Are you unemotional, indifferent, and resigned to individuals that have conversations with you? Are you unfettered and calm when things don't happen the way you think they should? If you answered yes to both questions then congratulations! That's great because that means you are a true stoic.

And if you answered no, don't worry. In this episode, I talk about what being stoic is all about. Who started the stoic movement and philosophy? Is being stoic considered negative? I'll let you decide.

Stoicism, in a nutshell, is a crafty way of being unflappable, productive and, in control. But there's so much more to stoicism and once you master all that it encompasses, you won't ever want to change.

After this episode, with only a few tools in your "stoic toolbox", you'll be well on your way to having a better more purposeful life. Who doesn't want that!

Do you listen to other people when you have a choice to make? Most of the time we feel we must get approval or get someone's opinion before we can move ahead with our actions whether it be a new job, sending your son or daughter to a private school, buying a new house, where to go on vacation, etc., etc.

What we all need to be doing is listening to ourselves. We definitely know what's best for us but sometimes we don't realize we are in charge and we are the person who has the answers.

In this episode, I give you three fantastic examples so that you can see if these things have ever happened to you.

Hope you enjoy this episode. Thanks for listening.

Do you feel old or are you uncomfortable with getting older? You are not the only one.

Maybe you have thought about a new career, or becoming an entrepreneur when you are older. Whatever that thing is, you deserve it and you are worthy. You are your very own destiny no matter how old you are.

I hate to say this but "Age is just a number" so remember that the change regarding our age has to happen in your own subconscious mind. Get rid of those feelings about getting older that don't serve you and replace them with only positive, truthful feelings about how great you are now.

In this episode, I give you a couple of real-life examples...two women who were in their 50's...one failed miserably, and one was wildly successful...but why?

Discover what you can do so that you are a successful person. Be the victor and NOT the victim as you age. Your potential is endless regardless of any age!

Thank you for listening. I hope that you enjoy this episode!

At the beginning of this year, 2021, I challenged myself using the great number seven. Do your very own seven-day challenge. The number seven is great for attracting things to you!

Involve the number seven as much as you can because the number seven invokes that great law of the universe, The Law of Attraction.

  1. Think of seven actions you can take and do that action for seven minutes/days/weeks. The more you involve the number seven the better it gets.
  2. Make an affirmation whether it be a word or a sentence that's positive and write that affirmation seven times a day for seven days.
  3. Sit quietly for seven minutes (set your timer) and think of what you want and/or how you see yourself in this world receiving what you want, pretending that you already have it. Make sure it's a good thing. Do this for seven days.
  4. Do a creative and exciting action that is going to move you closer to your goal. For me, I want to be a successful podcaster in my genre so I will do an episode every day for seven days.
  5. Make it fun and not a chore.

Who is Emil Coué? Great Question. It was in 1922 that the small book, "Self-Mastery Through Conscious Auto Suggestion" was published 1922. And Emil Coué made a name for himself.

Learn about the "Coué Method" and famous phrase (also known as the mantra or affirmation in later years) that covers just about all ailments, pains, difficulties, and problems.

There's only one thing and that is this (here comes the caveat): You must really believe what you are saying is, with no doubt, true. If you can do that and have the discipline to use it as prescribed and have plenty of faith then you are on your way to a great healing and a fantastic life.

As my mentor has always said, "Your way isn't working so why not try mine?" So try the "Coué Method" now!

Thank you for listening. I hope you enjoy the episode!

We all have heard of the 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. Right? But did you know that good ol' Abe had plenty of challenges and defeats in his life? It's true. By all accounts, he should have given up and had every right to. No one really believed in him it seems.

In this episode, there is a lesson to be learned from this man that had a great deal of tenacity. By declaring a few words or an affirmation as much as possible during your day, and by taking action and steps on the goals you want, you too can achieve anything you want just as Abraham Lincoln did.

This is something that I do and so many people do that can move you ahead and help you feel that you are enough. Also, there's a little diddy of my own that tells about my "Never give up" and I am "Enough" accomplishments.

Thank you for listening. I hope you enjoy it!

The implications of your actions weigh heavy on you.

The Butterfly Effect is something you live with every day whether you know it or not. Here's the truth. Everything you have ever done has, in turn, affected another person AND to a larger degree, everybody everywhere!

