We look at a different minor Marvel Comics super villain almost every week.
Copyright, 2011 Devin Dukes
That is right, the fine not-feathered fiend from Marvel Comics. He looks cool and has some great super powers. But alas, still a minor villain.
Say what you will about Chemistro or any Cage villainsfor that matter but at least he had staying power.
And we are here to talk about it with our guest Jonathan. Spoilers galore here but the conversation is qualified artistic critique and empirically valid. Plus not dirty like filthy Deadpool.
Super engineer Starr Saxon made robots then became one himself. He was also the second Mister Fear. Minor Daredevil villain but cool story.
Here is a DJ that got special voice powers and used them for bad. Threat to humanity, minimal.
The Marvel super-villain team led by Crossbones...and others. That is, as long as they could stay alive.
Simply named fella premiered in the 60's from Marvel. Not really named after his personality.....but YOURS!!! Listen to learn and to hear us go off on Psycho Woman.
We talked about a bunch of stuff on this free-form episode and what is going on with Marvel. We also talked about a few of the Marvel movies and where they may be heading.
We look at Glorian this week and his fun with Hulk and Fantastic Four. We also have Shaper of Worlds. Who knew Glorian and Shaper were actually two of the most powerful cosmic beings in the Marvel Universe?
This is a Luke Cage - Powerman villain that is very flawed. Also, he is is a by-product of the early 70's Blaxpoitation film movement and is named after a bug that is universally despised. This is an interesting one folks.
Do you know what the date is? I'll bet Calendar man does. This DC comics creation from 1958 is one of the greatest gimmick super-villains ever. He even has a very dark side to go with the nonsense.
We really enjoyed talking with Professor Northrop Davis of the University of South Carolina Department of Art. He is a screenwriter and director that teaches Manga arts and is the patriarch of the WEMAKEMANGA.COM site. This is really worth checking out. Not only for his interesting and impressive story but to see all that Univ of SC has going on in art. Stand-out episode.

We discuss the coolest yet reviled villain from the 80's, The Spot. We also discuss our recent NYC trip.
It was such a pleasure to talk comics and Chikara with Mike Quackenbush. This man knows comics in a crazy big way. We here at the Weakly Villain Podcast shall now bestow upon him, "The Most Literate Man in Pro Wrestling".

He is the host of "The Trending Show" and co-host of "The Grizzly Bear Egg Cafe" with his long-time friend, Fox News host Clayton Morris. Quackenbush is the founder of both The Wrestle Factory and Chikara. He is a former NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion and one half of the Chikara Campeones de Parejas with Jigsaw. Quackenbush is best known as the patriarch of the Chikara family and for his work on the independent wrestling circuit, the latter of which has spanned 20 years.
Here we have the Marvel Comics father and son villains Gargoyle and The Gremlin. They both started out battling the Hulk but in different decades. Sadly, they never had a chance to play ball or go camping or nuke the Atlantic coast together. Check it out for good information, clever banter and Big Dev says something about mathematics.
We talked to Director Marisa Stotter and Producer Patrick Meaney on a transnational Skype interview about the movie they are doing, "She Makes Comics". It is a documentary film about the untold history of women in comic books, celebrating female creators and fans alike. It is a fascinating subject and we are looking forward to seeing the project come to a screen near us.
Please learn more and back the project here.

Here is a great chat with illustrator and artist Natalie Andrewson. Natalie has had much work published in a number of respectable publications. She is an artist to keep an eye on.
Our interview was near the close of the CON and the noise level, well let's just put it this way, it wasn't ambient. Any odd jumps in the edits are the fault of the Devins and loud comic fans:)

Our first D.C. villain. He comes from the early Teen Titans series in the 60's and has a character to match the times. Ding Dong Daddy is the hot-Roddin', Gang-Leading, Cool-Talking dude leading impressionable teenagers down the wrong path. M.D. and young Dev voice act out a few panels from the comic as well.
From the Marvel Series "The Invaders" comes Baron Blood. He's a vampire so the blood thing in the name works out nicely.
An early villain for Spider-Man. We talk his origin and drippy skin. Plus MD ballparks how how hot the Sun is. Hey, we ain't star scientists, we're comic nerds.
Whether they are Iron Man, Kree or Moses Magnum versions the Mandroids have always spelled trouble.

Winfield Strock is another author we had a chance to talk with at Atomacon. Great interview and his take on comic stuff was cool. He even stumped us on a classic minor Marvel character! We dug his background and personal story and think you will too. Please check out the podcast and his links.

We are back with the WVP and four characters. Four of them have a theme and one is the boss/ creator. Use your logic class (or whatever class) skills to figure it out before you listen. Once again, they are Dominus, Cactus, Butte, Gila, Sunstroke. Email us and let us know how you did.

We got to chat with Ryoko San at Atomacon. Here is some of her bio:
The Noodle Kittens sauntered out of the imagination of the artist Ryoko San and appeared on the Stripgenerator website in August of 2010. The original Noodle Kittens were a pair of black cats named Soba-chan and Udon-kun. A few days later the good twins, a pair of white cats named Lo-mein and Chow-mein, made their first appearance. Since that time the Noodle family has grown to include two Noodle Poodles, Trxie and Babette, and a resurrected rat named Cous Cous. The Noodle Kitten clowder has appeared in an array of comic strips displaying a brand of humor that is sarcastic and sophisticated.

