Ricky Ceijas was born in 1983, in Jersey City, NJ from a Cuban background and had a love for art and creativity from an early age. From drawing, painting, sketching, break dancing, choreography, airbrushing, tattooing, songwriting, and even music production!
After moving out on his own at an early age, dropping out of college, driving sanitation trucks for 18 years, a brain surgery for an Arachnoid Cyst and a Distal Bicep Tendon repair surgery he finally chose to ignore all what if’s, and doing something he actually loved.
During his recuperation, he became a certified Scalp Micropigmentation artist! He's expanded his abilities, experience, and knowledge since then and has become an amazing Permanent Makeup Artist! Fueled by his creativeness, passion, art experience, dedication, and desire to thrive he’s sure to grow in the beauty industry!

My name is Veronica Perez. I’ve been in the beauty and cosmetic field for almost 20 years!! Most recently I have absolutely fallen in love with the permanent makeup industry, all its potential growth and it's served as a creative outlet for me. I started in the industry truly as a side hustle and used it to fill my need for art and creativity. In 2020 I decided to quit my big girl job as a cosmetic dental assistant, for 12 years, to follow a feeling and truly give myself a shot at doing something bigger than me.
I never imagined opening a salon or business in my hometown of Sandwich, IL but here I stand over a year and a half later and still growing. I’ve also added time in Chicago by renting days from my now partner Mannat. Which brings us to the present! Mannat and I are excited to announce that we are collaborating in a new project which is called Haus of Beauty Chicago!!
With this new growth and location we hope to merge our businesses and knowledge to hold a space for other women. I love what I do but I know that I have something so special to give back. Our goal is to empower women with the tools and resources they will need so that they can also follow their dreams. We are working on developing a holistic program that would help our women from the inside out to be able to thrive in the best light and on their own businesses. Well, with us as their strength until they develop their own. We're starting off Season 5 on a softer note, speaking with Maria Concepcion, a PMU Artist and Instructor as well as a breast cancer survivor. On today's episode she shares with us her journey through breast cancer and how her career in PMU helped to provide her with a support network during this difficult time in her life. She also shares touching details about the love of her daughter and advice for women who may be going through a similar experience.
Maria comes to us with a wealth of experience in the aesthetic and cosmetic fields. She has over 12 years of permanent makeup experience as well as paramedical training in areola tattooing and camouflage and scalp micropigmentation. In addition to being a certified instructor by the American Academy of Micropigmentation and a certified professional by the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals, Maria is also a licensed makeup artist and cosmetologist.
Maria creates beautiful natural hair stroke brows to compliment every face structure, eyeliner that will make your eyes pop and sparkle, and lip liner and shading that will enhance and make your lips appear fuller. She also performs and teaches 3D & 4D areola tattooing and volunteers her services at the annual Beau Day of Hope — which, as a breast cancer survivor herself, is something that is deeply heartfelt to her.

Leslie Huber-Yedlin is the Director of Operations and Treasurer of the American Academy of Micropigmentation, Elite Artist at Sheila Bella Permanent Makeup, and Co-Author of the children’s educational book “Colors for Kids.”
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of California, Berkeley with a double major in English and Communications, Leslie began her career in the corporate world. Her skills in Marketing Communications and Client Services Management has provided a range of experience from high tech start up companies to multi-million dollar automotive accounts spanning 20 years.
With a creative spirit and the desire to help others, Leslie changed the course of her corporate career by pursuing an education in permanent makeup. Zuri has been a life long lover of makeup. In 2018, she expanded her services to semi-permanent makeup and has since gained 10 certifications in the field. Zuri’s artistic eye coupled with attention to detail has allowed her to progress in the world of both makeup both traditional and semi-permanent. Zuri is an avid learner and holds a Bachelors degree in Biology from Texas Southern University and two Masters degrees from Texas A&M University. As perfectionist , she aims to make each client look their best with an emphasis on the integrity of the skin and stable healed work. Zuri is continually upgrading, learning and developing new techniques, and her understanding of art and skin science transfers wonderfully into the art of micropigmentation. Zuri is a licensed tattoo artist in the state of Texas and was awarded the PMU Women of Color Award for Best New Artist in 2019.
In 2019, Zuri expanded operations to include training and development. Outside of PMU, Zuri is a trained scientist. With a background in the sciences, Zuri developed a training program that hyperfocuses on bridging the gap between the art and science of PMU. Zuri avidly believes that is the science of PMU that yields stellar results and this is what sets us apart in service and training. We focus on the scientific principles of skin physiology, pigment chemistry, science of skin, and infectious diseases to perform safe services with lasting results.