Here's a great explanation of this plus examples of this great thing that you totally have control over.

And remember "Everything has to do with Everything." The simplest innocuous activity you do will affect another person, and maybe that other person is across the street, in another city, on the other side of the globe, OR not even born yet. The implications of your actions weigh heavy on you.

Not only is it important to be respectful and nice to others wherever you are, consider it as having a major effect on the whole world...everybody everywhere. What we, as responsible humans, do can and does have great consequences, indeed.

*This is a continuation of the last episode, Be "That Person" For Someone- Seven Episodes In Seven Days - 6

Be "that person" for someone that needs you. Yes. So you are having a bad day. You're in a bad mood and life doesn't seem to be going so well. But did you stop and think that someone else could be having it much worse than you. It's true!

Breathe and let your frustration and anger at yourself dissipate. All you have to do is realize that everybody is going through some of the same things you are.

Realizing that the strangers that don't seem to be so nice can actually be there for a very good reason...to give you what you need. And in turn, you can give them what they need.

Simple, right?

Plus the seven episodes in seven days is my challenge to myself and I would love to have you join me.

Turn it off! The social media platforms, the mainstream media, the internet, Netflix...everything...for one day! Just one day. Certainly, it's not asking too much. And there are so many other activities that you are missing out on.

Be a bit old-fashioned for this 24 hour period and do some activities with your family, friends, or by yourself that will get your mind and body headed in the right direction.

It's something that might just help you move into a positive vibration for the year ahead. And that's always a very good thing!

In these challenging times in the United States and the whole world, we all need to "Give Peace A Chance." as John Lennon said. But it's so hard to give peace and chance when you feel defeated, worn out, and tired of the circumstances. There's no use and you feel sad regardless of what you do, right?

Well, maybe putting a little color into your life is the solution. In this episode, it's all about taking that deep breath and letting that relaxing and calming colored light wash over you, even if it is only for a few minutes.

The Law of Reverse Effort is so easy it's ridiculous! I will give you the meaning of this great law and how you can use it to your advantage. If you can implement this law by simply "Taking it easy" then you've got it made in the shade.

Listen all the way to the end to hear the New Year's challenge I've made for myself and my invitation to have you take this challenge with me. 2021 will be a great year I just know it!

Is being popular important to you? Or is doing what's right important to you? The difference between the two can make or break your success.

If you think about it in terms of achieving your goals and dreams then you will be happy to hear that you can be more productive, get some of your goals accomplished, and have greater joy in 2021 by being true to yourself. Doing what's right for you is the answer. Being a little unpopular (and not hanging with the cool kids) is not a bad thing especially if the outcome is great.

After all, there are many successful people that went through some pretty hard times, including persecution, by having convictions in their beliefs and doing what they knew was best for themselves instead of those who “follow” the popular crowd and get nowhere fast.

Also in this episode, I give you an example of how I'm making my resolutions come true in a different way this year. It's the "Number Seven Challenge" that I want you to try too. It's using the number seven to get those resolutions, goals, and results that you want in 2021.

This technique and all the topics I talk about take tenacity and a desire to see yourself living your best life right now and that is exactly what will make great things happen. Whatever you do, don't give up and always believe that the impossible is not impossible. It is only your thinking that makes it so.

To have a more productive life in this ever-changing world listen to this episode. Get your dreams, desires, and results that you want. It's easy once you have the 411.

Do you have persistence? I'm sure way deep down inside there is persistence even if you don't think so. It's the "something" so exciting that it gets you out of bed in the morning. If you want it, you can have it. Yes. It takes determination and getting over the fear of failure and criticism but boy is it worth it! Shut your ears to everything negative people around you say and be persistent with your goals. You will never regret it.

Here in this episode are three tales of people who raced to the finish line using persistence. And one story is about something that recently happened to me. You don't want to miss that!

With a definite plan of action (or attack) and persistence to see your goal through to the end, you will make whatever that great thing is, come to fruition. And yes. It's really that simple.

This technique and all the topics I talk about take tenacity and a desire to see yourself living your best life right now and that is exactly what will make great things happen. Whatever you do, don't give up and always believe that the impossible is not impossible. It is only your thinking that makes it so.

