Nintendo Direct.
In this first episode of the year we talk about current activities, plans for 2021 and Adam surprises Jacob with a "secret game" !
It's the time of year again! Jacob and Adam review their list of games from 2020 that had the biggest impact on them.
1 year later and we're still podcasting! As a treat we've invited a friend on to talk about his experience playing Hades. We also have our standard banter about the games we're playing which includes some initial thoughts about Cyberpunk 2077.
Join us as we discuss all the games we're playing and how they are all just Diablo with a different skin. We also continue to discuss the new console launches and a few other exciting game announcements.
Just in time for Halloween we are releasing our fantastic annual spooky... wait that would have been a really good idea. But we did not do this - though we do talk about Phasmophobia, the scariest game either of us have played. Adam discovers a new interest in stealthy games and we also cover the recent PS5 interface reveal that has introduced some interesting new features.
Jacob and Adam refrain from talking too much about Hades as Jacob is woefully behind on it but they still find time to cover other games they have been playing like Paper Mario. They also take a look into the PlayStation 5 pricing announcement and compare the approaches of the two major console players.
You'll notice the improvements that have been made over 12 episodes of the podcast. It really shows.
Jacob and Adam continue to discuss their non paying affiliate Microsoft (not a thing) and their recent reveal of details around their new console and services. They also discuss the recent reveals from Nintendo and catch up on their recent gaming including a few games that kept them up at night.
*Adam is very sorry for his poor audio due to a mistake in microphone selection but also Jacob did some loud mouse clicking and he's sorry too. There's also a surprise baby heard in the background. All around an exciting treat for the ears.
Jacob and Adam discuss Microsoft's latest Xbox Series X event and how the next gen console is shaping up. The guys also catch up on what they have been playing and Adam tells he's no longer going to be playing Animal Crossing. Do you believe him?
Jacob brings Adam into the fold of Remedy games with a play-through, and now a talk-about Control. The guys catch-up on various other games that have been played over the last while.
In this Episode Jacob reveals his growing fondness for Playstation, something he hadn't considered until the last couple of years - and together we review the highlights of the June 2020 Playstation 5 reveal event as well as our regular catchup on what's been played!
In this episode, we discuss: needing to do more episodes in a timely fashion, shockingly.. some Animal Crossing updates along with a few other games, and a passionate discussion on mortality in gaming.
We catch-up after a bit of an unintended break and talk about the latest updates in gaming, including the all consuming Animal Crossing that gets its own segment!
Full disclosure: we had to re-record this one due to some technical issues - and it ended up somewhat different, but here we are. Here we talk about what games we've been up to and discuss recent news from Animal Crossing, Console future, and a number of other games coming out shortly.
We talk about what we've been up to for the last couple of weeks and then get into a longer segment around our 1st Annual "this years plan for gaming".
Put on your comfy pants and join us as we review what we've been up to over the past few weeks and look back on our favourite games from the last 10 years.
Join Adam and Jacob as they review their gaming in 2019 and pick their top games for various categories. *Spoiler alert: Skyrim is mentioned at least once.
Join Adam and Jacob as they discuss Pokemon, Halo, Luigi's Mansion 3 and many other divergent topics as they navigate their first episode.
Coming soon to a digital device near you, Outrun the Bear is coming to talk to you about video games and how they integrate into the lives of two seemingly regular human beings.