John Hartness is a writer and the man behind the "Big Bad" and "Big Bad 2" anthologies. We got to sit down with him and the author/editor Emily Leverett. We had a great chat about the "Big Bad" books and bad guys in general.
Check out their stuff: www.johnhartness.com www.emilyleverett.blogspot.com
We met a new friend and fan at Atomacon and thought it would be cool to get his 16 yr old perspective on things. A quick hit interview and we talk his game play.
Here is the minor-ist of villains in Marvel. We didn't even know he had affiliation with The Serpent Society. We still had time to make fun of him in this podcast live from the middle of Atomacon.
Christine chatted with us about herself and her comics she created. We love the Undead Norm premise and think you will too.
From her BIO - For most of her life, Christine Brunson has been enjoying comic books. The characters, stories, and artwork have always enchanted her. Ever since she was exposed to the world of comic books, the desire to make her own has always been with her but she did not start working on that dream until 2011. She made her debut as co-creator, writer, and colorist for the web comic Undead Norm.

This is one of our live quick-hitters from Atomacon. Paul Choate sat down with us to talk his new Comic Book "Project Alpha".
Brute is a cool word. This weeks characters has that in his name and another one to boot. Also, hear M.D. read O' Henry.
When the Fantastic Four has to call galactus to beat you, maybe you got a good thing going. At least for a while...
Young Dev had an idea that the old-time minor animal super villain is getting co-opted by armor and technology. We explore four classic Marvel animal characters.
You have to listen because Devin made MD guess a little ways in. Therefore you listeners will have to plow that same field. It is worth it, trust us.
Iron Man had a foe who's gimmick was he could melt.......what, banana's? No, iron! Here's The Melter!
A very early X-Men villain that is insufferable. We talk force fields and Under the Dome as well
The Constrictor got his start seen in Incredible Hulk 212. Great snake gimmick. I will say this podcast is all over the place. Shout-out to Borderlands Comics in Greenville SC.
Maybe this is the strangest group Marvel Comics ever came up with. This is a weird headed crew so check it out.
Check out some poorly researched and off the cuff reviews about the Batman and Spider-Man movies. Plus we go over the Robot Chicken DC special and The Walking Dead.
We're back! Oh and there is a podcast about The Red Ghost and his Super-Apes. Check it out to hear MD say something really stupid.
Bouncing right out of the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #81 is The Kangaroo. Bad guy with a bad haircut.
This is a short one because Mekano was only in one comic. Yes! One comic book. That would be The X-Men #36. This one is another in our "rich kid that hates his dad" series.
Firebrand was one of Marvel Comics most controversial villains when he debuted. Firebrand had a heated (pun intended) rivalry with Iron Man and Tony Stark. Mash all the anti-establishment violent groups and figures of the early 70's into one dude with armor and you had Firebrand.
Marvel's weird yogi/mystic from the early 70s. He started the War of the Supervillains and didn't like the convoluted outcome. Plus we talk about the Charlotte Heroes Con.
This week the Weakly Villain crew rip on the funniest animal character. Behold the Grizzly!
He grows...and shrinks actually. Check out one of Kang The Warlord's bestist bad buddies.
They couldn't use the name Xerox Man I suppose. This is a great early Thor villain(s). Silly name but awesome power.
This guy was in so few comics it is a miracle that we made a 15 minute+ podcast for him. Yes, he literally erases things. Awesome riffing in this one.
Straight outta 1963, here comes the Human Top. The Top went on to become the beloved Whirlwind. We also recap Free Comic Book Day and talk about The Avengers movie. WARNING: Spoiler Alerts!!!!!!!
We sat down at the store in Charleston SC with Mike Campbell to discuss Free Comic Book Day, collecting and the nature of the business. He was very knowledgeable and does a great interview.
Straight out of Fantastic Four #3 is the dapper Miracle Man. He's got more than a rabbit in his hat. He has a thirst to destroy all humankind!
This week our friend Walker sits in for our first remote podcast. We are at the beach discussing The Porcupine. The Porcupine easily has one of the best costumes in the history of minor comic book villains and we spend a good deal on time discussing it.
Nighthawk is the last one from the Squadron Sinister....whew
This episode is dedicated to the villain Nighthawk. He is the last villain from the original Squadron Sinister so that ties it up for the group
Nighthawk is pretty interesting in that he eventually became a hero. However it was with a group that wasn't part of any Squadron. That group would be The Defenders.
The second in our series of podcasts dedicated to the Squadron Sinister. We take a look at Doctor Spectrum.
Squadron Sinister's speedy villain, Speed Demon. He's fast and has had count 'em, two names!
This week we look at the villain Charcoal from Marvel's Thunderbolts series. Charcoal came about by an odd series of events and well, he didn't last too long. Take a listen for the interesting and exciting details.
This week we look at one of Iron Man's greatest foes, The Unicorn. Guess what his schtick is!
This week we take a look at Leap-Frog and his son, Frog-Man. Leap-Frog was a mainstay of the weak supervillains of the late 60's and 70's. He tangled with Daredevil often and popped (or jumped) up in alot of other places as well.
This week we look at the Living Dynamo, Zzzax! He is one of The Hulk's deadliest foes and of course, one of the least known. Join us for a while as we take a look at this minor super villian.
This week we return with The Mandrill. A minor monkey type super villain. He ain't too pretty and he is pretty dang homicidal.
Here is a link to a picture of The Mandrill and more information than you would ever need.