Everybody has a couple of bad habits or lives with someone that does. But what's a bad habit to one person may not be so bad to another person. If it's a close family member that "needs correcting" of this said bad habit it's a hard task to change them. And will you be able to really, without hard feelings and confrontation? Just asking.

In this episode, I talk about bad habits that others have and, more importantly, the bad habits that you have acquired and want to, perhaps, change. It's the tenacity and a desire to see yourself living your best life right now that will make it happen. Do the 21-day exercise and watch what happens. It's all good.

Find out some enlightening information. You'll be delighted to know that there are solutions and opportunities within your own life and experiences while you make your way through this crazy world we are now living in.

This is growing uncomfortable. The podcast that explores techniques that will improve your life. Growing uncomfortable with Stephanie Lee starts right now.

Hello, this is Stephanie and I am growing uncomfortable every day in every way and I hope you are too because growing uncomfortable is so cool. It's putting the seed in the dirt, stomping on the dirt that you put over the seed and watering it and watching yourself grow and flourish into that person that you want to become and that is such a good thing for you. I can't tell you how great that feels when you accomplish all of those dreams and desires.

Listen on today's episode, I want to talk about another higher faculty of the mind. Well, there are six of them, so we have a little time to discover all of them. And the one faculty of the mind that I want to talk about is memory. What is memory? What is your memory? What are your memories all about? Well, they are very telling on what you're going to do in the future and what you're going to have in the future and what you're going to allow yourself to have in the future. What am I talking about,?...well, I am talking about just pure unadulterated memory that you can use on a daily basis. First, let me give you a definition from Merriam-Webster. "It is the power or process of reproducing or recalling what has been learned or retained, especially through associative mechanisms." That's right. We have mechanisms that allow us to associate feelings with other feelings and that is so cool.

So let yourself remember. Give permission and ridiculous association is great for it too. Listen. You and I can boost our memory with proven techniques like repeating what you hear out loud, writing things down, creating associations and dividing new information into learnable chunks. It is so true. This realization is so important because as you're going to discover, your memory is so much more than a mental movie reel of your past. It is. It is so much more and it tells you how you want to live in the future. Did you know that? Well, gaining confidence and the power of your memory is going to make your mind much more receptive to the future...to what happens in your future. Well, what is going to happen in your future? Do you know? Have you defined that? Well, let's just say that you want to have something great in the future, which is a great goal.

You should have that. You want to start a business or you want to have a new home or you want to become some executive or a chef or entrepreneur that is really, really great for you. Now, let me just tell you that the memory does work in this case, in these scenarios, you want those, but what you don't want is what you've been getting, right? So we want to jump out of that comfortable situation and what is comfortable with that situation? Well, just think about it and remember what you don't like about that situation, what you've hated about that situation. Keep that memory going of what was not right about that situation. And then think about what is right about the future, what is right about a current situation or a future situation, what is right and use your past memory to get that, to get to that point.

You know, what would you be without your memories? How important is your ability to remember the past and draw on it to inform your next move that is so important and that is what I'm talking about in this episode. It is forming and it is informing for your next move in life. This is so cool and you have the ability to do this all on your own...all by yourself. Again, I have to state, shhhhh, don't tell anyone what you're doing and don't tell anyone if you're not sure that they can, well, encourage you to keep that memory in the past and make for new memories. Maybe the memory is maybe something about that person that you don't like and that you don't want to share. That's okay too. The memory works in so many ways and it does work with knowing names and places and things that you do and where you go and the directions for what you do and where you go, but it also has so much more to do with your goals and desires and what you get out of life.

You know, even most university students graduate without the benefit of learning how their own brains turn experiences into memories. That is so critical. It is critical as an adult that we learn that our memories of the past can just be memories that we leave behind and to get to that uncomfortable situation, to grow uncomfortable, we have to leave those memories behind. We don't forget them. I'm not saying to forget them, I'm saying to just acknowledge that we are leaving them behind and we are moving forward. That is a great thing. You can use your memory in many, many different ways and this is the truth.

Listen, of course, like always. I have my own example to what I am talking about. Well about 20 or 25 years ago, I was living in a condo in New York and I loved it. I had my cat, Holly with me and it was great. There was a time though that I was in between jobs and I didn't know where my next penny was coming from. And I, of course,... well, I just have a memory of being so, so poor and so just not able to afford anything including my common charges or food or even, I really had a hard time just affording my phone bill. And so I would search for change in my car to buy cat food for Holly, a bad memory of the past, that's for sure. And it was telling how I wanted my future to be. I didn't want it to be me searching in the car and the bottom of the car in the floor of the car for change or in between the cushions for 50 cents. That was not something I cherished. So I'm using that memory. I'm using that memory to just say my life will be better now.

I can also use the decision to start podcasting in 2015 how I went about it. It's a good memory, right? That's a good memory of the past telling what we want more of in the future. It was telling me what I want more of this success of finding the programs. I've gone through this before with the podcasting, finding the programs and getting all the things together, the microphone, the earphones and all this other stuff. The plans to do a podcast on Talk, Tales and Trivia. This is so important, so it's important that we have the past bad memories and good memories. We can't live without the memories.

Now if you don't remember certain things, well, there are things that you can do with that as well. Say for example, you don't remember names or you don't remember the cities that you go to or you just don't remember certain facts and certain things. That's okay to save. For example, you didn't remember that the person that lives down the hall is named Trudy. Well that you can work on too, and I have a book for you that will be in the show notes as well as my book list that you can find in the blog of my website, GrowingUncomfortable.com

BOOK PROMO...

This is growing uncomfortable. The podcast that explores techniques that will improve your life growing uncomfortable with Stephanie Lee starts right now. Hello, this is Stephanie and I am growing uncomfortable every day in every way and I hope you are too because growing uncomfortable is the best place to be because it is putting the seed in the ground. It is putting dirt over the seed and it is watering it and watching you flourish and grow and that's a wonderful thing and that is something that we always want to aspire to growing and getting uncomfortable so we can have the life that we've always wanted to with all the dreams, desires, and results. That is so cool.

Listen...on today's episode I'm going to talk about the "Chain Reaction Effect". What is that? But first I want to start with a quote and that is from the Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale. This was a spoken word recording made in 1956...now you can get the audio version on audible. You can get the video version on YouTube. And you can get the book version, which I have. It's so convenient, but let me start out with the quote.

Okay, he says here, "You will suddenly find that good luck just seems to be attracted to you. The things you want just seem to fall in line and from now on you won't have the problems, the worries, the knawing lump of anxiety that perhaps you have experienced before. Doubt and fear will now be things of the past. Here's the key to success and the key to failure. We become what we think about. Let me say that again. We become what we think about."

And that is so true. He had it right. That was Earl Nightingale explaining what happens when you start on the road to success. When you start getting uncomfortable and start getting your dreams and desires met by what you think, by how you feel, by your actions, and then the results will come into your life as perfectly as you want them to. That's a chain reaction effect and I'm going to talk about that in some kind of detail right now. Okay, so the chain reaction effect, like I just told you a little bit briefly about his thoughts. Create your feelings, your feelings, create your actions or actions, create your results and the results are you having what you desire in life that your results, that you personally want to have. No one else's, okay? There's no one else that you're trying to please or trying to make happy or trying to have the same life as that is your own results with no thoughts.

There is no feeling and with no feelings there is no action and with no action there is no result. But is there no thought? No, of course not. We always have thoughts. We're always thinking that is part of us. That is part of who we are. So are we thinking negative thoughts are positive thoughts? Let's think about this. Okay, well you'll have negative feelings and that creates negative actions and that creates negative results. So let's from now on, not settle for negative. Let's settle for positive, positive thoughts, positive feelings, positive actions and positive results. And that is what you will get a positive result if you follow through with this chain reaction effect. Okay? Now we're going to go into it. Your thoughts are what you think during the day while you are awake, you know, let's give an example. I want a job so I can make more money.

I want a job so I can have more money. Okay. Now your feelings. How do you feel about that thought? How do you feel? How do you feel? How is your emotions? It feels pretty good. Having a rewarding job that gives me more money. Hey, Hey, I love that. I feel joy. I feel love. I feel happy. I am going to do so much with that little bit more of money or a lot more of money than I am currently making and that makes me feel great. Okay, so now we move on to actions. What is going to be the actions that we are going to take so that we can have our results that we want? Okay, so after those feelings and those are particular feelings that you have, that's the way you can tell if your thoughts are great. If you're thinking positive thoughts, if you're having positive feelings, if you're feeling happy.

Okay, so now the actions. What are you going to do to create that dream job? What is it? I am going to actively look for a position that does what? Okay. I will make a Facebook page that will do what? Will attract people that have that same interest. Okay? Let's think on the actions that we create on the physical actions, looking through the newspaper or online for that perfect job that will acquire more money. That will give me more money, okay? So those are the actions. So you want to line up your feelings and your actions with the thoughts that you have. They're all positive, okay? Keep that in mind after you do the thoughts, feelings, and actions, while the results will just come, you're having that great life that was at one time only a thought. You're reaching a sweet spot. Sit back and enjoy the results.

Hey, you know what? There's a thing though. Okay? I can't help but warn you nicely about the thing that you must not forget. Listen, there are so many people that don't finish this, that only go through their thoughts and don't care about their feelings. Don't try to change their feelings. It's going to be a rough ride at first. Like everything that is growing, you are growing uncomfortable, right? And there's growing pains. You remember what that's like from when you were a child? Perhaps there are growing pains. So many people don' finish. So don't give up. Don't settle for less than you. Don't settle for less than you want. You must be repetitious. You cannot have the goals, the dreams, the desires, the thoughts, the feelings, the actions. And lastly, the results, that sweet spot without having repetition because the repeating and the repetition means that this is so cool and it means that this means so much to you.

You are not giving up. Repetition correlates to getting the results faster. Repeat, repeat, repeat. I can't say that enough because the word is repeat, right? So repeating the word repeat, but I want to, I want to get that into you to know how important that is and it's okay to review and change course in your plan. Refine and review every so often just rewind, refine, and review. That is the clue that I have. Refine, rewind, review. That is so cool and I want that for you. So thoughts become feelings, feelings become actions, well actions...well they will be your results and hopefully they will be a great result. Now using your imagination to get to those thoughts that you want is just as fun and I have talked a lot about the imagination on this podcast and I want to mention it again. Listen, your thoughts are just thoughts going on throughout the day.

Okay? They're like spurts of things that you think about, but this one thought that you are going to have as a goal or a dream or a desire or whatever you want to call it, is what you are really all about. What do you want? What makes up you? What makes you different than anyone else? What dream or desire do you want? And that is what we are going for. So you will have that imagination period going on throughout the day. You will have that time alone that you imagine what you want. Just imagine having everything that you want or having that one thing that means so much, whether it be a relationship, more money, success, anything that you want that is in your favor. You know, I hate this, but I'm going to use it again. The best nation on earth is your imagination. So use that and get to those thoughts that you really want and get those dreams and desires met.

Now, let me just tell you something, and I want to say this in the politest way. There is a downside. I think I mentioned it in the very beginning and there is a downside. This technique works in both ways, okay? It works for positive and it works for negative. Are you a negative Nelly? Well, that's an old expression, but I still remember it and I remember sometimes being called a negative Nelly and we don't want that anymore. We don't want to be called a negative Nelly. We are positive. We are just positive people. So the negative actions work the same as the positive actions, the positive feelings of positive actions, and it creates positive results. Don't forget that. So if you're thinking negative and down and kind of...uhhhhh...that is what you're going to get. And also when you're thinking negative, you won't complete all the steps in the chain reaction effect.

You just won't because you won't feel like it's worth it. So now, now that we know this, now that we know all of this, how are you going to put this into work for you? Well, get into a positive mind frame. Get to thinking positive. What do you really want? And hone in on it. Write it down. This is your activity for the next seven days, by the way, okay, this is what I want you to do. You are first going to think about what you want. Okay? Just think about it. Just sit tight and think about it. Then you're going to write things down. You're going to write many things down. What do you want...in a partner, in a job? Whatever it is, what do you want? Let's get clear. That's have clarity. Let's be crystal clear and that is a great thing because that will hone in on what you want.

Okay? Then when you get those feelings, that will be more and more confirmation that your thoughts are really true and are really good because then it creates the actions and you get the results you want. There is no downside to this actually. If you think positive thoughts, there can't be a downside. What could there be but upside? Now, I'm going to use me as an example and I always do this because, well, I have some pretty good examples in my life, my example of using my imagination. Okay? I'm going to just suppose that, well, I'm thinking here and I imagine myself having a weekly podcast. Now this is back in 2015 or 16, right? I imagine myself having a weekly podcast. I want to do a podcast producing a fun and informative show. Say for example, on something I really know well, right? Firsthand knowledge.

Let me imagine what that would be. Okay, well, I love my Jeep Wrangler. Let's start there. Now what can I do? My imagination says I want to do a weekly podcast about Jeep maintenance and Jeep events and Jeep everything. I want to do a Jeep podcast, a weekly Jeep podcast, so I have that as my thought. Okay. Then I write it down, I write all the information down and I'm thinking all along that is going to be a such a cool podcast and that is really what I want to do on a weekly basis. So now I have the feelings. The feelings are exciting and great because I love my Jeep and I want to share some of my Jeep stories and some of my Jeep maintenance and some of the Jeep events with other Jeep owners, Jeep Wrangler owners. I have that feeling and it feels so good and then the actions...I have right, the actions to make the podcast happen, all the research and everything goes into it.

I am buying the equipment...microphone earphones, finding a program to record the podcast, getting an editor or learning how to edit and then designing the cover art for my podcast. I can see it happening. Making a Facebook page with all the episodes on it, telling all my Facebook friends about the podcast on my personal Facebook page, and then I actually do the episode and put on the instant stories. I can see that happening, right? But I can also see me getting listeners and me getting downloads. Webinars are coming out of it, speaking gigs, and my return on investment is so worth it. The return on investment, the return on all those feelings and actions are so worth it and the revenue will follow. So now that is such a cool thing. And along with it, you are having those great feelings and you're refining your, your thoughts and you are having a great time with your imagination and it keeps growing and growing.

So listen, do this. Start writing down how you are feeling and what your thoughts are during the day. Are they negative? Well, forget those thoughts. Are they positive? Are they helping you? Remember what Earl Nightingale says in the strangest secret, here we go again. I read, "Here is the key to success and the key to failure."...right? The key to success and the key to failure. One is positive, one is negative. "We become what we think about." We become what we think about all day long. It is so cool and don't forget it. Okay? Don't forget it because you, you are great and you can have all the thoughts that you want to have all those dreams and desires and the results you want. It is so cool to realize that you are in control through your imagination and that's it.

Let me tell you something. How do you get in touch with me? Well, you can email me at growinguncomfortable@gmail.com I love feedback. I love new topics and I would love to hear from you and I always answer. So growinguncomfortable@gmail.com is my email address.

In this episode I pick-up and expand on the perception aspect that I mentioned in last week’s bonus shorty episode on forgiveness.

What do you do when you are not moving ahead? If your like most people you just can’t think of doing anything differently…or at the very least you don’t know how to get to that place where you can change. You are stuck. What do you see every day? Is it good or bad? How do you perceive it as being?

That’s where perception comes in. You want to look at another person’s point of view to get fresh ideas and new ways of thinking about doing the things that will give you the results you want.

In this episode, I give you three activities to do that will have you thinking about perception in maybe a different way than ever before.

In this episode I chat on about my work history…well, specifically my work history between 30 and 40; those years when a person is supposed to be “most employable”. The good ‘ol “Not-To, Not-To”, meaning not-to young and not-to old. Yep. These “Not-To’s” (as these office workers were shamelessly called by their bosses) were at the perfect 10 year span to:

  1. Give every shred of credit for any of your work to your boss because she needs to stroke her ego
  2. Do not question assignment’s or mundane tasks
  3. Know when to stop talking and walk away
  4. Know that your job is so important that you may have to cancel dinner and weekend plans when need be to finish a project that is “time sensitive”

Well, I don’t know about you but I definitely had a problem with the above list! It was exhausting and not in a good way!

These were the hardest years for me in making money, saving money, and having any money at all.

Was all the corporate office work worth my happiness? Well…I could give you a one word answer for that question. But what’s the fun in that?

So go ahead and listen to this episode NOW!

On this episode I introduce yet another Natural Law of the Universe that can not be refuted or denied. It’s the Law of Gender. What is that and how can you make it work to your advantage? You see, these Natural Laws of the Universe are always working, they are working right now, they are working for everybody at all times. Period.

It’s a great idea to understand how you can makes the natural laws work for you. These laws were put in place to help you and so they will…if you understand how it all happens.

It is in this episode that I retrace our steps back to the 21 day “mark” as being where you start to see those little changes that you have been working towards. They may be small changes but don’t get discouraged. It’s all part of the bigger picture.

I then explore how the 21 day “mark” has everything to do with the Law of Gender.

Of course, there is an activity I would encourage you to do involving the Law of Gender. Do this activity for the next seven days and you will feel that you’ve made a huge step in the right direction.

You will have planted the seed and so that means the gestation for your goal is already starting to happen. Easy…right? Yes. It really is that simple.

In this episode I talk about my big and very comfortably uncomfortable secret. Yes. Back in 2017 I wrote a book. And I was proud of it until I made a few ignorant mistakes and also one big mistake that no informed writer would make. I use best-selling author, Joyce Maynard’s view on this subject as an example of what not to do.

I do have to admit I handled some of the situations (failures) that came up in the wrong way but I still consider the book writing experience a success even though it’s not for me. And btw, I had to go through this experience to realize that.

It’s in this episode that I challenge you to “Be the person that you want to become.” right now, as Joseph Murphy says in his book, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind.

By using this one seemingly ordinary technique, that is well-known in the acting world, you can be the person that you want to become this very second in any and all professions. Everything and anything you want using this one thing consistently can have you achieving your dream career Lickity-Split. And it also works for the many other things that you want in your life, too.

I don’t want to spoil any more of this episode for you so listen to it NOW.

And sidebar here…you can go to amazon to see my book and to read more about it.

My feelings about being at this huge podcasting event with 2800 attendees? Hmmm…you must listen to find out. But it turns out it’s not such a scary thing. Yes it is slightly overwhelming but there is a solution. And the beauty of it is it is available for you to use at any time.

Almost like snapping your fingers and turning things around that fast.

What Do You See In The Mirror? And How Do You Want Everybody To See You?

Below there is a side by side picture of me before and after FaceApp Hollywood-style make-up.

In these pics below there are four images that are completely natural and four images that have been retouched and/or filtered in some way. Can you pick which is which?

On this episode I have something very important to talk about. Yep. It’s your self-image. This one thing alone is so important because it’s how you form your personality, your behaviors and your circumstances.

We all must love ourselves and accept ourselves as we are right now AND there is no better time to get started than right now.

The 21 day “experiment” I will give you is so worth it because, with repetition, you will see remarkable changes in your self-image that you will have in no time. But don’t give up after a week. The key is repeating and repeating and, repeating some more so it becomes ingrained in your subconscious mind (just like any other habit).

Listen, like most things you really want, you must have consistency and stick with it. The results will truly be worth it and you can, and will, have the self-image, confidence and, self-esteem to conquer anything!

It starts with YOU!

Ahhh…decisions, decisions, decisions. In this episode I pick up where I last left off in the previous episode. And this time I find out that I have a decision to make.

This may seem like an easy decision but it wasn’t. And it is applicable to everyone. The decisions that we make can and will impact and change our lives in one way or another. For the better or for the worse. Choose wisely.

Don’t let others decide your future. It’s your life and you have to live it in the best way possible…making your own decisions and on your own terms.

As Napolean Hill put it in his great book, Think and Grow Rich,

“You have a brain and a mind of your own. Use it, and reach your own decisions. If you need facts or information from other people, to enable you to reach decisions, as you probably will in many instances; acquire these facts or secure the information you need quietly, without disclosing your purpose.”

In this episode I tell a story that happened in the late 1990’s when I was working at a trade show company in marketing. Although the story itself is not pivotal or life-changing, it is a fun memory for me.

This episode does have a few lessons that I learned along the way about being uncomfortable and exploring an unknown place alone. And along the way, I had a little fun searching the “Big Easy” for a man that I admire and, perhaps, had a bit of a crush on.

It certainly made the trip more fun. And I learned more than I ever thought I could know about New Orleans. Just take a stroll down Bourbon Street…it’s all good!

“Personality, that magnetic and mysterious something that is easy to recognize but difficult to define, is not so much something that is acquired from without, as it is something that is “released” from within.”

– Maxwell Maltz, Psycho-Cybernetics

On this episode I explore the inner traits, likes, and the true YOU that makes up your personality. This exercise that I have for you will give you clarity and will hone in on what you want the world to see about you.

This is so important because it makes up the activities and physical things that represent who you are and how you are seen to the outside world with the things you are doing.

And it is really wonderful that right now you can start meeting the people that can and will give you the dreams and desires you want out of life because they will be tuned in and excited to meet you, too.

You will help them and they will help you whether it be in business, friendship, meeting a partner or anything else! You will be happy and you will bring happiness to them.

I use the Jeep Wrangler culture quite a bit in this episode to illustrate my passion I have and the things I am now involved in to meet the people that have the same personality as I do.

This episode, as with all my episodes, is my opinion and the content is based on 40+ years of hard-core learning and experience. I am not a doctor. Please advise a doctor or a professional on any tips, or suggestions that I talk about in this podcast.

*This is part 1 of a 2-part series. So in this episode I scratch the surface of this one unique thing that we all have. In the next episode I will expand on this.*

In this episode I explore some things that you love about you and are physically, tangibly showing to the world. This brings out the best in you, and definitely shows the world who you are and what you are like...and no words need to be spoken.

The car you drive, the music you listen to, the books you read, and the hobbies you have...everything hinges on showing others who you are and the personality you have.

This episode, as with all my episodes, is my opinion and the content is based on 40+ years of hard-core learning and experience. I am not a doctor. Please advise a doctor or a professional on any tips, or suggestions that I talk about in this podcast.

In this episode I have a story that, perhaps, if you haven’t lived the experience (and I hope you haven’t) then maybe you have witnessed the uncomfortable feeling of seeing a friend or someone else being out of control in this particular way.

It’s definitely not fun BUT, with practice, you will learn how to turn it around almost immediately using this “one thing”.

No. I’m not telling you what the “one thing” is here in the show notes. You have to listen to this episode to find out.

I’m here to tell you that…it can be done.

  • It’s extremely uncomfortable

  • It isn’t easy
  • You will be challenged

And, yes…in the end you will have accomplished a huge thing and you can now go anywhere you want and all over the world.

In 1978 I went from a carefree kid living in suburbia to a 13 year-old kid living at a boarding school about an hour away from my cozy home.

While I didn’t like the boarding school experience very much, there was one exciting, wonderful, and unforgettable thing. This one thing was not a thing at all, but rather a person…a group of people that would forever change me. It wasn’t the students or teachers.

Curious yet? Well…take a listen because I’m not spilling the beans here.

Back in August of 2016 I started my first podcast, Talk, Tales and Trivia. Although I was doing the podcast because I loved this new medium I had discovered, I was also using it as a learning experience. I put all my energy into that podcast so I could figure out how to podcast.
But then in the late Fall, Podcast Movement came-a-calling (in an email) and I signed up so fast my head was spinning.
Ahhh…what happened next? Well, you are just going to have to listen to find out.
Yep, just like a roller coaster, the events were extreme highs and extreme lows.

On this episode I have the extreme pleasure of speaking to **Emily Prokop** of the ***Hate To Weight*** podcast. We talk about what it's like to be comfortably uncomfortable while dieting...ummm...eating differently.

Tips and recommendations are on this menu as well as chatting about the podcasting community and Emily potentially winning a Webby for her podcast, The Story Behind (although voting ended on the 23rd, she's a winner, no matter what!).

It's not an easy thing to talk about but here I go. A very comfortably uncomfortable raw and real backstory. Get a taste of what it is really like to come to grips with something that is not easy to talk about.

It IS a very hard thing to talk about because I don't like to admit my imperfections. Isn't that silly? And guess what I discovered? It's a good thing to have imperfections because that's how we all grow.

I hope this episode takes the weight off of you. You can tell your backstory and let everyone know it. It's what makes you unique. And that is a great thing.

In this short episode I tell you a little about my backstory and how I began to podcast.

Let me ask you…are you settling for a career path or a position for work that you’re not very good at? That’s what I did. I knew customer service, retail, and event planning would be positions that were difficult. These positions required standing all day, lifting heavy boxes, and being very charismatic. And, most importantly, these positions weren’t ultimately getting me to my goal of having a career in radio.

I took the comfortable path and I was unhappy for years. Until something happened that changed my life.

This one thing was totally getting out of my own way and literally jumping into a very uncomfortable part of life. And guess what? I did it anyway. And I’m so glad I did!
